Information about The Tytherington Club
Our comment from FitFit UK about The Tytherington Club:
The Tytherington Club, located in the picturesque Macclesfield, offers a fantastic blend of leisure and hospitality. Reviewers consistently praise the club for its exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, well-maintained golf course, and comfortable, clean rooms.
Some highlights mentioned by guests include:
- Excellent Amenities: The club features a lovely spa and health club with high-quality facilities, including a comfortable swimming pool and a sauna.
- Great Location: Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, it serves as a perfect getaway for both leisure travelers and golf enthusiasts.
- Positive Staff Interactions: Many guests commend the staff for being welcoming and attentive, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
- Good Condition of Golf Course: While the course presents a challenge, it is well-regarded by those who seek a rigorous golf experience.
However, there are areas for improvement:
- Some guests expressed disappointment with the breakfast experience, noting that the options were limited and not always replenished adequately.
- The food quality, particularly during dinner, received mixed reviews, with calls for a more diverse menu and better execution of dishes.
- Occasional service delays and staff training issues were highlighted, suggesting that more focus on service standards could enhance the overall guest experience.
Despite some setbacks, The Tytherington Club remains a recommended destination for those looking to enjoy a quality stay in a fantastic setting while taking advantage of their extensive facilities.

The Tytherington Club: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Fantastic stay at very reasonable prices.
Good Morning Lisa, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback about the club. I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you back again soon. Kind regards, Laura Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: My family and I are members of the club and we love it. They keep improving the venue and service every day. 10/10

On the behalf of the club and myself, We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and looking forward welcoming you to our club once again, Kind Regards, Duty Manager Jakub
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and welcoming staff in the golf shop and reception. Booked a round on a very wet day, and they were great with my 12 year old.
Good evening Simon, Thank you so much for leaving such lovely feedback which I will be sure to pass along to our golf shop and reception team, who always try and give the warmest of welcomes to our guests. Kind regards Laura Myles Duty Manager
Positive experience: We booked this hotel due to the spa facilities...we got a text message at 11am the morning of our stay (9th November) to say the spa was having maintenance works & had been from the 4th November & we couldn't use it. Had we known this we would have cancelled our booking but to tell us the day of our stay was too late as we couldn't rebook somewhere else with such short notice. We told management that we didn't want to cancel as we had made arrangements to have children/pets looked after. They gave us 4 drinks vouchers as a gesture of goodwill..... We booked a superior room.....there was nothing superior about it....no dressing table...no fridge....minimal coffee/tea options.....no decent view. We went to go & use our drinks vouchers just before 9pm....got there....the bar was closed.....we were told to go to the other bar....this was a golf clubhouse. We tried to order tia Maria coffees....the barman didn't know how to make them... Me & my partner were so disappointed, we spent a lot of money for our stay here & we both felt we would have had a better experience at one of the well known budget hotel chains!
Good Morning Lorna, I'm really sorry for the disappointment you felt during your recent stay. I appreciate the late notice in letting you know about the wet spa closure was inconvenient. I'm also sorry you felt disappointed in your room; as you will be able to see from other reviews this is an area we get consistently good feedback in from our guests. If you'd like to discuss your stay further please feel free to get in touch with me via email [email protected] and we can take it from there. Kind regards Laura Myles Deputy General Manager
Negative experience: Not good turned away my boy and is friends from the bonfire display when they had bought tickets… they were told they had to have a 16 yr old to accompany them bareing in mind 1 was 16 and others 15 and 13 nothing on there tickets to explain this as I looked I have rung them up to ask why this happened and I’m still waiting for a phone call from them
Good evening Les, We did have to turn away some large groups of teenagers on the night who did not have an adult present. This is due to us being a family event and having large groups of unaccompanied, unsupervised teenagers would be in direct conflict with this. One adult ticket needed to be presented on the gate to accompany each group of childrens tickets. Please email me on [email protected] with a day/time that's convenient for you and we can set up a call to discuss further. Kind regards, Laura Deputy General Manager
Negative experience: I don’t understand why this place has such a high rating, and the price seems unreasonable (even in central London, you can find much better hotels for the same price). The staff has no sense of hospitality: check-in is at 3 PM, we arrived around 5, yet they still asked us to wait without offering tea or coffee after our journey. In the morning, I informed them that there was no shower gel, shampoo (a 2-in-1), or conditioner in the bathroom—the bottles were empty. I was told I should have come down and asked for it myself! For over £100 per night, do I still need to go ask for basic amenities? The hotel also doesn’t provide slippers or a robe, and there was litter on the bathroom floor and bits of what looked like leaves on the bed. The carpet looks dirty. I chose this hotel for its advertised spa facilities. I called a day before to check if everything was in working order and was assured it was, yet the steam room was out of service with no prior notice. There’s a small sauna that’s almost always full, a hot tub, and a small pool. This is not a true spa experience; the sauna is only worth it if you use the gym as a member. The wet area is moldy, and the paint is peeling (it should really be tiled). On the positive side: the furniture is new, the bed is comfortable, the breakfast is a standard English breakfast, there’s parking, and the shower has good pressure and consistent temperature.
Good afternoon Ekaterina, Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback about your recent stay. I'm really glad you enjoyed some aspects of your stay such as the comfy bed and the full english breakfast. With regards to the steam room, unfortunately this was subject to an unforeseen breakdown, which resulted in the closure of the steam room at short notice. As a result, our sauna and hydropool might have been busier than usual. I will certainly speak to housekeeping in relation to the issues you experienced. As you say at the start of your review, you only have to look at previous scores and reviews to see that this would not be a reflection of our usual high housekeeping standards. By 5pm I would not be expecting anybody to be waiting to be checked in as housekeeping have finished by then so i will certainly look into this for you. With the bedroom toiletries, I believe our reception team member was probably informing you that if you had called in the evening to request shampoo and conditioner, we would have brought it to your room then and there rather than waiting until the morning, as this would be more convenient for you. I do apologise if there was a miscommunication. We are currently in the process of installing a brand new hydropool and refreshment of the spa area, so if you do decide to return back to Tytherington in the future, you will be able to enjoy a new and improved spa experience. Again I do apologise for the disappointment you felt with your stay, as we work hard to deliver the best guest experience we can here at the Tytherington. Kind regards Laura Myles Deputy General Manager
Positive experience: Lovely pool and rooms. Reception staff were nice. Food and bar/breakfast is average or just below. Would stay again for the pool and rooms
Dear Andy, Thank you so much for your feedback, we really do appreciate it. I will pass on your comments regarding the food to our Food & Beverage Manager. Once again, thank you for staying here with us and we hope to see you again very soon. Sincerely, David Reed Duty Manager The Tytherington Club
Fantastic experience: Came here to play padel. Nice courts, lovely views, great service! Will be coming back to try a spa day and to play some more padel for sure. Such a beautiful setting and very nice, clean facilities.
Hi Heidi, Thank you for your great review and lovely comments! I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us here at The Tytherington, we look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Kind regards, Jos Duty Manager
Negative experience: They advertise as only 3 holes not open but the reality is there are huge areas fenced off as GUR all over the first 6 holes...we played back 9 twice two days running instead. It's not right that this isn't made clear when you book. Staff and hotel were great.
Good Morning, Thank you for your reply I'm sorry about some of your concerns during your round of golf. We do tell people about our holes being closed due to the bunker work and having GUR in certain area and because of this we have reduced the green fee rate or offered compensation. I'm happy that the staff and hotel was great and hopefully we'll have you back in the future when we have our 18 holes back fully open. Kind Regards Andy
Fantastic experience: Excellent hotel, friendly helpful staff and a great location. Highly recommended.
Thank you for the time taken for this review. We are aiming to the highest customer service, and this feedback can make us only proud. We hope to see you soon! The Tytherington club
Fantastic experience: Best hotel to stay in Macclesfield
Dear Alistair, Thank you so much for your 5-star rating! We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful stay with us. Your positive feedback means a lot to our team, and we’re delighted to have met your expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back for another exceptional experience in the future. Best regards, The Tytherington Club
Positive experience: We didn't stay was just at a party . The bar was awful they didn't know how to serve drinks. They put my gin in a tall glass then poured all the tonic in it without asking , it killed my drink only because they had run out of gin glasses.
