Nuffield Health Warwick Fitness & Wellbeing Gym

Negative experience: This place back in Feb was beautiful. I'd never seen a gym so clean and been constantly maintained to stay as so. 6 months later and I'm throwing up in the showers because the smell of rotten eggs and poo is so strong I couldn't finish showering. Constant kids screaming at the top of thier lungs and the parents do nothing to calm them down or to lower thier volume like its a play area. The changing rooms are filthy now. Orange peel all over the place, guys cleaning out thier sinuses and spitting thier phlegm onto the shower floors (this is constant and they make no effort to hide it the dirty sods) the staff don't day anything to them even tho it's a Major health risk to everyone else. I'm seeing people come strait out the sauna/steam room and jumping into the pool without showering infornt of staff member who dont say anything and just keep playing with thier finger nails. The pool is split into 4 lanes by ability but you get Hugh old dudes going into the swimming lanes and just walk laps making it impossible for anyone else to use that lane while the pool next door is empty. I dont want people to think the all the pool dtaff are lazy as there are a few who actually call people out for been slobs and pigs buts only 3 staff members. All in all for £100 a month this place is no long worth the price. There used to be 2 cleaners in the changing room at all times as wrll as a jacuzzi. Both those things are gone now but it's still £100 a month. I do t recommend this place to people now

Negative experience: Been a member for roughly 5 years now, the gym was already too busy back then and has only been getting steadily worse over the years, now it’s ridiculously busy anywhere near peak times. Loads of cardio machines (that are barely used) but nowhere were near enough weight training equipment. The gym is regularly uncomfortably warm, air con is either broken or turned right down to save money. They have also removed the hot tub and stopped providing towels, again I assume to save money? For all this they charge premium fees, and keep increasing them, whilst posting on their instagram every week about how they are giving out free 7 day passes. I pay significantly less than the standard fee due to a discount through my employer and even then I’m not sure it’s worth it. If I wasn’t getting a discount I wouldn’t be anywhere near this gym and certainly wouldn’t recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym. A little more expensive than others, but in my opinion well worth it. Poolside is beautiful. Great for the kids with the Crèche and junior classes they provide (all included in my kids membership). Gym can be busy after work, but has more than enough kit, I’ve never not managed to get a workout in. Classes are great too, and there’s so many!!

Negative experience: Very small gym. Too busy and not enough equipment. Music from the classes way too loud. Day pass way overpriced. Treadmills face the wall.

Negative experience: Over subscribed. Too many members and too little equipments. Have to wait for a long time for most of the equipment . I live close to the gym. Sadly, left the gym due to this. They need to increase the capacity by 150% at least.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member for over a year now and here are my pros and cons for this facility. Pros: the staff are lovely, willing to help, welcoming and friendly. There is a great sauna and steam room. The facility is usually clean. There is a lot of cardio machines. They inform you via text when a certain facility is out of order(e.g pool). Cons: The price keeps going up(understandable with the economy) but they also made cuts, no hot water in kiddy pool, no towels amongst other things. There is no SMITH MACHINE. I’ve asked about this countless times with no answer, it is very beneficial to have those as not many people have the balance for squat racks. There are some other basic machines that are missing. Some of the machines break constantly so they have an “out of order” poster on it for a whileee. The gym is soo full, so get ready to wait for a machine or for the mat area. It sometimes feels like it’s over subscribed. I think of leaving because of the lack of some machinery but this is the only place with a pool and sauna close by.

Negative experience: My son has been going swimming lessons for at least 4 years and my (3 year old) daughter has recently joined and the classes are good and staff friendly but now with the membership price rises they are trying to offer budget facilities for premium prices. Children's pool is cold, they’ve put limiters on the showers so you can’t get proper hot showers. They've removed towels to cut costs. £17 membership fee for a 3 year old and then you add swimming fees on top. For us it didn’t make sense.. but maybe if you are using the full facilities it’s different

Positive experience: Clean, tidy, welcoming and supportive staff team. Enjoyable and positive workout experience. Updated. Be aware of what contract you are entering into. I'm in a '12 month commitment!' which is almost impossible to cancel, you may be able to if you're medically certificated unable to attend!! Read what your contract your entering and signing.

Negative experience: Swimming pool now split into 4 lanes, become very crowded in the family lane and very dangerous. Management think that everybody is a great swimmer, thats not the case. They only want swimmers that can continuously swim up and down, for those that can’t then you haven’t a chance at this gym. They just don’t listen, only to the chosen few.

Negative experience: Very friendly staff and good classes but disappointed in the cuts they've made recently. Children's pool is now cold, my little boy no longer enjoys his lessons. They've removed the jacuzzi & towels to cut costs and also put up membership prices.

Fantastic experience: A lovely lady called jenny served me today with spa vouchers for Xmas presents. Very polite and patient. A credit to the nuffield team.xxx

Fantastic experience: A friendly,clean,well resourced gym . Love it.

