Our comment from FitFit UK about Oasis Sports Centre:
The Oasis Sports Centre, located in the heart of London, offers a unique outdoor swimming experience coupled with a range of sports facilities. While the outdoor heated pool is a highlight, providing a refreshing swim in a serene courtyard atmosphere, it has recently received mixed reviews regarding cleanliness and maintenance. Users have noted the pool can sometimes appear unclean, with reports of debris and murkiness in the water. However, many have appreciated the convenience of having both indoor and outdoor pools available for workout sessions.
Visitors have commented positively on the friendly and helpful staff, who strive to create a welcoming environment, making the centre feel like a community hub. The changing facilities are notably spacious and generally well-organized, though some users have expressed concerns about the overall cleanliness and upkeep.
Another aspect that some patrons have found frustrating is the locker token system; multiple coins are often needed if you wish to reopen your locker. This has drawn criticism, suggesting it would be preferable if the locker access was included in the membership fee.
Despite these issues, many patrons cherish the centre for its character, location, and community vibe, viewing it as a hidden gem in central London. Overall, Oasis Sports Centre provides a decent experience for exercise enthusiasts looking for outdoor pool options, although there is space for improvement in cleanliness and facilities.

Oasis Sports Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: Dirty, broken equipment, showers you can't turn around in and grunting reception staff. Oh, and 30p tokens to use a locker which, if you want to keep your stuff secure whilst showering, requires multiple tokens. Really? Just include them in the membership price. The whole building needs to be demolished and rebuilt.
Negative experience: Horrible experience at this centre. Patronising & unhelpful staff. Rude members. Not suitable for older women due to staff attitudes. Would give zero stars if this were possible.
Positive experience: Great gym and swimming pools. They say the outside swimming pool is heated, but to be fair it didn't feel like it
Negative experience: Speaker above 1 of the stairmasters is ridulous however there are two, so it's calm. What's even more ridiculous, is that older woman who works in the woman's changing room with the round glasses who always delivers a new verse of unqualified sass my way for no reason. Someone tell her she's too old for me☠️
Positive experience: The whole facility is old and tired. Needs proper refurbishment. Plus the 20p for lockers. Just add to price and use reusable token or nothing. So much easier
Fantastic experience: Excellent swimming pools with affordable swimming sessions and clean changing facilities. There is both an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. We come every week and would definitely recommend. The outdoor pool is heated (not super warm but bearable)!
Fantastic experience: Nice outdoor pool, and friendly, helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Great little outdoor swimming pool in central London. Facility is old but nicely maintained with an active community who maintain some gardens. The gym here is well equipped but lacks natural light and phone signal. Main negative here is the token locker system meaning you have to pay to keep your stuff safe. If you want to gym and swim that means paying twice.
Negative experience: I wasn’t expecting much from the leisure centre pool but I found it incredibly dirty, dingy and with absolutely no privacy at all. While I’m a regular gym user elsewhere, I don’t want to shower in a dirty, cramped place with no privacy. The toilet area was flooded too. I did try to give it a go but I just felt dirty being there so I left after ten minutes. Oasis isn’t fit for 2024.
Negative experience: Huge promise and potential but well neglected. I went for my first swim. The pool was not clean. It was criminally and cringe-worthy unclean. But then again this is run commercially but the budget left to clean the place must be small. The pool must have had live insects and crocodiles in it. I did not see any crocodiles.
Negative experience: Disgusting. If you want to get some disease just go to this swimming pool, the water is so dirty that you cannot see 1m ahead. The water in the sewage system of a third world country is more hygienic than the one in this pool. All in all, one of the most revolting experiences of my life.
Negative experience: I was thinking about getting a Better membership and use this gym as it’s close from work for me. I swim regularly so I went today to try the outdoor pool. The changing rooms were pretty dirty already but when I got to the pool I was shocked by how filthy it was. In the water you couldn’t even see the person swimming in front of you as the water was so dirty. The tiles were gross and greenish looking, the grouting was black, there was black particles floating around everywhere and big chunks of hair. The shower area outside also made me feel so uncomfortable as a woman. Having to walk past the sauna, which had about 10-15 man cramped inside, who were very obviously observing all the women walking past. I will not step a foot inside this place ever again.
