Fantastic experience: Great club, good clean facilities and friendly staff

Negative experience: It would be a nice health club, however, there is only one option to try the club before joining, for £25 meanwhile the monthly fee is cca. £50. It's a joke?!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Staff and People. I spoke to the manager about the pool being cold and was promised it is being sorted and will be back up to a decent temperature soon.

Negative experience: I've been a member at this gym for over 2 years and noticed it has been going downhill for a while. It's now got to the point where I have had to cancel my membership I'm unable to use the pool because it's freezing cold and the gym equipment is hardly ever working, machines always out of order for months on end never repaired, the hydro pool has been broken with the promise of repair for over 2 years now and I'm now informed it's permanently broken. Cafe rarely serving food as there's never enough staff on, it's just not good enough for the ridiculous price they charge for membership. It's dated and more like a leisure centre than a spa I'd be disappointed in a spa day here. My numerous complaint emails have been ignored and they expect me to pay a month's notice for my cancellation yet I can't use the facilities? I cancelled direct debit only to find out they have set it back up without informing me which they're not allowed to do.

Negative experience: DO NOT BOTHER. Gym is dirty and massively overpriced. Staff are SO RUDE. Lady behind reception (Kate) is SO RUDE. Terrible attitude along with the PT's The showers are so disgusting and are never cleaned. Constantly smell like sewage. Gym equipment is so out so date and they charge an absolute fortune. Would never step foot in here again purely down to how rude/not bothered the staff are.

Positive experience: We have been members of the gym for 8 months and it's been exactly what we need. The class range and schedule is great, especially the Les Mills. The gym floor gets super crowded but I guess that's a problem in every gym. The pool always seems very clean and tidy, and having the sauna and steam rooms is a great perk - 2 small saunas and 2 steam rooms. The changing rooms are adequate and regularly cleaned. I think for the price you'd expect the sound and A/C to work consistently in the studio, as well as the floor to not be taped up everywhere.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for about 6 months now. Great club with all the facilities you need well maintained with warm welcoming staff. A low key no pressure environment that caters for all from newcomers to seasoned gym goers of all ages!

Fantastic experience: It's a great gym with a nice swimming pool area. Kind, friendly staff who are very helpful. I love coming to this gym. It's the best gym/swimming pool in Burton. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my mum drove nearly 2 hours to get here today and it was so worth it! As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by reception which made us feel at ease straight away. The facilities are absolutely fantastic! 2 saunas, 2 steam rooms, 2 hot tubs and a huge swimming pool! They have a water fountain around the facilities which is useful. We had our treatments by Caitlin and Mikala and they were absolutely amazing! Both therapists are very talented and deliver relaxing yet effective treatments! We will definitely be returning in the future! Thank you for an amazing day!

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THIS GYM!!! I had the unfortunate experience of using this gym and couldn’t be more horrified at rudeness and arrogance of the staff that work there. The woman behind the counter was clueless and couldn’t provide any information that we needed. The gym itself is outdated and overpriced for the machinery that is in there! The staff need to spend more time on the cleanliness of the sauna/swimming pool area instead of sitting on there behinds in the back room. I was severely disappointed and don’t think anyone should waste their money on this poor excuse of a gym. There are many more gyms in the area that are a lot better than here! I would be rating this place 0 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: Very relaxing experience

Positive experience: Had a look around, pool area looks nice with spa facilities like sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Gym was big with all the usual range of equipment and big studio fir classes. Changing rooms were looking tiered but clean. Staff showed us around and gave information on membership.

Negative experience: Signed up for a three month membership only to find out the membership doesn’t end you have to give notice. I had wanted to trial the gym before trying another before making a decision. Such scammy tactics. Been charged £90 for the pleasure. Never again, marketing ply should be clearer.

