Positive experience: Good facilities but expensive and opaque pricing that isn't publicly available. Acton Park is in their "Platinum" category and DL claim their prices are fixed for new members which is over £2,200 per year for an individual in 2025. If you're a couple it costs just under double (you save £100-150). Hope this helps people looking for what the price point is. The club and facilities are good, tennis facilities seem OK but the organisation is sorely lacking (other DL clubs have box leagues etc. and Acton doesn't), value for money isn't fantastic but they seem to be the best in the area.

Fantastic experience: Excellent David Lloyd Club. My partner and I had a smooth transition from Sudbury Hill (which clearly needs some TLC). After discussing with Adrianna that we would like to transfer clubs she very kindly allowed us to visit the club before making our decision. After stepping foot into the gym we decided that we were going to make the transfer. Can’t recommend the club enough, exceptional staff, gym, and facilities.

Negative experience: I am a member and I have to say that the gym is dirty, steam room basically doesn’t work, spa area is not the most pleasant and I am afraid but the customer service is not exactly what people expect from a such expensive club. Staff often lacks from basic customer service skills and good manners. Fortunately I am platinum member and I have access to different clubs. I go to Acton only for a quick workout when I am not able to drive anywhere else. My suggestion to the head office is to monitor staff behaviour especially in the restaurant area and hire more cleaners!

Negative experience: Avoid David Lloyd Acton at all costs. We cancelled our membership during the trial period, yet they still charged us three times the membership fee. Despite repeated follow-ups, two months have passed, and they still haven’t processed the cancellation. A look at Google reviews shows we’re not alone—many others have faced similar issues. This appears to be a deliberate scam. We are now pursuing legal action through small claims court and planning to involve the media to expose the issue - this gym is negligent at best and at worst exploitative. Save yourself the frustration and financial loss—beware!

Fantastic experience: Don’t use classes, but Gym is generally never massively busy - and spa and pool area is nice, and not overly crowded. 2 saunas helps.

Negative experience: I visited this spa expecting a relaxing experience, but it was far from it. The water in the spa was extremely dirty, which was very disappointing and unhygienic. The overall cleanliness of the place left a lot to be desired. For the price they charge, I expected much higher standards. Definitely not worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

Fantastic experience: I've been absolutely loving my experience at this gym! The modern design and atmosphere make working out a pleasure. The lighting is perfectly balanced—not too bright, creating a calm and inviting space. The equipment is state-of-the-art, and the cleanliness of the entire facility is impressive. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, with the receptionists always greeting you with a smile. I joined with my partner, and Adrianna was especially helpful throughout the process. She was very accommodating and has amazing sales skills, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, this gym exceeds expectations in every way—highly recommended!

Negative experience: Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Membership Pause Request Dear David Lloyd Team, I have been a satisfied member of your club until recently, when health issues made it impossible for me to use the facilities. Two months ago, I submitted a request through the app to pause my membership for four months due to medical reasons. Since then, I have sent multiple follow-up messages and even called the club, where a lady assured me she would get back to me. Unfortunately, I have received no response, and my request remains unacknowledged. Despite my inability to use the facilities for October, November, and the upcoming months of December and January, you have continued to charge me the full membership fee. This lack of action and communication is extremely disappointing and shows a disregard for your members’ circumstances. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter and pursue legal action. I expect my request to be addressed immediately, with a refund for the months I have been unable to use the club due to your inaction. Fantastic experience: This is a very nice modern club with excellent facilities. I like the newly introduced state-of-the-art cardio equipment which can charge my phone wirelessly during my workout and has more features available.

