Negative experience: Swimming pool, Jacuzzi, samarium and steam room all out of order but they don't tell you on the way in and still charge £8.50. The gym is very dated and the whole building is in dire need of some TLC. South Lanarkshire council should be ashamed of the state of their facilities.

Positive experience: Great pool for aquafit. Pity closing for a few weeks

Negative experience: I’m looking to start a gym somewhere and ideally would love to have access to a swimming pool and a sauna/ steam room to get my moneys worth… however, after reading reviews and actually popping down to see the facility, it’s not worth the membership price. The staff just stand and talk when there’s unlimited amounts of work to do and things to clean/ maintain. It’s a friendly enough environment when speaking to people and staff but it needs refreshed I.e lockers, cafe, showers and basic maintenance.

Fantastic experience: Used to be great. Pool is a disaster.

Negative experience: Only 50m pool but lane sessions for that distance don’t seem to be on timetable. Such a shame. Pool timetable says 7:40-9:45am 25m lane swimming but they took the lanes away at 8:45. Then full of older people who could only swim widths so I was forced to do the same. Both private showers out of action and some of communal ones not working either. Expensive entry to just swim and of course, have to pay for a few mins of hairdryer still

Fantastic experience: A great place to get fit and relax

Positive experience: Starting to look run down and needs some work to freshen it up. Individual showers have been out of use or broken for over 6 months. Which is not ideal when trying to get young children washed properly.

Negative experience: Pool never open.... unless you're there for lessons or school. 2 cubicle showers shut for months. Half the other showers faulty - is it really too much to hire a plumber??? This place has so much potential, but it's in a state, and it seems no one who can actually do anything about it cares

Positive experience: Easy and almost free parking. Large pool. Some gym equipment getting old but overall a great resource in EK

Positive experience: Great pool and gym. A shame the cafe has shut and no hot drinks vending machines. Take a cushion if you are spectating swimming.

Positive experience: My son attends here for swimming lessons. The centre cafe has been shut since covid. Someone is missing out on a fortune. The pool has been partially closed for weeks now as the adjustable pool floor is broken and can't be lowered. Maintenance is awaited, but I'm assuming is going to be at a very substantial cost. One thing I've always found intriguing about this place, is the chair lift allowing people with accessibility issues to get up the stairs between each level. There is a chairlift to the first and second level, and another between the third and fourth level, but none between the second and third!!! Explain that one?

Positive experience: Turns out the flumes are not in use because south Lanarkshire " REFUSE " to pay to maintain them aswell the baby pool.... got that piece of information from a staff member,and their was a god awful smell when I was last there with my daughter,saf times

Fantastic experience: Great facility, although there's a twenty foot godzilla esque sea monster in the deep end, so best bring a harpoon or it will eat you. Needs flumes

Positive experience: This is one of the fewer fifty-metre pools around the UK and the Dollan Aqua Centre in East Kilbride used to be my local pool I loved that the building is in sixties-style architecture which is awesome. I liked that the two slides were a lot of fun plus a small cafe here which is perfect after a swim. I do remember a situation I was in when I was much younger and it was a family float fun session where they cordoned off a section of the pool so they could give the floats for us to play with. I grabbed the biggest float and I turned around to call on my brother and someone had stolen my float but when I approached that person he had put me underwater and started to knee my head to the point I still have a scar from it. The manager had just said "Boys will be boys" but when they tried to get the CCTV cameras the sun was hitting that specific camera meaning I could never get justice for that situation. I was left with severe bruising for a couple of weeks. Otherwise, it's a good place but just wished there was more security here.

Positive experience: Good aqua centre, pools nice and big and was clean. Although water rides aren’t working which was a bit of a disappointment, been out of order for about a year now. They have inflatables out on a Sunday which is great for the kids so recommend going.

Positive experience: Hasn't changed much since I was here as kid doing lessons now it's my daughter's turn. Cafe is non existent. Lockers are not great half don't work , they have had the same maintenance sign on individual showers for months (more than likely longer )£6.40 for a swim .

Positive experience: The first time in a long time since I've been to the Dollan baths, had a swim and sauna and used the steam room which was most enjoyable. My only complaint was that the steam room didn't stay on long enough and when the door was opened the heat was lost quickly.

Positive experience: Great facility but we were all nearly sick with the smell of urine in the ladies toilet. Absolutely no need for that if cleaned properly.

