Positive experience: Staff very friendly. Relaxation room was lovely. Aqua zumba really fun. Jacuzzi was not working unfortunately. Took a while to get our food order sorted. Spa area is quite a distance from the pool area. Robes are not provided.

Negative experience: The staff were amazing, all very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. However, the facilities in the spa and changing rooms were a massive let down. The building looks very ran down and could definitely do with some investment.

Negative experience: Went here for a “spa” afternoon, body scrub & facial with my daughter. Not a spa at all. Pool was small & cold. Jacuzzi was all broken round the edges. Half the lockers didn’t work. Treatment, was rushed & we had ripped towels. All in all a total disappointment & not worth it even on the “offer” price

Negative experience: Food was very poor. Not enough loungers poolside, spent time standing up! Their robes/towels were not very fresh and we’re still waiting for the deposit to be returned. Overall, a very run down and tired place.

Negative experience: They're quite happy to cancel your appointment (with 15 minutes notice - when you're already on site) and then fail to issue a refund. Had to spend hours on the phone, getting fobbed off and passed from pillar to post before I could get anyone to process a refund. Awful service and Martin (The 'GM') doesn't return calls either. Feels like you're banging your head against a brick wall. Check your refunds carefully!

Fantastic experience: I did think long and hard about giving 5 stars. Been brought a spa day for xmas and went to Mansfield with my daughter for the day. Fantastic body scrub and massage but cafe closed at 12.30. It did put a damper on the day as we had to leave and go next door for some lunch. What swayed my decision was the assistant manager and general manager their willingness to try and help and although the situation was down to staff illness they were really helpful and understanding. Having to go next door for lunch did impact on the enjoyment of the day but thanks to the staff didn't ruin it completely.

Negative experience: Treated by my daughter so looked forward to this. Spent the day in the pool area and steam room. At 3pm we went for our treatments a 30 minute shoulder massage. We entered the room and got on the table. What seemed quick to me and the staff said if you get dressed hope you enjoy the massage. As we came out i checked the time. 3.20pm so I complained about it at reception saying 5 minutes to get ready and 5 minutes getting dressed works out 10 minute massage for £90. They said they would get the spa manager to contact me. But nothing. The place is a rip off. Avoid

Positive experience: Was an ok experience, staff seemed friendly enough. Super strong chlorine smell, ended up losing a watch, unsure if the spa rooms were cleaned between clients, oily footprints and damp bed.

Positive experience: The lady that massaged me was good. So the place isn't very visually relaxing alittle to modernly cold. Compared to like other spas thay have that warmth and relaxing vibe. The sauna are okay! It's not easy to find your way around so many people got lost. Me and another lovely lady kept directing people to where they needed to go whilst awaiting our treatments. The massage lady was very good she really picked up my experience and the lunch was lovely too ii booked it through wowcher I would not recommend doing this. It made it difficult just book directly.

Negative experience: I went to the gym here for 3 months. The gym equipment, changing rooms and gym hall is very tired and pretty much needs shutting down for a full renovation. The gym is so busy in the evenings & weekends its nearly unbearable & theres no structure to where equipment is so its a mess. The pool area is full with day passes/spa treatments especially at weekends which again makes the swimming experience poor. This isnt worth the money in any way shape or form. I do not recommend anyone going here for memberships and I would be so disappointed paying for a spa day here.

Fantastic experience: I just had the most lovely day at the spa here. The facilities were really high quality but best of all was the amazing customer service I received after having mistakenly booked in at the wrong spa branch. I’m sorry I don’t know your names but everyone at reception who helped me were so kind and made me feel much better. They let me use their facilities and gave me a complementary robe free of charge which I appreciated so much. It made the whole experience so positive and turned a bad day into a lovely, memorable one. Thanks again for everything!

Fantastic experience: This was a present from my daughter. We had a lovely neck, back and shoulder massage in a double room. It was very relaxing. The masseur really loosened the knots in my shoulder. I loved the swimming pool also, where you could swim full lengths. The sauna and large jacuzzi were great, too. It was a shame the steam room was out of order that day. We felt revitalised after our visit. Would definitely go there again.

Positive experience: Went with a friend on a spa trip, very limited, more a gym with a small, rather chilly pool, jacuzzi and a steam room, shame the sauna wasn't working. The himalayan massage was very good. I wouldn't pay to come back but it was fine going for free! Save your money for a real spa.