Thank you very much for spending the time to share your feedback. We take every positive or negative feedback quite seriously as we constantly strive to improve our services. We will forward this to the relevant department and make sure more gin goblets are behind the bars.
Fantastic experience: We used the spa facilities during our stay at the hotel. The facilities were a great addition to our stay. Everything was really clean. The ice cave was out of service which was a shame but we made use of the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi.
Hi Helen, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am very glad to hear you enjoyed the facilities during your stay. Apologies for the ice cave being out of service, this is now back up and running should you stay again. Warm regards
Fantastic experience: Lovely facility and comfortable rooms. Outstanding service.
Thank you for your great review Jeff
Negative experience: We stayed at this hotel 2 months ago for a wedding. We had to pay for the room when we arrived. After the stay we noticed that we had been charged again on our Visa card. We contacted them and they refused a refund. They accepted that we had paid twice but insisted we rang other guests to see who hadn’t. We did what we could but couldn’t find anyone as if it were our problem anyway. Numerous emails later we still don’t have our money back. The admin staff appear to be useless. We have asked to speak to someone more senior but they now ignore us. Do not stop here unless you are willing to pay double So one week after the duty responded tothis bad review still no joy. We sent off all the email chains to the address as requested but nothing. No call or communication no ownership of the problem. Top and bottom of it is, we paid for our room and left. A few days later they took a further £240 and have been incapable of returning it even after accepting it was totally their fault. Every member of the management and admin team seem to be incompetent. If you stay here you have no guarantee that they will not do the same to you !
Hi Michael, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience whilst staying with us; please may I ask when you stayed with us? I have check our reservation system and emails, and cannot find any booking for yourself. If you could please send over the email chain, as well as the date you stayed with us to [email protected]; I will be happy to look further into this for you. Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Positive experience: Tough golf course- it is an ex female professional tour course so naturally is challenging! Great food at the clubhouse after with views onto both the 1st tee and the 18th green. Some feedback would be how tightly packed the course has its tee times, the whole round we were sandwiched between a 4 ball infront and a 4ball behind, and that was having a tee time at 9am! Imagine later in the day, I doubt there is time to finish a round if you start after 3pm even in the summer.
Good afternoon Elliot, Thank you so much for leaving us some feedback regarding your golf experience. I'm really glad you found the course challenging, and enjoyed the food and the views from our club bar. I have passed your constructive feedback on to our Golf Operations manager who can look at ways to improve how our tee times are set out. Kind regards, Laura Myles Duty Manager
Negative experience: The rooms were great. Golf course not easy but service poor & food diabolical. We went on a Lady Captain's weekend & course closed on the 2nd day so we never got our chips & sandwiches either. Unsure if we will get a refund.
Good Morning Alec and Les, Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback, we are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the food or service, your comments have been passed to the Manager for them to address this internally. With regards to your refund i have spoken to the relevant department and this is being addressed. We hope we can welcome you back to the Club again soon. Kind Regards Rachael Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: Stayed here recently to celebrate a friend’s stag do, had one nights stay and two rounds of golf. Hotel was really nice, room was very clean and with a modern bathroom and interior very on trend. Staff we dealt with all very professional and approachable and answered any questions we had. Golf course is set in a stunning part of Cheshire and condition wise was good considering all the rain we have had over the last few months. Most bunkers unplayable and should have been GUR in my opinion. Lots had stones and small rocks in them but they are about to undertake a program of repair on the bunkers which is much needed. Food we had was good but seen some of the other dishes that was being served up to the other guests and it looked levels above ours…Maybe this was down to us ordering the set menu? Would stay again but would like to stay at the peak of summer when the course is at its best and the greens are running more true and the bunkers all playable ⛳️
Good Evening Mark, Thank you for your positive comment, We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and your time on the Golf Course at the Tytherington Club. As you mentioned the Golf Course is due to a revamp and we hope that you will be able to enjoy it in the near future on a beautiful sunny day. I am sorry to hear that other dishes may seemed more of a different standard, your comment will be passed on to the kitchen so that we can always improve. I hope will be able to enhance your experience on your next visit. We are looking forward to welcoming you back at the Tytherington Club, Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require assistance, I wish you a very good evening, Thank You, Yours Sincerely, Giusi Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: Stayed in the hotel. My boyfriend and I loved our stay. Great night sleep, lovely staff, quiet location. The gym, swim and spa was brilliant every morning. Highly recommend if you need a place to stay in Cheshire!
Hi Jon, Thank you for your great review and feedback! We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us here at The Tytherington. I will be happy to pass your lovely comments onto the team. Once again, thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Negative experience: I never leave negative reviews but unfortunately feel I have to in this case. I joined the Tytherington Club which has an average gym at best, small workout space and no towels provided in shower room. The most disappointing aspect was my experience with the 'Membership Lead Manager'. I made contact to let her know I was moving out of the area and would no longer be using the gym so asked to cancel my membership only to be told I would need to pay an additional £200 even though I would not be using the gym. For obvious reasons I refused and I heard nothing more from them, no phone calls or contact. Suddenly 6 months later I have received contact from a 3rd party to say I owe a debt to the club, still no phone call from them. Terrible service, terrible communication and a very average gym for high monthly costs. Save your money and go to Total Fitness in Wilmslow instead.
Hi Lauren, I apologise if you feel you received poor communication from Memberships. Having looked through the notes on your membership, I can see that you received emails on the 19/12/23, 20/12/23 mentioning your termination date on a number of occasions as per company terms and conditions, which I can see our Membership Manager sent you. Memberships sent another email on the 18/01/24, stating your termination date along with a gesture of goodwill which was added to your final payment! You were sent a final email from memberships on the 22/03/24 stating that if you did not pay your outstanding fee as per your contract, that you would be sent to a 3rd party. Memberships tried to call you on a number of occasions, however there was no option to leave a voicemail! You have been emailed all communication that was necessary to keep you informed of what your next steps were to end your membership correctly and as per your contract. Kind regards, Claire, Senior Manager, Tytherington Club
Negative experience: I spoke to a duty manager by the name of Jacob. I asked if I could speak with the general manager and could he please tell me who was the general manager, you won’t believe what this fruit loop told me to do, he told me to and in his words ‘Google’ it! Can you actually believe that he said that to me? I asked him politely again, could you please tell me who the general manager was, he then said he didn’t understand my question! So, I asked him for a third time if he could please tell me who the general manager was and yet again he advised me to google it! So if your from the management company Epiris and your reading this, it’s about time you found yourself a new duty manager, one that A). Understands Plain Old English, seeing as we are in England. B). Remind your staff that they are in the hospitality trade! If your reading this, pass this place on by!
Negative experience: Joined the "health club" in December, by my 2nd visit the spa pool was annoyingly lukewarm, then closed for repairs. Every time I visited (approximately 20 times), there was a noticeable amount of wet, black sock fluff on the changing room floor. They do not close to the public at the same time as "loud children's swimming hour" , and as it is 2024 (and not 1985 when I was a child), each child has to be accompanied by at least one adult, so the entire pool is COMPLETELY FULL of people, just making noise. The clientele are the kind of people that use OUTSIDE voices in the steam room, and spa pool (something that should be a quiet, relaxing time). I sent an email to say that I did not find that it met my expectations, and would like to cancel membership, but instead of the reply being something along the lines of "I'm sorry to hear that, what it it we can do to improve?", I got an extremely snotty and smug "you cannot cancel until next January" . These people think that they can FORCE You to be a customer, whether you like it or not. This place should be called "Macclesfield leisure centre " it is not in the 'cheshire health club' league, like mottram hall, or shrigley hall. Avoid .
Hi Jonnti, thank you for taking the time to leave us some constructive feedback. We always thrive to create an environment our members are proud of and all feedback helps us work towards the standards set by ourselves but also our members. First of all we would like to apologise for the issues with the hydro pool over the christmas period, as a club we worked really hard to get the issues rectified and thankfully the issues were repaired in Janaury and we haven't had any follow up problem since. We are a family oriented site meaning at peak times and especially during swimming lessons the pool may be busier than usual. We do have adult only hours in the morning and evenings which is significantly quieter if that suits you better. If you would like to discuss your membership further please feel free to give our membership team a call who would be happy to assist with any queries you have.
