Horsted Health Club is a friendly club located in Little Horsted which welcomes members as well as hotel guests. We have several facilities available at the club such as a fully fitted gym, classes, indoor pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. On top of this we have a lovely area for you to grab a coffee and catch up with friends! Please note, Horsted Health Club does not accept cash. FIND OUT MORE

Negative experience: Overall for a spa day, not worth it. Pros: lots of facilities, sauna, steam and pool are nice Cons: facilities are not super nice, it’s definitely not what you think of when you think luxury. The place is also extremely cold and the robes they give you are paper thin. Treatment - mud room Do not pay money for this. The facility you have this in is NOT any sort of nice hamam feel, you have to sit on cold tiled surfaces after you apply the mud to the body. Before the mud you can exfoliate yourself with salt, but every single tap or shower in the room is freezing cold. Then, you can hit a button for steam and randomly after about 15 minutes it shoots down freezing water. Then, to rinse all the mud off (which I didn’t notice any benefits from) you have to stand under a freezing cold shower. Do not pay money for this. Facial - again, treatment room was freezing. I had to have five towels on me (they don’t offer blankets at all and certainly nothing warmed) to even try to be able to relax. The facial isn’t really for skincare, it’s for relaxation so I wouldn’t expect much from the skin aspect. I also wasn’t taken through any of the products used so I have no idea what was put on my face. Not worth the money at all.

Negative experience: Lockers not working or hair driers not working. no shower gel. Had to take my bag clothes into the pool side. Not a very hood spa experience I was for.

Negative experience: Used to have a membership but cancelled as got fed up with paying £80 pm when many people just walk in for free and use the facilities. Zero security measures, can just walk straight through to changing rooms, and then straight through to pool. Never saw anyone cleaning, showers always disgusting. Jacuzzi frequently out of use. Had the avocado on toast and something cracked my tooth. The list goes on, more of a stressful experience than a relaxing one. Very good gym facilities however, and usually not busy. But again people just go in for free.

Negative experience: We wanted to try the gym and pool area but were not allowed to do it because it was after 6pm, although they shut at 10. We called twice beforehand to check if we can do a trial and were told it’s absolutely fine, we just need to get a daily pass. We drove all the way from Brighton, got there just before 7 pm and only then were told that we can’t book a daily pass after 6, although there was only one person in the whole pool. Really poor service.. we were planning to get a membership, but not anymore if we can’t even try the facilities after work…

Negative experience: BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE After several emails I finally managed to arrange to go back to view cctv footage to see if helped find out who stole £560 out of my wallet but they conveniently seemed to have lost it so wasting another 3 hours of my time Butt whilst there I did manage to get into member only areas ( changing rooms ) with ease and without being approached by any staff very poor security measures as long as they got your money they don’t care past that point

Negative experience: Showers is the ladies changing rooms are very dirty at the end of the day. Two weeks ago there were no toilet rolls in any of the women’s toilets at 9pm. Would be nice if they would clean around the swimming pool as it’s very slippery and it’s as if you walk an a thin layer of alguae.

Positive experience: We booked a 2 night spa package about 1 month in advance. Trying to book any additional treatments running up to our stay was made particularly tricky by the unanswered/unreturned phone calls and unanswered emails. When we did eventually get through we were told the treatment we wanted (spiced mud bath) was unavailable at the time of requesting a booking but MIGHT be available by the time we arrive. Instead we were told we could book the Rhassoul Experience and then switch to the mud bath if it was available. Either way, our 50 minute slot was “blocked out” for us. We phoned a few more times leading up to our stay to check if we could swap/book our desired treatment and were told it was still unavailable but we were assured of the “blocked out” session. Upon our arrival my wife’s facial was booked as a massage, we were told the Rhassoul wasn’t working and that we could only book a 20 minute treatment, not the 50 minutes we were assured was blocked out. Additionally, an extra treatment which we didn’t want had been booked on our day of arrival. The whole booking system is a shambles. It’s very frustrating to be in expectation of a relaxing experience only to be denied it. I did my best to explain the errors to the receptionist who didn’t seem to be listening to our complaint and kept repeating something about making sure we were spending the same money for our treatments as the ones we were denied, which really wasn’t the issue. I was too relaxed after my massage to go over the problem again as she hadn’t listened the first three times. She apologised for the inconvenience, but I came away feeling unheard and was disappointed we hadn’t really been looked after. Despite this, Ellie gave a fantastic massage and my wife tells me Flora performed a wonderful facial. In summary, poor booking system, unsympathetic receptionist with poor listening skills, but, fantastic treatments.