Fantastic experience: Great day & fab facilities (used Gym, Swim, hotbeds, steam room, jacuzzi, waterbeds), they also have sunbeds but not my thing & didn't use the studio for any classes so can't comment on these ... Sauna out of use but hardly a big deal considering everything else was available. Greeted by Keira at main desk on arrival who was so friendly and welcoming, gave me directions around the building and told me to come back to the desk to see her if any questions, fab front of house host! Had lunch in the cafe, omelette was cooked to perfection and serving Starbucks coffee is a massive hit for me! Finished the day with a massage treatment from Emma who worked absolute magic and made sure I was comfortable throughout, very knowledgeable & amazing muscle relaxation technique. Great value for money & fab staff, will definitely be booking again!

Negative experience: Booked a spa day for my sisters 18th birthday. The Facial was nice but sauna was out of use, the hot tub was being cleaned so out of use and the pool was not heated, it was like getting into an ice bath so all we could could use was the relaxation room and steam room…not much of a spa day!!! We wasn’t told that some facilities were out of use either, we won’t be going back

Positive experience: Excellent spa treatments, good value for money. Pool, Sauna, Steam Room & Jacuzzi available to use whilst you wait. Take your own towels & robe, although they are available at an extra cost.

Fantastic experience: I can only speak as someone who's had a treatment rather than used the spa, but I was gifted a pregnancy massage for my birthday, and it was incredible! Toni was so accommodating, friendly and really put me at ease. She checked which areas were aching the most as I'm in my third trimester, and she was very careful around my bump. I would do one again in a heartbeat if I had chance!

Positive experience: Went for the day spa with a friend as a birthday treat. We had a lovely day. We were greeted at reception and made very welcome. Had the smashed avocado with perfect poached egg for lunch and cafe staff were lovely. Had a swim and relax by the pool and a session in the very well equipped gym. There were classes available but we didn't do any. The highlight was my massage treatment by Toni which was totally amazing followed by a relax on the heated water beds. We're definately going again and I'd say it's a great value day out.

Fantastic experience: Great for a cheap spa day. Helpful and friendly staff. Organised well with good facilities. Good as long as you remember that it is a health club offering a spa day not a spa. Great value for what we paid for.

Negative experience: Spent £140 on a spa day for two which was with lunch. We parked at the back entrance and were welcomed by dangerous wooden steps which were slippy and uninviting. The robe hire is daylight robbery and wasn’t explained prior to arrival. The spa itself is dated and needs a major upgrade. The hot stone beds hardly work with them not getting hot at all. I paid for the upgraded treatment time of 45 minutes but was only massaged for 30 minutes. The oven was still broken and by looking at other reviews it has been broken for several months so all you could have for lunch was a jacket potato or cold sandwiches. I ordered a jacket potato which arrived with literally a spoon full of beans and cheese. When I questioned this the very, jumped up, camp cafe manager told me the ingredients were weighed from head office which made me laugh as my husband had a lot more than myself. Will not be returning. Absolute shambles and waste of money went to Breedon Spa in derby to make do this rubbish experience which was to celebrate our anniversary.

Negative experience: Massage was good but the centre was awfull. Its just an old leisure centre with massage treatments. We tried to eat but oh my was it disappointing. microwaved sausage with a wet brioche bun.. grimm. My partner had scrambled egg on toast but was actually scrambled egg on bread. Food took over 40 minutes to come wich isn't that bad but considering there were only two others in the restaurant and had already ordered. Would not go again especially for the price I paid.

Negative experience: I wouldn't ever go again.... The changing rooms have leak marks all over the ceilings and very dirty in places. Didn't feel very invited by other customers and staff members I was body shamed by 2 customers there because I'm plus size! was awful. The treatment we had was cut short and very poor didnt feel relaxed at all i was more stressed out. And there was no signs to say where the sauna and steam room was and spa pool was closed. I've never been to a spa before and worst experience I have ever had. I will never go again. I spent £109 and wasn't worth a penny. I would like my money back.

Positive experience: It's an OK spa, I felt it was in need of an update here and there. There are lots of steps with NO LIFTS, so keep that in mind before booking spa facilities upstairs. The cafe had no working oven, so was on a very restricted menu, the towls and robes are that used they had holes in then ( they needed to be thrown out). One good thing was the massages and facials, that was excellent.