Negative experience: I regrettably booked this place as a present for my girlfriend, this is not a spa, it is more like a dated leisure centre with a treatment room. even the outside looked dated and grotty as we pulled up. The whole place is very dated, basic and just felt like a cheap public leisure centre. We felt a bit out of place walking around in our robes as it does feel like a leisure centre rather than a spa - not luxurious or relaxing in the slightest. Lots of kids running around the swimming pool so just felt like a public swimming pool. about 2 loungers and 4 chairs around the pool. When we went for our massage they had us down for a different treatment than we had booked and said it was too late to change as they had already prepared the incorrect treatment, that said the treatment was enjoyable but not what we had booked. on a plus side the receptionist and lady in the cafe were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bannatyne for a day of relaxation and rejuvenation, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! The pool area was amazing - clean, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities I needed to unwind (2 steam rooms, 2 Jacuzzis, 2 saunas). But the real highlight of my visit was the massage treatment I received from Micaela. From start to finish, Micaela was professional, friendly, and made sure that I felt comfortable and at ease throughout the entire experience. She took the time to understand my specific areas of tension and tailored the massage accordingly, making sure to target those spots just right. Overall, I would highly recommend Bannatyne to anyone and I will definitely go again!

Positive experience: Recently joined here and have found everyone really friendly. I've not been to the gym for a long time before I joined but I was made to feel welcome from the start. There is plenty of equipment and it's never too crowded. Pool area is great. Only one thing I would say is the gym can feel a bit warm at times but staff do turn down the temp if asked.

Negative experience: Daughter bought a spa day for me, this is far from a spa. It's a gym with a treatment room attached. The treatment was adequate but not relaxing. Facial was lovely, back and head massage dubious. When offering a spa day on wowcher you expect a serene area for the day, not a broken up area with swimming lessons and families being noisy. Also nowhere to relax and read and chill out. Felt like it was fake advertising

Negative experience: Disappointing. Lack of customer service. Our spa day was not what we planned. Maintenance going on pool side resulting in noise and one steam room being out of use. No food being served. Power outage which resulted in us being evacuated. What was really upsetting is that we waited almost a week to be told information that the Manager could have told us on our way out of the spa at the evacuation. Instead, I was misled and promised by the Manager that he would make sure things were put right for us. However, he could not even be bothered to contact me. I had to email the spa to bring their attention to the conversation I had had with the manager, and was informed that no one could deal with this until he was back in on Thursday. I still had to chase this on the Thursday afternoon, and the Manager could not even be bothered to contact me to apologise. He could have given me information on how to get a refund when I spoke to him upon leaving, or passed this information on to a Deputy as he knew full well he was not going to be doing anything about it until almost a week after the ruined spa day. Instead I had to chase for information on how to get a refund, and this could have been given to me on the same day as the disastrous spa visit! Shocking and untrustworthy manager.

Fantastic experience: Had a spa day with treatments - followed by sauna, steam,jacuzzi, and swim- a fabulous day. Everyone was lovely - will definitely go again soon. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I was super excited for my spa day and treatments from my partner for my birthday! However our first problem was you have to pay to hire a gown which is usually all part of the experience. Then which complicated it more it was card payment only... Anyway after that wr finally made our way through to the pool area which just looked like a public pool.The steam room wasn't very hot but warm roomy.However the saunas both had 1 person in and look crowed at that. Along with the jacuzzi's. Unfortunately we only used the steam room 10 minutes before heading upstairs to the treatment rooms. Which I felt like I was walking some office stairs in my gown We were welcomed by the lovely staff who lead up to the "relaxation" room where the beds were very uncomfortable and it just seemed like a office with all lights of and a few candles! Nothing fancy! I did however receive the best Swedish back,neck and shoulder massage. The ladies went above and beyond for our treatments. I unfortunately would not attend this spa again as it isn't great and the cafe is also very open to public nobody wants to sit in a gown and eat where everyone can see you. Privacy was a huge issue.