Positive experience: Very good value for money. Great to have a sauna, steam room, pool and jacuzzi in one place. Only down side is the jacuzzi hasn’t been working on a number of occasions

Positive experience: Lovely spa to sit and relax. We paid for the day, £15, and spent a lot of time in the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. There is a pool and gym too.

Positive experience: We stayed recently at the hotel for a short break so got to use the health club as hotel residents. The dressing rooms are clean and large with separate cubicles for dressing after showering. It was a shame that when we were there the jacuzzi was out of order but this wasn’t a major issue as the indoor pool was fantastic. Really large and a great temperature for swimming lengths. The only issue I’d raise is that we did have to wait a while for our rhassoul mud treatment and there were no clear instructions on what to do as it was self led. I ended up asking but it still wasn’t clear but we enjoyed the treatment nonetheless and our skin was left feeling super soft afterwards. There is a lovely looking cafe in the spa which had a festive afternoon tea on offer but we didn’t get a chance to use this whilst we were there. All in all, I’d say that the spa facilities are good, especially for a hotel spa but staff did seem a little preoccupied / busy.

Negative experience: Went Tuesday with my mum as a special treat but was very disappointed. We e mailed with a list of things including cleanliness to poor massage. Got a reply saying sorry but no customer care……… I’m upset for my mum as she cares for my dad and it was the first day away for over a year!!! So upset!

Negative experience: Appalling service from the health club staff yet again, I really don’t know why I bother paying for their “services”. Check-in was painful and really slow. The receptionist was very rude and unhelpful. There was nowhere to sit/lay in the pool area. The spa had double booked multiple people and was heaving. Ordered food to arrive before our treatments, but when it arrived it was wrong and only 5 minutes before my wife’s treatment. WILL NOT BE RETURNING.

Negative experience: The booking process was easy and done by email. Trying to get hold of anyone after booking was another matter, left message (no call back received) and emailed (one replied but didn't answer the question). On arrival it seemed a little disorganised, we filled forms, changed and went to the waiting lounge. We had a treatment first, which was good, staff very attentive and pay attention to my concern areas. Lady provided good level of information. As my emails had gone unanswered we asked at the desk about how much worked, we were given a basic level of detail. We went to the relaxation room, basically a room full of chairs, normally lighting did not make it that relaxing. We got no information about the facilities, location or other information on arrival. We explored the pool area. room was out of order but everything else was operational. For lunch the staff member was very friendly and we only had a shortish wait for food. Tables after us were advised post order that food was delayed due to another function. I felt sorry for the member of staff, she was really busy and in the end joined by the PT to help with food. We did not see a drinks menu but asked for coffee, the menu also had no signs to highlight v or ve options. My friend and had a nice time, but felt that the service was very basic and the spa day was more a lovely treatment and a pool. The staff were kind, but at times to busy to help. The price point is on par with others but if you are looking for a special spa day it's not the best option.

Negative experience: We discussed available dates via email but when we accepted the time we were offered we didn't hear a reply. We emailed and phoned several times a day without any response. When I finally managed to speak to someone posing as a different customer, I enquired about our booking and then the responses stopped again. Eventually I was told we had no booking and my partner is no longer able to celebrate her birthday, too late to book anywhere else. This is hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced and would recommend anyone should avoid it like the plague.

Negative experience: Extremely poor. Tried to book treatment and no response to emails or phone calls. Nobody calls you back when promised. Completely disorganised. Rude and indifferent staff. I was told that the sauna was out of action for months and steam room door broken and out of use for weeks. Other customers I've spoken to all agree the place is really falling apart. Won't visit again.

Positive experience: Huge pool for a health club. Clean, tidy. Great facilities, although kind of felt like a lobster being boiled in the hot tub! Not too busy on our Saturday visit. Shame there were no treatments available or more loungers poolside.

Positive experience: The swimming pool is very nice, as the relaxing area around it. The gym has some good resistance equipment, but the treadmills are old. The spin room is poor with bikes that do not have any readouts. Generally good but not wonderful.

Fantastic experience: No problem in giving this club the full star allocation. The staff are excellent, as are the facilities always clean, with plenty of machines in the gym. It's always a pleasure to come over for a work out, relaxation, and something to eat for a light lunch. The classes we have attended have been of the same high standard. We travel over from Eastbourne and find it worth our while, as the clubs in our area aren't in the same category. All in all a well managed club. Thank you.

Positive experience: Did a 2 for 1 offer here for a friend who was getting married. What a lovely place, the swimming pool was lovely as was the sauna and jacuzzi. The high tea was beautifully presented, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The views over the golf course and beyond were amazing. Can understand why people choose this place to get married, stunning! Not sure about the statue at the front though, he might put you off!