Negative experience: Can’t get on any classes as loads of new people have joined yet no extra classes! Just greed by Bannatynes not fair that loyal members been coming for years are not able to get on a class they come to regularly and that is the only thing that is helping them at the moment feel so let down

Positive experience: Lovely experience as a whole. We had a couples spa day, whereby we had some nice massages, an amazing facial (I will be rebooking again) and some time in the swimming facilities. Only qualm is that the pool is shallow and short, but other than that, very cleanly and pleasant.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with good wet facilities. Only gym I've been a member of where the sauna isn't constantly closed so thats good. Can sometimes get a bit packed with guests on spa days - probably required a bit better capacity management but this is only really on weekends

Steam room and changing rooms had mould all in them Relax room is not relaxing when having a spinning class above your head

Negative experience: The reason it gets two stars is because I don't think that you could sell this as a spa day. I think it's quite naughty and misleading. It's a lovely place if it's your regular gym, but it certainly isn't worthy of being called a spa. It has a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi (which is only just warm) and a small pool. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. They also have sunbeds that you can pay extra for. The scones you get with the package we had were ok but with butter and jam? No cream? The towels you pay for in the £8 pack are tiny, no where near sufficient for a woman to dry her hair and body. The whole place is a maze. The signs refer to the treatment rooms as "the spa" so you end up wandering around looking for said spa and find yourself in the treatment area where they massage. There's a 'relaxation area' where they've got filthy water beds that aren't inflated. They're covered in mould. Ghastly sight to be sat in and amongst, so we didn't utilise that. All in all, if we'd come here for the day as we could have done, I'd have been very disappointed and it would have been over in 90 minutes. The massages we had were fantastic. That really was the saving grace! If you hadn't guessed it, we wouldn't return!

Negative experience: I wish I can put 0 ⭐️ here. So poor staff even if the gym, pool, jacuzzi and sauna are amazing . I only wanted to go there for day, the guys from reception didn’t know how to help us with the daily Pass so they rang someone for help. They asked me to go back home to fetch the ID for the daily Pass even if they never asked my sister days ago for an ID so I came back home, I lost 20 min. Then they charged me and my friend £10 each extra and then when they realised it they couldn’t give us the refund because they “didn’t know “ how to do it and no receipt because they “didn’t know” how to give me one. I never seen such poor service anywhere. I’ll never go there again. So many guys working there but nobody at reception who can help. Such a good place with such a poor staff.

Negative experience: Spa retreat Good points - the staff are lovely, the treatments were lovely and the girls in there were very friendly. Relaxation room was lovely but one waterbed was broken so only 1 left as a couple using the other 2. Overall terrible experience, extra money for robes and flip flops. We went into the pool area to find limited beds to relax on, one was broken I think about 8 overall. Luckily we got the ones at the far end. There were others standing about with nowhere to relax. The pool area needs updating also. We decided to relax on loungers then realised a man was starting up aqua aerobics and come and put a huge speaker next to us. There’s nothing relaxing about that. We decided to go home straight after our treatments

Negative experience: Booked a spa day, the massage was great but when we went to use the pool we couldn't as there was aqua arobics on in the pool and all the seats were taken with towels and robes. On arrival we were told robes and towels were an extra £18 each which was not advised on the call we received the night before. We decided to eat before trying the pool again which took 45 minutes for 2 ham and mushroom omelettes. We then got into the pool facilities which we spent dodging kids doing flips in the pool and dodging toe nails in the hot tub. If your looking for a pleasure center with spa facilities this is the one if you want a spa day like we paid for go elsewhere

Positive experience: It was a nice set up, very polite staff but I felt this experience of massages wasn't for me, I would recommend to anyone whom enjoys this sort of thing tho. Cafe is very gd value for money as well.

Negative experience: Toilets have a broken waste pipe that head office have not approved funds to correct damage so toilets have such a strong ammonia and urine smell or stings your eyes. The staff are lovely but they can only work within what head office will allow. Staff are lovely but the toilets are awful and need shutting down for a couple days to sort.