Negative experience: Masage 5 star,happy with that , rest of things no good , didn't work kitchen that day, had vouchers with lunch included, swimming pool small , jacuzzi didn't work ,says "cleaning in progress. Had to pay for robes 4 pounds each ,another spas only deposit required ,and giving money back. Wouldn't back.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to bannatynes for two weeks now, I've been 6 times so far in them weeks, staff are really helpful, Katie , I've been swimming love it, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, everyone I've met there are really friendly

Negative experience: I have to be honest. I came in for a tour and was quiet rushed thru the entire thing. It seems like a great gym but I didn't feel welcome from the moment I stepped in. No names asked. We ended up joining the country club further down. They were welcoming from the moment we stepped in. Took us on a tour and made sure we at least saw everything, Sat us down and spoke about memberships, even offered us something to drink. Its a bit more money but I would rather spend that after the experience of both. I've since emailed with a question and never a response. 1st impressions may not mean a lot to some people but they do to others especially when it comes to business. I will also say it wasn't busy a busy time of day.

Positive experience: Staff are great, it was really clean and massage was top notch, which is the reason for the 4 stars. If you just want to use some spa facilities and get a treatment, go for it. I paid a really good price £40 ish for 3 x treatments and all day use of spa, gym, pool etc. Wouldn't recommend as a special occasion though as it's more like a leisure centre in appearance and location.

Negative experience: Spa staff are not disability aware, and have asked customers with visual impairments to fill in forms in a dark area, crowded those customers in as of to forcibly move them out of a well lit area, and claiming they didn't need a well-lit place to fill in a form as it was dark in the treatment room.

Positive experience: Booked a spa day with a treatment. It does feel more like a leisure centre and can be busy at times with classes or members and lost that relaxing vibe, hence 4 stars. However, once things calmed at certain points in the day we were able to enjoy the facilities instead of having to wait. The treatment area is lush and gives more of the spa vibe but that depends if you're having treatments. A special shout out to Kiki who was fantastic in the cafe and really looked after us with food and drinks. All staff are always happy to help. Overall a lovely day.

Fantastic experience: An extremely pleasant place. Great pool, changing room is very nice and comfortable. The gym is well equipped. When I started working out at the gym, the trainer who was introducing me to it didn't delve too deep into it, but there are also trainers there who are professionals.

Fantastic experience: Xenia is amazing she was very professional from start to finish . Enjoyed every minute of my massage, facial and foot treatment . Will be booking again but would only do treatment in future spas not for me but she was outstanding credit to the company

Negative experience: Booked a 55 minute massage. Shoulder neck and back and facial. I had two different therapists which was annoying as one left and told me she’d finished Someone else was coming. 10 minutes later the other therapist came in to do my facial which she didn’t even massage my face she literally put products on and then sat there and repeat. Even though there was a 10 minute lay over my treatment ended 8 minutes early so straight away I’ve lost almost 20 minute of treatment. Not impressed.

Fantastic experience: Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Everything was explained to us on arrival. We pre ordered lunch which was advised as we were visiting at the weekend. Food was delicious and great value for money. The facilities were clean and well maintained we had lots of choice. Spa treatments were fantastic and the spa therapists were excellent. After reading reviews online we were anxious about visiting but we were more than pleasantly surprised we had a fantastic day and would definitely recommend and visit again.

Negative experience: Turned up today as we have in the past, travelled from Stoke-On-Trent only to be told we need photo I d.,never before had this been asked for, two of the group are 16 +17, told the young lady they haven't got any with them, well she replies, that's the rules go home and get it or just go away, customer service was nil. Thanks for spoiling our day out.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic gym and pool activities. Spotlessly clean, huge range of exercise machines, classes and very new facilities all round. Best of all, the staff! Friendly, polite, professional and informed - you are made to feel welcome on every visit. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Positive experience: Leisure centre is just a normal centre. Spa is small but offers lots of treatments and the ladies working were very good.

Positive experience: Spa day; hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas and swimming pool all OK although hot tubs not that hot and only ran for about 3 minutes. Good light bites in the cafe. Treatments OK. All pretty much as you'd expect for the cheaper end spa day but still a nice chilled experience.

Negative experience: Price increase is not appropriate to the state of the place. It is in need of some proper maintenance. Roof leaking, machines often break down, doors out of order, everywhere panic buttons signs not working. On top of that swimming pool seems to be getting dirtier, jacuzzi spa COLD same temperature as the swimming pool water (one used to be warmer but now both poor). Kids swimming equipment in poor condition. Woobly chest thing seat in the mens changing room. Saunas usually cold (1 of 4 hot at a time). Sand timers missing, silicone loose on the floor and many many more. The worst of all is personal trainer who is cleaning machines with a mop head and filthy floor water. Smell and look of that makes me sick!

