Fantastic experience: Fantastic facilities and some amazing instructors for pilates, yoga, cardio, cycle, body pump and more. Badminton, football facilities and a brilliant gym! Both machines and free weights. Staff are helpful, warm and polite. Moneys worth for joining up here.

Fantastic experience: Histon FC football

Negative experience: Training here for year or so as very convenient for me train in the day while kids at school. Out the blue the 'unlimited' gym membership was suddenly without any notice to members 'very limited' gym membership, no notice just a sign one morning saying paying members can no longer use the weights room and door is now locked, as say NO NOTICE!! Staff in gym have been very good about it trying to make accomodations, but its the top brass seem to think were all perverts suddenly and going to run off with students from the gym, its coverered in cctv too, oh well i guess its the 21st century woke creeping into every aspect of daily life.. Essentially can no longer train in weights room unless evening or weekend, its still advertised everywhere as 'unlimited gym usage' though..so stuff the paying members basically. Will now have to travel to cambridge to train daily.

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely experience at the Cambridge community iftaar fundraiser 2023 at this venue. Easy to get to and ample parking. Sports hall is reasonable size and just perfect for the pre Iftaar evening prayer with congregation.

Positive experience: Colts football very good

Negative experience: We visited for an event (our group had hired the hall) and while the hall itself was fine, it was pretty disappointing to see that there was no loo paper in any of the loos I visited, and no hand soap either. Didn't make a good impression.

Positive experience: Artifical pitch is bogged down by rubber crumb, small sided goals aren't great either.

Liam Mccollum 5 years ago

Negative experience: The new covid opening times are completely unreasonable and make it extremely inconvenient. 07:00-08:00 then 16:30-20:00 Why can’t we go to the gym during this period? It’s almost like you are closed when csf students who are paying customers are most likely to go. The option to freeze our memberships is unrealistic as if we do this we will not be able to go to the gym during the weekend the other option is to continue our memberships and pay a months membership for 400 minutes of use. I hope you strongly reconsider.

Hi Liam, Thank you for voicing your concerns to us. We completely understand that the reduced opening hours may not suit everyone’s individual schedules. Since our gym and surrounding facilities are closely connected with the Secondary School & Sixth Form, we have had to liase with the School Governors and Local Authority in order to prevent unnecessary close contact of both pupils, staff, and members of the public. Alongside the newly implemented COVID-Secure measures, we have the additional challenge of maintaining safe working practice in an environment where we share many resources with a large secondary school and sixth form college. Under these challenging circumstances, the college requires the use of several of our facilities for social distancing of students which is why we’re unable to maintain a safe environment for both our members and the college simultaneously. We recently surveyed all members to gain a better understanding of the services we should provide during these unprecedented times. The consensus was that we should open, albeit with reduced operating times. In light of this, we have taken a pragmatic approach to try and find a sensible balance between meeting members wishes whilst maintaining a safe environment for all. We appreciate that any reduction in our operating times will be unsuitable for some people, but we hope you can appreciate that we are genuinely trying to provide a sensible compromise; albeit with necessary restrictions for the reasons outlined. Annual Members can have the missed months reimbursed to their account, and direct debits have not been charged over the closure period. We have also waived all Membership costs until the 1st of October as a thank you to our loyal members for their continued custom and patience. We hope to see you in the gym again soon. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via phone or email through our usual contact methods if you have any further questions. CSA Management

Positive experience: Me and my brother dropped in for a quick workout. Staff were v pleasant and helpful, and even though we were not regulars to the venue, they went above and beyond what was expected of them, making the visit pleasant.

Simon Mitchell 5 years ago

Negative experience: Toilets at back of Male changing room on way to sports hall were in a terrible state, and looked like they had been like that for quite some time.

Positive experience: Visited auditorium for a Christmas theatre production. Nice space, comfortable seating, but not enough public bathrooms - appeared to be only one between about 100 people.

Hey Steve, Thanks for getting in touch and leaving feedback for us. We actually have men’s, women’s, and accessible toilets within our Performance hall (auditorium) fit for a capacity of over 500. We apologise you weren’t able to find the men’s toilets - and we’ll ensure enough signage is implemented around the building for our up-and-coming events. Regards, Charlie - (CSA Venue Manager)

Fantastic experience: I have used the gym on and off since I moved to Comberton 4 years ago and have very recently become an annual member (again). It provides good all around facilities (gym, weight room) and a range of fitness classes for all abilities. The management changed recently and we have seen a massive improvement in the offering since so I'd urge anyone who came to CSA before and was disappointed to give the new team another chance. The fitness instructors and many local people met at the classes have become personal friends so the gym doubles up well as a community hub. The gym has started offering teenage classes for CVC students but at only one session a week I feel there's still scope for improvement.

Good Afternoon Colin, We deeply apologise for this issue and have notified our team who will rectify it now. If a problem like this is ever apparent, notifying our in-house staff will allow measures to be taken to rectify the issue when the problem arises. Thank you for your feedback. Have a fantastic day! Regards, CSA

Fantastic experience: Great gym and range of classes. Highly recommended.

Abbi McGlennon 8 years ago

Positive experience: Gym review: An adequate gym with the basics. A cardio and fitness room, a small weights room (limited selection and machines) and classes. The classes are great fun and the PTs are really friendly and keep you motivated throughout. One good thing about the gym is that you don't have to be a member to use the facilities. You can sign up as a pay as you go customer and pop into the gym as you wish (with a cost, but a reasonable price), this applies for the classes too. Plenty of parking at the weekend however, when in school hours parking will be limited.
