Welcome to PureGym London East Sheen, a fantastic fitness facility offering an excellent range of equipment and classes at an affordable price. Our gym is well-equipped with tons of free weights, machine weights, cardio kits, and ample floor space, which ensures that you have everything you need for a productive workout.
Many users have praised the gym for its cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, and helpful staff. Our management team is always eager to listen to feedback, ensuring a positive environment for every member. We offer a variety of classes, from spinning to strength training, all led by talented trainers who inspire and motivate.
However, there are some areas for improvement. The gym can become quite crowded, especially during peak hours, which can lead to waiting times for equipment. Some members have expressed a desire for longer opening hours, as we currently are not a 24-hour gym. Cleanliness is a priority for us, and we are continuously working to enhance this aspect, especially concerning the availability of sanitary equipment.
Despite some challenges, PureGym London East Sheen is a highly rated gym where fitness enthusiasts can thrive. We are proud to provide a dependable and friendly environment that helps you achieve your fitness goals!

Positive experience: Overall, it's good for the money, but it would be better if we got rid of the spider webs and the rust on some of the equipment.

Fantastic experience: Has everything you need for a great workout. Tons of free weights and benches, machine weights, cardio kit and floor space. And at great value for London gym, why waste £200 a month for David Lloyd

Fantastic experience: Great gym and value for money (I pay just under £50 per month and can use pretty much any other PureGym and bring a guest 4 times per month). The local council-run Shene Sports is £9 per visit. You wot? Only downside… the users. As previous reviewers have stated, not the gym’s fault. Is it really difficult to put weights back in the correct places? Do you really need to spend 30 minutes on one piece of equipment whilst spending 29 minutes of it not doing any exercise and reading Facebook? Only other issue is why individuals park in disabled spaces who have no blue badge… and there is a regular blind user of the gym! Again, nothing to do with the gym itself! Has showers, lockers, decent rowing machines, free weights, decent machines, classes, one-to-one paid for fitness coaches. Think only gym equipment missing is for back extensions. I know of plenty of sports people (from rugby, rowing, football, rowers to pilates and yoga) who use this gym which is a testament to its usefulness. It actually makes me wish PureGym well as a business.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. It has everything you need for a good workout. The manager was very helpful and friendly when I first came to join. The gym is well maintained and clean.

Positive experience: Gym is good, lots of equipment. Only problem is people not re-racking and leaving equipment, plates and dumbbells scattered all around the gym. Completely appreciate this isn't the gym's fault, but it'd be nice if there could be staff in the weights area to call these people out

However we know that at busier times, weights are not always returned and our team complete regular re-sets of the gym. We understand that this is sometimes frustrating for our members, and it is included within our Gym Rules that members should return weights after use. Anybody witnessed leaving equipment out of place will be spoken to by our Gym Team. Negative experience: The Gym is too busy and full with school kids wasting people time while on the phone on the machines and it's not even 24hours

Positive experience: Needs more duplicate equipment because it gets busy! But decent price for a decent gym in the area! 6am opening would be better as well!

Negative experience: Why isn’t there air con anymore?!? The air is still and stale and hot and gross. I spend half my time looking for someone to ask to turn it on. It’s a gym. The aircon should just be on Edit: I’m in the gym now, standing under one of the aircon ducts, and there’s still nothing :( Edit #2: cooler today, star rating increased accordingly

Fantastic experience: The best thing about Pure Gym is Elina - she is an amazing PT with endless enthusiasm and fantastic knowledge . She has given me the confidence and skills to use any machine and not to be intimidated in the weights section with a range of different programmes. Elina is a lot of fun and very encouraging , she is incredibly skilled at making you feel comfortable, and tailoring the session to her clients .

Fantastic experience: Love PureGym East Sheen. The classes are fabulous, the location is convenient and the team are great. Starting with Manager Gab, and AM Vik who are both legends in the gym. Always helpful and welcoming but also great at leading my fave classes. Speaking of fave classes: the spinning and pump classes are great. Good ways to get started in the gym. Over the past year, Elina has been an inspiration. I love the way she motivates the class and keeps the energy high as she shares positive affirmations as we sweat our way through 30 mins of cardio. Thank you Elina for keeping me fit!

Negative experience: No aircon, or when it does work it is so poor the air doesn't move around at all. Rowing machines do not get serviced nor the software on them updated.

Negative experience: this gym is the worst gym in the world. the only good thing about it is the exit. if you thinking don’t, join somewhere elsewhere!