Negative experience: When reviewing these types of memberships it’s important to experience it for months to give a true reflection of services rather than give it 5 star reviews based on a visit or a few which is misleading. I decided not to renew my yearly David Lloyd membership for the reasons below. While no gym is perfect, David Lloyd falls short of the "premier" standard it markets. Although the number of facilities may seem to justify the higher price, quantity does not equal quality. Doing less, but doing it well, would be far better than offering more poorly or mediocrely. While the general staff at David Lloyd Acton are mostly friendly, the management does not uphold the premier standards it promises. With membership prices rising annually, I refused to commit to another 12-month contract for services that fall below expectations. Issues & recommendations for improvement at DL Acton: 1. Slow Customer Service: Apart from live chat, it takes weeks to get a response from customer service via the app email or email. When calling to speak with customer service or asking to speaking in person, I was told to use the app as they work from home. This is far too slow & needs improvement. 2. Fewer Mat Pilates Classes: Pilates teachers are fantastic but since introducing Reformer Pilates (at £10 per session), there are fewer Mat Pilates classes & they’re scheduled at inconvenient times. Competitor gyms include Reformer Pilates within their membership costs. 3. Issues w/ Paid Classes Cancelled by DL: When paid classes are cancelled just 10 minutes before they start, members should be able to rebooked onto the next available class without having to pay again. Being told to pay again and waiting 10 days for a refund for the cancelled class is unacceptable. 4. Spa No Longer Relaxing, Men Speaking on Phones: Especially during the evenings and weekends due to mostly male members talking on their phones, often on loudspeaker. After months of complaining to staff & even getting into a heated argument with a member about this, the way management (Lorenzo) handled the issue was poor, hence why the problem has persisted for so long. 5. Cleanliness in Spa Areas: Members leaving rubbish, like empty bottles and food wrappers, in the indoor & outdoor spa areas. Cleaning needs to be more proactive. Seeing mice near the outdoor jacuzzi during the summer is not relaxing. 6. Adult/Work Lounge Cleanliness: I often had to clean tables myself before using them, which shouldn’t be members responsibility. 7. Dirty Sofas and Chairs: Needs a proper deep clean. I’ve noticed amounts of dust, food, hair, and other things when getting items that fell between the cushions.Why does it look like it has not been cleaned for months. 8. Overpriced Food in the Café: Prices have gone up, but the quality hasn’t improved. Charging Gourmet Burger prices but being less tasty than Burger King is not unacceptable. 9. Parking Fines: While it’s great to have a car park, the parking agency managing fining members (PCNs) for minor issues, like parking slightly over a line. This is unreasonable. Considering there aren't lines in most of the car park. What is the purpose of this agency apart from making money. The remaining issues relates to DL in general: 10. Too Many Changes During the Contract: New members aren’t clearly informed this could happen before signing up. For example, DL Fulham recently stopped allowing Platinum members from other clubs to access their facilities unless they upgrade to the highest-priced Diamond membership tier or it’s their home club. This is frustrating to members. 11.Phone Stolen: At DL Kensington, my phone was stolen but "phone case was handed in." This reflects poorly on security & member experience esp. as the Police said that DL has high thief. 12. Unnecessary Membership Tiers: Introducing a newer, higher-priced tier, "Diamond Plus," to some clubs feels excessive, esp when existing services and facilities don’t meet the high standards expected from a "premium gym”

Negative experience: I had visited this club after being directly informed by both membership services and by the clubs reception team that I had access. Upon arriving I was denied access and offered no help by the staff. Even after stating the conversation I had with the receptionist on Saturday, I was simply told that I should have got a name and that I would need to leave without them even looking into this. Extremely poor customer service and terrible membership misinformation provided. This is not what people should pay such large amount of money for

Negative experience: Some of the facilities are very good but the overall experience is very disappointing given the huge cost of membership. With a few exceptions, reception and catering staff are rude and unfriendly. The restaurant is often dirty and understaffed and service is slow. On more than one occasion there were older boys in the female changing room. Groups of men dominate the pool and spa at times. On more than one occasion they were filming videos in there with no regard to this being explicitly against the rules. People take more than one towel, leave it lying around, club runs out of towels. People park on the double yellow lines, making access difficult. No action is taken. Cars are broken in to in the car park. On one occasion a man’s bag was stolen from his locker so he lost all his clothes and his car was stolen too. Some of the children in the club are badly behaved, ignored by their carers. No action is taken. Such a shame that the club has gone downhill so much and is so poorly run. We were members for about 12 years (since it was the Park Club) but have now left and wouldn’t recommend it any more.

