Fantastic experience: Great gym, soon to be independent

Positive experience: Decent gym, good amount of equipment, have yet to find it too busy, could really do with a refresh it does look a bit gloomy and tired inside

Fantastic experience: For what i pay, this place is fantastic. They could do with upgrading the equipment from time to time but that will be the case with most gyms. Its clean and the gym goers seem to be all good people. I dont use the showers so cant say much there but seeing that the regulars are still there after 1 yr they are doing something right! Watch out for some of the deals they have, they are pretty good and well worth it

Fantastic experience: Been a member of this gym for over 6 years. It has everything i need. All the machines, weights i need unlike some gyms i try and always find something missing. Theres even a nice studio to stretch out in. Super friendly staff and its 24/7 so perfect.

Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness Urmston is a great place for anyone who wants to work out on quality equipment at a reasonable price. The gym has a lot of different types of equipment for training, including lifts, dumbbells, treadmills, stationary bikes, and much more. It is a place where you can really work out and achieve your goals. The gym's location is also very good, making it easily accessible to most people in Urmston. And Gym’s Staffs are great & friendly too.

Fantastic experience: Having been at this gym for a few years I can honestly say it has been like a comfort blanket for me, the staff are always friendly, chatty and willing to help. Such a wide variety of gym goers in there as well, really down to earth people. Highly recommend joining this gym, I am only leaving this gym due to moving out of the country - if it was not for that I’d be there forever! If you’re looking for some advice I would definitely say go and chat to Sam who is one of the PT’s, he’s absolutely lovely, so approachable. He has tons of fitness/lifting/nutrition knowledge and is always happy to advise, he also offers his own training and nutritional plans!

Positive experience: Staff is great, facilities and location amazing. The only thing that is a bit annoying is the RAP music with a lot of swearing.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant location, just across the street from the Urmston rail station! The facilities here are great; plenty of storage space, and there are a couple of vending machines with snacks and bevs. The staff isn't intrusive and the machinery is well-kept.

Fantastic experience: The only 24 hour gym in Urmston. Plenty of equipment. Upgrading my review to 5 stars. I've been going for over 12 months and highly recommend the very clean facilities and helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, good facilities and friendly staff, 24 hour access is great, not too busy. Always found it to be clean and welcoming. Days I want to be left to do my own things I’m left alone, but when I have asked for help with motivation, info about equipment or general advice, all the team have been very friendly and approachable. They have a myzone system which is motivating and intuitive during my workouts when I use my belt to track my effort and calories burned from my workouts.

Negative experience: Appalling customer service, we’re not accommodating and made me feel uncomfortable. Tried to make me do things by saying it was in the terms and conditions but when I sent the terms across and proved I didn’t have to do it, they just ignored it and didn’t even apologise. Genuinely the worst ran gym I’ve ever been to.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and clean gym. They always have time to help me even if they are in the middle of doing something. I have been here for a couple of years now and wanted to try some new exercises the other day but I wasn't sure how to do some of them, so asked the staff if they could show me how to do these correctly and they were happy to show me and corrected me to make sure I didn't injure myself.

Negative experience: This gym was the worst experience in my life!!!!The most awful, appalling customer service!!!!!!!It is impossible to cancel the membership!!!!Stay away of this place for your sanity!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, very friendly staff and trainers. Best equipment and is priced good for what you get compared to the other gyms around the local area. Referred my friend a while ago and when she joined I got a discount off my membership too which is great!

Fantastic experience: I work strange shifts for a lot of people and I go in the middle of the night after work. They have good quality equipment, the place always looks clean and there is always wipes available to use to clean everything I have used

Negative experience: Over priced for a gym with machines out of order for months due to being broken. I also got charged a months fee whilst they deactivated my fob so I was unable to enter the gym! Poor service all round.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful staff .i never found pts sleezy. O found them very helpful and dont push ahead off anyone for the machines at the gym. They always willing to help over membership. I at other gym which offers same service and not leaving. One i was at shut down because off covid.Anytime fitness never took payment fees during lockdown.people should support their local gym. Not moan about it.All business have suffered during lockdown.

Negative experience: OMG!!!!!! I have never ever, ever had the most awful customer service in my life. I cancelled my membership via email last December to now being told I hadn’t followed the correct process and given a bill for nearly £180. I have tried to email/phone the place and got no response. Watever u do DO NOT Join this gym…..

Negative experience: It was the worst experience of my life with Urmston’s anytime fitness When you go there for a visit everybody is very helpful until you get a membership and just a second after your nightmare will begin and you can not find any person with even lowest level of responsibility. They cut one month more than their contract from me which I will chase it. To summarize do you want to regret? Welcome to anytime fitness.

Negative experience: DON'T go near this gym! Cramped gym, old equipment and not worth £30 a month!!!! Been to a few gyms in my life and this is by far the worst one! Wanting to cancel your membership is impossible due to the fact that they don't answer calls/emails. Thieves. Avoid at all cost!