Negative experience: The quality of this gym has deteriorated over the past few years especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. There are now no free towels so you have to take your own for a shower, the hot tub has been removed, the gym is way too busy and the membership price has drastically increased and is now way too much.

Fantastic experience: Went for a gym session followed by a swim. Chatted to the life guard, Amy, very friendly and welcoming. Also, very attentive, looked like she was doing a smashing job. 10/10 would recommend.

Positive experience: They need to bring the Jacuzzi back

Fantastic experience: Wow, just wow. This gym, it's facilities and staff are just brilliant. My partner and I booked a tour and were met by a very friendly member of staff (Liam), who showed us the gym, pool area and other facilities. From the minute I stepped through the doors, I knew this was the gym for me. It was clean, inviting and up to date with good equipment. Needless to say, we signed up there and then! Being a member of HM Forces, I received a nice discount on my membership and for a 12 month contract, it's a good price. I love that you get a free PT session and health check every six weeks so you can track your progress for personal fitness goals. Haven't used the pool yet but I have used the sauna and steam room, both of which are lovely and clean and perfect for a post workout chill and sweat!

Fantastic experience: I recently renewed for another year. Friendly and knowledgable staff throughout. Spacious and clean facilities. I't recommend it.

Negative experience: Joined less than a week ago, and already quit. Full of men that think it’s acceptable to walk out the Sauna dripping with their greasy, dirty sweat, and then getting directly into the swimming pool. Absolutely disgusting. Witnessed it on 3/4 occasions. Went last night for a swim, and couldn’t get in the pool because of it. Won’t be going back

Negative experience: The swimming pool is always overcrowded.

Negative experience: Good spa Facilities. Decent gym equipment but too many cardio machines and a lack of resistance machines. Key things that are missing is a Smith Machine, and a physical sled/track for functional excercises. Opening hours are really poor. They actually close at 9:45. They no longer give you towels which at the price point let's it down too.

Fantastic experience: Great gym equipment and superb swimming pool, steam, sauna and spa. Above all very friendly staff...! A single place for our complete family to be fit and enjoy ☺️

Negative experience: Insanely busy, like disgustingly so and very very expensive. Avoid.

Negative experience: Dropped a 38kg dumbbell on my peepee. Very disappointed with my visit.

Negative experience: More users than the gym can handle, far too busy to have a productive workout. Not enough machines to handle the amount of people turning up. Weekends they close too early, and in the week they don't open early enough in my opinion. Birmingham Nuffield was markedly better, with more machines and cleaner facilities.

Negative experience: Not impressed. Highly expensive, No added value compared to any other gym for extra money. Took 2 months extra fee by playing word tricks on contract while cancelling membership.

Negative experience: Plenty of services offered but hygiene is horrible, disgusting. The floor inside is filthy, around the pools so much hair. Toilets look like they haven't had a good cleaning for a long time. Completely disappointed. Around the mirrors tiles need a decent cleaning. Also have noticed people come to poolside wearing dirty shoes. Wasn't expecting this in such an area.

Fantastic experience: Been a member of a few different gyms but this is my all time favourite! Modern hi-tech equipment with plenty to choose from. Membership is expensive compared to other gyms but you get what you pay for.

Fantastic experience: Nice gym and good classes too. Love the yoga classes.

Fantastic experience: I dont often write reviews, however... Staff were really excellent, Sam Knot in particular was very accommodating and helpful as I am currently on crutches and am trying to find a pool to do some of my hydro exercises in. Very nice laid back atmosphere, pools were clean and sauna was lovely. They had a nice selection of swim stuff aswell! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: The membership cost is a bit pricey but over all I’ve never been to a gym that’s more looked after as this one.

Negative experience: Getting very tired, in need of a refresh badly. Often dirty and despite raising concerns most things haven't been addressed in over a year since raising them.

Fantastic experience: It a great place

Positive experience: Came in to use the swimming pool as the one at my usual Nuffield is currently closed. Staff were really welcoming and the swimming facilities were great. Very clean changing rooms and poolside. My 4-year old was a big fan of the kids pool. My only disappointment was the café, where some of the tables were dirty. I only mention it as we were pretty much the only customers, so it was not the case that staff were rushed off their feet.

Positive experience: Great gym.

Negative experience: Not happy paying £100 per month and also being subjected to adverts between music tracks in the gym. Even I am a member its not clear what sevices are included. After 6 months, still waiting for an induction appointment.