Negative experience: Don’t join this gym. I witnessed a terrorism here it was soooo scary. This gym has gone to the dogs it makes me want to tear out my hair and weep. Don’t join in January if you’re considering it

Negative experience: Pure Gym East Sheen is awfully busy during every hour of the day, I have tried to rejig my schedule to avoid “peak” times but can’t catch a break. From the responses to other reviews given it seems as though they take pride in how “popular” they are and don’t seem to want to do anything about it. Why should you when money is coming in? This gym is incredibly overcrowded meaning waiting around and running for machines takes up most of your workout time. They need to stop accepting new customers or at least extend their hours! Most pure gyms are 24/7 and this one is barely open outside of a normal working day. They think they’re popular but they’re just lucky that they are one of the only affordable gyms in the area. Would be justifiable if they put their money to good use at least, but the women’s bathrooms have been smelling like poo since I can remember and if it rains too much, it rains inside. They also don’t have enough staff to customer ratio as I often feel unsafe as men approach me during my workout and there are no staff insight to report them to! Also a very popular gym amongst teenage groups which make it very difficult for serious gym goers to have a pleasant session. No longer attending this gym and it has definitely put me off considering unmanned gyms in the future.
Negative experience: I used to enjoy going to this gym. I really did. For over a year, in fact. That all changed when a nasty Scottish lady started working there. Now I dread going there, and am made to feel apologetic for attending the gym in the last hour before closing time. Well, I work over 50 hours a week and don’t have the time to go there, apart from 9pm, sorry. Every evening at 9:55pm, the Scottish lady screams at the top of her voice “OK STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING!! THE GYM IS NOW CLOSED!!! PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY OUT!!!! THE GYM IS CLOOOOSED!!!!!” This is very different from everyone else’s approach who works there. The lovely, calm Asian guy goes around to everyone individually and politely says the gym will be closing in 10mins. Here are some other nice things I have noticed since the Scottish lady started: - The music is now switched off 40mins before close. Would it be too much to ask to keep it on until close for YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS??! - The air conditioning is apparently too cold for the Scottish lass, who trundles around the gym wearing a beanie – so it appears it is switched off. Then the Scottish lass has the nerve to complain about the sweaty smell from customers. The other night she audibly discussed this with her colleague, then audibly said “I think it was the guy in the red over there”. Would it be too much to ask to keep the air con on until close for YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS??! - I overheard the Scottish lass saying to a customer that she wants patrons to leave by 10pm, as she ‘only has a chance of doing HER workout between 10-1030pm’. Would it be too much to ask to prioritise the needs of YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS FIRST??!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been doing bodytone and pump classes here for a while and really enjoy them but wanted to build strength. I couldn’t commit to ongoing personal training but I worked with Elina for 3 sessions and she put a training plan together which I can follow myself. She also corrected my lifting technique (so necessary) and showed me alternative exercises if a piece of equipment was in use. I’m so happy to have a personalised plan going forward that I can combine with classes. Best of all, Elina has increased my confidence so I feel better about working out and less inclined to hide in the classes. Really pleased and would highly recommend her.

Fantastic experience: Very good gym, the evening classes with Milan, Hazel and Luca are AMAZING! they re very good trainers! And Tammy is the BEST yoga teacher in East Sheen. However, I don't feel the gym is clean enough to accommodate yoga classes unfortunately and cannot provide the right level of heat needed for a yoga class.

Negative experience: Just joined here. The manager and the staff are nice. The gym is also nice and clean. The problem is that the place is absolutely full at all times. Even on a Tuesday at 1pm. You won’t find one machine or one bench that’s empty. A one hour workout becomes two hours. How are they still allowing new people to join? And why isn’t it open 24 hours if there is clearly so much demand for it. I hope they get it sorted. Ed

Fantastic experience: I like this gym. Joining up during the summer holidays has its downsides as it’s often full of sometimes intense young teen male vibes, but the staff knows what’s up. It’s clean, cool, and the machines are well maintained. I’m glad I joined and I enjoy my 3x per week keeping my body and mind healthy.

Positive experience: I think you guys have to find a solution for the weights been putting in the right place I know that it's not your fault but it's annoying have to try to find the correct weight when they are never in the right place because people are stupid and not organised

Fantastic experience: Friendly and helpful staff make this gym great. There's plenty of equipment and the free weights section is well laid out. The only negative is the quality of some of the machines, but that would be the same at any PureGym location.