Negative experience: What could be a great hotel is destroyed by rude incompetent staff and management along with with terrible overpriced food. Poor booking process, staff not knowledgeable to hotel offers and room not set up to the booked customer. Do not waste your money in the restaurant as you will be met with inedible overpriced food and when you raise a concern the staff are rude, condescending, argumentative and defensive (Nathan, bar supervisor and Giusi, Duty Manager). Management will not take any responsibility of concerns raised by the paying customer and will not offer an acceptable resolution making poor excuses for their unprofessional staff members. (Jessica Steeles, Deputy General Manager).
Good Morning Fraser, It is disappointing to read another review, despite discussing this in depth with you already over email and also attempting contact over the phone. The team went above and beyond for you during your stay to rectify the meal that was not to your liking; we replaced and refunded. The booking process that you describe as poor, is because there was a misspelling on your details, a simple mistake to make, nevertheless frustrating - the team rectified immediately and offered apologies. I can see you have also left the same review on Trip Advisor, which I will also respond too – I am still more than happy to discuss with you over the phone, as I can understand that you are frustrated and we do not wish this for any of our guests. I have taken responsibility of concerns raised and have offered compensation. However slandering team members not only over email but now on many online platforms is inacceptable. I wish you well for the future. Kind regards, Jessica Steeles Deputy General Manager
Positive experience: The massage done by Lilly was amazing! She was brilliant, getting every tight knot on my back and legs! The room was tidy and modern. Tv was rubbish but not too bothered. Pool area was ok however the jacuzzi part of the pool was too heavy on chlorine. Also shame that there isnt loungers by the pool. Food was ok and drinks were way too overpriced. Overall was a lovely stay. Would come back
Good afternoon Agne, Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback, I'm really glad you enjoyed your recent stay with us overall. Kind regards, Laura Myles Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: Great golf and Spa hotel.
Good Afternoon Marilyn, Thank you for the great feedback! We hope to welcome you again soon
Fantastic experience: What a wonderful hotel, the staff are so friendly and pleasant. We had a day in Buxton and stayed here on the way back, it has a lovely golf course but this hotel is not just for golf. The rooms are excellent with a fantastic walk in shower and a very comfortable large bed. The hotel is spotless and we had our evening meal there which we really enjoyed. Have a coffee in the conservatory overlooking the golf course Definitely one to come back to and so reasonably priced.
Fantastic experience: Hotel excellent, food great, rooms impeccable, Staff friendly and efficient. Golf course great but wet as expected, would be great in Sumner.. Will be back next year.. !!
Hi Martin, Thank you for your great review and lovely feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: Highly recommended to anyone who fancies a luxury trip to a quality spa with all the added facilities. We enjoyed everything from the swimming pool to the food and luxurious room. The staff were always nice and ready to sort any issues. The whole place was always clean and welcoming. We'll be coming back, for sure. Thanks, The Tytherington Club, for making us feel special on our belated valentines trip!
Dear Steph, Thank you for your positive feedback; it's really appreciated. We are happy that we were able to make your stay a pleasant one and we look forward to welcoming you back. Sincerely, David Reed Duty Manager The Tytherington Club
Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful stay at the end of January as part of my dad's 70th birthday celebration. The reception staff were exceptional, ensuring we were well looked after and they were very considerate of my dad's mobility problems. The room was wonderful and accessible, and the staff made sure we could get safely to the pool area too. Would highly recommend the experience of staying here.
Dear Greg, Thank you very much for your feedback and we are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards David Reed Duty Manager
Positive experience: Lovely hotel, only used to rest our heads for 2 nights. Rooms were clean and neat. Didn’t get a chance to use the amenities, pool etc but maybe next time.
Hi Bilal, Thank you for your lovely review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Once again, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: I visited The Tytherington Club today, 20th January as a guest with a view to a being a member. I had a good look round the Club and I was very impressed. I would definitely recommend a visit. Everyone was friendly and the facilities on offer are excellent. I also had lunch in the club area and the food on offer was excellent.
Hi Julie, Thank you for your feedback. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your time at the club recently, we strive to be a welcoming community here at The Tytherington. I will certainly pass your lovely comments onto the wider team, we look forward to seeing you around the club again in the future. Once again, thank you for your great feedback. We hope to welcome you back soon, either as a new member or guest! Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Positive experience: We stayed at the hotel midweek on a Thursday night. The hotel is set in a lovely location and easy to find. The rooms are very nice and cosy . Our room had walk in shower which was great. I have given it a 4 star rating simply because we were looking foward to using the Hydro Pool but wasn’t available on the day and were very disappointed as this is what we were looking foward to. The water in the pool was also very cold. The breakfast was poor to say the least for such a lovely hotel. I would stay again but it only if everything is available
Hi Steve, Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us recently. The reason for our hydro pool closure is due to the pool undergoing tests by specialists to get to the bottom of issues that have occured, we hope to have this up and running soon to allow our guests to enjoy this experience and we apologise this wasn't available during your stay. In regards to our pool, the temperature in our pool is kept regulated between 29-30 degrees celcius as per government and PWTAG guidelines however I will certainly raise this with our Maintenance team to look into the reason for this. I'm sorry to hear your breakfast experience was poor, I will raise this with the Food and Beverage Manager to investigate this further as we wish for all our guests to enjoy our breakfast experience. We will certainly have this improved in the future should you book with us again. Once again, thank you for your feedback. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Positive experience: The jacuzzi is out of order, it's drained awaiting repairs. How long it'll be shut for is unknown. Problem is the sauna and steam room are crowded as people use them instead of the jacuzzi.
Hi Peter, Thank you for your feedback. Our hydropool has undergone its assessment by a specialist and we are currently awaiting the results of their findings before notifying our members and guests. Communications will be sent out soon to clarify what will be happening with the hydropool moving forward once the results are in. Once again, thank you for your feedback. We hope to have this issue resolved soon. Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Positive experience: Great hotel easy to get to Manchester, Buxton and peak district. Room 29 is nice, clean and quite large as well as was equipped with USB ports and plenty of sockets however we had some issues little things like a broken cup , very noisy air con which I was told on checking out all room are the same and a broken heated towel rail. Swimming pool is nice and large gym is well equipped with plenty of room to workout Cons - hot tub was not hot and when we went to use the steam room and sauna we could not get in as they were really busy in the evening which also meant that they did not hold the heat. Having said that we would not stay here again just because of the air con as we had to turn it off in the night because it woke us up again.
Hi Richard, Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us during the festive period. I will certainly pass your comments on about the issues in your room, I'm sorry that these issues occurred during your stay. I will speak to the Maintenance Team to look into this further. In regards to the spa facilities, we have experienced a high footfall during the festive season; our facilities are quieter during the mornings and late evenings however these facilities are popular. Once again, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: Very comfortable bed and good bedroom. Great to have accss to the Spa. Good pool for lane swimming, a sauna, steam room with amazing Turkish Hamam style tiling, a very large jacuzzi, ice chest to cool yourself and v cold or v hot 'plunge pool' shower. The revently refurbished Windmill Pub is an easy 0.7m walk away for good value pub food. Would stay here again.
Dear Chris, Thank you for your great score and lovely feedback! I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us! We would love to see you again Kind Regards, Francesca Reception/Duty Manager
Negative experience: Terrible experience, stayed last night and was kept awake by a quest in the room above, from the hours of 1am until 4.45 am when I decided to speak to the duty manger at 4.45am he apologised and said the quest had been troublesome all night and had been told to be quiet or get thrown out, obviously this was ignored, I was apologised too and promised a refund on my nights stay, however when I checked out having only an hours sleep ( with a five hour drive home awaiting ) I was told the duty manager hadn't logged the issue as promised...shocking customer service, to top the whole experience off the breakfast was COLD and not to a standard charged in respect of the £144 pound 1 night stay. Will not be revisting. Francesca, then messages back two days after my review to discuss the issues with her team (which were not logged) and that seems to be the end of that, very much like the duty manager on the night, promising one thing and doing completely the opposite...I was giving your hotel a second chance to redeem themselves however it really does seem you have no respect for your customers in the slightest.