Positive experience: Pretty good gym and certainly the best you will find in south Warwickshire. With the recent overpopulation of this end of town through excessive house building I'd say it''s getting a little cramped in here now. The gym could do with expansion but with an already busy car park it would need to acquire adjacent land, relocate or build upwards. Not sure how feasible any of those are. It could do with some local competition to reduce overcrowding and put pressure on a slightly over-inflated monthly membership fee. Locker rooms also could do with a facelift and I feel there needs to be a more clever system for making sure people don't take locker keys out the building. There are quite a few 'private lockers' in the male changing rooms. That said, the weights area is decently equipped and generally well-maintained. The pool facilities are good, staff polite and friendly. Towels are clean and always available, showers warm and complimentary soap. Clientele is generally affluent. Lots of cardio equipment. I do wish there were a few more free weight plates around but there are a ton of dumbbells, 3 squat racks, a central body-weight and circuit training area, numerous weight machines, cable racks, spinning area and a couple of class rooms (which I don't personally use). I've not really used any of the physio or 'pampering' facilities. The positives massively outweigh the negatives, but it's not perfect so 4*.

Negative experience: Struggling to see why they charge 80 odd pound for a membership, the warwickshire is 95£ and better value for money. Gym and swimming facilities average.

Negative experience: Kids pool is good. Lifeguards are overly cautious and sensitive. "Please keep your baby's head above water. It's dangerous and it's stressing me out"... I guess we'll go do our baby swimming and breathing exercises somewhere else then, I'm so sorry I stressed you out, you can go back sitting by the pool and do nothing.

Fantastic experience: Great classes; yoga, spin, Combat etc. Recommend running clubs for improving performance. Friendly staff and nice lounge area with coffee and smoothies. I always feel better after a visit here!

Negative experience: Where should I start? Classes: if you don't book two weeks in advance then most of the classes are fully booked. Gym: if you're interested in using usual gym equipment then there's better value for money elsewhere. I paid for physio, which suggested some exercises that I cannot practice due to the Skill zone being always busy with other classes (despite it being in the middle of the gym in an open area). Sauna and jacuzzi: these have been very smelly for a while now and jacuzzi is in times too cold or excessively hot. I have provided this feedback already. Unfortunately I have an year's contract and therefore cannot do anything about this. I feel like I'm wasting money, time and health (in stress).

Negative experience: Not impressed at all. I was considering changing over from the David Lloyd but this is not a patch on it. The gym area is small and both the sauna and the jacuzzi were not working!! The worst experience for me was in the cafe. Ordered a latte which did not taste of coffee at all so sent it back - consistency of dishwater. Large woman there very rude and basically said that's what you asked for. She reluctantly made another one which was exactly the same!! By this point I'd had enough and wanted my money back. Despite asking for my money back she proceeded to make another horrible coffee - I was later told that the machine was old, didn't have enough beans in it and was probably not working properly - not really my problem!! After the third coffee was rudely presented to me I decided to go up to the reception counter to complain. The manager came out and didn't seem that bothered, offered me my money back. She explained about the beans in the machine etc. Well why bother serving it if the machine isn't working properly??? Really put me off the place. Waste of time. Wouldn't go there if it was free, certainly wouldn't pay £70 for that. I thought Nuffield was meant to be a premier brand. This was no better than a council run one.

Negative experience: Stupidly expensive if you threaten to leave they won't try to keep or bargain your business. Had been at nuffield Warwick for 4 years. Peak times forget It... you can't even approch the car park as there are cars pooling out and having to park down the road due to high peak times. Free weight area often find yourself fighting to get a bench or squat rack. Only 1 Bench press ( constantly have people ask how many sets you have left. A 45m workout turns into 1:30hr as you have to wait to use equipment. Free weight area is so cramped you will be shoulder barging through to use the equipment. Not worth its price/ showers are dingy and smell with poor lighting

Negative experience: Poor customer service at cafe.. I ordered a skinny latte. It was very milky so I asked for extra coffee shot. But the staff who served us didn't like the fact we asked her to make it again even though we paid extra for coffee shot. When she brought the coffee, I said ' Thank you very much!'. But she completely ignored me and put the coffee down with a big noise on the table with a grumpy face and walked away. Not impressed..

Fantastic experience: The gym has everything you need with the bonus of a pool, steam room, and sauna. Friendly/ helpful staff and nice food. Kids play area is also very good and useful.

Positive experience: Very good gym would like to see both pools open earlier after speaking to people that i know the reason they left was the smaller pool was not open earlier enough which is what they use to use because of limitations in what they can do other than a great gym

Fantastic experience: Great gym, loads of equipment. ALWAYS cardio machines available even when busy. They have a life fitness Synergy 360 which is great. Loads of good weights, dumb bells up to 40kg, 2 good squat racks, loads of benches and preacher curl benches. Hard to fault really.

Fantastic experience: I swam at Nuffield Health Warwick for the first time yesterday and can thoroughly recommend it. Lovely spacious pool and excelent steam room and sauna. Complimentary post-workout coffee is a nice touch too. One suggestion guys: make the water a degree or two cooler. That's about it.
