Fantastic experience: We stayed on Saturday evening, had 2 lovely rooms, well equipped and clean. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely, all the team were attentive without being over the top. The restaurant was busy, which was nice to see. We had a good look around the hotel for events and great outdoor space! Michelle the Head Housekeeper was lovely, would definitely visit again, thank you!

Negative experience: Really disappointed. To be clear. We only came for a spa day for my partner. At a price of £150 I would at least expect somewhere to sit or lie down in the pool area. Im not sure how you can advertise it as a spa day without that. We were greeted by a loud aqua class which made the spa area not really an option at all. Decided to try and wait a bit with a coffee in the hotel bar. Couldn't even get that because the coffee machine was broken. With 4hrs to kill before any treatments we decided to just sadly call it a day. I think its a stretch to call this a spa day package. Really its just a hotel with a pool that has the ability to offer some massages. In all honesty the hotel itself looked lovely but that is not what we were here for. We came for a relaxing experience and left frustrated and a bit stressed.

Negative experience: Turned up for a very much needed spa break. Had booked directly through the hotel so thought everything would be sorted. Hadn’t heard about booking the spa and so rang the hotel week before to do so, had this booked on the phone - or so we thought. Turned up on the day after arranging child care for the night and the spa had no record of our booking. You’d think with booking a ‘spa break’ that the treatments would be easy to sort with the stay. The first person wasn’t helpful at all and read us all of the booking after we’d told him our name - incase we’d got our names wrong. Then the manager of the spa gas-lit us by suggesting that if we’d booked through spa breaks and asked us several time who we thought we’d called because the hotel wouldn’t be able to book it. Such a horrid experience that we asked for a refund and came home. The lady on the desk of the hotel was the only saving grace, as she sorted out a refund quickly but the whole experience was horrid.

Fantastic experience: The staff in the spa are nothing but lovely. So welcoming and knowledgeable. I treated my mum and I to treatments and lunch. They upgraded my treatment for free and put us in a room together which was unexpected and so appreciated! My mums therapist was so lovely, as we entered the room she gave her a hug as my mum has been diagnosed with cancer and found filling out the medical form a little emotional. My treatment from Stephanie was fantastic. I am a trained therapist myself and normally don’t have anything good to say about the services in spas but my massage and facial exceeded my expectations! Defiantly a hidden gem! Defiantly coming back! 5* service.

Fantastic experience: Recently visited and me and my sister had the most relaxing deep tissue massage by Gemma and Whitney. I had a separate foot massage and my sister and a facial and head massage. Highly recommended. The light lunch with Prosecco and the other spa facilities topped off the day perfectly

Positive experience: I was gifted a Signature Massage Package & enjoyed an excellent massage from Ellie. A small lunch was included, the dining room was almost empty- but was difficult to relax & enjoy it- because a senior member of Staff was conducting interviews at another table! I felt so sorry for each of the 2 applicants whose entire interviews were clearly audible to me! Very unprofessional, lack of confidentiality- surely a private space could have been found somewhere within the Hotel Complex…..?? I doubt I will return, the lack of respect shown to those young ladies made me feel uncomfortable………… However to end on a more positive note, I left my gold chain in the robe pocket & didn’t miss it until the next morning- I rang up & it had been found & left at Leisure Reception for me. I’m SO grateful to whoever found it & was honest & handed it in- very grateful, A big THANK YOU, to U & I hope u may read this

Negative experience: Awful, avoid!!!!!!! Went here for a friends birthday, for a spa package. Worst experience, the pool area and changing rooms were disgusting and dirty. The treatments were average and not worth the money, especially when your treatments half done. The afternoon tea, even worse..I’ve had better meal deals from Tesco. There’s hardly any staff and the staff they do have aren’t helpful at all and some what rude. We wanted a full refund, especially now I’m having to pay for a better birthday present. But they seem to think £20 will cut it..I don’t think so.