Fantastic experience: Very nice place. Good gym and swimming pool.
Negative experience: I visited here a couple of months ago and still scarred by the experience, great outdoor BUT its popular with gay men and there was two men openly pleasuring eachother in full view of the changing room, shocking
Positive experience: The main issue at this site is the pathetic slow new software which leaves patrons and your wanting to check in at the front onto the one working computer computer and extremely difficult proposition at the best. I visited this place about three times in the last one week. The swimming pool itself is good works well. The change room to showers and the toilets on a scale of one to 10 which rate at, one out of 10. You may find a better looking places in a Third World country. Having said that the swimming areas itself works well. The pools are clean. Not sure how they decide what’s open, when, how long, or when what is at capacity. It is my hope that management at the site continues to rapidly renovate the lockers space, the showers, the toilets . Definitely a major issue with a software and app which demands full direct access to your bank accounts and all details. No one in 2024 should be subscribing to such apps. Major security flaws!!
Fantastic experience: Very kind white male staff at the reception desk this noon. My friend went to an entirely wrong place so I had to wait for her for 1 h to come to this centre for our swimming, and he kindly allowed us to move it to the 1h later session and also welcomed me to wait inside. Shout out to this nice man!
Fantastic experience: I have been visiting here for over 20 years, mainly to swim in the outdoor pool. The staff are friendly, changing facilities are spacious. The WCs could with frequent cleaning checks & an upgrade to the showers would be beneficial. All in all a treat to swim outdoors in central London
Positive experience: Lovely outdoor pool great for a swim in the centre of London. Facilities are getting a little Tired now but still Fit for purpose and staff are friendly. Lost a star for the prices which I believe are a bit much and charging for using lockers
Negative experience: Tried this out as it was convenient to work and I'm a full member of Better for anywhere but Camden so you now have to pay £7.20 for a swim. Staff were helpful and because it was my first time they comped me a locker token which you otherwise have to pay 30p ( contactless) for- a bit cheeky as £1 that's returned is standard elsewhere. You do have the option of bringing your gear poolside. If you come at 5pm there is a Sauna by the open air pool which is first come first serve. Pros Great location Sauna included It's really nice to swim outdoors in central London. Cons Changing rooms were filthy It seems to be a place where gay men feel it's ok to proposition people in the changing rooms ( I'm straight) and no it's not flattering it's invasive. Poolside area was not clean Water was pretty cold given it's an outdoor 'heated' pool and it was a chilly day in April Not much regulation in the lanes. Fast swimmers in the medium lane and medium swimmers in the fast lane. Sauna should hold around 10-12 people but once seats are taken people come in and stand with their budgy smugglers in your face. They should impose a limit. It's like the morning tube in a sauna. Also the people on the back row chattered incessantly it was like listening to the opening gambits of a dating exchange. It's fair to say that saunas are meant to be quiet, relaxing places so that should be the rule. I know extraverts relax by talking and interacting but they can fxxk off and do it in one of the thousand public bars and cafes round Soho. I really don't want to hear someone fishing for compliments about their 'Trained Opera Voice' in a Sauna.
Negative experience: Having tried to solve their technical problems on a couple of occasions and stopping people from pushing in behind me not on their own membership on entry. With no induction walked around lost wondering where everything was, just got stressed and more stressed. They can keep their joining fee and the months charge, I just don't need the hassle and feel better for it !
Fantastic experience: A public outdoor heated pool in central London for £7.20 is absolutely a hidden gem. Not busy. Friendly staff. Spacious changing room although I felt bad for the lady endlessly mopping the floor of the changing room but it was a bit slippy in places so that was necessary and am thankful the floor wasn’t more slippy. Next time I’ll bring flip flops. Sure the pool could be cleaner especially at the deep end but that didn’t stop me really enjoying my swim. You can pay for the lockers with a card now or leave your stuff on the side if you are trusty!