Fantastic experience: I have recently started at the David's Lloyd gym and have so far really enjoyed the facilities on offer. Fantastic experience: I recently joined David Lloyd Acton Park after finding the standard gyms didn't offer the variety of classes I enjoy. Before joining I took a tour of the facilities with an incredibly knowledgeable team member Hannah. She was great at explaining what facilities were available here and the different memberships on offer. Even after joining, Hannah was only an email away to answer any questions. I've since visited the gym around 4 times a week for various classes, PT sessions and the E-Gym. Another shout out to PT Alice who has shown me the ropes on the 'big' machines and helped to build my confidence on the gym floor. I'm looking forward to more classes and social events in the future!

Negative experience: Terrible! Avoid! I have never seen such a terrible club in my lifetime. I had happened to sign mistakenly a contract on the 29th September by getting assurances that in fact I would be able to cancel it by giving 1 month of notice, however it turned out to be that the contract I signed contrary what they assured to me wasn't that flexible and I need to use their service for about 3 months even if I don't like it. The classes I wanted to attend was always full and one particular other class wasn't according to my expectations and I didn't like it. Therefore I went to the club only once and gave a notice 3 weeks later on the 19th of October. Almost I never used the club at all and they are taking unfair advantage to force and use the club which I didn't see anywhere and should be violating Comsumer Rights Act 2015. They are acting as if they are merchants and even merchants should be complying with Consumer Rights Act 2015. The escalations are also hard in this club, as nobody is understanding and caring about you, nobody called me to ask me why I am leaving, what are the quality aspects,etc,,. At the end the verdict of the Regional manager was against me as well. It is as if you are one against the whole of the club and staff members and you happened to sign a contract mistakenly they are there to take full unfair advantage of the situation. The proper clubs such as Virginactive they are all offering proper flexible contracts having 1 month notices. I would avoid this club.

Fantastic experience: Hannah showed me around at Acton David Loyds and I instantly felt that this is the gym Ive been looking for. Hanna explained everything in detail and helped me decide which package to go for with her friendly and professional manner. The great facilities at this club made me realise this is all I really need and better. The first free PT session was with Charlie and that was thorough and extremely helpful as well. I truly think it’s worth the money.

Fantastic experience: Just wow haha it's like a land of its own! It basically has everything, ever. Totally worth the money. You pay for the quality. Went with my sister who convinced me of greatness. Can't wait to try out all the facilities. Also have child friendly activities. It really is a village of wellness and fitness. Negative experience: Appalling david lloyd defo not a tier 1 no spa retreat small gym dirty and smelly changing rooms with staff who prefers to have conversations instead of helping members get into the club will certainly not go again

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!! Absolutely horrible club. I have cancelled the membership within a few days of starting it and 2 months later and they have still not refunded me. They even charged me for another month!! Have tried to contact them so many times. I will do a Formal Complaint as this is un acceptable

