Our comment from FitFit UK about Rena Health & Leisure:
Rena Health & Leisure is a spa located in Central London that boasts a range of amenities, including a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Many visitors have enjoyed their experiences at the spa, highlighting the clean facilities and friendly staff. The spa offers complimentary refreshments like coffee, tea, and biscuits, enhancing the overall experience. A standout feature mentioned by users is the high-quality massages provided by therapists such as Ishani, who come highly recommended.
However, some guests have reported issues during their visits, with complaints about poor customer service, maintenance, and the cleanliness of the pool and jacuzzi areas. Certain reviews mention that the pool can get crowded, particularly when children are present, which detracts from the relaxing atmosphere expected in a spa setting. Additionally, some treatments did not meet expectations, with instances of rushed service and insufficient communication regarding bookings.
Despite these downsides, the spa's attentive staff and well-maintained treatment rooms continue to receive praise, making Rena Health & Leisure a decent choice for those seeking a spa experience in London.
Rena Health & Leisure: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Just been to this spa. Got it for a special deal from spa breaks. I had a lush time. It was for two hours but the staff didn’t chase me out and so I stayed for four hours. I’m a keen swimmer, so I swam for two hours. The facilities are great, and look pretty new. You get free coffee, tea and biscuits. I will definitely be back. I’m so chilled now - hahahaha. ☺️
Positive experience: Usually pretty quiet in the spa area but the reception team act quite prestige. Gym facility quite decent. Spa consists on a decent sized swimming pool. Jaccuzi for 2 people that know each other otherwise very small to share with others. Strong steam room and a nice sauna. Also has a room where the tiles are heated. Good to just relax and sweat slowly.
Negative experience: This was my worst spa experience I have had for years. Leonardo hotel looks great on the pictures and its 4* so I thought it will be great to go to spa there. I was waiting for a spa day for a while, but this place was really disappointing. To start with I was given a robe and towels at reception, went to changing rooms and found that robe had a belt missing and huge hole on the pocket! this should really go to bin , not to the customer! Then swimming pool water was quite cold and uncomfortable, also the water was a bit muddy, I noticed that people didn't really go to shower after sauna and steam room and it was quite busy there, so swimming in that water wasn`t great. I realised why as I couldn't see the shower myself! its not obvious at all where its based.. there was a blocked sink in the steam room and finally the was NO Hot water in the showers in changing rooms when I got back, I couldn't take a shower at the end!! Thats ridiculous for the 4* place... Also I were supposed to be offered tea/coffee, biscuits as part of the voucher through Spabreaks but I never been offered this either. The reception staff doesn't give a sh..t, I would never come back and would never recommend this place to anyone.I have been in quite a few spas in London and this was the worst, and waste of money!
Negative experience: I booked a spa day for my birthday, on 17 October, via Spa breaks. On the day, I because I'll, so I called Rena Spa to let them know and request it be re-booked. Nobody picked up, so I emailed. I got a response email saying unfortunately I could not re book, as they needed to be informedc24 hrs prior. I was told to appeal via spa breaks, who may say the same thing. I called spa breaks and through sobs, I explained what had happened. The kind person said that they had no problem re booking my appointment, especially given the circumstances- having a terribly upset stomach on my birthday. She placed me on hold to call Rena Spa. When she got back to me, she told me that Rena Spa were still saying after she spoke with them, which baffled her also. I was so saddened at this news, why tell me to appeal, if you were never going to enforce the decision made by spa breaks. I will never book with Rena spa again, this was my first and last time. I lost £172 and had no empathy or customer care.
