Negative experience: I booked a free trial through the website for today’s date. Opening hours are published 10-3. Arrived at 10am, no one there. Doors locked, lights off, no one answering the phone. Waited twenty minutes then gave up. Won’t be coming back

Fantastic experience: Really great experience, not really a fitness person but Jeff helped me find a plan that works for me - the classes are amazing! Perfect location too in town and Julie's homemade cakes in the cafe are a great treat.

Fantastic experience: Always friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I have been a member of Body Tech quite a few times over the last fifteen years (when I have been motivated enough to join a gym) and they have been consistently great, with a large selection of equipment. Jeff, Kev and co are always welcoming and helpful, and Bodytech is really convenient for me as it is so close to my work.

Negative experience: Quite simply........rude. Never have i been spoken to in such a rude manner. The "manager" (as i presume he is) was unhelpful, rude and abrupt. I do NOT recommend this gym to anyone, if this is how they treat people making enquiries!

Negative experience: Yeah I think the previous review is a bit bias, there is a cheaper gym less than 5 mins away with more facilities! At first things are ok here. If you've not been to many other gyms you won't mind. Location is good for those that work in town and the price isn't too outrageous. But after a while you'll notice the holes in the place. First of. There is 2 mens changing rooms. The one down stairs has a shower block with a few cubicles in there. Only 2 of which work. The area also suffers leaks after the rain and there are patches of carpet in there that are mouldy as a result. The mens changing room upstairs isn't much better. It's a little smaller with a shower block for 2, but to use that you practically have to stand face to face with anyone else using the shower area as it is quite small, which as you can imagine is a little uncomfortable. There is also a sauna facility and jacuzzi. Both of which I have never seen in working order in the 2 years I was a member. I gather you have to book the jacuzzi but from the look of it I didn't want to go in. The gym itself seems to lean more towards weight training so it attracts a larger male crowd I'd say. There is an abundance of testosterone in the air as a result, and this is the only gym I have ever been to where there are signs in the changing rooms warning "anyone caught dealing drugs will be banned". It didn't seem to discourage people however as I still suspect I saw this happening on a couple of occasions. I think the straw that broke the camels back was when I heard some negative sexual harassment allegations about the one owner of the gym and a good friend of mine. As a result I left the place and thought I'd post an honest review. They will try and tie you into a year contract as a minimum but I recommend only trying out for a month. You'll quickly establish if you like the place or not.