Negative experience: Staff are nice, but make sure you check your membership. Even though I have an 'All Gyms' membership, Better have just brought in a rule that excludes any 'Camden Council' gym from this membership. Which is obviously crazy when the membership has just increased to £64.
Fantastic experience: A nice centre with friendly staff. An outdoor pool in the centre of London was a surprise but it worked well and was warm enough even in early February. Watch out for the 30p charge for lockers, double check you are ready to lock it Brexit you do otherwise you'll have to pay again.
Negative experience: I need an explanation because I can't find an reason of what the management of the Oasis has done. The indoor pool has a large window bay facing south west that lets the sun shine in the indoor pool. The architects thought so well about the position of the windows. Not too much sun in the summer but making the most of the lower sun on darker days. Swimming in the indoor pool on a shiny winter day at lunchtime was a therapeutic experience. Now the management has decided to put useless screens/plastic window covering sheets that just let a bit of light but block the sun in the indoor pool!
Fantastic experience: Staff are nice. Pool & sauna great and well priced for the location. Great to have community facilities like this in Covent Garden.
Negative experience: Such a bad experience with this centre, was advised to open a Junior membership for my daughter. She went excited this morning to be then told she doesnt have access to this gym, she has to go to another branch and she has limited time everyday. The reason why we went to Oasis was because we live round the corner and made the staff member aware of this. He wasted our time!
Fantastic experience: "This swimming pool is top-notch! The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the lifeguards are attentive and professional. The pool itself is a great size, with plenty of space for lap swimming or casual swimming. There's also a separate kids' area, which is perfect for families with young children. The locker rooms are spacious and well-stocked with showers and lockers. Overall, this swimming pool is a great place to work out or relax, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area." ♂️
Positive experience: Outdoor pool was filthy I think I contracted at least 4 bacterial infections but the pool had nice temperature sauna was also nice
Fantastic experience: Love it Really nice staff at the centre! Very nice outdoor heated pool in the courtyard, cosily nestled within the buildings around. It makes swimming under the sky a real bliss. Great to sneak in and out the sauna by the pool A real tonic, it has become a personal, weekly must-go treat
Negative experience: This place is in serious need of replenishment. It is beyond tired, it looks knackered. I went here on a hot Summer day for Lido and sunbathing. The 'terrace' is an embarrassment. Worn out plastic grass carpets and an old pub bench. I had to leave.
Fantastic experience: 100% going back! Outdoor swimming in central London! Bracing in September, but fantastic once you are in!
Fantastic experience: 50 minutes for 7.20 was a bargain. Pool was clean (enough), lane was not crowded at 8:20 AM. Staff was friendly and helpful to a 1st time visitor. Soap dispensers in showers were out of soap, so bring your own. Easy to download the app and add a credit card and make a reservation. Swimmers were courteous in shared lanes. Suits, caps, and goggles available for purchase. What a gem.
Positive experience: This used to be the closest thing I’d get to a holiday in the hot summers of 2012/13 when I was working locally. Lovely sun terrace which they’ve upgraded with astroturf. However, much like the mid town area post covid, it doesn’t look like the centre’s had any other investment since then, which is understandable if a shame. Pool was grubby. Changing rooms Tim down but functional. Prices have gone up though, like everywhere else, but definitely looking a little worse for wear. And like all “better” centres, the fun police are on hand to stop anything other than functional swimming.
Fantastic experience: I've been swimming and using the gym at Oasis for years, and in that time it has only got better. It is amazing to swim outdoors in central London and the pool is great. The gym is big with lots of equipment and never gets too busy. There is an amazing poolside sauna outdoors that you don't have to pay extra for. There's always a group of friendly regulars in there chatting. The place is kept clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Better gyms are the best in London, worth joining.
