Positive experience: Good leisure centre

Positive experience: The swimming pool is cold. Facilities are average. Smaller gym than what I am used to. The sports classes are more expensive than other places I have attended. A good range of activities though. Clean and tidy. Welcoming staff.

Fantastic experience: The rollaskating on sat is excellent

Fantastic experience: Does a great inclusive roller disco on Saturday afternoon's, plenty of parking, welcoming staff, clean facilities.

Positive experience: Staff are friendly, the pool is dated but still nice, also has a hot tub, sauna and steam room. The hot tub is never hot enough to be nice to use. The gym is good, especially for cardio, the weights area is limited, notably there is no bench press only a smiths machine so not the right place for those into their weights. But overall at the very low price per month its excellent value.

Fantastic experience: This leisure centre is slowly changing to the better side with the new management, in my opinion. Very slowly, but they are trying to change things around. The gym area is clean, although needs a bit of equipment update. But they put more new equipments in the next room, which is great. They slowly started adding more classes. The class I have visited was ok, not enough pressure or sweat, but not too bad either. I have not visited any other classes, but I heard they are really good and fun. They put the kids corner with few toys and the books for kids, which is great. The swimming pool has some improvements since we visited last time. We went for a family fun session today and were pleasantly surprised. They put some music, few swimming toys and equipment for kiddies which was a great touch. Changing rooms and floors are clean. The pool water used to be disaster water temperature wise, but lately it has been improved and it is warmer than it was before. Swimming teachers like Dan and Amy are the credits, they are both fantastic! There are some extras like badminton hire, party room hire and etc, but not enough information on the app. You have to contact reception for that. Receptionists and staff members are polite and helpful. Hard to get through the phone lines, need to go to reception area and speak to someone to sort things out.

Negative experience: Never answer the phone, all I wanted to know was if the pool was open, would have been a 30 second call. Useless.

Fantastic experience: School swimming contract

Negative experience: Place is getting better, but changes in swimming teachers are crazy. We already cancelled membership once and now trying again. However 4 lessons and three different teachers. And some not very professional.

Positive experience: Clean facilities are fit for purpose. A dance studio with a barre would be a welcome addition, but otherwise, there is good variety of fitness classes. The glaring omission is of a cafe!

Negative experience: Told me off for spotting someone

Negative experience: Do not waste your time!!! If you are looking to go on a nice family swim with your little one, don’t waste your time!! You will pay 10£+ to be constantly parented by the lifeguards. The don’t hand out any floats because they haven’t changed their Covid 19 rules… still (lazy)!! You are better of just going to Carterton or any other in the surrounding area for that matter.

Positive experience: Good 1 off price for swimming sauna and steamroom

Negative experience: Where should I start ? I don't think this review will come as a surprise for the people who work there/management/customer service. I have complained for the past month and sent out so many emails about a refund from faringdon leisure centre as they have failed to provide the basics gym equipment and for few weeks they transferred some of the equipment left in the hallway, failing to apologise to customers. Their way of warning was just putting a little paper at the entrance. I,of course ,changed gym after few months because not only the people-kids I should say-that work there are useless at giving informations, but when I approached them multiple times I felt like they did not care or just did not genuinely know anything about the place they work at. I have sent at least 15 emails about a refund for the last month and customer service told me they approached the manager multiple times to give me an answer and been told he emailed me back (of course he didn't ,I had to go back to junk emails as well from 2 months ago and nothing there). I am so disappointed in this kind of behavior and so many people who wanted to join this leisure centre have been warned by me that customer service/management just DO NOT CARE about you.

Negative experience: Never any staff on reception, facilities are poor, seems massively underfunded. They have a car park.

Positive experience: A good workout in the gym followed by a swim.

Negative experience: Awful. No parking, staff are incompetent and the manager has lied consistently. The equipment is mostly on its last legs and they've shut half the gym equipment off in another room and yet a gym membership is exactly the same price as it was. Gym is booked out to the college at completely random times and you're asked to leave despite the fact you paid to be there. Honestly, find somewhere else

Positive experience: Some areas are getting a bit run down now and it shows that this place is struggling a bit. Main hall has no heating so consider this if you're going to spend much time there during really cold snaps.

Positive experience: Water is way too cold

Positive experience: Situated in the College grounds the hall floor was slippery due to the dust on it. The coffee machine looked, to be polite, grubby and the vending was poorly stocked. Only thing I did like was the cleanliness of the toilet facilities.

Negative experience: Sauna and steam room never working! Also bubble pool not working.

Positive experience: Staff are nowhere to be seen for information. Pool is too cold for small children to swim and needs to be warmer by a few degrees. Other than that the website to book classes or sessions is a mess and very difficult to navigate. The centre itself is really well located and plenty of parking. The general upkeep is also good.

