Positive experience: Nice little sports centre that our son visited to use the hydro pool. Only downside was the changing rooms are a bit run down and tatty. But all in all very nice complex

Positive experience: A little unhappy to now have to pay to swim ‍♂️ we are over 60

Fantastic experience: I've been there for 5 months now and it is an amazing gym.

Positive experience: There are no cups or containers anywhere in the building so if you forget your water, you can't get a drink unless you buy one. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to be able to easily access tap water in a sport centre.

Positive experience: The swimming pool is really good. I have a swim membership (which is excellent value), so I use the pool regularly. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the changing rooms are in desperate need of face-lift.

Fantastic experience: My daughter (age 5) has recently completed a term of stage 1 swimming lessons, her instructor was Claire. Claire was great with the young ones - very patient, encouraging and gave the children lots of praise. Claire was friendly and approachable and made the lessons fun whilst learning to swim. I’m very happy with the progress my daughter has made in these lessons. Thank you.

Negative experience: Just paid £12.95 to go swimming with my little boy and wish I hadn't. I'm not surprised he has a tummy ache now - the gym and classes might be good, but the pool is gross, changing rooms are filthy, the teaching pool floor is rough and jagged, hardly any lockers are in working order and when you do manage to win the locker lottery and get one that locks, the key wristband is so worn and broken it won't stay on your wrist. It was supposed to be a casual swim - bearing in mind it's the school holidays, but it was a lane swim and we clearly weren't welcome in the big (but small) pool. I went to see what the pool is like because I wanted to sign my son up for swimming lessons. I'm glad i checked it out first. Worst Medway pool I've experienced. Such a shame.

Positive experience: Staff are great and operate with what they have. I know money is tight and some equipment requires maintenance and repair. Hopefully with fees rising some money can be put aside to replace/repair some of the equipment. Have to mention the fantastic classes, these are very enjoyable.

Positive experience: Bitterly disappointed to learn that the leisure centre is now charging pensioners for swimming. This activity gets us out the house, gives us an opportunity to meet people, have some exercise and more importantly hopefully stay away from the doctor!!! The cost now for pensioners is a water bill payment per month!! This was such a great concept for pensioners but last most things in the UK, pensioners lose out or are denied because of their age or systems change to no longer accommodate us like raising the retirement age. That being said, I have no problem with the staff but the changing rooms need an upgrade.

Negative experience: Visited these pools today for the first time. Pros: Reception staff friendly and efficient. Pools basic 25m pool and teaching pool, both at suitable temperature. Lockers are £1 coin (refundable) and parking is free. Cons: It's filthy. There's a dirty stained area of tile poolside which looks like a puddle of something unpleasant and the changing rooms are clearly not subject to regular cleaning. Changing room floors were universally dirty, tiles mouldy, drains clogged. If Medway truly wants to get residents active, I would suggest that neither the experience or the cost (£7.15/adult) is particularly appealing. Shame really. Lovely little facility, let down by indefensible maintenance standards.

Fantastic experience: Staff here are just fantastic . Classes (I go to Hollie and Megan) are amazing, receptionists so helpful and swimming teachers so patient. I drive from Rainham to go here as it's the best around.

Fantastic experience: The interesting thing for me is that each football pitch was named after legends.

Positive experience: I go here to swim every friday and saturday for black lion and I can say that for the past half a year i am pleased with my experience. Obviously I have some drawbacks towards the toilets in particular. There are urinals that are quite revealing if you guys know what i mean and I feel like I always have to use the actual toilets with the door and locks. But even then they are full of flies and mosquitos and there is only one normal one and one with accessibility access which I refrain from using in case someone with those needs needs to use it. But overall its been a good place to swim.

Positive experience: The staff are great friendly and very helpful to pointing me to being able have my child swim for free. Which I didn't know abiut.only issue if I had one would be... They could do more time slots for family or casual swim

Positive experience: Very friendly staff but the place is ageing, council run so good value memberships and activities. All free parking and the top small car park is best, bottom one is much larger but not the nicest place. Football pitches are good and the sports hall gets used for multiple activities, we use for badminton. Decent simple pool.

Fantastic experience: Nice sport centre with lots of different options for activities. The swimming pool is decent and big. The gym is a nice size, not massive but not too small.

Positive experience: Well run council gym. We've been to the hydrotherapy and training pool for swimming lessons for my 3 year old. Good instructors and a decent plan of progression. The facilities are a little shabby, little dated and not all too appealing, but they are adequate to change.

Positive experience: Prices are OK. But the whole building is very outdated and in need of a refurb. The general lay out is confusing.

Negative experience: The staff are friendly and gym has a good range of equipment. But the changing facilities for the swimming pool needs some real improvement! Very dirty and needs updating.

Fantastic experience: Good vibe. Swimming pool a bit on the small and shallow side but usually warm enough. Besides, 25 metre length is 25 metres.

Positive experience: Son Goes Football training outside Oct-March. Pain to get to with all traffic, but a lovely centre.