Positive experience: Relatively good for the price, especially in Sheen. A welcome addition to the area as a gym of that size had been missing. Quite clean, nice selection of classes, although often I get PT sales pitch, which gets a bit tired. Wish they had a boxing bag though! I once asked and one of the trainers told me I completely missed the point of Pure Gym punching bags are not expensive and easy to hang, so I'm not sure what they were on about.

Positive experience: First time using this gym, and my experience was pleasant. Facilities were clean, good selection of weights and machines it's a decent gym. They do have a small area for parking out front but I parked on a nearby road which I didn't have to pay for.

Positive experience: Good gym for the price. Does get crowded. Would certainly help if they could stretch the opening hours, especially in the mornings and more so on the weekends where 8 am is far too late. Some of the machines are pretty tired and normally one or two are out of service.

Negative experience: I just went to pure gym in East sheen and my first impression wasn’t that great, you can not get in unless you have a code so even when I wanted to just have a look around to see if I wanted to join I couldn’t, I had to buy a 1 day pass, once inside there is no staff or directions as to where the changing rooms are, you have to bring your own padlock or buy one which I was happy to do but I couldn’t find where to buy one and again no staff to ask Didn’t really like the layout if you are on a cross trainer it’s right by the entrance so people constantly walking in and out and I didn’t really like the atmosphere. I’m so disappointed as it’s local and open late. I definitely won’t be joining this one.

Negative experience: The overcrowding at this PureGym is just unpleasant. Almost impossible to get a proper workout in, in the weights section. You pay the same amount to go to a different gym that is 24 hours, whereas this closes fairly early, so you are forced to go at peak times.

Negative experience: It’s OK. I could hardly make myself go. It’s a gym with none of the nice bits. No pool no jacuzzi no sauna. You have to pay extra to have cool water to drink. As a standard member you get warm water from a very poor basic water trickle from a ‘fountain’ designed to fill your mouth not a cup. I keep joining Pure gym then not going and then spending a bit more to go somewhere nice. Then going

We don't have pools/saunas etc. as standard in our gyms as our focus is on providing quality fitness equipment while keeping costs affordable for all members. Water fountains are available in the gym to fill up bottles, there is a Yanga Sports water machine available for members who would like to add a Bolt-on or be on the Plus membership which offers other great membership benefits. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Positive experience: Good range of equipment but very busy at peak time. Limited parking but there's plenty in the surrounding areas. Changing room was clean and no issue within finding locker availability. Location of studio is clearly marked too.

Negative experience: just had my bike stolen at this gym, and many others have had their bikes stolen... don't join this gym if you're intending to get there with a bike, a lock won't help you as they cut the whole rail you'd secure your bike to According to the police the CCTV camera cut off around 8.30pm (the gym closes at 10pm), and on top of that they also said the camera doesnt cover the bike shed properly.

Negative experience: Clean facility but not worth the monthly cost. The gym is constantly busy and it seems impossible to ever use a machine without having to wait at any time of the day. The actual workout space is tiny and there is a limited amount of equipment given how many people use the gym (only one flat bench press).

Positive experience: I have been going to this gym for 3-4 months now. It has most equipment however there is always leaking pipes whilst people are doing sets that keep dripping as well as a musky smell from sinks. I also wanted to note that the staff are nice but some can be overly friendly and force conversations all the time just to gain customers. This is irritating especially during and throughout workouts.

Negative experience: Imagine paying for something but not receiving what you paid for. You'd be annoyed, right? Well this is what PureGym does to customers time and again. Either through over charging, selling services they can't deliver or (as I have read in other comments) taking advantage of students and over charging them at a time when they know everyone's money is tight. Avoid with a wide distance! In my case, I was sold the premium more expensive member so I could bring a buddy. What happened when my buddy receives the email invite? it's demanded that she pays a premium price for a membership with no option to be a buddy for free - as I was sold and paid extra for. Am I offered support or a refund? Of course not. Customer service is limited to online chat bots with noone real to speak with. Now I am left, again, wondering why I signed up for PureGym - I wanted a gym but I'm left with a tiresome, administrative headache. It's all feeling really rather cheap and nasty. Please use other services.

If you have the option to bring a buddy and invite a friend but it asks them to pay rather than providing the free link, this is down to an issue with their email address, i.e they may already be a member with us or have been. Positive experience: The gym is OK and there isn't a better alternative for my type of workouts in the area. Main issues are that it's too crowded at rush hours and people are not putting their weights back.