Negative experience: Avoid!!!! Booked a relaxing day here. Only to find out it's more like a leisure centre. Pool full of mother and toddlers group. Also lunch is served in the main restaurant while your in your robes. Manager is next to useless in.sorting a refund out. Still waiting weeks after booking

Positive experience: I had a spa voucher to use here so brought my husband. We both opted for a deep tissue back massage and it was great! I would definitely have another massage here. The actual spa facilities are a little tired particularly in the pool area which was a shame. They’d tried to refresh the area by painting some of the panels grey surrounded in the pool which was all peeling off, the spa pool (jacuzzi) was on a timer so only came on every 20 mins for 5 mins so you had to wait around for it to work. There was also only 2 lounge chairs by the pool so couldn’t sit and relax. Everyone was struggling with the lockers in the changing rooms which didn’t seem to work properly. I ordered a grilled halloumi wrap in the bar area and was given feta cheese instead of halloumi. Definitely a great place for a massage, but could do with some improvements in general!

Positive experience: A little tired in places but super comfy king size bed. 15 minute drive from Cheltenham town centre. Sound travels through the door as other people have mentioned but we didn't notice anything between walls/ceiling. From what I saw, paying extra for a view isn't worth it.

Fantastic experience: I have been to the spa here on multiple occasions when I visit Cheltenham, I always get a back massage and the Elemis resurfacing facial- usually my therapist is Natalie and I can honestly say she is the best beauty therapist I’ve ever had ! Very personable, nice and does the treatments wonderfully! Couldn’t recommend the reflections spa and Natalie enough!

Fantastic experience: I was gifted a spa experience here for my birthday. We were greeted and checked in by a lovely girl and then shown round all the facilities and offered a lovely fresh mint and cucumber water and to use their relaxation room after our treatments. We went as a pair and they had us both in the same treatment room and it was just lovely - Ambient, Cosey and relaxing and both Therapists were lovely. I had the Frangipani foot treatment and I couldn't recommend it enough!

Positive experience: Following on from my review of the Marriott Chase hotel where we stayed, the spa experience is part of the hotel complex. This again was a mixed bag. First the good bits... We had asked for a back and face massage, both Becky and Natalie who gave the treatments at the end of a long day were outstanding. My wife has been a masseur for several years, so knows a good massage when she gets one. I cannot make any meaningful comments because being married to someone who gives massage means you never get one. After massaging all day, coming home and being asked for a neck or back rub is often greeted with expletives! But for a completely amateur viewpoint, it felt really good, and while my wife was chatting with the girls about oils and hot mittens (?) I just lay there on the hot bed and enjoyed the massage. Now the less than great bits... The place was in need of a refresh, it was starting to look a bit run down and tatty. The small pool was heavily chlorinated, and in a small space was a bit tough on the eyes. The sauna and OK, we didn't try the steam room. The hot tub took a while and a few questions to discover the unmarked button to turn it on. The gym was empty when we went in, but was getting busier as the evening wore on and people dropped in after work. The three star vote might seem a bit harsh, as we did get a five star massage, but overall, our experience of the place in totality, justified the lowish score. If this was a school report, it is definitely a case of "could do better".

Positive experience: We were part of the large group of 50+ people ( boundless) who booked our half board break. The break was for 4 nights. The hotel on the whole was of a good standard, and staff were generally very good and polite and friendly. The swimming pool and gym were both adequate and clean and I used these facilities every day. Our room was a good size with 2 chairs, kettle, iron fridge and safe. However there were a few big teething issues. Our first problem arose when we tried to book the 4 night break as other guests had done and were promptly informed they we could only stay 3 nights. We decided to book the 3 night break in any case. On arrival there had been a planned power cut, from 0800 to 1600hrs. No one informed us about this when we enquired about our booking several times before arrival. This meant we were unable to have any hot or cold drinks in the bar, and the bathroom was in the dark. As this was a planned power cut surely this should have been communicated to hotle guests prior to arrival!? The hotel reservation had been made in my friend's name so the hotel had his credit card details. I decided to Pay in full for the 3 nights. Later we were informed that we could stay the extra night as there was no reason why this wasn't offered to us We welcomed this. So I was aware that I would need to pay for the extra day. On day 3 after we had our dinner at about 2100 hrs I enquired about the meal for the following night and was informed by staff at hotel reception that they and restaurant staff were of the opinion that the whole groups ( approx 50) were leaving the following morning? And not expected for dinner the following day. We were shocked and surprised by this. After frantic enquiries with the restaurant manager this was resloved and ensured that all of the group would be fed on the last night of the break. Finally, on the day of departure I went to settle my bill to be told that the room had been paid in full and that I only had to pay for the drinks I bought. I queried this as the fee for the extra night hadn't been accounted for. I found out that this had been charged to my friends credit card by default? Really!.! I was still at the hotel so why withdrawals they charge my friends card? I was not happy about this especially as I was still paying for the drinks on my card? I informed my friend and reimbursed him. Overall our stay was good only to be let down by issues that shouldn't have arisen