Fantastic experience: I went for the spa and massage Amazing
Negative experience: ⚠️ The spa booked mine and my partners treatments separately and we were completely unable to get in touch to amend this leading up to the appointment. As we could not get in touch after several attempts using the details provided directly in the confirmation email, we were also unable to cancel. Rather than losing our money we decided to go along and roll with it. Upon arrival, there was no availability to put the treatment times together, so rather than spend 2 hours apart during our limited time there, we decided to skip the treatments all together and just enjoy the facilities (which they did not show us around btw). The receptionist informed me that there would be no compensation and stated that I should have specified in the "special request" notes that I wanted the treatments at the same time. The pool was nice, water feature was broken. There is a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna all in desperate need of some TLC. Rust, mould and hazards presented themselves. They tell you in an email after booking that there is no seating around the pool and the entire facility is used by hotel guests (including children). All in all, the time spent was average. We left feeling a bit cheated and so the next day I decided to send an email expressing this. I was met with defensiveness and blame yet again resulting an a very unpleasant back and forth. My aim was to get a sincere apology and provide feedback to help them improve the customer experience. The response they gave was unprofessional and I won't be going back nor will I be recommending to anyone. Blaming customers for business failings is outrageous, I was being courteous by emailing privately but the reaction I got ended up being the thing that tipped this place from incredibly average to frankly terrible.
Negative experience: I don’t know why people rate it so highly. It’s a small place and it’s VERY hazardous ⚠️ around the pool area and in the jacuzzi. Wouldn’t recommend to spend your money at this spa. You can find better and bigger ones.
Fantastic experience: Had a very relaxing and peaceful experience at this Spa. Everything from booking to arrival to treatments was well organised and professional. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Very clean and well kept facilities exceeded expectations will definitely be back.
Positive experience: The pool area was fine, shame it was small and nowhere to sit around the outside. It’s not very relaxing to share the pool with kids so be aware of timings when you book. My massage was pretty naff - she didn’t use firm or deep pressure like I requested. I don’t know whether she was new or tired, but she sat down for the majority of the treatment and played with my hair! Also, noticed the scent of someone else’s perfume when I lay face down on the bed, so the towel underneath hadn’t been changed in between treatments…
Fantastic experience: If your going to go here request for kehinde she was very polite and professional and she made me feel welcome as it was my first time at a spa. (Her massages are great) After the session she offered me some tea and took me to the relaxation room, she is so kind and made me feel comfortable. Please request her ❤️
Positive experience: After deciding that my body and brain needed a break from a demanding work and family life, I checked myself in for a mini Spa/City break at this establishment yesterday and chose the 'Indulgence Day' package for £125 (£115 from Monday to Thursday). Overall, I really enjoyed my time here! I fulfilled my personal reason for being there which was to take some time out for myself in a nice, relaxing environment. On arrival, I was greeted in a very friendly and friendly way by the Spa Receptionist who then proceeded to tell me that regretfully, the hotel had planned a fire alarm/full evacuation at 12noon which was literally in the middle of my treatments! She advised that they had only been briefed about it that morning. After some negotiating, we came to an amicable agreement which I was pleased with. After completing the usual consultation info, I was given my robe, slippers and towel and introduced to my Massage Therapist ISHANI was absolutely excellent! She is personable, friendly and professional. She delivered wonderful back, shoulder, neck, facial and head massages. She also offered me tea, biscuits and water in between my treatments. Afterwards, I was shown to the relaxation room which is very quiet, but quite small, so I'm unsure how this is managed on busier days, but quite frankly, that's not my concern. After spending some time absorbing how light and relaxed I felt, I returned to the Spa Receptionist to collect my locker key. The Lockers and Changing facilities were clean and spacious. I then proceeded to enjoy the Steam Room, Sauna and Jacuzzi. There is also a pool which is adequate to have a few lengths of swimming etc. To improve the experience, better signage of how to find the main entrance of the spa would be useful. I asked the hotel's main reception who were friendly and professional. Also, if there is a planned fire alarm/full evacuation practice, it would have been better to offer guests/ clients more adequate notice out of courtesy. I can imagine that not all guests/clients would have responded in a calm way which would have been completely understandable. Also, I wasn't offering the £10 voucher - I would have welcomed this being taken off of the over price for my spa package. However to conclude, I will return to this establishment and if possible, personally request to have ISHANI as my Massage Therapist, although according to other reviews, her colleagues are just as good! The location of the Hotel Spa is great too, lots of shops, places to eat and of course At Paul's Cathedral is literally on your doorstep if you fancy a visit.
Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful day
Negative experience: Poor customer experience. Seems they don't really make an effort to understand customer needs.