Positive experience: Staff are nice, kids swimming lessons are good, pool is ok ite just so out of date.

Negative experience: Staff asked me silly question, stupid person on desk, the front my wee son , she stop me and asked where I’m going?.. I answered and looked at her like why she pretending didn’t see me , maybe coz we are foreigner..ridiculous attitude .

Negative experience: Open the sauna! I moved here end of September looking to join but only if the health suite was open. I was assured it would open in October and yet here we are 6 months later still not open and staff full of excuses. First it was covid restrictions then repairs now it’s we don’t have enough staff to operate it. I’m tired of the lies. having a gym routine is what works for most people’s mental health and wellbeing but since 2020 it’s been next to impossible to keep that routine going. Please sort it out! its a community pool that isn’t working for the community it’s been 3 years and other gyms in and around Glasgow can turn on their health suits why can’t you?

Negative experience: A dump not all of the facilities in use a waste of space

Positive experience: Great staff. Changing rooms are clean. The building is in need of maintenance though. Buckets everywhere because of leaks. A large number of showers out of order or not working correctly.

Fantastic experience: Learned to swim there in the waaaaay back. Not been so keen on the new style pools and the flume. I may be old fashioned when I say I lived the old pool. It was a serious swim not a fun pool. Wish I knew it was completely safe and risk free from COVID but even the staff aren't sure... shame. I really miss going for a swim.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful. The gym facilities are outdated. The hygiene from other customers is appalling and disregarded by staff . Wiping down machines before and after use is not mandatory it seems for every one . The health suite is not open. Due to needing parts . And expected to travel elsewhere for the experience of a health suite. The air conditioning keeps breaking down or never on .the web page needs updating also

Negative experience: Extremely dirty. Floor and toilets were disgusting. We arrived at opening time as well so it clearly had not been cleaned from the day before. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: Absolutely useless. I have never been able to get a swim in this place (and I have tried lots of different days and times). It is always far too busy. Basically, unless you are a member, avoid.

Fantastic experience: We were at the skatepark at the back of the building not the actual swimming. Good free skatepark wee bit for parking at the side and lights and camera's watching over. Wasn't too busy due to weather but daughter and friend are only learning so they prefer it that way. Need to find info on more of the free concrete skateparks as I can't find them on google maps. Handy wee place for free laughs and injuries.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful took twin grandsons 15 months old on Friday to start with there is nowhere to sit them safely while we were getting changed. There is no baby pool was told it was out of commission for the size of East Kilbride that is not acceptable so had to go in big pool which was so cold the boys turned blue in minutes so had to take them out they where chittering with the cold. The highlight for them was getting a heat in the shower. Went even more downhill changing rooms were so cold as I said before nowhere to sit them safely while we were getting dressed. So South Lanarkshire council you really need to up your game to keep with other pools in the area I certainly won't be rushing back any time soon and many people have the same view. Staff where lovely couldn't fault them.

Negative experience: The swimming changing area is in desperate need of a deep clean. The use of overshoes is not enforced meaning many people wander around the changing and shower areas with dirty shoes on and have even seen prams wheeled poolside. The toilets next to the pool have an overwhelming smell of urine and in fact the entire area is generally smelly.

Fantastic experience: I visited for the first time in years here the other day and i must say a massive thank you to Yvonne for being so helpful! She went over and above to help us with all the pool and club info etc. It’s nice to come across such great service. The pool was spotless and a pleasure to swim in.

Negative experience: Im only ten but im an alright swimmer but today I could not dive due to one girl swimming for lessons and there were two boys in another lane doing the same as her so we were not able to go in the small part and we were made to go into a part witch is to deep for my three year old sister hope you consider this our different sizes and skills and cater for us in the future.

Negative experience: How is it South Lanarkshire Council policy for parking is ? At Hamilton water palace you get a refund when using facilities but at East Kilbride Dollar baths you don't .Can't seem to understand both in the same county !!!!

Negative experience: I go to the Dolan 3 or 4 times a week because I have an Activage membership card but the place is in need of refurbishment especially the health suites and the management don't seem to be interested in complaints.

Positive experience: It was great after the refurbishment was completed but just went downhill after that. The design of the wet facilities is lacking and maintenance of the cardio equipment somewhat lacking.