Negative experience: I am member here for the last 4 years with my family paying almost £3000 per year I froze my membership this summer for one month and we should be back on the first of October. today one of my friends invited us to the cub as guests, just a day before my membership become unfrozen when we asked for towels to use the pool the rude manager Lesley she refused to let us use the swimming pool she said you are not allowed to use it and if so you need to pay £20!! How rude and nasty is that !!!!! no loyalty to costumer no wonder why people leave them and head to MOD club next door as they have better customer service and not rude like here….!! I really felt how mean and greedy they are after 4 years paying almost £13k they telling me today I am now allowed to use the pool or pay £20!! Can you imagine !! Very rude and nasty behaviour towards customers I appreciate the rules like this, but I am sure there is compromise and loyalty to loyal customers or one off? Or exceptions !! but here none of these.!!! They don’t care about customers and this why i thought to share this review with you before making a decision and come here…!!! I shall share these experiences with all my friends and family so they can share their thoughts here… So may reviews about Lesley the manager which indicate she has bad attitude towards clients!! Management must take Action now!! I encourage more reviews here pls guys whichever you think of my situation or share your experience also do like all these one / two stars reviews !! so google will de rank the club and make it available to everyone knew which to club to join !! I feel shocked after 4 years of being a loyal customer to be be treated like a rubbish here….!! Finally Lesley asked me to leave if I am not happy with her decision!! How rude is that. !!! I feel disappointed after 4 years being a member with almost £500 per month paid to them and now they treat me like noting!! Avoid !!

Negative experience: Poor management from the person in charge ( Samantha I believe) I expected more from a gym that cost extremely high than the average gym membership for poor equipment and cleanliness. Car park has a lot of incidents where people are destroying cars, smashing windows a stealing property and no accountability from the gym management, as long as they have your membership money they don’t care . Would stay away at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Just had my tour in the club with Amy from New Membership Team. Amy is amazing, very easy to chat with and answered all the question, wasn't pushy, I had very good first expression of the club because of her. I actually asked her to send me the link so I can leave a good review abd support those who do thier job humanly and professional. Tbh I wasn't 100% committed but because of Amy I signed in stay away. The club premises are amazing, the swimming pool outside and the jacuzzi are just wow. Can't wait to get started)

Negative experience: Disappointing experience. Been with the gym for 6 months only to find my car window smashed with 3 other cars. When reporting it to the team I then found out this has happened 4 times in the past year with David Lloyd not doing anything to stop it. No cameras in the car park so would avoid at all cost if your thinking to drive in

Fantastic experience: Thank you, Edwin, for the excellent sports massage. His skill in addressing my tightness before a big race has been invaluable. Over the years, I’ve struggled with shoulder and calf tightness, Edwin utilised various massage techniques, including cupping and pressure point triggers, which worked wonders. Edwin’s expertise extends beyond sports massage; as an athlete and runner, he knows exactly what to look for and how to solve problems. He has truly helped me become a better athlete, and I’ll continue to see him throughout my fitness journey.

Fantastic experience: Just joined (a few weeks) and met a really great team member called Hannah who gave me a tour and told me all the pros and cons of each membership. She was really encouraging but not forceful to secure a membership. I’m on my fitness journey after two babies and feel like it’s a good place for me to do that.

Fantastic experience: Have had a wonderful experience so far. We visited the club and met with Adrianna. She was kind, professional, spent lots of time with us, and was not too “pushy” at all. Allowing me to make a decision without feeling pressured in any way. As part of joining the club you get a number of introductory sessions with a PT, and on Adrianna’s recommendation, I had my first session today with Charlie. Once again I could not recommend enough, he’s approachable, professional and very knowledgeable. The facilities in the club are great, and overall I couldn’t be more happy with my choice and experience so far.

I'm get block on car park by your costumer , I'm lost one job becouse I'm have to stand and wait more than are hour for you to fund that costumer , you send person to make pictures of my car when I'm was blocked for me to get are parking ticket ... cheeky,,, than your costumer smoke weed in my face just outside if the main door you ignore that ,,, your costumer abuse and again you ignore that ,,, and after that stalking and cheat you ban me on 5th just next day im pay 210.- and refund nothing ,,, cheat .. 5 days cost me 210 plus stress of dishonest. And now what do im see ? Rabish outside of the entrance ... how many costumers or stuff you need to upset more to understand what wrong you doing ? Feel sorry for person as you

Negative experience: Disappointed to have to echo previous reviews saying that you ignore people's requests to cancel their membership during the grace period. Please respond to ref 1642980 as soon as possible. This wasn't a cheap trial. Update: I didn't get any response via email but I was able to cancel my membership via phone. Turns out I was scammed by Hannah, the consultant who signed me up. I was rushed to use a training session within my grace period which resulted in a £80 charge. I wasn't made aware of this at all despite asking. I'm glad I was able to cancel though before the gym was moved into a crammed basement for a whole month. I feel for the members that are still paying £300 in these conditions!

