Negative experience: Blows freezing air onto ppls backs. Inadequate HVAC controlled by people based on assumptions.

Negative experience: Parking is not free I was charged £3.20 upon leaving the St George’s way multi-story. If there is a way to get it free, it’s not very clear. The gym is okay, large free weights section.

Negative experience: When I first started coming to Puregym you would always see at least one cleaner. Now you do not see any The cleanliness is abysmal. I use the disabled facilities because of my gender identity and mostly use the toilets for when my binding comes un done. How can they have signs in these toilets threatening to terminate memberships when staff aren’t monitoring. The showers are diabolical. No hot water either. Get the cleaners back

Negative experience: Very dirty, toilets blocked , showers need regular cleaning, I use a no. Of puregyms and this ones the worst so far.

Positive experience: Great place for workouts However, the cables are always short of carabiners making it even more difficult to do sets especially during busy hours.

Negative experience: No air con in the weight room downstairs for two months now. Even working out at 5.30am its too hot. I have a good mind to take the £2.99 I pay a month elsewhere.

Negative experience: No AC, it stinks, impossible to breath.

Negative experience: No air con in the weight room for months. Even working out at 6am its a sauna and unbearable. The changing rooms are unclean despite the best efforts of the one cleaner they have, its too much for one person. Shows are either too hot to use or out of action constantly. Toilets are always blocked. Theres an issue with the drains in the changing rooms as from time to time it stinks in there. Sort it out Pure Gym otherwise you will be losing a lot of your customers.

Positive experience: Decent gym this

Positive experience: The best gym according to me, I have a lot of fun attending and doing my workouts. The equipments are great quality and the best environment to workout as it is safe and welcoming, but I'm only giving it a 4 star as it needs more gym equipments.

Negative experience: Downstairs air-con has been broken for a month. A temporary one has been wheeled in but has also broke! A big health hazard and lack of urgency to resolve the situation.

Negative experience: As per other recent reviews the air conditioning has been off in the weights room for weeks. The temperature in this room must be unsafe for a gym. Normally a very good gym but this issue is making me consider my membership.

Negative experience: Ac has been off in the weights area for weeks its like trying to work out in a sauna. Toilets are always flooded

Fantastic experience: Reece is amazing at his sessions and has an amazing training plan and really motivates you to hit your next target.

Positive experience: Showers were really dirty ... bad phone signal.

Negative experience: Could be better. Need more equipment for the amount of members. Busy almost all of the time, membership numbers should be restricted. Staff are helpful and friendly. As others have mentioned, what happened to the cleaning stations? Little opportunity to wipe down anything before or after use.

Fantastic experience: I do personal training session's with Lee mcnamara and I enjoy the session's as he is patient with me.

Negative experience: Shocking and dirty everywhere. Dirty equipment, nothing to clean it with, staff don’t care about upkeep to a point of hilarity. Stairs have dog faeces on them for weeks. There was actually a day where there were faeces overflowing from the men’s clogged toilets, and it was just left there for the entire day. Puregym what are you guys doing? You have Thousands of members paying £26+ per month in a nearly constant packed and popular gym, and you don’t want to invest just a little crumb of your gigantic pie into keeping your facilities clean?! It’s just absolutely deplorable. As a side note I would love to take whatever Chanice Symone is on to see this place as “clean”

Positive experience: Better than the St Albans one but rarely has the Hydration machine working. More choice of machines at least compare to other PureGyms. Average at best.

Positive experience: Good size and plenty of equipment but very busy even in non peak times and parking isn't great on my get 2 free hours in muti story and you get 3 hours free at Tesco at the moment but is a longer walk to gym

Positive experience: Can’t share any as I didn’t attend any classes and the resin for that is that you don’t have Zumba :( Please can we add Zumba to the list

Positive experience: The studio is my fave space in this gym. I wish there were more cleaning stations throughout the gym; very few people clean machines after use. I believe more cleaning stations and signage reminding people to wipe down their machine(S) after use will foster a culture of mutual respect and help improve overall cleanliness.

Positive experience: Big gym in the centre of town, free parking either in multistory long stay car park or 3 hours free in Tesco..gym was clean and good equipment, showers clean, sink area a little tatty and had a road bollard covering cracked tiles, looked dirty.

Negative experience: Equipment all over the place. Safe distance between equipment. People are moving the machine anywhere they want.

Negative experience: One of the pretty BIG mistakes is management hasn't control the amount of people in gym !!! Should be controlled and less people!!!!

Negative experience: opening times are very convenient but the gym is pretty dirty most of the time including the equipment as majority can't clean up after themselves because the gym lacks cleaning posts to wipe equipment down, just unsanitary. Small gripe but the front door censor also has its moments detecting you but wont open lol

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym, very new kit. Feels very quiet, everyone just keeps to them self's and never had any bother. So could be a good one for people with gym anxiety.