Dear John, Thank you for your feedback, I apologise that you had a disturbed sleep whilst you were with us. I will speak to those you spoke to during your visit to find out exactly what had happened. I can only profusely apologise you did not enjoy your visit Kind Regards Francesca
Positive experience: Stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip. Beautiful hotel with great facilities at affordable prices. But, don't get the breakfast because it's absolutely rubbish and really not worth £16. Also don't expect the staff to be friendly or helpful in any part of the hotel, because they really aren't. Beautiful hotel, rubbish hospitality, but I would stay again because of the location, and the great leisure facilities and rooms.
Good afternoon Selina, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. All feedback, be it good or bad, is welcome and useful to highlight areas we can improve upon. I'm glad that you enjoyed our rooms and facilities during your stay. I'm sorry that breakfast fell short on this occasion and I do hope we have the chance to welcome you back soon, so we can show you what we're truly capable of, hospitality wise. Kind regards, Laura Myles, Duty Manager
Positive experience: Mixed review unfortunately Great room but bed quite uncomfortable Breakfast nice enough but some of the buffet hot items were tepid and coffee machine only managed to offer Lattes Felt sorry for the 2 young staff on breakfast service they didn’t stop We didn’t have dinner but we did eat lunch in the Pulse bar which was overcooked and tbh poor Bar closed at 11pm which was a pity
Hi Douglas, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I'm sorry to hear that your experience in our Food and Beverage department was poor during your stay, we do apologise for this. Our Food and Beverage Manager is aware of the issues we faced over the weekend and is putting steps in place to make sure we improve this moving forward. I will be happy to also pass your comments onto them as well. Once again thank you for leaving your feedback and we hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Negative experience: The service was absolutely awful! They are not accommodating and highly recommend NOT staying at the hotel.
Good Evening Alejandro, Thank you for your review. I am very sorry to hear the standards did not meet expectations during your visit. I have looked at our reservations and cannot see a booking under your name; if you can provide further detail, I would be more than happy to look into this for you. Kind regards, The Tytherington Club
Negative experience: The maitre d' an older gentleman if you could call him that was extremely rude, the receptionist was nice and the room was okay and clean, we had a nice view but breakfast was pretty disappointing but the reason we wouldn't come back would be the rudeness from the one who just ruined it for us, not welcoming at all and we were with my granddaughter who was upset by how he spoke to us, overall disappointed.
Dear Evangeline, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we appreciate all feedback so we know where we can improve in future. I am sorry to hear about the comment about our staff members, we will look into this as this is not the standard we strive to deliver here at The Tytherington. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the room whilst you stayed with us. I hope we can welcome you back to The Tytherington in the future to regain your favour Kind Regards Francesca Reception Manager Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: We got married at the Tytherington club earlier this month. We can honestly say the staff and venue was amazing. There was a few very last min changes and the events team handled it and the day was perfect. All my guest said how great the day was and the food was amazing too. We stayed in the hotel in a family room they were good size rooms with all the amenities you need apart from a mini bar. The breakfast was good however they just need to be more on top of replenishing it at busy times however all in all we would certainly Recommend it to anyone.
Hi Vicki, Thank you for your feedback and score. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us and everything ran smoothly with your wedding! I will be happy pass your lovely feedback onto the Food & Beverage and Events teams. In regards to your breakfast, thank you for your comments we will certainly try to improve this for the future. Once again, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we hope to welcome you back to The Tytherington soon! Kind Regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Negative experience: Absolute ludicrous prices. How is any gym worth nearly £100pm. Mental money!!!
Fantastic experience: Very welcoming and experience, great location, rooms and very impressive gym and spa facilities. I'm giving a 5 star but would like to comment that the breakfast service requires an improvement. Staff very quiet, Coffee machine kept requiring milk & water topped up, hot food re fills were slow, guests seemed unaware of table seating and e.g 2 people would sit on a table larger for their requirements. There is clearly some training needed to better the breakfast experience sorry.
Hi Asim, Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate all feedback whether it be good or bad, so we know what we can improve on in future. I will pass your comments to our Food and Beverage manager so he can look into this further to ensure that this won't happen in future. We hope to welcome you back to The Tytherington soon! Kind Regards Francesca Duty and Reception Manager
Fantastic experience: Really nice hotel. The rooms were very nice and beds very comfortable with a great shower. The spa was lovely.
Hi Wispa Kid, Thank you for your feedback and score. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us! I will pass your lovely feedback onto the team. We hope to welcome you back to The Tytherington soon! Kind Regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Positive experience: Good challenging golf course, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. BUT, we (3 couples) were on a stay and play golf break and the food we were served on the first of our two nights was absolutely shocking. Battered rings that were discribed as calamari that you couldn't bite through, steak pie with crust so hard you could use them as bricks and a "mush" veg curry that was just slop! We are out on our second night. We contacted the manager on the morning after this disaster, six days later the member of staff responsible for taking our booking sent us what can only be described as a "fob off" email. We followed this up with a response to her points, copying in the manager (again) and their line manager (Reg. Dir). To date, another four days on, and 11 days since the incident NO ONE has taken any responsibility for the awful food, maybe they are too busy being fully booked and as such can afford to lose customers. Despite giving them every chance to respond they choose not to!
Hello Derek, Thank you for your review. I have now come back to your email and hopefully shed light on the situation and resolved. Apologies that my first response did not come across in the way I intended. The timescale for replying to your last email was due to my annual leave, I do hope you received my out of office? As I stated in my response to you, we are looking into the food quality that you received on the night to ensure this does not happen again in the future. Many thanks, Liz Events Manager
Positive experience: Hotel and surroundings excellent, public areas spot on bedrooms very comfortable with massive king size bed and large bathroom with walk in shower, unfortunately what let this hotel down a bit was inexperienced staff on bars and in the resturants most were trying to do there best but some staff seemed disinterested there didn't seem be any senior staff about to take control when busy as it was very busy when we stayed , I think the problem was down to the training side of things as some of the younger staff struggled with the service to the customer side of things. But to be honest we will come back to this hotel as it was top quality as far as comfort, good food great surroundings great view of the golf course, and ok staff a bit inexperienced at times but we will as I've already said stay here again without doubt.
