Fantastic experience: A very practical council-led (and owned) fitness centre. All credit to Wiltshire Council for keeping the service in-house and not contracting it out. This leaves one with a sense that the council are still interested in the "softer" side of community affairs. Prices are very reasonable, staff are friendly - go along and see if it works for yoU!

Fantastic experience: Great gym..nice comfortable surroundings . A good old fashioned gym with no fancy trendy trimmings,just excellent and friendly staff..Always a warm friendly welcome..Castle place gym is Not just for the young folk but us more senior folk to. I swear by it..

Fantastic experience: Wiltshire Gym in Castle Place gets my vote every time for it's friendliness & helpfulness. There's workout equipment to suit all ages & abilities.

Fantastic experience: The gym is clean and the equipment is organised in such a way to allow for safe distancing so that you do not feel uncomfortable at any point. Everyone who works there is very helpful and friendly; it's a pleasure going there to workout. The lessons are available to all levels and the instructors are very accommodating. My friend and I tried a few before we settled on the body combat lessons and we have had such a nice welcome, we love going there.

Negative experience: Gyms nice, community is awful, and put my fees up by 12 pounds a month without consulting me. Whilst happy to give the benefit of the doubt with the fee increase, the overal poor experience of using the gym from the aspect of other users ruins things for me. Noisy spin classes and other users not letting other members use equipment leads to a very poor atmosphere. Whilst paying the 25 pounds month I was origonally charged for the gym was somewhat worth it, however at the 37 pounds I was charged last month the gym becomes very poor value for money as the 24 hour ones in town only charge around 40 quid a month.

Fantastic experience: Lovely people! The staff is absolutely amazing. Friendly and super supportive every day. Whether you are exercising to loose weight, shape, or to feel happier they always have useful advise and a smile ready for you. Definitely recommended :)

Fantastic experience: I love the place. The PT's are very knowable. All the gym goers are nice. Good set up, extra classes Covid friendly. Definitely worth coming to try it out. County Council run it now. I'm looking forward to the move. Come to this gym it's so friendly and no one filming themselves

Negative experience: Tried transferring my membership from their Eastleigh branch and the representative from Trowbridge said he'd get in touch with me once he sorted it. It's been 8 weeks and have not heard a thing. I've now joined Snap Fitness which is great!

Negative experience: If you need real help with real issues, best not to join this place as they don't really seem to care to get to the bottom of your issues and care more about direct debits maybe. Not even getting the basics right. Never seen the G.M on the gym floor engaging the public. They design programmes for people when they don't understand the nature of that person's situation. THIS WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE WORSE, NOT BETTER. When it comes to health and healing of others, ego needs to be kept to a minimum. "It isn't who is right, but what is right." and "Don't think you know, Know you know."

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff, very good sized gym with lots of classes available but need to book in advance as they fill up quickly. Always spotlessly clean, nice changing rooms, personal training, spin classes, gym attire available, towels and water bottles to buy, vending machines for a cold drink as well as water available.

Positive experience: Good range of classes, haven't used the gym yet. There's air con in the studio! Showers don't look great, changing rooms could use a little love. Reasonable membership prices if you use it. There's also a crèche on-site which is a great feature!

Positive experience: Reasonable gym for a leisure centre. There are lots of cardio machines, a number of resistance weight machines and some dumbbells and benches. Also some mats, steps, weighted balls and core bags. Music is non intrusive and the place was clean, tissue valuable for wiping machines down. Good range of workout abilities in this gym, so anyone less used to gyms will not feel overwhelmed. If you are looking for a blokey body building gym....this is not your thing...

Negative experience: Not a good review. Cleaner on holiday and showers/toilets have not been cleaned for days.

Positive experience: All good, no complaints. Extra star if the men's changing rooms and showers ever get a makeover.

Negative experience: Not a great review as its based solely on one phone call, but that was enough to put me off. Looked on the website for prices and was unable to find any, kept getting "call us on" where prices should be. This is the first problem. Why are they afraid to advertise a basic membership price? So I called, I asked very simply about prices. They attempted to get me to come in for an appointment. I said I was just interested in their prices. They used very poor "handling techniques" to evade the direct question, the only conclusions that can be drawn from this are that they charge too much, and they know it, and they want you to come in so they can pressure you into signing up, probably for some 12 month contract. Places like The Gym Group have no issue advertising prices, nor doing monthly memberships. Terrible. *Edit I thought I would give them a second chance, and boy did they fail. I went in and asked directly at reception if they had a price list. The lady at the counter said "no, she would have to make me an appointment with a customer advisor". I said I just want to know the prices, she said "there is no price list, you need to see an advisor". I sighed and walked out. On the way out she shouted at me that I could join now and not pay anything until October, I responded with "that still doesn't tell me the cost" and continued to leave while the lady and her colleague/freind laughed at me as I left. What lovely people. Obviously they want to get you into a room with a trained brain washer who will use a hard sales pitch and attempt to pressure you into signing a 12 month contract.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, well maintained with lots of good equipment. The staff are always very friendly as well. Gym car park can get quite full, but can always Park in the multi-storey instead.
