Fantastic experience: Went here this afternoon to be greeted by Owen who was very polite and helpful..showed us around then joint us with the help of Chloe who was very pleasant also ..what a lovely place and very helpful and pleasant staff

Fantastic experience: Went to my grandsons 6th party and he had the best time on bouncy castle and assault course also lil bikes, carts,hoops him and his friends never stopped until it was time for food which was all set up for us tables and chairs for correct amount of people we did lunch boxes for them and plenty of juices. Very good value for money I think my other daughter in law has booked my granddaughters 6th birthday party there as well. Staff at hand and very friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: Awful gym. Just got another email saying that they’ve increased the gym membership price to £47. It’s a small gym, tight space and membership includes a swimming pool (which is pointless because I only use the gym facilities). They brought in a few new bits of gym equipment and used that as an opportunity to increase the membership price for the second time this year. How disappointing. I’m planning on cancelling my membership and going elsewhere.

Negative experience: ** STAY AWAY ** Membership price has increased twice in 6 months. £47 a month for a tiny gym filled with cardio equipment, no space to move? It’ll be £50 next week. It’s so OVERCROWDED all evening you can’t train. No sauna, steam room etc, nothing worth the constant random price increases. Go to Anytime Fitness (same price, better gym) or Core Fitness for £20 a month…

Negative experience: Great place to train until you hurt yourself in the gym. Knee injury hasn’t healed still hobbling around after 2 months then tried to go swimming but have to book not just turn up. Tried to cancel membership as i can’t run or train and been told i have to pay for another 6 months as it’s a contract total rip off

Fantastic experience: Kids been coming here to swim, felpful staff, friendly swimming teachers, clean pool and changing area, shower ok, would avoid going barefoot inside though as a lot of people walk in with their shoes. Would love to have a try of their gym.

Positive experience: I'm a regular in the gym, 4 - 6 times every week. The gym is clean, well equipped for the size, there are busy times when even if it were double the size wouldn't be enough, but that's understandable. The staff is nice and friendly as well, overall good value for the price. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars (I think 3.5 would be the most appropriate score) is because of the overuse of air conditioning and cooling. When working out and all sweaty and wet and the A/C is blasting cold air directly on you doesn't feel great. I spoke to a few other members who shared my opinion on this one. It's not healthy, it can cause back and neck pain (speaking from experience), you can even catch a cold. The temperature is fine, but if they could be directed somewhere else to blow the cold air, which is not impossible,I'd give 8 out of 5 stars lol.

Negative experience: Just trying to get family swim prices was impossible online. Had to create an account to even attempt to get that information. Still unable to find anything about family swimming, only individual bookings. The booking process sucks and I found it so frustrating that I gave up. Sorry, no custom from me!

Fantastic experience: Very good

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed doing my 1pm until 2pm disability session. The changing rooms was all new the main swimming lanes was a lot better. Thank you to one of the team who helped us to set up a padlock for the lockers 10/10 for a great session. Overall it was a brilliant afternoon just me and my mum.

Negative experience: We attended for the HAF swimming session, which my children can only cope with about 40 minutes at a time. My Dad came with us so we had to pay for him. At £6.10 for 40 minutes it was very expensive. Especially as my Dad is 75 so no discount for OAP or the fact it was a short play session. Will not be attending again.

Fantastic experience: Turned up on spec on Easter Monday without a booking and asked to do a lane swim (GLL Palmer Park had 'forgotten' to provide sufficient lanes for those who thought they were coming for a laned swim session). The Bulmershe Leisure Centre front desk was accommodating and allowed me to go in straight away and straddle 2 sessions with a tacit understanding for me to be aware of the change. They even loaned me a locker padlock (much appreciated)- as when I'd left home, I had not anticipated that I would be swimming at Bulmershe.

Fantastic experience: I swim 2 times a week. This pool is excellent very clean nice changing rooms and helpful staff

Positive experience: Small work out room i have to avoid after 16:00 too many kids standing around on every machine.

Fantastic experience: Nice gym with friendly staff. Really happy with George Putland's PT sessions. As a beginner with previous knee injury I've been able to make good progress improving my strength and confidence in the gym. Would recommend.

Negative experience: The badminton courts are very slippery

Positive experience: We went to one of my granddaughters' birthday party. We were in a had first of with 3 x bouncy castles. Then, after an hour, we went upstairs for food. It was well organised

Negative experience: Unbelievably terrible. Avoid swimming classes. Cancelled twice after the start time so a very upset 4 year old and they do not care. To change the time slot to avoid this they want a 15pound payment for admin. No one at reception so have to crawl under the barrier to get to classes.

Fantastic experience: I booked 5 PT sessions with Marcus who was absolutely brilliant. Being a 52 year old out of shape guy I found Marcus’s Easy going Manner, knowledge and expertise invaluable in getting back up and running at the gym

Positive experience: the swimming time table favours school kids but overall it's dope

Negative experience: Not impressed with this gym, the booking app which is needed to book classes swimming etc is beyond rubbish. If you think you can join up and book two weeks ahead think again. The app is slow and doesn’t load, locks you out all the time.The gym is also tiny with very little equipment. The one good thing going for Bulmershe it is clean. I suspect this is because the building is new so won’t last long being council run. If you do want to join don’t sign into a contract at first this place needs to be tried out. Also when they have swimming with the inflatable in the main pool it has gone health and safety mad! rather than all Going on and having a good time. You wear a life jacket and que up two by two in the pool area waiting you turn to have a go! Waiting for the 20 or so other people to go first. Don’t waste your money.