Negative experience: Frontend staff are good but management of the place doesn’t make any sense I.e. they close the sauna and steam room due to kids using the pool when the sauna and steam room has two entrances one from pool side and one from Gym side (which they don’t let anyone use), I only joined to use the sauna and steam room and i only get time free in the late mornings when they close the sauna steam room for kids. Paid £40 per month for 4 months and probably used it 12 -15 times.

Negative experience: The staff is nice and friendly but the pool is disgusting. The water is not even properly see through. There are papers and things on the floor near the pools and the changing rooms are vile. Such a shame as the pools are fine otherwise. We had to stop going there. It was too bad.

Negative experience: Compared to medway sports gym in Gillingham you would think it was 2 seperate companies. The strood gym needs to raise its standards in line with its sister gym at medway sports Gillingham. The shower rooms in the men's needs closing down for a refurbishment ASAP.

Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly place! Recently joined, just go swimming, pool is older type an bit dated! Changing rooms are mixed, wish they were separated though! Showers are old, it needs modernising really to bring it up to date as lots use it!

Negative experience: Second time I have been swimming expecting the inflatable assault course to be up after checking the website. I even rang ahead and was told it would be up today .....it isn't so I have paid for a swim session that we didn't want when I could have used the free cards at a different time .

Fantastic experience: I called the centre one evening last week & spoke to a super helpful guy called Owen, honestly could not have been more happy to help & super thorough with all the information given on classes for me & my baby! As a result I attended two classes this week & booked a course of swimming lessons for my baby!

Negative experience: Men's shower, steam room is unclean, the drain holes in steam room smells terrible steam room Wallas and ceramic bench is mouldy in corners and some broken tiles on bench. I have complained twice as I pay £39 a month for these facilities. They seem to understand but it's doesn't appear to be clean. The shower area is built right next to toilets and urinals ( for showers after a swim). The smell of urine is off putting. You have walk pass the toilets and unclean dirt urinals. Gym is quite good, many machines. There is no support from gym staff ,I see no coaches around. I only see them doing inductions. There is no one get suggestions.

Negative experience: Overpriced with extremely poor changing rooms,showers. Gym equipment good, most staff helpful and professional. Management ignore all communications

Negative experience: Gym equipment is OK but the men's showers are a disgrace! The flooring is split so the water runs under it so you get a stagnant smell which really is disgusting. We've complained to the staff but nothing gets done.

Positive experience: Great introduction to Yoga, will be back.

Positive experience: I returned to Strood Sports Centre after a break of just over 2 years, due to moving my residence. The sports centre is still well run with a wide selection of exercise equipment. I enjoyed my visit but I will be back in the gym at Medway Park tomorrow.

Positive experience: Free carpark. Can be busy . Clean & tidy sports centre. Maintenance schedule soon end of February.

Positive experience: Good facilities and staff on the front desk could have been a little more customer service focused; sometimes, they could attend to customer a little quicker, and a bit more inviting

Negative experience: Go online and they advertise as casual swimming , tried to call before we went just to confirm no answer and just machine saying request call . Get there to be told lane swimming only in main pool and can only use baby pool for under five's.

Positive experience: Good 5 aside facilities but soon as it hits 9pm regardless of whether you're running down the wing like Salah or just getting a cheeky drink from behind the goal they turn the lights off without warning into pitch darkness. Surely this is a health and safety concern, what's the harm in giving a 5 minute warning prior to suddenly turning the lights off!!

Fantastic experience: It is good place where you can enjoy swimming, great place where to take your kids, I like the gym there. 30 pounds for gym and swimming pool/ month. But swimming with children, ehm, 15 pounds for two kids and one adult it's for me quite a lot...

Negative experience: Badminton courts are rediculously expensive - £6.50 a person for an hour??? Meaning that if 4 people play on one court it's £26??? Prices never used to be this high till after Covid.. Medway has a high obesity rate, I wonder why?

Negative experience: Was not on the website that the pool was closed.

Positive experience: Pretty basic, has a pool, gym, sports hall, squash court, classes, outdoor sports especially football. Does have a cafe, but not that cheep, and only does snacks. It's clean enough. Also has a hydrotherapy pool.

Fantastic experience: I have used this sports centre for many years now and have had many a happy hour doing classes and playing badminton. It's unlikely I will stop using it until I'm old and grey.

Fantastic experience: Came here after finding out when the casual swim slot was and was welcomed in after a small fee of 7.50 which is much cheaper than larkfield who tried to charge me 10.50. The pool water is nice, friendly staff member at the reception helped me find out what memberships there are. 30 pounds to swim multiple times a month sounds good to me.

Positive experience: Decent facilities, but they told us the price had increased when we arrived so on top of the court prices the entry price is now £6.50 each. I've never used a sport centre before where the entry has been more than £2. Even the staff were very apologetic and couldn't understand the sudden increase in price. Nice people working there, but poorly run.