Positive experience: It’s a nice spa, I like the fact it has a jacuzzi, steam room, aromatherapy room and sauna. The treatments are alright not the best out there. There are places you can go where it is quieter, more for adults. Because it was noisy at times here. The facilities could benefit from a slight upgrade- because at the end of the day it is not cheap. But if you get there on time you will have no problems. Also the reception lady was friendly. Not enough lounge chairs either and people hog them. I still had a relaxing time, but it could be better. I am not a fussy person, so the little things don’t bother me too much but for the cost of things it should be better.
Positive experience: Kehinde my masseuse was AMAZING, I had a very relaxing body and scalp massage, Kehinde was by far the best part of my experience. The spa facilities were basic with no loungers to relax on in between the pool / sauna / steam. The afternoon tea was really poor. It seems the sandwiches had been made a few days before, they were cold and hard, the little cakes were hard and dry with uninspiring fillings. That said, the scones were lovely. My goddaughter informed them she was a pescatarian when booking and was only given four salmon finger sandwiches! Sorry to be a moaning Minnie but, the whole place was so cold, including the changing rooms and afternoon tea area. For the money it cost it was not at all worth it! I would however go back just for a massage from Kehinde.
Negative experience: Very average service & customer care. Definitely not worth the price.
Negative experience: Average spa with black mould around the jacuzzi and terrible customer service. We visited this spa after booking x2 50 min treatments, we were celebrating our joint birthdays which we had mentioned on arrival. We arrived in the morning, on time and due and an admin error on their part we had to reschedule our treatments to x2 25 min treatments that were 4 hours apart. Meaning we spent most of the day waiting to get our 50 min treatments. This meant we had no lunch, and no effort was made to provide snacks or sandwiches. There were lots of other errors that all equated to a terrible customer experience. As we were leaving the manager also began to question whether we had paid to be there, even though we had both provided booking confirmation on arrival. Appalling and disrespectful behaviour. Other things to note: The jacuzzi and spa shower were covered in black mould and smelt really bad. No one shows you round the spa and gym facilities, you just have to wonder around and figure it out yourself. There are no poolside loungers or seating facilities in the wet spa area. There is a relaxation room near the treatment rooms but we would not have known about it were we not waiting for our treatments. My towel had a big clump of hair tangled into it. Please do no waste your money on this place. The spa itself is completely average and the manager had very little understanding of customer care. They made us feel terrible by the end of the day, the exact opposite of how you expect to leave a spa experience.
Fantastic experience: I had a Spa day this was full use of all spa facilities plus lunch with procecco. My treatments were a massage, facial and body scrub by Ellie. One of the best I've had Would recommend the Spa day offers
Fantastic experience: I was there on Wednesday & I had such a great experience. It was a gift from my daughter for my 50th birthday. Firstly I actually turned up a week early the beautiful ladies on reception re- arranged my whole schedule then it was lunchtime & ofcourse I was a week early. The lovely girl went to fetch her supervisor who had spoken to the head chef & he agreed to make me a meal. The chef brang me a LARGE meal which was delicious accompanied by a bowl of freshly chopped melon & grapes . The treatments were amazing so much so I fell asleep 4 times lol.Thank you all so much for an amazing experience. X
Fantastic experience: Great deep tissue massage
Fantastic experience: I had a great spa day at Rena Spa St Pauls on my birthday on the 13th July. The facilities were very clean and I was lucky as no one else was there on that time so I had the whole swimming pool and saunas for myself. I also had a massage and facial booked. My therapist was Ishani who did a great job. Would love to come back
Fantastic experience: Went there with my partner for his birthday and I couldn’t recommend this spa or hotel enough. The massage I had by nanita was amazing, better than a lot of these high end spas we’ve been to in the past (corinthia, aire). Spa has all the facilities you’ll need ie pool steam, sauna. Overall the staff were all very attentive and even though we were late for our afternoon tea, the staff went above and beyond so that we can still get to enjoy it. So thank you to all the staff and we will see you again in September!
