Fantastic experience: If your looking for a friendly clean gym this is the one for you! Always a smiley face on the front desk and someone always around to give you a hand or show you new equipment. You don’t need pre workout for classes with Andrea she brings the tunes and the energy! Sara & Sam give excellent classes with an all round body workout. Nothing ever too much trouble. Gym always smells fresh too.

Positive experience: Great gym, clean, organized, lots of free weights, calm outside peak hours. Big con the day pass is not a 24h pass and expires at midnight.

Positive experience: I like this gym. The only thing for me is the layout of the equipment. Feel like ALL cardio should be together, also cardio machines facing a wall is horrendous. Staff are lovely though.

Negative experience: It’s terrible. Used PureGym for years in Leeds, this one is a joke. They only have one smith machine which makes no sense as it’s such a popular machine and there have been so many times I’ve come to workout and run out of time due to lack of equipment and having to wait for other people to finish.

Positive experience: Decent gym, mediocre facilities although the water stystem is terrible Waterfountain is slow and 4 times I have noticed (this is why I’m writing the review) I have had bits in my water after using the fountain

Negative experience: Shocking gym! 20 people in there and it feels really busy. All but one of the staff in there are rude I have been going to this gym now for 8 months and considering you have to walk past reception not one person in that time has even said hello you are all rude. You all sit there on your laptops or on your phones stealing a wage from the gym and more focussed on your online clients, you all have a job to do in there so do it and do the stuff on your laptop in your own time. Unless certain customers benefit you none of you bother with anyone else. All the staff apart from one all have a face on them, It’s not a very welcoming place to be. Hands down it is the WORST pure gym I have been too and looking by the reviews on here I’m not the only one that thinks this. Your prices for the size of the gym and the equipment that is in there is a rip off. Too many kids in there sat on their phones or hogging machines just to tense in the mirror even tho they are no bigger than a rolled up fiver, kissing and cuddling their partners. It’s just a terrible gym and ran horrendously. As soon as the new volt gym opens I would imagine you will lose a lot of customers. I also pay for the vitamin water but that machine is nowhere to be found If this carries on I will be speaking to someone higher up so this place can get looked at properly so that people are not wasting money

Positive experience: Its fairly decent! Its best to go at quiet times as there is only really 1 of each piece of equipment. (Although there are plenty of options for you to use, while waiting for the machine you want) Also the showers are typically dirty, things like clumps of hair left on the wall by filthy people are common & a damp smell in all of the shower stalls is near permanent!

Positive experience: Always parking and good location. The gym itself is always clean and tidy with regularly cleaned and checked quipment with lovely staff. The gym however is very small and gets full extremely quickly and not the place I would recommend if you're in a rush. Mondays are particularly busy and you will struggle to get hold of equipment or machines due to 2 classes and people being in after the weekend. Just needs to be bigger!

Negative experience: Awful Gym! Have been going to this gym for over a year now and can honestly say it’s the worst I’ve ever trained at in 20+years. Equipment is very substandard in need of repair or out of order constantly. Showers are dirty/ or no hot water, and the staff are the rudest most unfriendly iv ever encountered!..Not even a hello as you arrive, as they are constantly on their phones or laptops behind the podium they congregate at! However they do seem to go over the top to greet their friends or ‘click’ as it were! The young staff who claim they are ‘Personal Trainers’ seem to constantly ignore and simply walk past the many young students and people who obviously are new to a gym, therefore their form and exercises are completely wrong. Hence will eventually do themselves an injury! This I expect is because they’re not paying the ££££! an hour for their take on ‘personal training’! What happened to a friendly encouraging approach because it’s your job!? Clearly below them I expect! I’ve been training in gyms for years and never have I been to such an unfriendly unprofessional one. Membership is getting cancelled as soon as I can find a good one locally!