Negative experience: Bad gym, tight space and always too busy. Mens lockers are cramped. Showers do get hot so be careful of that!!

Negative experience: Despite being a new branch, everything seems to be falling apart in this gym. All the toilets were blocked and in a state at the time of my visit too.

Fantastic experience: Had a great class after few months away.

Negative experience: mess, no hot water for about 3 weeks. people treat their lockers as their private ones and leave the lockers permanently. I don't recommend it, I personally gave up.

Fantastic experience: I really like Pure Gym. The price is affordable and equipment good to use and right for your needs. I can also recommend Personal Trainer Neringa as she is an amazing trainer who guides you through your journey to achieve your goals! I have made a big progress within 6months training with Neringa. She listens and creates training plan that matches clients goals and is set to achieve your expectations she is an inspiration !!! Her favorite saying is " if I can do it, you can do it too!" I can recommend Neringa to anyone who would like to get to fitness, loose weight, grow muscles or improve mobility!

Fantastic experience: All types if equipment to use

Positive experience: One of the better PureGyms I’ve used, with a decent amount of equipment and space during most hours. Would be better if the toilets and changing rooms were cleaned more regularly.

Positive experience: Had a free pass here, location wasn't the best. However this is a well equipped, commercial gym. My only gripes were with the gym etiquette of the members itself, but I managed to have a great session here

Positive experience: Too many teenagers without membership just occupied machines and playing on the phone. Many druggies. Some people have a really terrible smell cause they are never using antiperspirant just for the higien.

Positive experience: Spacious, clean and well equipped gym. Go early to avoid the rush-hour nob eds. Main gripe would be that dumbells are seldom found in the correct place on the rack, which triggers an OCD inside of me that I never knew I had. Fortunately I can channel this fury into my lifts, which actually has a surprising positive effect. 4 stars.

Positive experience: Great gym especially for someone who’s new to lifting. I’ve progressed so much since starting. I just wish the spin classes weren’t in the middle of the working day as they’re one of my favourite things to do here.

Positive experience: A well stocked and spacious gym. Busy in peak times around the resistance and cardio machines. Nice studio area. However, I can never access the battle ropes/sledge area as it is constantly being used as an extra free weights training area for plyo, ball slams, kettle bells etc. I don't mind asking one person to move so I can at least do one or other of the activities but it's regularly occupied by four+ people.

Positive experience: Decent gym, good facilities, friendly staff. Only issue is the cheap price attracts a lot of kids who linger around the equipment, doing nothing but chatting, along with others who are busy filming themselves curling the 7.5s for their 200 followers on Instagram. Wouldn't recommend for serious gym-goers. Spend a bit more and get away from the pretenders

Positive experience: Good gym. My only complaint is that people put their dumbbells anywhere and everywhere, 8kgs at the 40s and vice versa, it becomes a losing battle trying to put your weights in the appropriate location as everyone seems to be putting them randomly. Staff should mention it to members who do this as it’s infuriating having to look 2 minutes to find a weight.. never seen it like this at another gym, but I guess it’s the people who come here, as there’s a few people prone to throwing 12s about as if they’re 50s

Positive experience: Nice and quiet gym, for a 24/7 gym it’s a very neat and tidy one (On a Saturday morning) The toilet aren’t the best but nothing to complaint for this price

Fantastic experience: I do Online Training with Neringa Grebliauskiene, I absolutely love how far we have come and how much she has helped me, I’ve lost more than 5kg in the last 6 weeks just by training with her and getting some advice on my diet, she is truly amazing! I recommend her to absolutely everyone that needs or wants a PT! Neringa is a person you need in your lives !

Fantastic experience: I always look forward to my training sessions with Neringa, in Stevenage. She really takes the time to get to know you and understand your personal fitness goals. Her focus on proper form and technique really impressed me compared to other experiences with trainers and her infectious optimism makes exercise fun. She is patient, friendly and encouraging!

Fantastic experience: Decent size, sometimes busy but off peak perfectly fine.

Negative experience: The booking system is a bit of a joke. I booked a pump class when there were still 15 spaces available (and this was at around 2 hours before). The studio was so crammed that I was about 2cms away from the wall and the person next to me. Please sort this out, I’m getting fed up of having to battle for space when I’ve actually bothered to plan ahead. This is a regular thing and I’ll just end up going somewhere else.

Positive experience: Good gym, opening times are five star. Don't have to worry anymore about getting to the gym before it closes.......not much eye candy, hopefully improve over time.