Negative experience: I visited the Rena Spa yesterday for a spa day which was a present from my partner. I was left leaving a little dissatisfied with my overall experience. I felt I didn’t get the customer care I should have after spending £172 for the “day” experience. It was a number of small things, for example I was not given a time to arrive and missed out on an hour due to a mix up with my lunch preference. I found that once checked in I was left to work out where all the facilities were myself. There was some confusion over what treatments I had booked and after 10 minutes I was finally seen too and given the correct treatment by a different masseuse. It was only after this treatment I found the relaxation room which I would have liked to have spent more time but didn’t have time. I wasn’t shown the gym facilities or offered the £10 off skin care voucher that was meant to be included in this offer. My afternoon tea was stale and I felt like I was pestering the waiter for his attention for minor things like a glass of tap water. It was a shame as I was really looking forward to the day to myself and felt it was a lot of money my partner has spent for not a very good service which left me feeling disappointed. I would not recommend to a friend.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time using the facilities at Rena. Staff were attentive, particularly Lisa who went above and beyond. Thanks very much. Look forward to returning.
Fantastic experience: Excellent location, clean hotel, and fantastic breakfast! The staff is suuuper friendly!
Positive experience: Had a beautiful massage the other day at the spa with Kehinde. She was amazing, very soothing hands and energy. The pool and spa/steam too/jacuzzi were good too, though some hooks near the steam room and sauna would be helpful. Also some loungers around the poolside.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely beautiful place love it.
Fantastic experience: Had a lovely experience at this spa! Massage was amazing and everyone was very welcoming
Fantastic experience: Amazing.
Fantastic experience: Been to this spa two times now and love it! Great start of the week, thank you for looking after me Lisa!
Positive experience: The spa is relatively small. Sadly there's no place to sit or lay down and rest. There's a small whirlpool, a steam sauna, a sauna and a pool. The head massage was enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place.
Fantastic experience: Really nice spa with very clean facilities- massage was amazing and staff were really pleasant
Positive experience: Spa facilities were amazing, room was nice and clean. We got to the restaurant a few minutes late after the kitchen closing time but the waiters and the kitchen were very nice and we were still able to have our meal which was great. Breakfast was good but the blonde woman at the breakfast reception was unwelcoming and made us uncomfortable . Our package included late check out at 2 o clock. We even went to the reception to ask if it’s that and they said it’s fine just to later wake up to a phone call saying that we should check out at 11. I explained to her that it was 2 and she said it’s fine but they should already know about that. Also we couldn’t connect to and use the TV. Spoke to reception about it and they just told us to reset our phones and try again which obviously didn’t work
Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved it in here. Was clean & smelt great too. The staff was amazing & kind, they really looked after us well while we was here.
Fantastic experience: Such a friendly and relaxed place all the staff are amazing and go that extra mile, the spa staff are lovely definitely will be back book with spa breaks. Com got an amazing deal
Fantastic experience: The spa was lovely - staff were friendly, massages were amazing, we like the pool and steam room too. The hotel rooms were really comfortable and breakfast was delicious, so much choice!
Negative experience: Poor maintenance. Crowded. Noisy. Unkept. Substandard. People entering the pool and jacuzzi without a shower. Dirty. Was a member of the gym before the pandemic and while the hotel was Grange Hotel; things were lovely then, peaceful and relaxing, just like the spa, with some class. These days, it is reminiscent of a council swimming facility with kids running abouts the place and splashing about in DAY CLOTHES in the jacuzzi at half seven in the evening when you try to relax after work. I only recently rejoined this gym, having been told the crowded facilities with the kids would end on the 15th August but the screaming kids, running abouts has persisted. The water in the pool is cloudy these days. Twice I went swimming and twice, I have had to pick kids toys out the pool before people step on these plastic toys and cut their feet!Multiple jets in the jacuzzi don't work!! The pool has ZERO spa style, with ROPED LANES and whatnots. Even swimming lessons, which should be reserved more for sporting facilities than a spa pool. Zero Relaxing, pointless playing chill music when the pool is crowded, noisy, with people just walking abouts in the pool due to lack of space. The pool needs a good scrub to stop it looking so cheap. They should stop using the old photos in posters and brochures, cos the tranquil wall at the end of the pool is just run down as well. Everything there just screams unkept. There is something also bricked up behind a