Negative experience: Spa.... What a joke This place is cold, dirty and crammed full of gym goers so you can't use the facilities even if you wanted to.

Negative experience: We defiantly won’t be coming back here. And would not recommend anyone too. We brought via buy a gift and was massively let down. The treatments were poor and lacked a lot of knowledge of how to do it, and the professionalism was poor. Our treatment times were cut short and and after paying a lot of money we ended up leaving straight after even though we had paid for a full spa day. Bannatyne Burton have been shocking when we made a complaint and implied we were lying. Our massage therapists were also whispering to one another while in treatment and their was a lot of noise outside from staff talking. The room lacked comfort and relaxation as it was bright and the music was too loud. Defiantly not what a spa break is suppose to be like.

Fantastic experience: Really like the gym area and the range of classes. Everyone is very friendly. 3 squat racks and a Smith machine, feels like an older clientele than The Gym for example, but I've met and spoken to a lot more people since being here than I ever did back at The Gym.

Positive experience: Overall a nice place to go. However we went for our 2 year anniversary and booked 2 treatments each However when we had the treatments we had to go in separate rooms, which spoilt the experience a little. Staff were good and pleasant and friendly, overall would go again but wouldn't bother with treatments unless they was as intended couple treatments.

Fantastic experience: We had a spa day voucher bought for us. We had not been to a spa before but were soon put at our ease by the receptionist who explained everything clearly and told us to ask if we were unsure. The treatments were amazing and then we enjoyed the sauna, steam room and pool at our leisure. Lovely facilities, friendly and approachable staff. Even the other clients were happy to point us in the right direction. We will be back

Negative experience: We went 19th may 2022, my husband bought me buy a gift voucher. On arrival we learned that we had to pay 16 pounds each ( for hire of dressing gown and towels and flip flops and bag. The lady who greeted us was reasonably helpful and off we went. I have been on a lot of spa days and NEVER had to pay for towels and dressing gown. We were walked round to doors of changing rooms . We got changed into swim wear and went to pool being 30 mins early for 21 am appointment. We swam less than 5 mins and a regular lady came to us in the pool and told us off for not showering before entering the water! I was v embarrassed and stated we were not told and felt quite anxious. We got out and went to jacuzzi. Then we got ready for beauty treatment s . A lovely lady called Debora saw us sitting in waiting area near the lift and welcomed us was v friendly. We waited for her to change and went through to the doubl treatment room. We got on the beds the room was lovely and calming we both had back facial and head massage. Michaela’s massaged me she was very professional and I was pleased with her massage. After this my husband and I went to the quiet relaxation room and chilled for 30 mins. V cosy atmosphere. After this we went to cafe. I have Never been to spa without a snack included in price plus water tea or coffee. I ordered cheese and ham toastie and my husband got eggs Benedict. We ordered fresh orange juice which was v fresh. My husband ordered a cup of tea it came with no milk and t bag in the cup. I had to ask where tea and milk bin was. Felt ham and cheese toastie was very nice and filling. My husband stated worse eggs Benedict he had ever had and would never go back. We didn’t even stop over 2 hours as really disappointed at the place and the atmosphere. We said nothing got changed and got the 20 pound deposit refunded to card basically for 3 hours use cost lots of money and left feeling very poor event. No wonder this Duncan bannatine is a millionaire! So bad we shall be returning to moor hall in future wher full facility s and afternoon tea included for less money! Very poor won’t be returning voting with feet

Fantastic experience: Had a great rime. Only used relaxation room and had 2 treatments. My partner never been to a spa before, absolutely converted. Surprised by how many other men were there so didn't feel less masculine. Great treatment overall, clean and extremely friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Nice place to visit if you fancy a swim that's more relaxed than your average public swimming pool. Includes saunas, steam room and lounger beds. Quiet and laid back place.