Fantastic experience: Clean modern facility. The spa, sauna and steam room is a nice bonus. Friendly staff. Some minor maintenance issues but nothing terrible. An asset to the local community.

Fantastic experience: Impressive clean looking swimming pool that was used by a swimming club. Facilities were well looked after.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous, clean pool with sauna, jacuzzi and steam room poolside. Separate little area to the side for non swimmers to enjoy the water. Really great stuff. However Better do need to improve their booking system, it's impossible to book a child on your own booking.

Negative experience: More a review of Better/GLL. Booked swimming but had to cancel due to daughter getting her ears pierced at her Mum's and needing them to heal for 6 weeks. Cancelled approx 3hrs after booking. Contacted Better to arrange a refund but surprise surprise I have had just a standard email response about how busy they are. Not good enough, keeping my money for nothing, they still filled the swimming slots I had booked so they didn't lose anything, only gained my money for doing nothing. Not impressed and not happy, so will consider spending my money elsewhere in future. You suck Better/GLL!!

Negative experience: FOR THE SWIM FOR ALL SESSION Awful. Usually go to carterton and in comparison this ain't great. It's got a hot tub which is cool, but the pool stank so we left before trying that. They do give you a decent sized lane to swim in when it's a swim for all. But the whole thing is very shallow. At 5f 3 I could still stand up at the deepest part. The staff were friendly enough but it just didn't feel clean. The showers can be easily seen from the pool which was a little uncomfortable, also the changing rooms are right next to the pool in the same room. If I were you I'd go to carterton if you can. It's a bigger and cleaner pool, with an extra shallow pool for young kids. They section off a lane, though this is a single lane compared to faringdon's double it's plenty of space and gives room for others the other side. Both are basic pools with no slides, and I'm talking about what they are like during the swim for all sessions. Both have free parking and both are £5.20 for an adult and I think £3 for a kid.

Positive experience: Went for a swim... social distancing enforced which is good, and pool numbers are very very limited. So book early for a swim on the website and know it's well organised from a covid point of view.

Positive experience: Nice facility for the local community. Needs a little bit of cosmetic TLC in places. Staff really friendly. Joining/rejoining fees have increased by way over inflation over the last few years. As a facility for the community, surely this can't be right?

Positive experience: Выкупила двух месячный сразу , не дорого 48 фунтов ,но меня не предупредили что ходить надо по расписанию . В первый день пришла на удивление почти никого не было раздевалка не закрывается снаружи так что немного переживала за свой айфон ( но ничего страшного не случилось ) сауна , джакузи побыла наверно пол часа и тут мне поставили перед фактом что мне надо выйти . Ну я ушла настроение было испорчено .Теперь не знаю когда могу ходить

Fantastic experience: My grand daughter went for a lesson and it was very good. Clean and bright and the instructor was great.

Positive experience: Nicely architectured pool with a hot tub, sauna and steam room. Gym is pretty good, though they don't let under 16s go over a tiny weight.

Positive experience: Took my daughter swimming today, helpful staff and easy access to the pool, pool side lockers and changing rooms with toilets and showers. Pool is spacious with a dedicated lane for swimmers who want to do lanes. Jacuzzi on the pool side and sauna and steam room included. If your looking for a nice pool to go to at a reasonable price then here is the place to go. Decor could do with a bit of a revamp but didn't effect the facilities

Fantastic experience: Awesome facility for a growing town. Clean and up to date. Lots of public access even though it’s on a school site. Gym was clean and open planned with a very helpful gym instructor in there. Was told there was an astro turf pitch coming, would be good for the local clubs I expect. Great facility would definitely visit again.

Positive experience: My only complaint is that the showers never seem to be working properly. Other than that a nice, friendly and well maintained gym.

Fantastic experience: This great facility will have something for everyone, including: an air conditioned gym with technogym equipment, an 25m indoor swimming pool, a relaxing sauna and steam room, group exercise studios that host a variety of classes, a large 6 court sports hall for a variety of racquet sports and ball games, squash courts and free car parking

Positive experience: Local public leisure centre. I mainly use the swimming pool. Good for lane swimming as the lanes are wider than most so you can overtake (or be overtaken) without too much trouble. It is let down slightly by the frequent issues with the poolside showers. The gym is small but well equipped with the usual range of aerobic equipment such as treadmills, rowing machines, steppers etc. Also has Technogym strength equipment.

Positive experience: Having taken out a monthly subscription to include the Gym, Swimming and classes, I was told if I didn't use the pool etc I could change my membership. I tried to do this to reduce it to only include the Gym and guess what..... Told I couldn't do it as it was an online membership! I took out this membership following the gym induction at the desk, even after explaining this I was still told I could reduce it but I could cancel my membership and start again and oh yes pay the £30 admin fee again!! All I want to do is get fitter but as normal it Costa you... Not happy at all, when asked to speak to someone I was told no one there. Be careful before you take a membership out!!!