black wall where a hammam used to be. Don't know if the place is losing money or whatever. The pool area is not mopped, WET and the yellow "floor is wet" signages seemed perpetually used as an excuse for the lack of cleaners. Today was the last straw. The door from the ladies to the pool keeps being left open so everyone in the pool area can look in and see us naked women. Nobody is showering before entering the pool! The shower by the pool door has been out of use the whole month of August. The teak wood of the lockers used to be beautifully polished. Now all scratched and not maintained. Of the 3 showers in the ladies, only one has temperature that can be controlled. One of the showers with worn out markings dishes out hot water that will burn you. The latches on the showers and toilet doors don't work good. The hooks for the towels not screwed on properly. Screaming kids running abouts the ladies changing facilities where NOT all the ladies want to flash their privates to seven year olds. The kids play with the hairdryers at the dressing area and wet the changing facilities in the swim gear. Two were wearing life preservers today which they chucked on the bench in the ladies, WET! Very very zero class. I have photos of the dirty shower wall, check out the hair strands. The grimy floors at the toilet area; not because of the water, the floor itself is brown and grey with dirt. Towels piled up cos the laundry basket is full. As for the gym, cos small towels are not being provided like before, nobody is wiping the equipment down after use. All in all; the place has been cheapened, exceedingly crowded pool area. The facilities unkept. Lack of cleaners. Lack of response from management when you complain to reception. Terribly disappointing.
Fantastic experience: Thanks to Agima at reception for making the booking for me, and to Keh for the lovely massage
Fantastic experience: What a top notch place. Absolutely loved the friendliness of the hotel staff. I would definitely go back. Centrally located and the rooftop - on point!
Negative experience: Terrible spa experience. Staff doesn't know what they're doing. Ran out of robes so had to wait. Shower/changing room filthy. Swimming pool area is crowded and pool with very high chlorine levels (heard the pool water tester say that to staff at reception). If you want some peace & quiet definitely avoid.
Fantastic experience: We went at the spa as a birthday gift, definitely planning to be back. The staff was incredibly helpful and professional and they managed to adapt to a delay caused by train cancellation for one of us, really saving the day. I received the 50 minutes treatment from Kehinde and it was really amazing, very good massage and facial treatment, with many different products used during it, I really felt pampered and relaxed after. The spa area is cosy but clean, calm and very enjoyable. It definitely would benefit from a refresh but it wasn't detrimental to the experience. Planning to come back
Fantastic experience: Me and my wife was given first class service from AMA and Regina so helpful and happy and made us feel so welcome at the Spa thank you very much Ian and Dionne
Fantastic experience: great pool, friendly staff. accepted gympass too
Positive experience: 5 stars to the cordiality and professionalism of Anna, which gave me the best full body massage and facial of the last year ! The Rena spa is inviting , well presented , smells lovely and they gave me and my partner a very good service ! The actual pool area is a bit tired and would benefit from a face lift . Other than that , I think small children shouldn’t be allowed in a spa pool , it was quite noisy and they were disturbing all the guests. Overall enjoyed the afternoon.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place for spa and afternoon tea.
Fantastic experience: Love it love it love it and I'm going again for my sisters hen do
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff. Hotel sap Restaurant was very nice, room average but bed very comfy, shame TV wouldn't let us cast nothing to watch when relaxing. No access to rooms bar, no house keeping but you can call and some one will come change towels etc. Close to every thing. Pub Restaurant. Over all have a lovely stay.
Fantastic experience: Professional staff at the Spa and amazing treatments. My partner and I enjoyed our time at Rena Spa, with the sauna, steaming room, jacuzzi and the swimming pool
Negative experience: We stay at the Leonardo Hotel where the Rene Spa is located. We did the first treatment two days ago. The girl who did the massage for us was really lovely, but she did not stop talking during the whole treatment and asking questions so we could not relax in the treatment. In addition the air conditioning is exactly on the patient so that it is cold during the treatment, which makes the experience less pleasant. We did the second treatment today. We ordered a 75-minute treatment, which lasted only an hour. My girlfriend really enjoyed the treatment. I less, who did the massage for me was with nails, so during the whole treatment I only felt the nails and not the massage itself. But when she used her elbows then the treatment was fine. Anyway, yes we did say to the spa reception that we did not enjoy the treatments. But I do not think they will do anything with it. For those staying at the Leonardo NYX Hotel, I recommend looking for another spa to do the massage at.