Hello Mal, Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate all feedback so we know where we can improve in future. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and enjoyed the facilities as well as the surrounding area. In regards to your experience with our Food and Beverage team, I'm sorry to hear this wasn't up to standard. We do have new members of the team that are currently going through their training period, therefore I will be happy to pass your comments onto our Food and Beverage Manager so we can help the team improve service. Again I would like to thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and I look forward to welcoming you back to The Tytherington in the future. Kind regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Positive experience: We arrived at the hotel, the receptionist wasn't personal or cheery, she just took our details and told us where the room was and sent us on our way. The room was lovely, everything we needed for a comfortable one night stay, room was immaculately clean and had shampoo and conditioner to use in the shower and hand wash and lotion to use next to the sink. Lovely fluffy white towels and no complaints. We went to use the spa, a lovely guy (possibly manager? Shaved head, always smiling and helpful) Was behind reception and told us which way to go, we asked about booking for an evening meal and he said no need to book and he advised us to use the club restaurant instead of pulse bar if we wanted a child free restaurant. We went to use the spa, lovely clean changing rooms, need £1 for the lockers, the pool had a lovely area for children with floats if you have kids and 2 swimming lanes at the other side. Go through some glass doors to find sauna, steam room, ice room and the biggest jacuzzi I have ever seen. Perfect place to relax and unwind, lovely and clean. Can't fault the pool and spa at all. After going to the spa my husband went to the gym, he loves a good gym and he was impressed with the equipment and said it was up there with some of the best he has been in so another big tick!! After going back to the room and getting ready we went out to the club restaurant as recommended. The food menu was pretty much as I expected for a hotel price wise. I got a wild mushroom risotto (my fave dish) and my husband got a burger. The restaurant isn't table service so Husband went up to the bar to order. £16.95 each for our meals and then 2 drinks came to £52. I had a glass of wine and my husband had a pint of grolsch. I was shocked at 2 drinks costing £16 so I went and double checked at the bar to find a glass of wine costs £11.10!!! When the food came my husband's burger looked amazing and he really enjoyed it however my risotto was described as selection of wild mushrooms with tarragon cooked in a white wine risotto finished with hard cheese. The risotto was under cooked and the rice hard in places, no selection of wild mushrooms just a handful of button mushrooms, very oily and no hard cheese at all. Nobody came and asked if our meals were ok and I was hungry so just ate it and decided not to order dessert to risk being disappointed again. On the way back from the gym my husband had asked reception for more milk for my coffee for in the morning and the receptionist said she would get some sent, none had arrived before we left for our meal so we went back to reception to ask on our way to the room to ask and she said she would send someone with some. Again this never arrived! Back to the room to relax, it sounded like a baby elephant upstairs with a child running around but luckily the child fell asleep, people going back to their rooms later were not quiet, wishing everyone good night as loud as they could in the corridor. Maybe some please be quiet and considerate signs in the corridors may help to remind people to be more respectful and also consider putting children on the ground floor so they aren't running around upstairs above someone else's room! In the morning we got up and my husband went to reception to ask for milk (3rd time lucky) within 5 mins a lovely lady from housekeeping knocked on the door with milk , coffee and sugar. On our way to check out the receptionist asked if we were checking out but didn't ask if everything had been ok, this was a different receptionist to check in but still no smile or friendliness. To summarise.....lovely hotel, amazing spa, overpriced drinks, food not upto standard. No complaints with the hotel itself, maybe just some extra people skills training for receptionists, reconsider the cost of a glass of wine and work on some better food leaving the kitchen. Thanks for the comfortable clean room!
Dear Louise, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We appreciate all feedback whether good or bad so we know where we can improve in future. I am sorry that your check in/check out experience was not what you would have expected. I will look into this and make sure going forward everyone is greeted with a warm and happy welcome and goodbye. I will pass on your comments in regards to your food and beverage experience to our Food and Beverage manager so he can look into this further I do hope we can welcome to back in the future Kind Regards Francesca Reception Manager
Fantastic experience: Outstanding quality hotel with very attentive service and amazing surroundings. The facilities are top notch, the rooms are great and the staff is very friendly
Fantastic experience: Myself and my husband have just had a lovely break here. Beautiful picturesque surroundings and perfect location. Great friendly atmosphere and clean. Bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing. 5 starts all round for our man George who was part of the evening staff, he went above and beyond for us during our stay and really is a credit to the hotel. Thank you so much for an enjoyable stay we will definitely be back.
Hi Nicole, Thank you for your feedback and score. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us! I will be happy to pass your feedback onto the team. We look forward to welcoming you back to The Tytherington in the future! Kind Regards, Jos Collier Duty Manager
Positive experience: The room I had was absolutely amazing, great bed and extremely comfortable. Shower was very relaxing and I arrived too late for food but a young man at the bar went to the trouble of making me a coffee that was much needed. The breakfast was a let down sadly. I get the buffet style idea but the bacon, sausages, eggs and mushrooms were rather dry. Someone goes to the trouble of cooking bacon then you leave it to dry up over heat. When it’s quiet personally I’d rather order and wait for a breakfast to be cooked fresh to order. At £14 it was over cooked and over priced. I’m merely giving some constructive criticism and I’d stay again as the room was 5 ⭐️… Thank you to David when I arrived on local amenities I needed to use.
Dear Stevie, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We appricate all feedback whether it be good or bad so when know where we can improve in future. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the room! We are currently going through some changes in the way we deliver our breakfast. I hope once the changes have been made that we can welcome you back to The Tytherington Kind Regards Francesca Reception Manager Kind Regards Francecsa
Positive experience: Great place to stay. A lot of facilities. Theo from the Pulse Bar was wonderful. Made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. The views are incredible. The only downside for me was the lack of bathrobes in the room. There is a £10 charge per bath robe rent and its just a hassle to arrange. Otherwise we had a wonderful time.
Dear Julia, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate all feedback whether it be good or bad so we can look to improve these in future. I will pass your kind words about Theo onto him and our Food and Beverage manager! He does a great job of putting the customer experience at the forefront of everything he does! We do give complimentary towels in every superior room. I am sorry to hear that you felt it difficult to arrange getting robes added onto your booking, I will look to see if there is anything we can do to make the arrangement of adding amenities to future bookings an easier process. Again I would like to thank you for spending time to leave feedback and I hope we can welcome you to The Tytherington in the future! Kind Regards, Francesca Reception Manager
Negative experience: The hotel itself is fine food ok the beer prices are shocking 6.20 for a pint an shorts are ridiculous we went mainly for the golf an the course was neglected its easy to see there more interested in the leisure center side of things as greens were worst weve played on for years an no sand in bunkers at all full of grit an stones very disappointed we went to pub down the road in night time as we werent gonna pay there prices value for money no golf rubbish return trip never. Saddle golf society.
Negative experience: Unfortunately didn't have the best experience ordered food, wasn't busy, came back 30 minutes later to tell me they didn't have what I ordered, then I ordered something else, 30 minutes later I kindly asked how my food was doing, they didn't place my order. I hope for a better experience next time guys.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate all feedback so we know where we can improve in future. I am sorry to hear that you didn't have the best experience during your visit. I will pass your comments about your dining experience to our Food and Beverage manager so he can look into this for further. As this isn't the standard we set here at the Tytherington Again I would like to thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and I hope we can welcome you back to The Tytherington in the future. Kind Regards Francesca Reception Manager
Positive experience: This is a real shame because based on the building and the surroundings I would love to give this place five stars. Unfortunately the service let this place down. I’m not blaming the staff in any way as they were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. It just seemed that the place was under staffed especially in the morning for breakfast. Still a lovely place with fantastic facilities in beautiful surroundings and still very enjoyable.
Dear Richard, Thank you for your feedback and score. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and took use of the facilities! I will pass your comments on, We hope to welcome you back to The Tytherington in the future Kind Regards Francesca Reception Manager
Fantastic experience: Really nice hotel and spa
Positive experience: Stayed for a golf weekend dinner bed and breakfast and two rounds of golf . Positives first , room was great nice big shower clean tidy, tea and coffee no complaints on that score . Golf course was very good , good condition and a real test for anybody really enjoyed playing it . Now the negatives , dinner was very disappointing , I had prawns to start and got 3 so called prawns in batter which were tiny and you couldn’t taste the prawn only the batter , very poor. my main course was a beef chianti which tasted lovely but was too small we had a small stew in a bowl full of gravy but a tiny portion of potato . Needed a good portion of mash or chips or at least some crusty bread to soak up the gravy . We had been out on the golf course for 5 hours and were starving . It’s not hard to do some potatoes to go with it . Very disappointing and let’s the whole place down . Need to sort it out . Sadly gets worse now , breakfast absolute shambles . Wasn’t enough to go around and nobody seemed to want to sort it out . Breakfast was served until 9.30 but if you came in after 9oclock there was nothing left. Disgraceful . Shame because I won’t be back and it really is a nice place but they have to sort out the catering . FAST !