Negative experience: The outdoor pool is a gem and amazing to have this in Covent Garden HOWEVER the pool is very dirty, a black sediment washing backwards and forwards in the deep part of the pool and pieces of black matter floating in the water. The tiles are dirty with black sediment in the grout. The sauna - which I hoped to use - was not working and the indoor pool closed completely for repair. On the plus side the changing rooms are clean but I found the locker situation frustrating, you buy a token to use but if you open your locker - to get your shower gel etc - the token has been swallowed up and you are unable to lock the locker again.
Positive experience: Very well located a short walk from soho and has many hidden features, such as you don’t expect at open air pool on the top of a building in central london haha The facilities are very easily accessible and easy to use, although the pools could do with the bottom clean, the open plan changing rooms and shower areas are nice to see and makes it easier see others and/or to continue a conversation or whatever with someone instead of being squashed into small cubicles like many other sports centres, although there are cubicles available if you do want some privacy… Most staff and accommodating and professional A decent place for a session after work and meeting new people, whether you are visiting to workout, relax, exhibit, cruise or whatever Definitely would recommend the oasis to any guy ;)
Negative experience: Decent pool bit on the small side, they should really have a chilled lane, more rules than prison. Children under 11 can only swim weekends 10.30am til 1.30pm but age 11 and over can stay. You no longer get a wristband to pop in and out. I'll be going to Brockwell from now on, more kid friendly, more female friendly, and far less rules. No smoking, yet vapers can vape away. Found the staff to be unhelpful some rude even. Not the place for me!!
Positive experience: Indoor pool has been closed for nearly a year now, with no interest to make it available any time soon... disgrace really... Outdoor pool is ok, just overcrowded due to Indoor pool being closed to public
Negative experience: Love the place and other staff but one names Yola who was not only racist but rude when I did ask her to look for my swimming trunk, swimming cap & goggle. She threatened me to expel from the membership. She was nice to other white people around her. She went to look for my stuff for a second or so twice and she said she didnt have it & asked me to step aside & leave the premise. I asked to speak to the manager & I explained again about my missing items. He then looked for it & found it !!! I spoke to the other manager & she apologized & gave the name of the staff who dealt with me. I would not feel safe to be there when she is around. Very negative vibes as she saw my face. No smile no general courtesy. I told her its nice to be nice. Oasis or Better shouldn't put her fronting the customers especially when she is racist & prejudice in nature when communicating with people of colour. Kudos to other staff & I hope they can BETTER the overall customer service.
Positive experience: Like most of the Better pools, don't expect luxury, but you do get something unique. An open air, outdoor pool in Central London! The 27.5m pool is usually quite busy but everyone is friendly. Also there's a shallow end and a 3.5m deep end so you do need to be a fairly confident swimmer
Fantastic experience: Lovely warm lido! Changing rooms were very clean, staff are friendly!
Fantastic experience: The staff here are just great. I come here not just for the gym and pool, but I come away feeling better mentally as I feel so welcome. Keep it up everyone :)
Fantastic experience: I love this sports centre and the outdoors swimming pool. A secret oasis in central London
Positive experience: I like this pool. The outside pool is generally quite warm and nice to swim in. The staff are all really friendly, especially Farrah on the front desk and Maria who keeps the changing rooms clean. I've never been to the gym part so can't comment on that. The lockers take a non-returnable token, which you get from the machine for 30p (luckily it takes contactless!). There are a variety on Locket sizes, including nice big ones for big kit bags. Be aware that at the time of writing the indoor pool is still closed.
Fantastic experience: A real Oasis in the heart of london. The outdoor pool is amazing and warm,(well most of the time & there's always the sauna to use after)! The staff are so helpful and friendly, there is a welcome for all. I have made so many good friends there. Check out the lovely garden too a place to chill and relax or help with the gardening if you want to! The upstairs sun deck is a perfect place to relax, meet friends & enjoy the sun even in the winter.
Positive experience: Good squash courts and a lovely outdoor pool. The indoor pool is closed temporarily. Sometimes there is a queue at the front desk. Also a gym but haven't used it.