Fantastic experience: Best relaxing place to take your partner
Positive experience: Brilliant treatment, best I've ever had but could do with some relaxation seating near pool area
Fantastic experience: Amazing. My best friend and I came here as a late birthday present for me. I had the hot stone massage which was fantastic! Pleasant staff and lovely ambience.
Fantastic experience: The lovely Ama is delightful on reception, received excellent service from her on the weekend 5*
Fantastic experience: A few hiccups but the staff rectified quickly. Serving staff were amazing and helpful.
Negative experience: These people just do not answer the phone … I don’t know how anyone actually manages to book an appointment here as I was lucky enough to be able to drop by after work one day. The receptionist said it’s because their phone isn’t working but there’s posts on here from months ago complaining about the phone not being answered. I managed to get through to the main hotel reception (after three days of trying) who then put me through to the spa but they still didn’t answer. I don’t know how the spa actually functions if they’re not even able to take internal calls. Shockingly appalling.
Positive experience: Rooms were meh, location great and spa nice.
Negative experience: I have been here many times in the past. The quality has deteriorated over the years. The spa is tired and overcrowded. The rooms at the back part of the hotel are tired and outdated compared to the main part of the hotel. Don't order room service if you stay as the food is terrible and overpriced. The spa treatments are the best thing and the bar and breakfast are not bad. I'll be looking for a new hotel in the future though as I feel I waste good money here now.
Fantastic experience: Incredible relaxing spa treatments.
Negative experience: Very expensive and not really clean
Negative experience: We were really looking forward to a relaxing massage and swim in the pool. Unfortunately the pool was full of hotel guests splashing and playing so didn’t have the relaxing spa atmosphere. Massage was really nice except that you could hear all the pool goers shouting and playing. Time we booked for massages also was incorrect and we were asked to wait for a different time. Disappointing for sure! Unfortunately we won’t be back. Also the robes are very small with short arms.
Negative experience: I had an email confirmation stating two massages at 6pm. When I arrived we were told we were at 6 and then 630. We had obviously booked as a duo. Not a nice start to a special weekend. The robes were very small size wise and short arms, not the comfortable robes you hope for. The pool was packed with people from the hotel, towels and shoes and stuff all over the poolside. Very overwhelming.
Fantastic experience: Took my wife there for a spa treatment with over night stay. It took a while to get a bucket of ice but never the less, a very clean and sophisticated environment. It does not feel like your in london when inside.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and facilities. Made a visit here for a deep tissue massage and the therapist dealt with a few knots in my back, my wife had a prenatal massage which she really enjoyed. Thank you.
Negative experience: Terrible experience here. Not relaxing at all. The pool is full of teenagers and kids making noise and barely any room to a actually swim. It’s more like a leisure centre than a relaxing spa. Jacuzzi is always full. Not Covid safe. They’re obviously interested just in making money post covid, ramming everyone in. Providing a relaxing spa experience is not within their interest.
Negative experience: COVID-19 Birthday SPA delay bedlam I was unable to get through to this Spa by phone during May 2021. We called for days. A manager Mr Mohamed took my call and promised to go down to the Spa and asked someone to call me. Lore did called me later in the evening after 8pm. A staff member told me that 31/05/21 was fully booked. My family and I was booked to stay in the hotel from 30/05/21 so we went on another booking site and saw that the 31/05/21 was available. Eventually I rang again and spoke to Lore who then said she could booked us in for 31/05/21 which suddenly become available. Due to the issues we have with the booking I asked for the price with light lunch to be lowered and this was put in place. The Jacuzzi in the SPA was very small and it was very busy therefore we were unable to use. We were very stressed waiting 4!hours for a room move from Room 252 to 310. We did not use the pool very over crowded. The SPA treatment and light lunch good.