Positive experience: I've been to several of the puregyms over the last couple of weeks and this was one of my favourites. Nice atmosphere. Good spin class. Just slightly awkward when the cleaning lady was cleaning the showers while I was in them (they do have signs warning that this may happen, but doesn't stop it being awkward).

Positive experience: Great gym, good facilities, cost wise its affordable. I mainly use the classes which I feel are an adequate workout for a beginner! The only issue I would raise is the '3 strikes and your banned from classes' rule. In my personal experience, I don't feel it is a reliable way to monitor activity. I was banned from classes within a few months of becoming a member. Only one of the missed sessions I was aware of, the other session I cancelled within the 4 hr window, and the second, I attended but wasn't marked off the register! Even though the member who helped me at Pure Gym was lovely and accommodating, I still didn't appreciate the injustice of being banned and unable to use classes for almost a week.

Positive experience: Always a blast, all I say tho is Monday evenings after work is crazy busy. It's always clean and it's got good equipment. They could definitely have the A/C up higher though. Otherwise a happy customer

Fantastic experience: Attended a nutrition and lifestyle workshop with Elina. It was a breath of fresh air to hear somebody talk about what you should be thinking about outside of the gym as well as whilst you are there. Overall health is so often overlooked , especially by me when I think I'm doing all I can by attending classes! I would highly recommend the introduction of these workshops across the Puregym network. Elina herself is an absolute inspiration and great role model. And her fitness classes are just brilliant!

Negative experience: I just joined online and came to the gym to trial it out. When i couldn't get in, i rang the bell and explained to said to the team member that I've just joined, he let me in and said, "go to the gym". How disappointing! I thought I would be welcomed and shown around, perhaps help with the machinery am not familiar with would have helped :(

Negative experience: £35, the second/third-highest fee for a gym that: 1) Is littered with rubbish Matrix equipment (what on earth is a diverging lat pull down?) 2) Isn't 24 hours (if these are council regulations then this should be factored in to the price) 3) Is too small and hence misses out on a lot of machines that even other PureGyms have (e.g. a hack squat) while they are also much cheaper
Fantastic experience: This gym is the best and distinguishes it from others with its kind treatment in terms of staff and trainers. I give it five stars and more. My favorite coach which is the reason I love sports because he is a professional coach Gabriel

Positive experience: It's okay, but really needs to be 24 hours. 6:30 is not early enough for people sorting out family and going to work. As a result, you get forced into the clog of afterwork crowds. If it was 24 hour or much earlier opening this place would be perfect.

Positive experience: Great no frills Gym. Clean and good set of equipments and not too busy. Not much of a staff around but what you pay is what you get. I really like the fact that there is parking, limited spaces, but usually I do get a spot. Also sports water is a good touch for plus membership, yet to try classes. Overall I will highly recommend this gym if you don't want anything extra like swimming pool, courts, sauna, etc.

Negative experience: The gym is quite good, but there is a massive problem(the sanitary equipment). Especially during Covid it should be important that the gym equipment gets cleaned often. Sadly the disinfectant sprays are often broken, the hand sanitizer bottles are broken or empty, and sometimes there isnt enough paper to wipe the equipment after use. Hopefully this gets improved on soon. If the sanitary equipment would be better, I would give the gym a 4 star rating.

Positive experience: I have been to many gyms in my life and this Pure Gym, for what you get versus what you spend, is right up there. I would like to give it 4.5 stars. The only reason not 5 stars is because it's not 24 hour, but if you have a car or a bike you can go to PureGym Twickenham in a pinch which IS 24 hour. You can make it so that for your PureGym membership you can visit that gym for free any amount of times. I also recommend the Waterloo PureGym which has a fantastic building with a lot of character. As for the gym, it's about as good as a commercial gym can be. It is not hardcore, of course, but the free weights go to 50kg, there are 2 racks with safeties, a Smith machine and two big racks with no safeties meaning you can reliably get space to deadlift if anything and you usually get a chance to squat pretty easily with maybe a 5-10 minute wait at the most.

Positive experience: Not once I walked into this gym and the bench press was free always have to wait 30-40 mins cuz they have only one bench press.

Positive experience: Just like any other gym but with parking. limited spaces available that is used by gym instructor parking their car for most of the day and seen multiple maintenance vans parked at the gym and it's not like they have to carry heavy equipment inside....