Positive experience: Great outdoor pool if you work locally or are passing through. Could do with cleaning the deep end a bit at the bottom. Convenient and good price.
Negative experience: Decent fitness center and warm outdoor pool. However, it’s not very clean and has not been done up in over 8 years. I used to work out here in 2014 and thought it was quite good, however it definitely needs a touch up.
Positive experience: Carry a few 20p coins and a bag so that you don't have to open the locker multiple times. Having to do that is super inconvenient and just unacceptable at this day and age by the way. The changing rooms have a lot of space and are decently clean but the pools have loads of trash at the bottom. Not at all busy on a Sunday afteroon. The biggest redeeming quality is the hot 6-7 person sauna but I heard they're adding an additional charge for it so not sure if it's going to be worth it anymore.
Positive experience: An amazing place. The chances of a sensibly priced outside pool in the middle of Central London would appear to be nil. But here it is. Quite deep and naturally busy on a fine day so better for swimming than lazing. Just unexpected and excellent.
Fantastic experience: Great location for a heated open air pool, 27.5m, and a 25m indoor one too. Also gym, squash courts and classes
Positive experience: Lovely outdoor pool. Sauna outside just get hot and swim. 30p lockers get contactless from machine. Showers non cubicaled , downside. Changing area busy. Fantastic on a summer's day. Best to book in advance. Then have a wander round Covent Garden.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, outdoor and indoor pool. Clean and large changing rooms with basic amenities (hot hot showers, hairdryers, changing rooms and lockers).
Negative experience: Just wanted to check something with someone at the Centre but cannot get through by phone. This is bad - not everyone wants to do everything online all the time, but we are increasingly given no option - you should do better, Better!
Negative experience: Health and safety issue!! Don't use the showers! The ceiling tiles are not made for showers - you'll have dirty, mouldy water dripping on you from the tiles and lights. Such a shame as it's a great pool, and I would use it daily, but won't be going until it's fixed.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and great gym and pool
Negative experience: It is a shame because it is well located, the most important problem I see is that there is no hygiene, people go into the pool with long hair and without a hat, I have had to get out of the pool more than once because there was hair and black particles floating that I don't know what they are. In general everything is a bit old, it does need a renovation and also for people to be a little cleaner and respect hygiene standards.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful outdoor pool, a bit rundown indoors but great to swim in central London outdoors. Recommended.
Fantastic experience: Pretty much lives up to it's name. The outdoor pool (27.5m)is a gem and the addition of a poolside sauna adds a very special/ sociable dimension. Earlier this year I coincidentally shared the sauna with a ballet dancer, a male conductor and a female conductor, and an actor! A very cultured crowd to say the least. To round off the blissful experience, you can always wander into the nearby 'Phoenix Gardens' with a cup of coffee from Monmouth. With that said, there's room for improvement which won't incur much cost/effort. 1)changing room floors aren't cleaned at frequent intervals. 2)pointless notices outside requesting people to not make too much noise because of neighbours and yet nothing to persuade people to shower before swimming (yuk!). Please can the lifeguards monitor this as it's truly disgusting! UPDATE OCT 2024 : the renovation which closed the outdoor pool for one month has been a resounding success. Cracked paving stones and out of date tiling have been replaced with a gorgeous surface of little stones. A fresh lick of paint has further enhanced the centre. I have now awarded Oasis 5stars (previously 4)
Positive experience: Guys, locker system is the only annoyance but seriously, non refundable 20 p coins got us to pay over 3x 20 p coins first finding out the system is like this wanting to take something out and then being asked for receipt which we left in locker to go get a coffee … uhh.. ..
Negative experience: The outside pool has green/black slim on the bottom along with what looks like small bits of rubbish not pleasent
Positive experience: I only go to play squash here. They have 3 courts, which have been recently completely repainted and walls redone. So this is currently one of the best squash facilities in central London. Having 3 courts ensures pretty good availability almost always ensuring your desired time can be booked. The changing rooms are pretty dirty though, and so are the toiler facilities. Everything is always very wet and slippery. There are 2 pools at this gym, and lots of water everywhere from guests going back and forth. The entry has been redone last year as well, with brand new gates and the staff here are very nice and welcoming, as opposed to some other Better gym I also frequent.