Positive experience: Before starting my sessions with Charlie, I always felt insecure and intimate in the gym floor, I was afraid of getting hurt and not doing the exercises compatible with my goals. Since our first session, Charlie has always focused on explaining the equipment to me, demonstrating how to do the exercises safely and effectively, respecting my limits, but always encouraging me to progress and challenge myself. After three months together, I already feel comfortable performing the exercises, comfortable enough to venture into the gym alone and most importantly, without any injuries. Charlie is super communicative and patient, without a doubt one of the most patient and kind PT I’ve ever had, he always makes our sessions effective and enjoyable, certainly our sessions have been a game changer in my relationship with the gym and a crucial part of constancy that I have maintained, in addition to bringing me closer to my goals.

Fantastic experience: I met Hannah, who give me a tour of the club. She made feel very welcomed and she was brilliant in showing me around and point out the best of the club and what would interest me more. Also, she was exceptional in helping me choose the right type of membership according to my fitness goals and budget. I was impressed by the positive vibes, fast and clear answers to all my questions, cleanliness of the club, well equipped gym and specially spa area with outdoor / indoor swimming pool/ jacuzzi and sauna/wet room. Can’t wait to grab a bite and a healthy smoothie in the restaurant after a good workout followed by a couple of hours of computer work in the quiet study lounge area with views over the tennis field. Couldn’t recommend Hannah more for her professionalism, guidance and help.

Negative experience: Awareness: David Lloyd's "free trial" is a LIE! Canceling? Forget it! When I realized this "trial" was more like a financial ambush, I tried to cancel within the timeframe. But did they honor their "guaranteed refund"? Nada. My membership fee vanished faster than a magician's rabbit, and automatic charges kept leeching onto my credit card like hungry vampires. Communication blackout: My attempts to contact them? Ghosted. Emails? Disappeared into the void. Phone calls? Met with empty promises and excuses. But I'm not alone! A quick Google search reveals a chorus of victims sharing similar experiences. Don't become another number on their "scam scoreboard". Spread the word! Share this review (and others) and warn your friends and family. Let's shut down this "trial" by fire – a fire of awareness! P.S. Negative experience: The gym is great, but if you like swimming I would not recommend this gym, before the outdoor, swimming pool was for adults only. However now they have divided it for adults and half for families which means there is only two lanes (10 foot in width) for adults to swim in which means your squashed like sardines and constantly crashing into people. Also this means the lanes are being used by fast, medium and slow swimmers in two which is not practical at all and causing problems with people overtaking some fast swimmers having to do half laps to avoid being stock behind slower swimmers. Was a really stressful experience. With the amount of money they charge and the amount of customers they have they should really think about reverting back to adults only outside and a separate outdoor pool for families. As its starting to feel like a chaotic public pool or a all inclusive holiday. Also I had a freebie thrown at me from children who were playing on that side of the pool when i was swimming.

Fantastic experience: Recently joined David Lloyd Acton Park and attended a few sessions. Adrianna from the sales team took great care of us arranging everything and showing us around. Charlie called to arrange my 3 free personal training sessions. The swimming pool was heated and clean. The showers and locker rooms were spot on. There's all activities that you can possibly think of! Glad we have joined

Fantastic experience: Came to David Lloyds Acton for a tour of the club and enquired about signing up with the Gym, facilities were good. I spoke to a guy named Antony who works at the Gym, he was very helpful showing me around and getting me set up with my membership. Definitely recommend signing up.