Positive experience: Firstly, this was one of the nicest and reasonably priced packages I've ever had in the treatment sense. The staff were lovely and helpful. Good quality massages and facials. Beautiful therapy beds (they heat up)! Lunch was OK! Food was nice, but we didn't get a choice of pudding when some people did. We had the fruit salad, but it was tasteless and seemed like it was frozen fruit. The thing that let it down was the pool area. Very small pool, small jacuzzi, small sauna and small steam room. The steam room didn't actually work on the day but no one told us. Lack of seating as it is so small and I think a relaxation room would be perfect. One of the biggest issues was the members! They didn't want people there on spa days. There was a general bad attitude towards us, telling us that we take up their facilities and tutting. Complaining how busy it's going to get now it's the summer holidays.

Positive experience: My husband and I had a gorgeous relaxing ritual back massage from 2 therapists in the spa (1 was called Whitney, can't remember the other lady's name but she wore glasses). Nice leisure facilities, lovely accomodation and hotel on the whole, good evening meal, lots of breakfast choices. The only things I would say is that it is hard to get through on reception when trying to book, the room could have been slightly cleaner, the cooked breakfast tasted old and dry and it would have been nice to have more veggie options in Hardy's. The pillows were both very soft. Definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: Gym Member Review - The gym is small but has majority of the equipment you would need spread across two rooms. One room has various machines including treadmills, bikes, rowing machine and various upper and lower body weighted machines. The second room is focused on weights with benches, squat racks, smith machine and cable machines. Opening times for the gym are 6:30am - 9pm. The major plus of this gym is it's never to busy to workout, especially at peak times. The spa also includes access to the pool, juccuzi, steam room and sauna.

Fantastic experience: I received a hot stone massage as a birthday treat to myself. The masseause was amazing I felt so relaxed and at ease and was able to enjoy it where normally I tense up and end up more stressed coming out then going in. please pass on my feedback to her as she was truly amazing!! 5Stars! Positive experience: Booked a spa day with my sister and my gran. To get a coffee we had to leave the spa area, walk thorugh the reception of the hotel into the spa cafe area. This made some of us feel uncomfortable. My sister didn't like the one option of lunch (although had two choices for topping). My gran had to eat her lunch on her own as my sisters and mine didn't arrive in time before we had to leave the spa cafe area for a treatment. Seating around the pool is very limited and although there is an area of the pool sectioned off for children, the po area was very loud. I enjoyed the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi however the pool was too cold for my liking. Felt very much like a hotel with a pool on the side which they called a spa. Not what I would expect from a spa experience.

Negative experience: A over priced Hotel in Brockworth Gloucester.My Husband and I were staying 6 nights we might as well have booked into a lesser place near by.This is ok for a day spa and conferences but the attidude towards paying guests is sadly lacking.More training needs to be given and please ask your staff not to swear or use common language in front of their guests!!Very cold cooked to death breakfast which sat on greasy plates and tins!!The bread I imagine comes from Tesco or simular and the sandwich at £8 for a limp and processed ham and mustard is a joke.I will never recommend this Hotel to any one.I have been in Hospitality and owned a Pub/Hotel and Restaurants,so I am very aware of how we should have been treated.The staff really are not tuned in here.Shame. Positive experience: On arrival the carpark is spacious so we parked with ease. All staff were very pleasant, food was tasty. A small simple salad, nice thick soup, bread roll, followed by a small portion fresh fruit was part of our spa deal.. It was not generous portions but delicious and adequate. Massage in spa was fantastic. Changing rooms starting to look a bit tired and pool was a tad cold. On our arrival we waited at what we thought was the spa reception. A member of staff arriving, noticed we had been waiting and kindly directed us up the spiral staircase. A clear sign for new guests might be worthwhile. Overall, it was a peasant day visit.