Negative experience: Shower water is COLD, despite bringing it to their attention. Changing rooms are filthy, WCs are disgusting, some staff are rude and clearly not trained for the job. Very badly managed centre. It is a shame it keeps going downhill.
Fantastic experience: I start recently by recommendation my friend. When I was trying to register 3 times I went some how I couldn't,but last time the receptionist; name is ferhat he helped me with kindness and I got there:) I am so pleasant to start friendly and helpful staff
Positive experience: Competitive prices, nice outdoor sauna. All the staff were very kind. The building itself a bit bleak / brutalist but this could be someone’s vibe
Positive experience: Day trip to London. Walked in unannounced. Bought a ticket at the door. Enjoyed an outdoor swim in the heated pool. Changing rooms clean and functional. Hair drier, hot showers, lockers (needed a 20 p coin) all working. Really happy to see the costume spinner
Fantastic experience: Lovely welcome from staff member at front entrance, signed me up via the app and I went for my first swim here. Great, affordable facility in the heart of town with an outdoor pool that even feels warm on a cold winter's morning.
Negative experience: Good facilities, nice outdoor pool, easy to use booking system. This is one of the most money grabbing 'not for profit' organisations I have come across. 'No joining fee' but £37.50 gym induction, and charge a cancellation fee even if you give 30 days notice. They charge for lockers per use, so if you use it multiple times on one visit you get charged for several times. So if you gym, shower, swim, then shower again that is 4 charges. They charge for classes such as HIIT even if you are on a 'classes included' membership.
Positive experience: Came as a one off during a London visit. Having to sign up and get the app etc to book a bit of a faff but I appreciate that's the world now seemed understaffed and reception queue 4-5 deep until another staff member arrived. Changing rooms grand, outdoor pool good temp and nicely situated amid housing; sadly the deep end in need of a clean, bottom discoloration ++ with algae. An enjoyable swim nonetheless.
Negative experience: Run down this place used to be so good! Wish I could take the one star away
Fantastic experience: Fantastic to have a decent swimming pool in Central London; rather, 2 pools as there's indoor and outdoor. Seasonal update: as it's Summer, the outside pool is often (mostly) given over to kids and families. Number of lanes reduced. But there is also the indoor pool and the water is lovely and cool. Had a great swim today - 30 July
Fantastic experience: Amazing find in the middle of London! Quiet, shaded pool with a sun deck for over 16s. Friendly staff and good sized facilities. They keep capacity controls on it during Covid so it’s not too crowded. Booking was limited but I was lucky to get a spot for a hot day. Will absolutely be back in the summer!
Negative experience: After checking the website this morning and looking forward to trying Oasis out as I want to get back into swimming, I turned up today and disappointingly it was closed. Several people were outside wondering why the shutters were down. One person who had a years membership with Oasis wasn't even informed and there is nothing on the website, infact you can still buy a membership online for Oasis?? Through frustration and speaking to others I searched for a nearby pool and found Marshal St Leisure Centre and Spa, a great place which saved my day.
Fantastic experience: One of central London's hidden gems- incredibly nostalgic vibe. Having lived in Holborn for years, I'm sad that i didn't discover it much earlier
Negative experience: Poorly managed sports centre. The website is wrong - timetables are incorrect, no information on mandatory booking. Lockers are coin-operated, and this is 2021. Sessions are limited to one hour and the sauna is closed - yet there are no government restrictions on sports sessions and saunas.