Fantastic experience: I booked some personal training sessions for my 12 year old with Marc Copperthwaite. He was absolutely brilliant with my son, taking it at just the right pace and building his confidence. He's happy going to the gym for junior sessions now and is confident in using all the equipment and free weights. Marc has great experience with juniors. I would highly recommend him and it's a lovely gym!

Fantastic experience: Nice modern pool with a baby pool adjacent. Hour long sessions for baby swim. Depth under one metre and a good temperature. Plenty of parking, and a nice cafe that overlooks the pool.

Positive experience: Really easy to book a family swim online. It's a shame it's only an hour, but still. The pool is lovely, very clean & good lifeguards and lovely warm showers & lots of changing spaces. My only gripe is that you need a padlock to use a locker - perhaps noting this on the booking page might be useful? It cost us £5.50 just to secure our belongings! They didn't have any locks to borrow so purchasing was the only option. But otherwise a lovely swim.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 service. Great gym with great equipment and friendly staff who are happy to help with all of your queries. Marc is a fantastic personal trainer; he is clearly highly experienced, very friendly and encouraging. He will push you to get the most out of your sessions and beyond. I would highly recommend taking out a membership with this gym and definitely booking some personal training if you are on the fence, you will not regret your decision.

Fantastic experience: Lovely pool, with a small three foot pool for beginners but deep enough for adults to swim too which is lovely and warm! You need to take a padlock for your locker, and at family fun sessions they do not provide any toys etc you need to take your own.

Fantastic experience: Professional staff, polite and helpful. Has a fantastic gym facility and a secondary gym for rehabilitation therapy, sports hall for actives and 2 swimming pools, a main pool, and a shallow 92cm or 62cm training pool.

Negative experience: I used to brave the pool every Tuesday evening but the water is just too cold now. On the look out for an alternative pool. Such a shame as it’s local and new. I complained after the last visit. The manager told me he checks it in the morning and it’s the temperature it’s always been since the centre opened!! Customers don’t agree and they are now leaving!

Positive experience: Super modern leisure centre. Badminton courts are good but showers are bad. They’re one of those ones where you have to keep spamming the on button.

Negative experience: I booked on line for the first time. The website did not list times just early 6am and late. Turned up and let in to swim at 0815. At 9am lifeguard told me time was up. I informed her that I did not get in until 0815 and that I had paid £5.70 for a 1 hour session. I swam another length and then found 2 men standing by the poolside. Quite threatening really!! Pool was empty. Happy to take your money. Well that was my first and last time I would go there. I shall leave them the same star rating on google and trust pilot

Fantastic experience: I loved it.. Super nice and clean and spacious. It has a coffee area too in case your little one is on a lesson and you want to see them. In my case, it was a coffee after an hour of swimming that made it all so lush.

Positive experience: Clean facilities, swimming lessons selection is unnecessarily difficult to get the right teacher for your child. Mary is an excellent teacher but she's leaving to go to Wokingham.

Negative experience: Dodged a bullet here, their online booking system is terrible. I verified my email address when creating an online account (to book a free tour of all things), but the website said there was an error even though verification occurred. I was looking for a place to swim in Reading and initially settled on here, but after reading reviews regarding the poor customer service (not responding to emails but always chasing up regarding direct debits and payments) and the terrible website, I decided to look elsewhere. To top it all off and to give an idea of how bad their website is, it wouldn't let me cancel my free tour, no matter how many times I clicked the button or refreshed the page. So if you've paid for a session and want to cancel - good luck. I'll be fine at the Rivermead.

Positive experience: Shiny new facility. Good bike parking. Knocking a star off for never having family sessions in the big pool.

Fantastic experience: Such a great gym to go to has practically everything i am looking for and it's not badly price. Its only missing a sauna but that no big deal for me. Staff are really friendly and happy to help.

Negative experience: Good luck getting someone to answer the phone at this place!! So many days tried, never spoken to a single person in 10-15 odd minutes each time, just given up having never set foot in the place because I can't get info! Ridiculous!

Positive experience: Updating my review(8/3/2023) The service has improved significantly and now have no problems with booking. The staff is friendly and try to be helpful! Think over time the staff have learned and probably, are better trained and now have got hang of the system. March 2022 I am sick of their booking system. Every time I book and use the Leisure centre the person at the front desk deliberately or other wise does not mark my attendance. Which means that the next time I try to book online I can't because there is a charge put on my account due to non-attendence. I them have to call the centre which mostly they do not pick up. I have corrected them four or five times but these people it seems enjoy making people miserable. Usually I end up not going to the leisure centre. It seems their entire system is set up to frastrate and annoy customers. Absolutely pathetic and ridiculous.

Positive experience: New building, and facilities are up to date and clean. Great improvement on the old centre.

Today was the first chance I had to swim with my baby, due to this whole horrible covid situation, and I had to sit and watch as there was nowhere secure to leave our things. I'm absolutely devastated. I don't think I can go here again.

Positive experience: Pretty decent facilities tho not managed nor maintained on a daily basis which will result in the life expectancy of the place being less than the norm. It's a pile them high set up which I guess is what you pay for but not for me.

Fantastic experience: Great place to work out with a good range of fitness and weights equipment. Doesn't get too busy and they've controlled the numbers really well. Swimming facilities are really good too. Being brand new is a major plus point, but the staff are really friendly too. Overall, definitely worth considering if you're looking to join a new gym.

Negative experience: Joined to book morning gym sessions and family swim sessions and was not able to get either. Family swims only on offer one day per week so you're basically paying full price so that the local schools can benefit from the pool instead of you. And you can't book a gym session before 6.30am in the morning - do they know what century they're operating in?!?