Positive experience: I had a lovely time here. All the Spa and facilities are exactly what you would expect for the price. The grounds of the hotel give it that extra zing. So beautiful and peaceful. Oh and Whitney in the Spa has the magic touch. One of the best facials I've ever had. The pool area is a little blah but still fine and the jacuzzi was out of order for a while hence not a 5 star

Positive experience: The treatments were outstanding, i had full body massage which was excellent and express facial which left my face feeling fresh and soft. The spa experience however was spoilt by a very loud water aerobics class which ruined the relaxation time. Also we were told we could arrive at 9am but the spa does not open until 9.30, just two small things, which could have been avoided for a better experience

Negative experience: Pretty basic, not relaxing. No loungers by pool, ceiling above pool is tatty, rain coming in. Arrived 11am , hotel had booked our treatments for 4pm we didn't want to spend hours in the spa. A member of staff said we had to get dressed to go for coffee so we did, but when we reached coffee lounge others were in spa robes still? So to kill time we went to a garden center and came back later for the treatments. Wouldn't go again. Didn't feel comfortable, luxurious or relaxing.

Fantastic experience: A lovely day spa experience with a very relaxing treatment, gift, use of the facilities, lunch and beverage all included in the price. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. My only suggestion would be to inform spa guests of any classes taking place in the facilities or provide them with a timetable so they can plan their day accordingly. During a swim I was unaware that a water aerobics class was due to take place until it was pointed out that I would be "unable to swim during the class" by one of the members. It was a shame that the sectioned off swim lane area couldn't have been left available for the other guests during this time, who still wanted to make use of the pool. However, I appreciate that due to ongoing covid precautions the class members probably wanted to spread out across the whole pool. In summary it was a very lovely day spa package which I will be recommending to friends and family. Thank you!

Positive experience: This hotel is now operated by Delta Hotel and Mariott hotels. We've stayed here around 10 times before when it was a Q Hotel but this time it was awful. The Montpellier suite we stayed in needs a serious makeover, the toilet doesn't flush properly and the two TVs keep switching off /on when you use the remote control . The choice of menu and the quality of food for dinner was not at all good. The breakfast buffet was terrible, bacon you can't cut or chew, pot of beans with a skin over them and overcooked mushrooms all dried out because they had been there for hours. A toaster that only toasts one side of the bread. Really not impressed. The staff uniforms look really unprofessional and in need of a good iron. Only good things about the place are 1. Comfortable bed 2. Great leisure facilities, steam room, sauna and pool. We won't be going back there in a hurr. This hotel should only have a 2 or 3 star rating as it's no better than a Premier Inn and is therfore overpriced

Negative experience: All of the following was raised with staff prior to this review but there was no offer of resolution. Greeted on arrival by staff on two separate occasions on their personal mobile phone having personal conversations. Massage treatments were good although not what we booked. Paid extra for additional food/drink as we didn’t like everything on the spa menu. £30 for a bottle of warm Prosecco, had to return dirty cutlery and request clean items, food was sub standard - we expected a smaller option as it was for the ‘spa day’, however cold soup, old hard cheese on the Cesar salad, fruit salad served in hot bowls was just not nice. The wait time was excessive to the point where we actually had to go and return our dirty crockery and ask for our next course. As I said we raised this with the staff at reception so as to avoid a bad review, however, no resolution was offered.

Fantastic experience: Had a bit of an issue with one of their spa colleagues had to self isolate but they helped us out with allowing us to use the facilities still which was great very fancy and smart place, the staff were brilliant it was a good experience :)

Fantastic experience: I have stayed here a few times on business now. The rooms are always of a very high standard and come with nice little touches, in the bathroom you'll find shampoo, body wash and lotion, and in the bedroom a good selection of teas and coffees as well as water and biscuits that are replaced everyday. The television has built in Chromecast so easy to watch your streaming services. I did have an issue on one night here but after a complaint to management this was resolved promptly and I was very satisfied with the response and kindness from them.

