Our comment from FitFit UK about Chichester College:
Chichester College is a vibrant institution located in Chichester, United Kingdom, offering a range of educational opportunities for students of all ages. While many users have praised the excellent facilities and friendly staff, others have expressed dissatisfaction regarding the professionalism and organization of some courses.
Highlights of the college include:
- Great Learning Environment: A vibrant place for young people and adult learners with great courses available, especially noted for its Computing and System Development program.
- Supportive Staff: Many students have experienced helpful and welcoming staff, particularly in provision for special education needs.
- Restaurant 64: Highly recommended for its excellent food and service, providing a great dining experience prepared by catering students.
- Good Facilities: The college boasts appropriate amenities and easy access to public transport.
However, some users have raised concerns over:
- Inconsistency: Issues with disorganized classes and support from staff have been noted, making it difficult for students, especially adult learners balancing work and study.
- Hygiene and Conduct: Problems with cleanliness and in some cases, unruly behavior among students have been highlighted as areas needing improvement.
- Communication Gaps: There have been reports of minimal communication and support, particularly affecting international students and those needing additional help.
In summary, while Chichester College has much to offer in terms of academic programs and student support, several areas require attention to enhance the overall experience. It remains a great option for those looking for a welcoming environment.
Chichester College: Opinions
Negative experience: The place is nice but teachers are unprofessional and incompetent. Stay away.
Negative experience: I signed up as an adult learner for 24/25, to study to be an Electrician in the evenings. Honestly the worst educational experience of my life to date. Disorganised. Staff that didn’t care or want to be there. Changing the start and finish times constantly to suit their needs, rather than what adult students (who are all in full time work) had signed up for making it nearly impossible to attend. Theory lessons that were just writing down the missing words on a printout from the screen with the misspelled and grammatically incorrect PowerPoints displayed on it (I wouldn’t even expect children to learn like this, let alone adults trying to understand a trade). And to top it off, a practical workshop that didn’t have enough equipment to serve all of the students that had signed up. Many of us raised our concerns to which we were told things would get rectified, and sadly they did not. It was so bad, 9 weeks later, I’ve demanded a full refund as it’s just a complete waste of time. Such a shame really, and so many of us so disappointed. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!
Positive experience: A vibrant place for young people
Fantastic experience: Excellent college, Excellent for sen support
Negative experience: Absolutely degusting college, the lack of hygiene in the bathrooms really unpleasant, all the other students were rude degusting and disrespectful constantly swearing smoking weed, teachers were very impatience and not very polite, if you want to study go somewhere else. Canteen is over packed and crowded with people the food is okay but it's absolutely cramped with people usually. They say the college is outstanding but it's not it's a really bad college so if you are planning to go here go to a a different college
Fantastic experience: love the holiday club ,great place for summer camp
Fantastic experience: Great place to learn..friendly staff etc. Easy access to public transport..
Fantastic experience: Nice place, easy access by public transport.
Fantastic experience: It was great place for pride
Negative experience: Horrible college. Filled with chavs/roadmen who bully people. Heard very homophobic language f while walking past. On top of that these chavs/roadmen In the smoking area often target people who got special needs like myself. The worst thing is the staff do not do anything. They just tell you to ignore them but in reality something should be done about it instead. I even had to keep my hood up walking past people so I don’t get bullied.
Positive experience: My preparatory college and grateful to God for attending the college surebet for new intakes
Positive experience: Lovely food , such good value ,well done students
Fantastic experience: skate park good place to light up a zoot
Fantastic experience: Very clear signs, great layout, friendly staff and polite students.
Fantastic experience: we are refitting / refurbishing the student accommodations. the second time round / this semester I mite add all looking good. so not a young student my self lol but the place / college looks pretty amazing the grounds are plenty full. no the place looks very good. OK I've star'd it high as we've all contributed on a good job. r@r.
Fantastic experience: My son has attended the last year of age 14-16 provision as a home educated student doing his Maths and English Gcse's alongside sports. The teachers have been fantastic. He often needs extra explanations and ample patience is given. They could see he needed extra support in one subject and provided it, that is something we fought for in school but that wasn't given. He still struggles sometimes but can cope with College unlike school. Thank you
Positive experience: Good facilities with friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Amazing
Fantastic experience: The best teachers and training program
Fantastic experience: Restaurant 64 is based within Chichester college and is a fabulous place to eat , it is only open 1 evening a week for the dinner menu but I think it does 2 days a week for lunch time. It is served by the students who do an outstanding job, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone
Fantastic experience: The rugby tournament was brilliant
Fantastic experience: great school, great management
Positive experience: The courses here are great
Negative experience: This collage is unorganised, staff are rude, the staff will not give you any help with your course. Don’t send your child here.
Positive experience: Enjoyed lunch in Restaurant 64 and reunion with friends. Pleasant surroundings, well presented meal by catering students - much to commend even if parking was a little difficult to locate - that made easier by helpful reception lady
Fantastic experience: Fantastic staff and the students too, I returned to college as a very mature student and have been made to feel very welcome by both, so thank you all!!
Fantastic experience: I go here it’s Ite
Positive experience: We went to Restaurant 64. The food was excellent. The service does need some attention to detail, some drinks never arrived and we didn't get any coffee at the end. Having said all that, it's very good value for the money and it does exist to train up the restaurant staff of the future. Went again, the service was much improved, a very pleasant evening.
Fantastic experience: We went for a three course lunch in Restaurant 64 where catering students try out their newly acquired skills. Very pleasant meals, but you must book.
Fantastic experience: Always have found them helpful. Me, hubby and all are children have been or are at Chichester College.
Positive experience: It is rated Outstanding by Ofsted but this college is anything but outstanding. If it was anywhere near that level they wouldn’t have had to shut down the music department and have numerous lecturers lose their jobs. Also I remember Music and Performing Arts wasn’t available on a school Taster Day for unexplained reasons. When I came for my first course interview, the man whose job was to inform the lecturers of my appointment unexpectedly went home. The workers are inconsistent and half the people in charge of courses don’t know what they’re doing. Before applying for Art, I was told by Progression + the course fee is 2 grand and I don’t have to apply for a student loan and don't have to pay the fee as long as I have a job and earn less than a certain amount otherwise I could pay monthly. They even said I can NOT apply for a loan for a Level 2 course. Recently it turned out from the Art department that the fee is 4 grand and the loan is mandatory employed or not, this means I don’t even know if the Art Department are right. Therefore in my opinion this college is not outstanding. It may be great, or amazing, the Music course was amazing but most of the people are unfocused, inconsistent and give misinformation by accident so sadly I would only rate it as good.
Positive experience: Rugby tour with the U14s.
Positive experience: Fantastic college, but you get an automatic £100 fine if you are in the car park for more than 30 minutes unless you sign in at the office, worst place to park, but worst of all blue badge holders only get 30 minutes too,so even though you have to still display your badge, your 3 hours entitlement is void in this car park, I have had fines due to my son coming out late,as a wheelchair user I have to ring the college from outside to get them to sign me in
Positive experience: It’s okay I guess
Fantastic experience: Fine dining. Excellent. Well done to the students and their lecturers.
Fantastic experience: Restaurant sixty four, fabulous, very tasty meal. Great service.
Negative experience: I completed all of my course work but for some reason the moody teacher decided to fail me, despite telling me my work was good before they marked it!
Fantastic experience: Excellent service, food and ambience
Fantastic experience: Very nice college with great acting skills. They taught my ex to disappear with another man! Thats oscarworthy skills
Fantastic experience: It is amazing
Negative experience: If I could give a -review I would. Galvanic body therapy on my inner thighs at Oasis Beauty left me with uneven look on my inner thighs, that has left me feeling very sad and regretful I ever had it because it seems like it wont go back to the way it was. This was not apperent until over a year later. It has also affected my confidence. I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THIS PLACE. COMPLAIN QUICKLY.
Negative experience: Minimal communication and support to parents and students which is vital for young adults who are struggling especially during the lock downs, time tables are often wrong making pointless travel causing lack of motivation which is already effected by covid19. I certainly wont be sending my youngest here.
Negative experience: I am an international student and had the most horrible experience with this college. Racist, patronising teachers that made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Do not recommend at all.
Negative experience: Horrible
Negative experience: Such a horrible college. Extremely conscending, unprofessional staff. Unresponsive, irresponsible and ableist. Would never recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Great school they always have the right teacher of the lesson even with the Corona virus affecting the lives of the teachers it also has great facilities and good covid 19 protection systems in effect
Fantastic experience: Was here about 10 + years ago and now I'm back for a change of career fantastic College loads of support fantastic place
Fantastic experience: Very clean. Lots of sanitizers. Friendly welcoming staff. For me i found at reception with the perspex , the music it made it difficult to understand the receptionist. Thought it was just me but the following lady had same problem. Maybe quieter music?
Fantastic experience: افضل كلية في المملكة المتحدة كنت ادرس هناك في عام ٢٠١٧ كانت تجربة رائعة حقا وسأعاود الكرة ، تحياتي من دولة قطر
Negative experience: Chichester college is a truly incompetent college with unprofessional and patronising staff that's looks and acts like a preschool. Even with everything at there fingertips they can't let you do the course you want. it might as well take tens years or more so don't send your kid here or give them money its not worth it.