Positive experience: 2 pools inside the city center. Booking system is also very usefull. And the yearly subscription is reasonably priced. HOWEVER the infrastructure is old, moldy, dusty, and the pool (especially outside) is usually not clean. Some of the showers arnt working anymore for months, toilets are smelly and the lockers cost 20p each time
Fantastic experience: Indoor and OUTDOOR swim in Central London very friendly staff sauna in the good times on pool side clean and well managed
Fantastic experience: It's a great gym to go to to do your daily exercises in swimming gym workout and great customer services and all the staffs are really helpful
Fantastic experience: OMG love this pool. Can’t believe it’s in the middle of Covent Garden! So random! The water temperature was balmy, the deep end was super nice and deep which I find is quite rare in london pools. It’s buried deep in a residential area but that makes it a quite unique swimming experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Showers were so clean and changing rooms so warm!! Great experience overall! Thank you.
Positive experience: Good value for squash courts versus other alternative 3 glassback courts with regular gallery and elevated one. Top of each squash courts have air con. Receptionist are nice Walls on courts and floorings could do with an update...
Positive experience: The facilities are a bit old and could do with a clean. The gym's male changing room is absolutely filthy, with overflowing loos, white stuff all over the walls, and bits of dirt and hair under the benches and corner. The gym floor upstairs could do with a mop too as I don't think it's ever been cleaned. I've been coming to this gym for over a year and it's always like this and it's only getting dirtier. However, the gym is good with lots of equipment and never too busy which is amazing for a central London gym. Top tip- avoid the swimming changing room at all costs as it is well known as a cruising area for older men
Negative experience: I saw articles online reviewing the outdoor pool favourably and photos of lush planting around the outdoor pool. When I arrived I found the sports centre to have an extremely run down and seedy vibe. It was a bit like stepping into a jobcentre minus the security! There were no plants around the outdoor pool which was dirty with a malfunctioning filter system. It was allowing a nest of twigs, fluff and dirt to form in the centre of the pool at the bottom. The changing rooms were filthy- mud and hair all over the floors and walls. We reported these things to a bored receptionist but to no avail. I wouldn't go again.
Fantastic experience: The outdoor pool here is great.
Fantastic experience: Great pool, very friendly staff, now with Covid restrictions the lanes seem wider as there are a lot less people. Great changing rooms, hot showers all in the middle of London. Definitely will be back! So happy they are finally OPEN!
Positive experience: Been coming here since outdoor recreational activities lockdown restrictions were lifted. Great outdoor pool, super friendly and very well trained staff, excellent social distancing arrangements and all round excellent experience. I'm a pay and go member and I use their app to book a swim slot; the app is user friendly and straight forward. The only issue is that all swim slots get booked up by full members seven days in advance, with pay and go members only able to book 5 days in advance. The only way you can secure a slot is if someone cancels - which is the only way I have been able to book. The other problems with all swim slots being fully booked is that, when you are able to secure a last minute cancellation slot and you turn up, on most occasions the pool is only half full, as there are so many no shows! Better Leisure needs to do what Everyone Active does - charge no shows the £6.15 swim fee - which would encourage all of these members who block book in advance and then not bother turning up, to cancel their slot and free it up for someone who genuinely wishes to swim! I normally swim everyday, and this week I have only been able to secure a swim slot on 3 occasions - so Better have lost out on 4 x £6.15! There are a few swimmers, who have probably been swimming at the centre from when it was first built, who will scald you if you overtake them in the pool - for example, today I got yelled at because the swimmer said he does not like people overtaking him and that i should get out of his lane! Then I realised after changing lanes that none of white folk overtaking him got told off! I'll just leave it there. Other than the above grumble, Oasis Sport Centre and staff are amazing and I have enjoyed swimming at Oasis the past two weeks.
Negative experience: Terrible customer service from the start. The gym staff acts like they are doing you a favour and constantly belittle you for being late (even if you are 5-10 minutes late). The gym is acceptable, but a bit old and the wifi/reception is spotty at best once inside the gym. I had a hard time to stream music, podcasts, etc. I luckily only bought a one month membership and was able to cancel 2 weeks in and switch to a better competitor.