Positive experience: Booked a last minute spa day at The Cheltenham Chase Hotel and what can I say...it was very worth the money. My friend and I bought the 2 people deal which included a 50 minute treatment (in which we both chose deep tissue massages), light lunch and 1 hour in the pool. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely reception lady, Alex. She was so welcoming and even with a few hiccups (via the website you cannot book a food or pool time slot) she fixed it right away and with no stress. Throughout the day Alex made us feel so welcome and that we were all ok. Our massage was with Jessie. It was extremely relaxing and after I spent an hour in the relaxation room - I have never felt more relaxed in my life. The only downfall would be the bar service. We had booked a light lunch for 12 and waited 15 minutes with no bar staff to be seen. We enquired at the main reception to be told just to wait. However, our main concern was we had another appointment at 1 to get to. Alex caught us in the bar area and fixed it right away for us, getting served almost immediately after she left. The food was very good though! We enjoyed the pool, steam room and sauna but unfortunately the hot tub was not in service - but it didn't bother us too much. A wonderful day, and wouldn't have been the same experience without Alex. We will be attending again.

Negative experience: It would be quite hard to make it more difficult to get through on the phone to make a general enquiry. However, the hotel is very conveniently located, so I called in for a snack lunch. The young lady who served me was charming and very helpful, but the sandwich was extremely disappointing. I suppose there was some tuna in my tuna sandwich - but there couldn`t have been less without infringing the trade descriptions act. They were served with simply a handful of tortilla chips as garnish. The hotel was not making much effort on recording visitors for contact tracing - no-one asked for my contact details.

Positive experience: Spa was quiet and peaceful. We had a light lunch included in our booking which tasted good. The hotel has a fitness suite which is small but reasonably equipped, however the heater was stuck on. Overall this place could be really nice with better maintenance and an all round good clean.

Negative experience: My partner and I bought a spa day here through Groupon. Upon arrival we were asked to pay £14 for the robes (non-refundable) which was steep but we didn't mind. As we entered the so called spa (small pool and seating for about 6 people), we were greeted by the screaming sounds of a parent and infant class session running in the the pool area! We could quite literally not hear ourselves think, let alone attempt to read a book or relax. There was even another class waiting to enter and the noise was ridiculous - who on earth runs infant and parent classes in the middle of a spa?! We went to complain and two ladies were already there complaining about the noise and had travelled from Hereford for their Spa day - I felt quite sorry for them. We left after being there for no longer than 30 minutes and were very disappointed, especially as we had booked the Friday off.

Negative experience: Nice spa, treatments ok. Greeted by the spa reception team very friendly and helpful particularly Miles who showed us around. My friend and I had our treatments in a dual room although not requested. Therapists were noisy In treatment with running water, getting towels from hot cabbie etc. We filled in a consultation form prior to treatment however I was not asked about my skin, any concerns I may have and no product recommendations at the end. No oil was applied to my neck let alone massaged! Towels were “chucked” over us lacking in client care. Lunch was ok although we did not receive part of our order as we were informed the chef did not read it all. Over all slightly disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Me and my dad had such a lovely stay at The Cheltenham Chase hotel. The staff were all lovely, warm and welcoming. Melanie was really helpful before our stay sending over the menu for the restaurant when I told her about my dietary requirements, and the staff in the restaurant were very helpful when we got there too. The room was very clean and well decorated and we had everything we needed. The food in the restaurant in the evening was gorgeous and very reasonably priced for the portion sizes! I'd recommend the steak and the chocolate mousse for pudding was delicious. We went for the races and it is very conveniently placed on the bus route from the centre of town which you can then easily walk to the course. Overall it was the perfect stay and can't thank the Cheltenham Chase Hotel and its staff more. :)

Positive experience: We stayed here on the 6th of March 2019. Our room no.22 was in need of a good spruce and fix. The spare toilet roll had two dark hairs on it and dust, the bathroom door had dust on the wooden struts. The unit where the tea facilities are, the wood above was coming away, and the ceiling was warped/broken too. The curtain was hanging off some hooks/runs in the middle. Other than that, the staff were extremely plesent and helpful. The breakfast had a nice selection.
