Fantastic experience: The hall was hired for iaido training. Really nice venue. Clean and tidy changing rooms and toilets. And the toilets are separate ! I really despise having toilets in the changing room. The hall was clean. The manager did that she had cleaned it with the machine before we got there. And as it is only a 2 hour drive from Birmingham I will happily drive there for more courses.

Fantastic experience: Spot on gym. Not all the fancy unnecessary stuff, but a good gym with the right equipment and excellent people running it.

Fantastic experience: I've been a freelance instructor at The Hurst for 2 years and it is one of my most favourite places to teach. The members are so friendly, there is a really good atmosphere with everyone, and of all the places I teach, this is the only place that cares enough about the instructors to give us ALL a chocolate advent calendar! The functional fitness suite is brilliant with TRX, battle ropes, slam balls, viprs, plyo boxes etc, as well as kettlebells, free weights etc, and the gym itself has all of the cable and standard resistance equipment you need, as well as plenty of cardio machines. There is a dedicated spin room where the bikes are set up ready all the time, and there is loads of free parking. If you like a place where there is the personal touch, and a very friendly welcome, this is definitely the gym for you *I am a freelance instructor, not paid or influenced to give a review, I genuinely love teaching there

Fantastic experience: We had a party there and it was a good environment. It was a wonderful experience. The only problem was that it was difficult to locate, asides that I enjoyed myself there. There was a warm reception at the entrance.

Fantastic experience: In 2018 The Hurst Gym underwent a makeover which uncluded an expansion and upgraded equipment. As part of the project we also now have a functional room which has a stretch area, plyo boxes, battle ropes, kettle bells and much more. So not only do you have the lovely welcoming atmosphere created by the staff you have a nice airy space to work out in with modern equipment. We also offer over 35 fitness classes included with all our adult memberships. Positive experience: Ok facilities but in need of a full renovation. Squash courts sadly neglected. Shame as so much potential given the affluent area.

Negative experience: My daughter is a member of the gym and has tried to take a friend in as a guest but was denied access as my daughter is only 17. Apparently, you have to be 18 to take a guest in. I asked for a copy of the rules and under Guests it does not state anything about under 18's not being allowed guests!! The woman at the gym I spoke to then said it is because my daughter has to assume full responsibility for the other person as they haven't had an induction and being under 18 she couldn't do that. The guest had previously been a memver a few months ago, so an induction had been done. Every question I posed to the woman on duty was met with answers that wer le irrelevant or made no sense. Why can the young members still at school take a guest but someone who has left school, has a job and is paying their own way not be allowed? This is not the first issue with this gym, they really don't know what their own rules are. Start singing off the same song sheet because you just look like idiots.

Positive experience: It is old, it is worn down. But classes are good. Staff are friendly. It's a locals gym rather than a state or the art modern chain gym

Negative experience: Very rundown and the exercise halls get not cleand very often also some toilets do not get cleaned much! It'sa shame as the class instructions ar very profesional and doing a great job but they get frustrated as the equipment is not updated or broken.