Good morning, Stephen Thank you for your feedback. Firstly, I would really like to apologise that your evening meal and breakfast experience was to your expectations. Regarding your evening meal, I totally understand, I will be passing this onto our Head Chef and we can look as changing a few things with the dishes. I understand breakfast on the Sunday wasn't great, we're very aware of the issues and what needs changing for improvements to be made, we're currently changing a few things to ensure this doesn't happen again going forward. We want all guests and customers to enjoy their whole stay with us this includes Food & Beverage, so we will do everything we can to fix the issues. Again I really do apologise and thank you for your honest feedback, we take all feedback very serious so it's very much appreciated. If you wish to discuss this any further please don't hesitate to contact me, [email protected] Kind regards Ebony Thomas Food & Beverage Manager
Negative experience: Nice rooms but the experience spoiled by chaotic and poor breakfast service. The breakfast tables were not cleared, the buffet was not kept stocked no clean cuttlery or cups. 2 members of the party did not get anything to eat. Clearly staffing issues and not being managed
Good Afternoon Chris, Thank you for your feedback! We do appreciate all feedback good or bad so we know where we can improve in future. I am sorry that the breakfast experience was spoilt on your visit. This is not the standard we wish to bring to our guests. We are looking into the issues that arose during your stay so they won't be issues in the future. Again thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and I hope we can welcome you once we have made the changes to our breakfast so we can regain your favour Kind Regards Francesca Reception Manager
Fantastic experience: Visited twice now and really enjoyed my visit. I was pleasantly surprised when I was recognised as a returning customer, maybe a missed opportunity to ask for some cheeky discount. The hotel is fresh and clean with great leisure facilities with both a family and adults bar area. I also took the opportunity to visit the spa which I would also highly recommend with great service. Parking is easy with a large car park on site. I also like the fact that the peak District is on a stone's throw away so a great opportunity to get out exploring
Good Morning Kieran, Thank you very much for your kind feedback and we look forward to welcoming you again soon.
Negative experience: Checked in around midnight. Paid 30 quid for a 2h late check out. I was told I couldn't use the gym after 11 even though I paid for a late check out. Food was abysmal. Ordered a steak. Came completely raw. They made me another so chewy and poor quality. Over priced. Spinach had no flavour a watery mess on the plate. Asked for iron that left a huge black mark on my shirt. All in all this place claims to be high end but really it cuts corners and delivers poor quality. Also £4 for an extra towel is extremely poor service.
Good Morning Leon, I am sorry to hear that the stay did not meet your expectations. The late check out option is so you have your hotel room for a longer time period but this does not include the facilities unfortunately. I have passed your comments regarding the food to our F&B manager and Head Chef, we have recently launched our new evening menu and are happy to receive feedback on this, it means we can improve moving forward. Did you raise this on the day? The team would have been happy to help. Our irons are all checked regularly and logged but I will ensure this is done again. As an attempt to be more environmentally friendly, we supply towels in your room but any additional towels needed for the pool do have a rental fee of £2 per towel, this is communicated prior to your stay to encourage you to bring your own or use one included in your room. If you have any further feedback or would like to discuss in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact me. Many thanks, Jessica
Fantastic experience: visited twice Lovely hotel in a nice area. Enjoy the Spa and facilities
Hi Shona, Thank you for you're kind words. we are glad you enjoy our facilities, hope to see you again soon. Sean. Duty Manager.
Positive experience: Really lovely hotel very clean and staff were all really friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The spa facility’s were really good. Had a facial at the spa and it was absolutely amazing best I’ve had. Only complaint is the food we had a meal in the evening which to be honest was at best basic but the breakfast was to be honest abysmal cooked food was cold ,infrequently replenished. No mugs for coffee, juices are watered down and horrible. The fruit was basic and bland. There was zero choice for a vegan and absolutely nothing for a coeliac member of our group. Really need to do better !!
Good Afternoon, Melanie Thank you so much for your feedback, it is very much appreciated, we take all complaints very seriously. I'm very sorry to hear you were disappointed with the evening meal and breakfast. I will agree we don't have as many vegan and Coeliac options, this is something we're aware off and have taken it further. Your feedback will be taken on board and we will look into this so this standard doesn't happen again. If there is anything else you wish to discuss please don't hesitate to contact us. Kind regards Ebony Thomas Food & Beverage Manager
Fantastic experience: Really nice place to stay had a lovely room Would of liked to have used the facilities in the morning before I set off but did not open till 9 am so will try using the next time we visit
Hi Mark, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us, we hope to see you again soon. kind regards, Ash (duty manager)
Positive experience: Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for a weekend the hotel room was very nice and the bed was comfortable, however the hygiene wasn’t the best there was hair behind the bathroom door and the general hotel lounge facilities wasn’t any better the food wasn’t great either to say we paid £35 for a jacket potato and a pie that was microwaved the breakfast again was expensive and not worth what we paid over £50 for 4 rounds of toast 4 bits of bacon and a scoop of beans? we ended up going to McDonald’s on the last morning as the food was not worth it overall nice hotel if your not planning to eat there
Hi Dionne, Thank you for feedback. We are very sorry to see if you only scored us 3 stars. I will pass this on to our housekeeping department in regards to the hotel room hygiene. We do apologise that you feel you didn't receive good value for the food. We maintain competitive rates for our food and drink. The hotel breakfast is a buffet so we feel that the price is great value as we provide cooked and continental options. We would like to thank you again for staying with us and taking the time to write this feedback. Take care, Will (Duty Manager).
Negative experience: Ridiculously expensive for members to eat and drink. Stanstead airport is only 19p a pint more expensive, based on a pint of Guiness. Says it all.
Hi Ben, Thank you for your feedback. We always aim to remain competitive, whilst driving standards too. I will pass your comments on to our central team for our next reviews. Many thanks
Positive experience: Allot of positives. Reception staff are very friendly and informative. Rooms are excellent, well equipped and welcoming. Very clean everywhere. Our stay was let down by a poor breakfast, staff did not inform us where anything was. Cooked breakfast options are very limited, 2 slices of my bacon had bones in I had to spit out, only egg option was very dry scrambled eggs (no fried or poached egg options), mushrooms tasted a big vinegar, sausages not browned all over so the skin was tough. My partner said fruit and yoghurt options are limited too. Toaster only Browned one side of the bread and last thing the apple and orange juice weren’t good either. Simple things to fix and it would be a very easy 5 star.
Hello Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to write this. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay! I am very sorry to hear that breakfast was not up to scratch. I will feed this back to the Food and beverage team. I can assure you this is not the standards we want for our customers. We hope to see you back again one day. Many thanks and take care. Will (Duty Manager).
Negative experience: Very poor experience, Will needs to learn what customer service actually means
Fantastic experience: Haven’t been for a while but have started going again and the customer service in the cafe has become excellent over the last couple of years. The service is fast and friendly, the vibe is chilled and positive and the foods great.
Hi Claire Thank you for your amazing feedback We have a new management team in our Food & Beverage department who will welcome this feedback with open arms! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon, Jessica
Negative experience: Had high hopes, but unfortunately this club suffers from the same problems as many large health clubs. Almost impossible to book a place in a class, as they are fully booked, even in off-peak times! Members are placed on a waiting list. What’s the point of paying over £100 a month for membership and not being able to join any classes? These issues were of course not mentioned during the sales pitch. Very disappointed.
HI Graeme Sorry to hear that you have been having issues getting onto our classes. January is always a really busy time for us, previous to this time bookings have not been an issue. This is the reason why we do monitor our classes weekly looking at usage, waiting lists etc in order for us to see demand and action if need. I know that being on a waiting list doesn't mean you are on the class, however from our viewings we have noticed that on some classes even members who are 10th on the waiting lists have been able to get on the class, either via an automatic update or by receiving a call from the club. So please go on any classes with waiting lists. From members feedback, we are also making changes to how many days in advance your can book. An email has just gone out to our members, with this you will be able to book 7 days in advance rather than the 4 day currently. So from he 1st of February 7.30pm you will be able to book a week in advance. We can not be sure how this will effect bookings however if you are able to book at 7.30pm via the app then please do and please consider being on the waiting lists. If you would like to speak to someone in person, please speak to our studio coordinator Ash. he will be able to advice on the usage report and maybe help or see if there are alternative classes that suit you. Kind regards Kelly Bailey Fitness & Wellness Manager
Positive experience: Very nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, the bathroom is clean with the a good shower. The gym and the pool area is great. Very helpful and welcoming staff specially Sean. The only negative thing is the lack of variety for the breakfast since only English breakfast is available. Continental Breakfast should be offered since international people comes to the hotel.
Fantastic experience: Awesome venue where the staff were just brilliant Be back soon!! Jess made our stay so memorable
Fantastic experience: Quick overview for three night stay with young child. Very helpful & efficient reception/check-in. Beautiful, clean, warm, well serviced bedroom. The only hot food available is bar food in the cafe. Such a let down! The little one largely only eats pasta & they ran out..crisis! Fabulous health club…surely the Spa bath is the most perfect in the country? Big, v warm, comfortable, sublime setup inc lighting/setting. Overall strongly recommend.
