North Quarry

Fantastic experience: Just a quary.... with bolted climbs and a very short walk in.

Positive experience: This is a local climbing spot. It's not particularly well known outside the climbing community and seems to be popular with motorbikes too. There are a few pre bolted routes with varying difficulty, and even a multi pitch set up. It's a great place to practice your climbing shills as there is plenty of room for everyone who visits. Parking is a huge issue though. There are two little pull-ins that can cope with maybe 5 cars between them. If you visit, it's worth car sharing and arriving early. It is a North facing quarry so the face itself is mostly shaded all day long. The nearest shop is about 3 miles away. There is NO disabled access here I'm afraid. There are a couple of posted walks very nearby that lead up to Crookes peak so parking is often shared by walkers. The quarry itself does have sheep in residence so please take care and take your rubbish home.