Negative experience: This was the least relaxing spa I've ever been to! I booked a spa day with a friend to celebrate out birthday. It was £90 each which included use of the spa, a 25 minute treatment and a 'light lunch'. The spa was rammed and so noisy with groups of people doing piggy back racing in the swimming pool, screaming and shouting. Good for them, they were having a fun time with mates but I went for a relaxing afternoon. The joke is, that due to covid they limit the number of people that can use the jacuzzi, steam room or sauna, yet they let SO many people into the spa so all facilities are constantly in use and you have to queue to get into the jacuzzi, steam room or sauna. You can't even get a bed at the side of the pool to sit on as those are taken too. We had a facial which was lovely so I would recommend the treatments. The 'light lunch' was a vegetable sandwich, no drink, nothing else. All in all, it felt really disappointing but also pretty unsafe given Covid. They talk about talking all these precautions yet the pool and spa area is so busy and there doesn't seem to be any limit to how many people they let in.
Negative experience: The venue uses Gympass but the staff were not trained to check-in members using the app. This resulted in delays upon arrival. Staff forgot to provide keys to changing room lockers. There were a lot of sanitisation stations around the gym and overall it was relatively clean. The equipment in the gym was well maintained. The swimming pool was full of teenagers drinking alcohol.
Negative experience: I had booked an 'Express Spa Treat Day - 25 Min. Massage Or Facial, Glass of Prosecco' at Rena Health & Leisure for my partner and myself after seeing decent reviews. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, headed to the locker and changing rooms which were bright and clean, and then to our massage which felt a little rushed, and also superficial. My masseur used a lot of very hot oil which burnt until she started rubbing it in. I left the massage feeling a little relaxed mentally, but it had done nothing for me physically. There was a 'relaxation room' that were encouraged to use, but it was way too cold to sit in. The rest of the facilities were clean, but I did notice that some areas were a little shabby. For example, the sauna door didn't have a door handle, and the areas that were closed had just been taped. I also would have liked to have had some benches, but do understand that these may have been removed due to COVID-19. Finally, there were way too many people inside the spa which meant that there were queues of up to 15 minutes to use the jacuzzi or sauna inside and outside the swimming pool.
Negative experience: I was incorrectly told over the phone that a spa half treatment day included spa access for an additional guest (which was the reason for my booking) and then charged extra upon arrival.
Positive experience: Stayed the night to celebrate our Anniversary. Had a free room upgrade as it was a special occasion. Rooms had a great view of St. Pauls Cathedral. Spa was very nice, however Sauna and Steam room where closed due to COVID, but that's not the hotels fault. Mad use of the spa services, and the prices where very reasonable for London. Would stay again and thanks for making our Anniversary special.
Fantastic experience: Loved it here! Could have definitely stayed all day though 4 hours was enough! Hot tub was awesome pool lovely very clean and showers fab! sauna or steam room were locked off though due to Covid probably. Staff very helpful but bring your own water!
Fantastic experience: The spa was super relaxing and the jacuzzi was amazing. We went there in the afternoon and had the entire spa to ourselves!! The massage was the best! Ishiana was really good at making the whole experience relaxing and comfortable. She made sure the pressure was perfect and did a fabulous job. I would definitely recommend this spa to anyone looking for a relaxing experience in Central London. I'll be visiting again soon. Thank you to the entire team at Rena Spa especially Ishiana.
Negative experience: Booked online via spabreaks. The daily pass had a glass of Prosecco, a rope and slippers included with it. None of those were offered to us, just a small towel as none of the big ones were available. Most of the spa utilities were not in use, which is understandable due to the current situation but this was not mentioned to us before we made the payment or at the time of our arrival. The price we paid to the spa turned out to be just for a regular swimming pool with no music or spa atmosphere. Very disappointing
Fantastic experience: Quality 1000% ... Excellent service and great staff. Small thing , the price is little bit high, but deserves.