Hi Nicky, firstly id like to say thank you for going out of your way to leave us a review. We highly appreciate all feedback from members and guests. Secondly, i shall pass that onto our F&B team, apologies you was not satisfied by our food i hope this would not stop you staying with us again. hope to see you soon. kind regards, Merry Christmas and a happy new year, Sean Bowen. Duty Manager.
Fantastic experience: Hand on heart, this is by far the best hotel I've stayed at, ever! I post a lot of reviews for hotels so trust me when I say this. From start to finish, booking it, checking in, communication beforehand and during - the friendliest people with a professional manner! The room - spacious and comfortable. The bathroom - if you think you can't wet your whole body in one go, you can! The waterfall shower will rinse you head to toe in one blast. The handheld shower was decent too! Free parking, air con, windows bringing in natural light, not far from Manchester, in house spa and pool area, 24hr room service!
Hi Hasnein, Thank you for your kind words. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at The Tytherington Club. We hope to see you back again in the near future. All the best and many thanks. Will (Duty Manager)
Negative experience: I was with family we had two fish finger sandwiches and a chicken and bacon baguette . It’s was awful fishfingers were watery on two pieces of white bread crusts still on absolutely no finess or attention to detail try sour dough bread something crusty and the baguette was very very dry once again presentation left a lot to be desired not worth £29 daylight robbery
HI Sarah, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we really appreciate this as it helps us to see what we well and also what we can do to improve. We are really sorry that the food you received on the day of your visit was as described and is not the experience we want our guests to have. I will be feeding this back to our food and beverage department to help improve the quality of food and its presentation going forward. Again, thank you for the feedback and we hope you will visit us again to see how this has improved. kind regards, Ashley (Duty Manager).
Negative experience: My sister is a member of this club and asked to suspend her membership while she goes through a period of chemotherapy treatment, they said they want proof of treatment and want to charge her, £13.50 if she wants to use it for a day pass, no empathy no customer. Service, shame on you
Good Afternoon Brian, Thank you for taking your time to leave feedback. Firstly, I am very sorry to hear that your sister is undergoing chemotherapy treatment and wish her well. I can completely understand the stress this will be causing and I can only apologise on our behalf that you have felt no empathy during this difficult time. Unfortunatley, we do have to follow procedure when processing a suspension or cancellation but I will certainly take this feedback seriously and ensure we are showing empathy to the situation. I am happy for you to contact me directly, should you wish to discuss further - [email protected] Apologies again, Jessica Deputy General Manager
Negative experience: Used to be amazing. Prices of gym keep increasing. No more free towels for the gym members who pay nearly 100 pounds a month. Creche used to be free but now is paid for every session. Once the hotel started, it’s no more a members club but a very average and expensive place. Management needs to keep a tab on customer experience.
Good Afternoon Jack, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I have addressed your points below in the hope to shed some light on these areas: Initially the towels were taken away due to COVID restrictions, however when we looked at getting these back into the business it has made us review a number of factors, the main being the environmental effects. We were washing one towel up to 60 times a week and often unused towels were being washed. When we refurbished the club, we took away our laundering facilities. We do offer towel rental at £2 which lots of our members take advantage of. We lowered our junior membership fee, to allow inclusivity for all ages and have put a charge on children under 8 using the creche, this is still amazing value at £4 per hour, our creche team always receive amazing feedback and we are looking to improve the junior offering alongside this. We did increase our membership fee’s this year, however we froze our membership prices and haven’t increased them since before covid, therefore this is the first increase for a couple of years. With the current climate, I’m sure that you can understand the reasons for this. We have not changed our agenda and currently have a huge focus on improving our customer experience, we have launched a standards programme to improve our offering for our members. If you have any further queries I would be more than happy to have a chat. Thanks again for taking your time to leave your feedback, Jessica Deputy General Manager
Fantastic experience: It was only 1 night but the place is 1st class. Beautiful hotel
Thank you for your great feedback Roy! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Many thanks Jessica
Positive experience: Polite staff and very clean rooms. Breakfast not always warm and needs a little more choice on the cooked side, evening menu ok. Dining area wasn't always clean which was a concern. Was never told of the swimming lessons that take place 3-30ish onwards so pool is very noisy. Not what a hotel guest really needs. Also a member of staff conducting an interview in a public area surrounded by members of the public, really not professional. Golf course in excellent condition given recent weather and golf staff very friendly and accomadating. Would I recommend a friend? Probably yes.
Hi Tony, Thank you for your mail, I am glad you enjoyed our Hotel & Golf facilities. I have fed back your comments to the Food & Beverage team regarding the food and the cleaning in the pulse bar. The menu is changing after the new year so there will be more to choose from . The swimming lessons are a regular activity within the club and I am sorry that you wasn't advised. I am pleased that you would recommend us, we have a lot of exciting changes coming to the club as we welcome our new GM Ian. Kind Regards Joanne Duty Manager
Negative experience: The bed was very big and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with great toiletries provided. Breakfast options aren’t great with the buffet breakfast and the pool hours are awkward with children unless your day is to be spent at the hotel solely. Don’t forget to ask for more towels to the room as even as a resident of the hotel you have to pay £2 non refundable for each towel for the leisure facilities. As couple/hen/stag party this place is great, family not so much.
Fantastic experience: Spent the day and night here, I was impressed with the rooms, smart and stylish ,homely and warm. Great night sleep too ,bed was amazing. I used their spa facilities ,A yoga class that was really great ,sauna, steam and swimming too ,it was a truly great place to relax, enjoyed ice scrub room too ,jucuuzi was really warm and relaxing . A great place to stay. The breakfast was lovely all good tasting hearty food , The staff were helpful and friendly throughout . My only gripe was the hotel bars etc are all cashless which I think is the wrong path for society to go down ,yes cards are handy but no one can switch off the cash in your pocket ! Please bring it back
Good evening and thank you for your comments . We have been cashless after we opened up again after Covid and there isn't any suggestion that we will revert back to accepting cash any time soon. I do apologise if this caused you any inconvenience . On your next stay with us if you mention when checking in about a pre-authorisation then purchases during your stay could be added to your bill and settled on check out . I know this does not resolve the cashless issue but it may help when ordering food and drink through the club during your stay . Kind regards Joanne Griffiths
Negative experience: Have been coming here for months, it’s expensive but facilities are nice. Came in today and forgot that my membership has different schedule on weekends (I always come in during weekends but queen funeral was bank holiday so my schedule shifted). As a result I was here 20 minutes before I’m allowed to go in and they couldn’t make a one time exception to let me in 20 minutes early so I ended up waiting for 20 minutes. :)
Good Morning Martin and thank you for your email. I am sorry that you had to wait until your time allocation to access the facilities and I understand your frustration but as per the lifestyle membership terms this is something we have to adhere too in the club. We do have other members that have been in the same situation as yourself and although its an inconvenience , we have to ensure we follow the times of your membership to make it consistent with all members. Kind Regards Joanne
Positive experience: Lovely modern hotel, friendly staff cuisine leaves a little to be desired. Golf course great but challenging. Plenty of golf balls req.
Fantastic experience: If you need a place to stay near Macclesfield then you won't find better than the Tytherington Hotel with golf course, leisure and spa facilities
Hi Ian, thank you for your comments, glad you had a lovely time.
Positive experience: Nice hotel which is conveniently located. The staff were very helpful and nice. Rooms are great as well in terms of cleanliness, AC and bathrooms. We didn't find the pillows too comfortable but were too exhausted from our sightseeing during the day to care much.