Positive experience: Great place for fitness classes, gym, paddle and tennis. They love tennis here. It’s a good little David Lloyd visited by many at peak times. The pools are also brilliant. The facilities are well looked after and as good as expected for the group.

Negative experience: There is only one opportunity to make a first impression and that’s it… it was really bad. I’ve not felt welcome at all by the front desk. My wife came to the gym with a 3 month old baby to try the facility and was told the introduction offer did not apply to our baby (despite the crèche facility!), literally just waisted my time showing up. After insisting, sales rep was better and sorted out this issue. I wouldn’t have wrote this review if that was it but when I came back 2nd time I’ve got similar challenge with the front desk and I gave up. I’ve raised a complain 5 days ago (case ref 1282324) but haven’t heard back.

Fantastic experience: Firstly I have run out of words to describe this club, I signed up a few months ago now and I continue to fall in love with this place, from the lovely people at reception to the lovely ladies in the food and beverages section, (Clara and Sumaira) who continue to make my day each and every time I attend the club. The sign up process was very efficient, Hannah was really knowledgeable and advised me into a deal that suited me the most, I loved her so much I have managed to convince my cousins to sign up too, her patience, charisma and charm sold me into signing up, and it is a pleasure coming into the club and seeing the lovely ladies who provide an environment like no-other. Despite the price, I couldn't be happier with my membership, with DL Acton providing a high service luxury lifestyle you are promised when signing up.

Negative experience: Awful awful awful I wouldn’t recommend joining the Acton club, if you really want to join David Lloyd. Join another club. The staff here are really bad and useless and don’t bother with their customers. The customer service agent Hannah Jones is a liar and she will make your membership without giving you vital information. She joined me and my husband and my 2 children on a diamond membership and told us we had a 4 week thinking period and when we wanted to cancel our membership at the end of the 3 week mark. She would avoid answering calls, she wouldn’t speak to me on the phone and she started avoiding my emails and she would put obstacles so I couldn’t reach the manager and I felt like she was deleting my emails as the staff have direct access to the email address. The manager is very invisible in this club. You can’t hear of him and he is also never available in the club if you ever want to speak to the manager. Forget about it. Hannah had told us we can also cancel the membership and we will get a full refund but we didn’t. You get charged for the days you used the gym. She had also mentioned you can freeze your membership but she forgot to mention the small discrepancy charge of 25% off your membership will still be charged monthly. It’s all a scam. They are so untuned to making commission off making memberships they don’t really care here at Acton. If there were 0 star rating I would have pressed on that option. Horrible staff and now I’m actually stuck with this gym and I will continue to spread a bad word of mouth for this specific staff the manager who never gets back in touch and this club in all till I am here.

Fantastic experience: This is a great health club. Great gym facilities. Lovely Paul and spa. Café is good too and great for families. We have been happy members for three years and don’t intend on stopping.

Negative experience: We had high hopes for DL Acton Park and they were the only family-oriented gym/club in the area when we signed up 18 months ago. Unfortunately at £400/month for a family membership (2 adults + a 3 year old) the gym doesn't offer good value for money. The gym is small and full of dates/worn equipment. The decor in the restaurant is dated and the food is very average and not well priced. It has the feel of somewhere that is poorly managed - staff make minimal effort, facilities are often dirty and poorly maintained. We also witnessed a violent confrontation between a member of staff (lifeguard) and a member during family swim time. It cleared the pool and frightened my wife who was pregnant at the time. When we asked management about it a few days later, their tone was dismissive. All in all, we're very happy to be leaving for Mode club down the road - better facilities and 40% cheaper.

Positive experience: Little hidden gem for the elite. Hate the changing rooms too open and if you are a visitor like I was you don't want to pay £6 fora padlock for a few hours. Like the outdoor jacuzzi, pool and steam n sauna rooms. Food good also although had to send it back, poached eggs should not be hard. Would go again as a guest.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoying my time here at the club. There is a real sense of community and belonging here. Antony from the sales team was very welcoming and made the joining process simple and painless.