Fantastic experience: Great college A brilliant space stem fair Had lots of different fun activities at the space stem fair Students had done a great job Fabulous college
Positive experience: Law students are the best, Subway is good, Coasters is too damn busy and there is no where to sit
Negative experience: I started by doing a BTEC in Electrical Engineering. But the lecturer was a nasty and cruel man. He took certain people under his wing and tormented others. (I was not one of either but observing his behaviour was sickening). After a few months I had enough of his disorganised and sloppy curriculum and changed courses to motor vehicle repair since the engineering courses had no spaces. I was told I had to get an apprenticeship at a garage and was referred to Bosham SAAB. The manager and staff at the garage just had me making tea and coffee as well as running errands for my first six months. By the time I was allowed to touch a car there the manager's son used a hammer to remove a gearbox as he was frustrated it would not come off. He broke off one of the bolt mountings, which resulted in the customer going from a clutch replacement to a complete gearbox replacement. The boss's son, John decided to blame me and the manager fired me even though I did not touch the car. I requested help to get another apprenticeship and instead after almost 1 year on the course I was told I could not continue without an apprenticeship and was kicked off the course. I asked why I cannot get another garage to accept me and the lecturer said "I don't have time to call around" I called around and was accepted into Renault, but the lecturer didn't like me going over his head and kicked me off the course. After numerous complaints that got nowhere I wasted a year of my life.

Fantastic experience: Best college in the area by far
Positive experience: This college is Amazing really outstanding. I am a Computing and System Development student for the HND full-time course. The tutors are incredible and you receive a lot of attention and they really take care of you, rather than universities where you are just one more student in hundreds in your class, here you will have the opportunity to make friends and learn in a different approach. You have close feedbacks that are helpful to you develop yourself. I am proud to be doing my HND here.

Thank you for your review Matthew, we're really glad that you have had a good experience with us. Have a lovely summer!
Fantastic experience: This place deserves every kind of recognition available. Never in my life had I seen so much effort put into making people feel at ease, especially being a foreigner. The International department is great, the rest of the college is also outstanding. The students are friendly and everyone will try to help you. I particularly loved the labs and the football pitch.