Negative experience: Very poor communication and customer service. Charged members throughout the COVID pandemic while the gym was closed. There is next to nothing the Anytime Fitness brand can do to help if you have a complaint as the buck stops with the local gym. Be prepared for pushback when your membership purportedly ends

Negative experience: Highly disappointing experience, very poor customer service, rarely pick up a phone call, poor communication, no timely response to e-mails, poor quality of equipment and support from staff. If you are joining their membership you are joining a trap and paying to buy a headache. It is not easy to cancel their membership as they will not respond to you and keep deducting from your direct debit. I would have given -5 star if any option would have been available

Negative experience: Awful experience, poor customer service support, small congested place with few equipment, much better gyms available at a lesser price in the area

Positive experience: Great place to train everything you need plenty of room staff are great

Negative experience: Very few facilities, very difficult to cancel membership, staff are fine. For the price there are better gyms in the area, the 24/7 element of this one being it's only redeeming feature (if you can go between midnight - early morning you might get the workout you're after)

Fantastic experience: Staff are very kind and are willing to help with everything. 24/7 access meaning you can come in whenever you want and the instructor led classes are really good.

Negative experience: I was a member of this gym from when it opened, however after many concerns about the way it is run I am in the process of leaving. The management is appalling, in particular the manager is rude, unhelpful, and always too busy and stressed to do anything to help. Staff are exploited and treated really badly. Poor customer service and terrible people skills are not a good recipe for any business. Some of the personal trainers are really sleazy and it’s quite appalling to watch the way they interact with female clients. They can also be quite rude, commandeer the equipment for their clients, and seem to think that their sense of entitlement goes ahead of that of gym members. Security is poor - despite the system that is in place staff are instructed to leave the front door on the latch when they are in, and therefore anybody can walk in at any time. I have raised this issue many times and always been fobbed off. In addition where conflict occurs between members the manager us incapable of dealing with it robustly. Equipment is often not working, in a poor state, or excuses are made as to why it can’t be properly maintained. Truly if I could give no stars I would - I have just joined another gym 5 minutes further away for half the price. It is like another world compared to this gym.

Negative experience: If you try to leave the gym, they'll caunt one month not from the day You leave, but from next payment. So it comes 2 full month for me as I tried to cancell on 2nd of January. I have messaged to the gym and had couple of answers, which would only indicate that they will charge me no matter what I say and at some point they've just stopped answering . They have also taken my fob so i had no access to the gym on second of january but they still want me to pay for gym in february for full month?! Absolutely failing customer servise since i have moved to oposite side of manchester and they dont even consider that. Taking in to account all other comments about this gym - not a big surprise. Not recommending this gym to anyone, unless you are willing to loose some money.

Negative experience: The customer service at the place is appalling, misled customers as to what they get for their contract and will help in no way with any issues. Facilities are poor and male staff regularly make women uncomfortable with their staring. Disgusting place that I would not recommend to anyone

Positive experience: This is my local Gym in Urmston. The best thing about this Gym is the staff are very helpful and friendly and will always provide advice and help when needed even if you are a long standing member. Also if all the gyms locally Anytime fitness has the most up to date machines for watching media while working out and tracking/recording your fitness.

Negative experience: I actually enjoyed using the gym itself, it's a little expensive for what it is but the equipment is ok. However when it came to leaving due to emigrating it was incredibly difficult. My email informing them of leaving was ignored, the manager acknowledged that they had failed to respond to it as: "The Urmston inbox like many business email addresses is inundated on a daily basis with hundreds of emails making it very difficult to see every one individually" and so ignored this as my notification. The manager also said it's better to phone or tell them face to face (even though the terms and conditions are clear it has to be written notification). The assistant manager Jonathan Francis was courteous and helpful throughout, however, the manager Tara Neil was very abrupt and lacked good customer communication. Instead of wanting the one months notice that the terms say is required, she demanded double, and then the same day treble, telling me they will refer it straight to the debt recovery firm if I didn't pay. She wouldn't explain how she came to the amounts and I lost faith in her being able to competently manage the situation. There have been other reviews on Facebook complaining about similar difficulties with overcharging when leaving and I would avoid this Anytime fitness gym at all costs.

Negative experience: Here's the positive. Notice, "positive", singular. The equipment is all brand new and state of the art. That said: the changing facilities are inadequate, with room for at most a couple of people to change and one to shower at a time. I can't even imagine what this place is like when it's busy. Tiny lockers, separate from the aforementioned tiny changing area, are a real inconvenience. The monthly fees are more than double what you'd pay at a budget gym - like the one right up the road in Stretford - without really offering anything extra beyond slightly nicer equipment. When I went for a free trial, the trainers hit me with an aggressive sales pitch and when I stated why I was leaning towards not joining, they were openly rude, making sly insinuations about my fitness level and income. Yes, I AM out of shape, that's why I'm JOINING A GYM, genius, so the snide comments about how your gear is "more than enough for the kind of training [I'm] doing" are just what's wrong with the fitness industry. As for being "out of my price range", I could actually easily afford what you're charging, but why would I bother when I can get just as good a gym, without the ignorant staff, for less than half the cost? So here's the TL:DR version: avoid this overpriced, undersized gym and its unpleasant sales staff masquerading as personal trainers at all costs.