Dear Rabia, Thank you for your lovely recent feedback, we appreciate you taking the time to fill it in for us. Here at the Tytherington club we take all feedback seriously and use it to improve our services. We do have different types of pillows available, next time you book please let reception know if you would like a different type put in your room. Kind Regards Jill Thompson Duty Manager The Tytherington Club
Negative experience: Went for a drink a couple days ago with a mate, hot day a lot of people to serve, but only 1 member of staff behind the bar!? Poor from management
Dear Sam, Thank you for your recent feedback, we appreciate you taking the time to fill it in for us. Here at the Tytherington club we take all feedback seriously and use it to improve our services. I will send your feedback to our Food and Beverage manager so he can improve our service. Kind Regards Jill Thompson Duty Manager The Tytherington Club
Negative experience: Poor service, terrible food, and poor attitude from staff. Looks good but really isn't. Food arrived cold with a fried insect on my sons chips. Ignored by majority of staff. One very nice member of staff called Ana She was the best thing about the place. Will not be visiting again.
Dear Chris, Thank you for your recent feedback. We take all feedback and use it to improve all our services.. We appreciate you getting back to us on this matter. I will give Ana the lovely feedback you gave about her. Kind Regards Jill Thompson Duty Manager
Fantastic experience: The golf course is fantastic. Too many good holes to count. The 12 hole was particularly challenging, but in general it’s a tricky course. Beautifully landscaped and in great condition. Plenty of sand and water to add some spice. I was told it’s one of the best in the area, from my experience that’s absolutely true. Pure class.
Dear Richard, Thank you for your recent feedback. We take all feedback and use it to improve all our services.. We appreciate you getting back to us on this matter.I have fed back your lovely comments to the grounds team and they were extremely grateful to be so appreciated. They often get overlooked for their hard work and asked me to thank you for your wonderful comments. Kind Regards Jill Thompson Duty Manager
Negative experience: The room itself was clean and well presented. Unfortunately with the bathroom, the shower pressure was awful and the sink constantly had water retention. The WiFi signal in the room gave about 2 bars, if lucky. When we queried the WiFi in the hotel prior to booking, we were informed that the TVs were smart and connected to WiFi, this was not the case and was just standard Freeview - for all rooms. The AC/heating unit kept making loud noises and loud clicking sounds throughout the day and night causing a lot of irritation. The hotel charges for towels to take to the spa facilities. The swimming pool is hired out for specific times of the day for children's swimming lessons, which then does not leave space for hotel guests to enjoy the facility. When questioned different staff regarding the same issue, all 3 staff gave different answers; not reassuring at all. Again, when queried the booking over the phone, we were advised that we could pay cash at the reception for the stay. As soon as we arrived, the receptionist informed us that this is a cashless hotel. I think staff need updated training so they're all on the same page about the hotel they work in. Unfortunately, we would not recommend, nor revisit.
Hi Thank you for your review and feedback, and were sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. The issue around the shower you had is unusual. Our showers normally give really good high pressure showers in all rooms all the time. Our Wi-Fi is something we need to look at as with the high demand from the hotel it seems as though it may be struggling a little. The TV's are smart TV's but the connectivity hasn't been enabled yet. We are a cashless hotel and business, and information on this can be found on our website. It's unusual that any member of staff would say that we accept cash at all. The pool is used at certain times for swimming lessons meaning there is less space for others to swim. The pool and health club is complimentary to hotel guests, and is always subject to availability. However I do understand that this can and has had an effect on the experience you had during your stay with us. Kind regards Sean
Negative experience: Service took an hour after starter for main chicken in the main was questionable overall the food was not filling bland and just underwhelming
Hi Thank you for your review and feedback. We're sorry to see that you had a poor experience with us. Is there something we can do to improve our service? Regards Sean
Negative experience: Staff is rude and very judgemental and ask why u are staying for so long and pool is to hot and made my skin itch and I came up with red spot everything I went in and u can't swim cuz of kids going in and out lanes and staff don't do anything about and needs I lifeguard on pool side health and safety from a lifeguard point of view . Gym is ok.food is good but needs more on menu not much option .cleaner's look at my belongs and blame me for something I didn't do in bathroom near bar
Positive experience: Golf course good. Evening meal in the hotel average at best. Apparently struggling for kitchen staff. Prices in the bar were high. Went to Weatherspoons on Macclesfield
Hi Paul Thanks for your review and your feedback. We did have an issue with our kitchen staff which has since been resolved. Regards Sean
Fantastic experience: Room was very comfortable and had all the amenities we required. Well functioning Thermostat meant we could get the exact sleeping temperature we wanted. Thick curtains blocked out the strong summer sun in the morning. The staff were very helpful in accommodating our son who had several food allergies.
Hi Graham Thank you for your review, and its great to hear such positivity about your stay with us. We will make sure our teams get to see this so that they have extra motivation. Kind regards Sean
Positive experience: This is a leisure place. Slow, relaxing, calm. We were here on business and whilst the first impression is great, this place is less suited for business travelers. The staff is very friendly, helpful and nice but check-in takes forever. Also, the room wasn't available until 2:30 PM and I had to wait. Breakfast is apparently served until 9:30 but at 9:15 everything was cleaned up (not started to clean up, everything was actually gone already!). Pool & Spa areas are opened during office hours when you are in meetings so if you like to swim early before getting to work here you'll have no luck. Overall a great place. I wish it also catered towards business travelers.
Hi Thank you for your feedback. You do make some interesting points for us to think about. However we do need to balance the needs of all our members and guests. So gym access in unlimited, but out pool access is restricted to certain times. This is so we can balance the needs of our members versus the needs of our hotel guests. As for the breakfast. During weekdays is served until 9.30am. Maybe the staff were a bit too eager to get on with their day and should have waited until 9.30am to start clearing away breakfast items. Kind regards Sean
Positive experience: played Tytherington on hottest day of the year. no halfway house to buy much needded drinks.. course is good test of golf..greens ok fairways good .bunkers a disgrace..tees untidy.. unforgiving course .can hit good shots but get penalised by trees.. would not rush back to play 6/10 could not use cash in hotel which caught us all out. no mention on website evening meal on Friday was pre booked for 44 but turned up nearly 1.5 hrs late and was very poor. in the end some of our group left and got taxi into Macclesfield for a meal staff are very good. hotel . pro shop very pricey biggest rip off was 2 slices bread and butter £5 to sum up hotel excellent but seem not interested in the golf side..won't be back unfortunately
Hi Karl We have been made aware of some issues highlighted during the golf break and we are looking into this further. Regards Sean
Positive experience: Very good golf course in good condition (apart from bunkers, sand like concrete !). Hotel rooms excellent and staff very friendly and helpful, food could be better and dinner menu needs extending for hotel guests, we went out to eat as only 3 main meal options.
Hi Martin Thank you for your review and we appreciate your feedback from your stay with us. Kind regards Sean
Positive experience: Golf course long and tough i walked it would advise a buggy for older golfers lads in golf shop were brilliant, hotel rooms were spot on , food not the best I had fish & chips, fish should be freshly battered , breakfast could be better
Good afternoon Mark , thank you for your feedback. We do have buggies for hire via the Golf shop , I am sorry if that wasn't mentioned ?. The weather hasn't been great today but I wasn't aware of any restrictions on hire. I am happy to pass on Comments to the chefs regarding food if there was any specific you found not to be good ? Kind regards Joanne DUTY MANAGER
Negative experience: Did not live up to my expectations. Course acceptable but a lot of work required on the bunkers. The bar ran out of beer on the afternoon of the first day, plus other issues which led to one of my friends calling it Fawlty Towers. Food was not good and pre booked desserts on the first night were not available. It is a fact that half our group dined in the pub down the road on our second night. To be fair the accommodation was excellent and the staff did their best. My other issue was that there was a health club attached with children running around the bar in the evening after swimming lessons. Will not be returning.
Hi Ray Thanks for your review of your visit. Whilst things may not have gone to plan during your stay with us we did our best to try and rectify things once we knew there was an issue. The staff acted professionally and tried to resolve the issues you have raised. We apologised for service we provided and did offer refunds for those affected. We will look at what and why it went wrong, and we will look to put a plan of action in to prevent it from occurring again. Kind regards Sean
Fantastic experience: Very comfortable hotel with large well equipped rooms. Good restaurant.
Positive experience: Rooms nice but lighting poor for the ladies. Food variable from good to poor.
Fantastic experience: Great place lovely food nice and local. Staff very friendly.
Positive experience: Lovely! Relevantly a little bit poor breakfast for 15 pounds but it is golf club so understandable.