Negative experience: Came here for a relaxing spa break after a very stressful last couple of months. I booked my partner in for a massage so we thought we'd relax in the pool, jacuzzi and steam rooms for a bit. Then I would unwind and wait for her. We got changed (towels strewn everywhere) and went through. I'm not kidding you it was like a kids pool! Screaming and shouting. There must've been 20 of them running around! I'm all for children having fun of course! But the idea was for a nice relaxing adult break away! This never happened in the slightest! The whole reason we chose this hotel was for the very nice looking and sounding spa! Definitely do not come here if that's your aim. I'm afraid our nicely planned and very expensive weekend away has been ruined unfortunately. Would I stay in the hotel again... Yes! Would I recommend it if you wanted a nice spa? No chance! Do not advertise it as a spa if you're going to let kids run riot!
Fantastic experience: I had one of the most relaxing experience, the therapists are so friendly. I was assisted by a lady called Ishani who was very professional and welcoming! I would definitely recommend the spa and their therapist Ishani who is absolutely amazing at what she does!!!
Positive experience: Really enjoyed a date with hubby. Massage was very relaxing.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful
Fantastic experience: Had a deep tissue massage, very nice. Any treatment also gives access to other facilities like pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc
Fantastic experience: Fabulous place !!
Positive experience: Group of 4 of us had a spa package. The treatments were very nice and so was the staff however the spa facilities were very dissapointing. Jacuzzi was out of order and eventually even the pool got shut down due to high chlorine content. Both facilities were cordoned off with 'crime scene' yellow/black tape which was very unsightly. We did recieve discount after raising the issue but would have prefered nicer experience.
Fantastic experience: Big and clean swimming pool. Lounge is comfy and relaxing. Friendly staff as well.
Fantastic experience: Really good day and treatments were fantastic
Positive experience: Lovely spa in central London. We arrived as a group on Saturday morning and enjoyed a group lunch, Hamam experience, facials and massages - really enjoyed it all and couldn't fault the therapists or reception staff who were all kind and helpful. The spa facilities are good but not the most spacious for areas to relax in, also it got pretty busy from lunch onwards so we were pleased to have the peaceful time in the morning. But a decent spa for a break in the city.
Fantastic experience: Great massage! Probably the best I’d ever had. Left so relaxed. Great facility and amenities
Positive experience: Joined their gym in the end....was tempted for a while.. .. Looks good inside, it is spotless and the girls at reception and the therapist are so sweet! I had a great massage this week there really loved it. . A little small gym area but that is the city gym life
Fantastic experience: One of the best spas I’ve been to in London, the interior makes you feel like you’re in Thailand or Bali and the staff were attentive and very polite. We booked the Ajala weekend package for 2 people and it was worth every penny. The massage was amazing and my masseuse, I think her name was Nanita or Nikita, did a wonderful job with my massage and facial. The facilities were 5 stars and they provide you with complimentary cakes, fruit, juice, hot drinks etc. Our package included a light lunch which we ate during our session in the sun room, it was absolutely delicious and the lunch portion far exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend this spa and go again.
Fantastic experience: Very fortunate to have been treated to a few hours at this wonderful spa. The pool and wet areas were beautifully clean, spacious and very calming. The deep tissue massage was exceptional and carried out by a highly skilled therapist. A true oasis in the heart of London.
Positive experience: Very relaxing but they need bigger robes and slippers for bigger people
Positive experience: Lovely spa, the staff were so attentive and nice and the facial I received was really good, will be coming back again. The procedure and the relaxation room afterwards were great only minor thing was that the facilities were a little bit tired.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful service, the staff here are particularly attentive.
Negative experience: Not the same as it used to be. We came back here after a great experience 3 years ago, standards have definitely dropped a lot. Very poor massage, not worth the price.
Positive experience: My friend and I really enjoyed our time at the spa. The staff were so professional and friendly. Lovely lunch and now feeling very chilled
Fantastic experience: This spa is everything that it says and shows and even more. I booked a group spa for bride and her bridal team. The bride was blown away by throughout the whole appointment. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way. the snacks were amazing, the facilities were awesome. Being a spa addict, the experience at St Paul's Ajala Spa was beyond any expectations i had. I am so grateful for how wonderful they made my group especially the bride feel. Thank you all so much, we had an awesome time and will definitely be back. You guys are awesome!
Positive experience: All was good except the pool. Too loud with children screaming
Fantastic experience: Fantastic day, staff so nice & friendly very clean, will definitely be going back, great place to chill in the Centre of London.