Positive experience: Great pools and very conscious of social distancing. However, now after the pandemic, the price of lockers has increased to 30p via a token which is non returnable. The indoor pool seems to be closed and the sauna has reduced strange hours. The pool outside is clean.
Fantastic experience: Very well organised, safe, warm and friendly. Lovely pool, atmosphere and helpful staff. Couldn't fault it!
Fantastic experience: So fantastic with restricted number post-lockdown. They need to ban splashy strokes though and better monitor the overtakers. If someone is repeatedly overtaking, they need to be asked to move to the faster lane (if nothing else than for a dose of their own medicine!). It's not pleasant for those of us who can't swim fast due to injury or age.
Positive experience: Great pools but pool heater was on and off but has been fixed since as well as the suana bieng closed for matience but still a lovely centre
Fantastic experience: Not perfect but homey! My first outdoor pool in London! And I mean in the core of London! Open any weather
Negative experience: Nice pool but disabled facilities are not fit for purpose and actually dangerous. One 'changing room' which is the shower and loo so if you're in there, no one else can change or shower. No proper rails at the toilet or in the shower, bench to sit on dangerously flimsy, wobbly and not fixed to the wall, I had to sit on the loo to change. Lockers too high for wheelchair users, but frankly, a wheelchair user couldn't use this place. Because of the one room, floor was wet and anything you changed back into dragged on the floor and got wet too. If you are disabled in any way, avoid this place.
Positive experience: Unique open air swimming pool in center of London. Entrance around 6GBP, open from 06:30 I was there at 09:00 on Thursday it was very quiet. 20p for a locker. Nice staff, reasonably clean pool, but it was warm enough, showers were nice. There is another pool inside but no lines. Pool is 20 meters long. A unique place, nice to have seen and swam in, will return
Fantastic experience: It was my first visit to the OASIS. Both indoor and outdoor pools are very nice. Forgot my membership card and had to show my registration email to get in.. Oh my dear the receptionist said HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me when checking me in(yes it was my 30th)! How sweet and adorable he is!
Negative experience: Good when you can use it. They don't provide actual pool times online, just 'normal' so you tend to make the trip there only to find you can't use the indoor pool because they've been given some money to close it. They offer the outdoor pool, but in winter, who wants that? If they did, surely the people who pay to rent the pool exclusively would want the outdoor pool themselves? They offer paper times for the pool once you get there (REALLY, didn't think we travelled back to 1999). More needs to be done. If you're going to take people's money, the least you can do is tell them when you plan to close your pool, BEFORE they make the trip). That's what websites are for, no?
Negative experience: Apart from security issues, it's a nice place to work out! Don't trust the lockers since they are so bendy. There was some theft recently but despite being staff so helpful, management do not care about it. Air conditioning is also terrible at the gym and as if you are working out in the street. It's too cold and air conditioning blowing on you. We complained about it many many times but management didn't care as usual. We go there to get healthy not sick people!!!
Fantastic experience: Love this gym, has a lot of equipment and a very good range. Large changing rooms but you need 20p for lockers.
Fantastic experience: Love this pool go every week
Positive experience: A decent and well-run centre with both indoor and outdoor heated pools. Open late into the evening during the week for an after-work swim. Certain parts are becoming rather tired and in need of an overall refurb but the changing areas have had a relatively recent spruce up and are spacious enough. Men's changing toilets DO need a very deep clean/ripping out and starting again. Showers are laid out in an inward facing square without booths so those of a more modest persuasion take note. For the hottest central London days there are sun deck areas to the rear of the open-air pool and a large upstairs deck above the indoor pool which are very popular with those looking to catch some rays, though between the windswept concrete and the buildings looming over you do get the impression of holidaying in a crumbling ex-soviet state resort. Shut your eyes, soak up the sunshine and smile. Reception staff are friendlier than in some Better centres I have been to. For the membership fee I regard this as a bit of a central London hidden gem - don't tell everyone!
Fantastic experience: Nice indoor and outdoor pools, both heated ..... even though it’s super busy after work you can still get a good swim in Big changing rooms means you not bumping into ppl
