Redbourn Leisure Centre: Opinions
Positive experience: I use this gym regularly as live in the village , it's a good little place to train but went over there this morning as it stated on website that it's open from 8am to 3pm but once I got there it was all locked up , you need to sort out your opening times and stick to them as people rely on this place not only for there physical fitness but also there mental health .
Fantastic experience: Calm and welcoming environment. Helpful staff.
Positive experience: Great gym but no pool. Serves a good coffee though
Positive experience: They do a lovely coffee. Excellent little leisure centre with a great gym but no pool
Positive experience: Visit every week to do Pilates classes.
Positive experience: Took the granchildren to the halloween themed gymnastics open session on sunday 29th October.....someone had gone to a lot of effort to make sure the theme was brought to life.....excellent well done.....children and adults loved it
Positive experience: I've been a member for years and chose this site because of the value for money as all classes were included. I'd visit for Pilates, Yoga, circuit & body toning. Post covid i'd fallen off the exercise tree and needed to boost my confidence and mental health so started to use the gym, I didn’t make use of all of the equipment so decided to book some PT sessions, it's been a game changer! Paul is great to train with and I would thoroughly recommend. I feel the gym is dated, the equipment does it job but I can't help feeling I'm missing out on using more modern equipment. I guess if I visited my other local gym, Harpenden, I may get this but I'm not prepared to pay the higher prices....so....I'm getting what I pay for perhaps, although I no longer do the classes just PT. It's a shame the centre isn't open longer over the weekend. It's an intimate gym and if you're a regular it's great to see the same friendly faces. 5* for Paul and our PT sessions 3* for the centre
Fantastic experience: We attended a drop in session for gymnastics and I was very please with the amount of equipment they had for all different ages. We popped into the cafe and was served by a happy, polite employee with great customer service, I believe his name was James. Very clean and great hospitality. They had a wide range of snacks and drinks for the kids and also high chairs for the little one. Overall we were happy with our experience there
Fantastic experience: Just been to a drop in session for gymnastics with the little ones, great atmosphere and plenty of equipment for them. We popped into the cafe afterwards they had plenty choices of snacks and enough highchairs to go around spoke to a bubbly member of staff who's name was James.
Negative experience: This place is atrocious. I joined here as I recently opened an office within a mile of the centre and speaking as a personal trainer who has visited many many gyms, this is possibly the worst I've ever been to. It's dirty, the equipment is falling apart, the numbers are worn off most of the weights (very dangerous), the treadmills sound like they're about to collapse under the weight of a feather, the management of space is non-existent, everything is outdated, they don't play music, changing rooms stank of weed, archaic open showers with absolutely zero privacy (open shower room is wide open into the changing rooms so they are essentially the same room)... I could go on. The staff were friendly enough although I had to wait 5 minutes for the receptionist to finish his phone call (which sounded like he was on a disciplinary call) just to find out where the changing rooms are. I was in the gym for around an hour and didn't see a member of staff in the gym area once. This place is beyond redemption. You expect a little more from Everyone Active and their membership prices. This place would be better burned down and rebuilt. I don't think the amount of work needed, to refurbish this place, would be financially viable. I cancelled my membership in the car park after I left, it's that bad. I really hate to be so negative about a gym but people need to know. If anyone is rating this above 1 or 2 stars I would suggest they either work their or they have never been to a different facility and this is their benchmark. Even if this is your only option, I would suggest staying away and going for a run outdoors, instead.
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Negative experience: Not very friendly staff
Positive experience: Good leisure centre, pretty standard
Fantastic experience: Great customer service clean and quite
Positive experience: Good venue. Small café and waiting/viewing area upstairs while the kids attend their sessions.
Negative experience: Only visited once very rude staff who clearly have communication issues with themselves and football supporter visitors who require to use the cafe.. both entrances rear and front told not to enter by different staff.. after finally getting to the cafe..the server was on a break ...Useless!! how do you expect to make any money..
Fantastic experience: Can only rate the football pitches as my son played there on s Sunday, very well run for a busy Sunday league
Fantastic experience: Great for toddlers pre school
Positive experience: Great customer service covid safe and friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym, great pilates classes, all on a small and friendly scale
Fantastic experience: Good easily accessible venue with ample free parking. Decent facilities and good covid measures in place. I would certainly look forward to visiting again.
Fantastic experience: My kids love the SAADI play gym and classes
Negative experience: refuses to refund membership fees, very rude management. Will be taking this to the ombudsman
Positive experience: Gym is nice but way too small
Positive experience: Only ever played badminton a few times. The sports hall was a good size, staff were friendly.
Positive experience: Good football pitches
Fantastic experience: Used gymnasium to play 5 aside football, perfect for what we needed.
Positive experience: Perfecto si te gusta el fútbol.
Positive experience: Nice, but lacking equipment, in the Gym. Great outdoor area. Friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: My granddaughter does gymnastics there , and absolutely loves it, during the week we take over to the fields for his daily walk, we let him off lead and know he is safe, the grounds are beautifully kept ,it's a little piece of heaven, and a very popular place to be, for babies ,toddlers mums ,dad's and grandma,s like me, something for everyone, thankyou
Fantastic experience: Small, friendly leisure centre with great classes to choose from.
Positive experience: Gym and playing fields. Ample parking
Positive experience: My son loves it.
Positive experience: Good all round sports centre. Cricket, football, racquet sports, gym, classes for young and old. Good location too.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place for the gym.
Positive experience: Lots to offer, gym, sports hall, bowls, recreation ground where cricket club plays matches and great open space to walk the dogs!
Positive experience: A small friendly gym with good facilities. There are smarter gyms with more equipment but as a village gym, i highky reccomend it.
Fantastic experience: I used this centre for the first time because Westminster Lodge in St Albans is closed for new equipment to be installed. Redbourn is a perfect local facility, with enough machines to satisfy most users. I must say it is very clean, especially the showers and equipment. The lockers in the changing rooms are also immaculate, with none of the keys missing like they are at Westminster Lodge. To everyone at Redbourn, you're doing a great job. See you again.
Negative experience: Good gym
Positive experience: Friend staff. Good classes.
Positive experience: Great classes with enthusiastic instructors. The gym is newly refurbished and adequate for keep fit. I just go there for the yoga. £20 per month for the basic membership which is the gym and most classes, another £5 for unlimited swimming at Westminster Lodge in St Albans. I would have given 5 stars of there were a few more key pieces of gym equipment.