Negative experience: PTs at this gym use the sound system to blast their awful music to an extreme volume. I'm not sure why they do it as there is already music playing. So I have to listen to 2 terrible songs at once. I think they like to show off their playlists to come off as cool. It's agonising. Most times they put it on for a PT session and then they go on the other side of the room no where near the music so were all stuck listening to it. Would be nice to just have one song playing at a time and at a normal volume. Can be overwhelming with all the noise that's

Positive experience: £20 PCM you get what you pay for, basic gym, not too untidy, the equipment is good. I mainly wipe down my own machines. I have seen the manager cleaning. You enter in the scan entrance, the person sitting in the booth on the seat, is normally on their mobile and drinking tea, head down, they won't interact with you at all, if you ask for anything the response is pretty much, why the hell are you talking to me. I'm sure it is meant to be a help point or a welcome point, its not used for that purpose. It is just a gym, no customers service at all, the only time they will talk to you is if, you are looking at the personal trainer board, then a trainer will run over and promote their services. Once they see you are not interested they will walk off. The customer service is missing in this big gym. Machines are all working.

Positive experience: Gym is good, has good equipment but this can be a bit space if it's remotely busy. Sometimes there are a lack of plates. The showers are often broken and the toilets have been as well.

Fantastic experience: I've been there a few times only but it seems it's a good place to do your work out

Fantastic experience: Good place to workout... Staff are really friendly and polite. Free parking, everything you need for workout is available such as protein bars and drinks.

Positive experience: So far so good! Joined up this week as previous gym closed down. Only downside I feel that there could be either some TVs or WiFi there, the mobile signal isn't the greatest so difficult to stream anything on the phone whilst doing cardio. Apart from that it's a great gym!

Positive experience: Not bad. Most cleaning liquid run out fast and people don't clean after use. It is way too busy for the size, they should limit numbers. Also, some users stink really badly and no high quality ventilation is in place. Other than that, decent gym.

Negative experience: 1 leg machine for hundreds to share. You know which one I’m talking about, there’s queues next to it. No wonder everyone is Stevenage is walking around in chicken legs. Always occupied.

Fantastic experience: Been at this gym for a year now and it is currently my favourite gym, out of all the pther gyms ive been a member at it's friendly, clean, great facilities and loving the membership benefits

Fantastic experience: We are off to a flying start. I am relatively new to this gym . The Wednesday spin class with David Cook was excellent. No shouting or talking down to the class. We all know what we are there for. Already booked in for next week. The gym itself is very clean. This is a must for me personally.

Fantastic experience: Great gym to work out in, staff are so friendly and helpful, good quality equipment and classes are fun and effective.

Positive experience: Good gym, has everything I need. However I believe that 2 hours free parking is barely sufficient taking into account rest times for certain exercises as well as if you want to include cardio at the end. Maybe making an agreement with the council of extending the free parking by at least half an hour could help with this.

Positive experience: This gym is unstaffed. I'm absolutely gobsmacked that the people at PureGym thought this was a good idea. If you have any problems entering or exiting the gym (they have a gate system), have issues with gym members or equipment then there is nothing you can do. Its not surprising there were hardly any women using the gym when they have zero staff there, it's a serious issue. Let's hope no one has an accident as they'll be at the mercy of the other gym goers. The prices are cheap unsprisingly and the gym is well equipped but lacks any character. Many of the people here would rather attend another gym but unfortunately Portsmouth has very few. I was left waiting in the entrance for 15 minutes before I realized this as they have a sign instructing you to ring a bell if you want a tour.

Positive experience: I have been a member for around 7 months now. I tend to go to this branch between 6:30 - 7.30 am before work and although sometimes it can seem quite busy, there is a vast array of cardio equipment, weight machines and free weights have a good workout without having to wait for anything. Although i don't tend to use free classes they are a great option for the monthly fee you pay. The car park is a few minutes walk away from gym but it's not really an issue unless it's pouring down. However, I have got one issue which continues and still hasn't been rectified....I use this gym as it is near my work which is an hour from my house so I need to be able shower after a workout before I go to work. However, there is an ongoing issue with the mens showers. There are 5 or 6 showers and only 1, sometimes 2 produce hot water and the others are cold or don't work at all. Whilst the cleaning in the gym is pretty good it doesn't take long for all the male gym users using the same 2 showers before they become pretty grotty. Further to this, on 5 occasions in the last 6 months the have been signs up saying there is no hot water at all and i have had to take a freezing cold shower and now this sign has been an ongoing constant issue for the last 2 weeks. I appreciate due to the price you pay you don't expect all the bells and whistles you get at more premium gyms but you expect a warm shower. I really wanted to put a 3 star review because of this ongoing issue but if this was rectified quickly it wouldn't be deserved, however, it has been going on for so long i can't see it