Negative experience: On the initial trial day, I experienced cold showers without hot water, which appears to be a recurring problem. The gym is acceptable, though not the best I've encountered. In addition to the aforementioned, I would like to provide a comprehensive review of Pure Gym. The gym seems to embrace a strategy akin to the fast fashion model, aiming to attract a broad customer base through affordable services. While this approach might hold appeal, it appears to prioritize Pure Gym's financial interests rather than delivering optimal value to its members. Let's delve into specific aspects of the gym experience. Starting with the gym's layout, it exudes a youthful and vibrant atmosphere that more closely resembles a youth club than a traditional fitness facility. The well-lit and energetically loud ambiance, occasionally punctuated by announcements akin to those found in a bustling retail environment, contributes to this unique character. However, during my recent visit, the absence of hot water persisted for a notable period of around two weeks. Additionally, the air conditioning failed to provide respite from external temperatures, resulting in a rather uncomfortable workout environment characterized by continuous perspiration. It is noteworthy that these conditions even extended to the availability of hot water for post-workout showers. Transitioning to equipment, it appears that Pure Gym might be cutting costs in this domain to offer competitive subscription rates. This decision, while making the gym more accessible financially, comes at the expense of equipment quality. Notably, the equipment, predominantly manufactured by Matrix, falls short when compared to the offerings of established industry players like Technogym. The disparity is evident not only in the cost-effective nature of Matrix equipment but also in its design limitations that could potentially lead to injuries. Specific examples include the suboptimal design of the Lat Pulldown's seating arrangement and the somewhat awkward footrest configuration on the Low Row machine. These design flaws may increase the risk of injuries, and the same concern extends to other equipment like benches and cable machines. Furthermore, the relatively new gym exhibited signs of wear and tear on the accessories of cable machines, indicating a potential compromise in equipment durability. Taking these factors into consideration, I made the decision not to become a member of the Pure Gym franchise. Instead, I have opted to invest my resources wisely by joining a reputable gym that prioritizes quality and safety, thereby minimizing the potential risk of injuries and preserving overall well-being.

Positive experience: I would normally give the gym a 5 star however in the last few weeks the temperature at the gym has been too warm. Not sure what is going on with the air con but they need to sort it out because it is too warm. Very uncomfortable. Also I have a 12 year old daughter who swims for a club and would love to come training with me. I don't understand why she can't join if she is with a adult at all times. I understand that due to the facility being unmanned at certain hours it is not a good idea to have kids in on their own however if they are with an adult I don't see what the problem is. She has to go to a different gym than me and it is not convenient at all.

Negative experience: Not the best sadly. No incline bench and no decline bench for chest. There isn’t a single machine in the whole gym to work arms, and also no machine for lower legs. The changing rooms are too small and sub-standard. There’s no sports water machine despite it being a supposed part of the ‘plus’ membership package, and the actual water fountains don’t work properly. Oh and the place often has kids there arsing around after the staff leave late on. Can’t comment on the staff as I haven’t met one yet in 3 months. The worst PureGym I’ve been in, and yet oddly the most expensive (£35 per month it actually costs). Apart from all the above it’s fine. Sadly PureGym now seems to have an ‘Amazon’ approach - i.e. put every other gym in the area out of business and then offer a substandard product. Progress.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym. Got everything you need and is exactly what you expect from a PureGym. Staff are friendly and helpful. Classes are are amazing! The gym overall has a brilliant atmosphere. It’s not the biggest gym in the world but I’ve been in bigger gyms that are no where near as good, this is a perfect box gym. Amazing gym overall and the rest of the members are terrific!

Negative experience: Couldn't even get in the place, what's wrong with a front desk and staff to help people who can't figure out the stupid app and pin-code machine thing? Don't think I missed out on much though, the place looked very cramped anyway

Negative experience: I wish i could give a better review as i was quite looking forward to this gym. Positive's: Friendly Staff Showers are great (actual shower rooms) Feels like the equipment is new Negatives: Its too small There really isnt enough equipment, especially cardio machines. Some of the equipment although new, feels cheap (others like the squat rack feel great) No Sauna/ steam room Like 4 changing cubicals that right next to showers (no changing rooms) Gym membership prices are changing seemingly every week All in all, kind of meh, much better gyms around for a similar price (especially if you can travel to wigan).

Negative experience: Was interested in this gym awaiting for the opening .... pretty boring gym tbh standard machines , small and looks cramped nothing special never understand why these gyms have no boxing bags or any goodies to change up the workout and make it fun won't be joining plenty of better 24 hour gyms available , this gym won't be open long I can't see it even making enough money to pay the electric bill ......

Negative experience: They couldnt have devised a more daft way to put people off joining than to do what they've done and put their monthly membership up already from £14.99 to £17.99! We were going to join but not now it's more expensive.