Negative experience: Difficult to book classes as a member and NO vegan option on menu. As a member of this gym and spa it is very expensive if you can't do classes or eat there

Negative experience: We arrived when they told us (15 minutes before treatment). We had 2 treatments for 55 minutes and an additional 15 for a third. Once we got upstairs we waited for about 20 minutes and the treatments were fine but it wasn’t done fully (clearly they were running late and it felt like they used our time to catch up!) I was meant to have a full body massage but only my back was done.. The robes were horrendous, ripped and whatnot. When we were leaving we waited 30 minutes at reception so we could get a refund and when someone did come down, he didn’t have a way of letting me purchase anything with my voucher! For the amount paid, I did expect more. I’ve been to the Leicester one and had a much better experience. Will be going back to the Leicester one.

We had a massage, facial and scalp massage with Emma and Holly (I think) it was amazing and they were so lovely. Pool, Hot tub, sauna and steam room were all lovely, we will definately be returning

Negative experience: Really disappointing experience. They don't tell you about the extra charges for towels etc on arrival. They had no flip flops left so had to walk around barefoot or in trainers. Towels were full of holes and the robe was threadbare with no tie. Lots of broken lockers. Facilities were below average. The sauna was lukewarm. Treatment was good but overall it just wasn't worth the money at all, can't believe the standard is so poor for a big chain. I tried to complain but they don't respond. I would steer clear

Positive experience: Birthday treat from my friend Sarah. We were very disappointed the jacuzzi was not open. When we arrived at 11am they said it had been cleaned and should be open later. It was still closed at 5pm! The water was warm. They said the oh levels were low! This and the massage were the main attractions. No one on reception when we got there.young lad from the gym tried to help us but he couldn't. He asked another member of staff to book us in. This guy was sat at a desk (not reception desk) in reception area and just left us waiting like idiots. How long would we have been stood there if the young lad didn't come from the gym??? We had a Wowcher deal that included 3 massages each. These were amazing thanks to the girls who did them. Very relaxing. Layout in the building meant going up and down different floors for different things. Went to the oak tree pub nextdoor for lunch,that was fantastic.

Fantastic experience: My friend and myself had a back,neck & shoulders massage with hot shell absolutely gorgeous then we had a facial. Both treatments were so relaxing. After the treatments we used the relaxing room with warm mosaic beds and water beds after that we went and had a sauna & steam room. All in all a fantastic morning everyone one was amazing and accommodating and helpful. We will definitely go again

Negative experience: The spa definitely needs updating. Ive visited far better council run leisure centre spas. The pool area is quite grimy and feels grubby. There were only 4 loungers around the pool which were all occupied so we were unable to just relax when we didn't fancy using any of the facilities. We didn't end up spending long in the spa as it was far too overcrowded and overall just really disappointing. We spent most of our day in the cafe waiting around for our treatments. The food is simple but pretty tasty and fairly priced. The receptionists were really friendly and polite; the staff doing the treatments....not so much. The treatments themselves were ok nothing special. I dont think it's good value for money and wouldn't return.

Positive experience: The spa treatments were very good value for money and all the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout the day. The relaxation room had plenty of beds and was a quiet sanctuary. My only niggle is that it is basically a leisure centre and although there is a pool, steam room and bubble pool there are very few places to sit and relax, read a book etc in that area which is disappointing.

Negative experience: AVOID AVOID AVOID Purchased a voucher, was really excited about going but spoke to two women on reception called Paige and Emma who were very rude and unhelpful. I spoke to Paige first who advised she cannot redeem my voucher but had two spaces available for Saturday but she was being very awkward and saying I have to redeem it through Bannatyne's. So I followed her instructions while she was on the phone and still nothing was happening. Then Paige started to cry for no apparent reason which I thought was very unprofessional. Then I phoned up 2 hours later and spoke to Emma who then advised I had to redeem the voucher through the third party website. Again no one was being clear and helpful therefore I had no other choice to get a refund! Very bad customer service, has put me off all together and I will not be coming to this spa in the future.

Negative experience: This spa is cheap, but still not worth it. To start i was handed a robe and towel (no flip flops as they ran out), the robe had a nice 4 inch hole right by the love handle area. The pool area is very outdated and full of sweaty gym goers and "lads" taking bets on what percent of the cold jacuzi was urine. No chance of sitting on a louger with a book as there were only a few loungers. You wouldn't want to either... if you visited in the morning as a water aerobics class would pummel your senses so much you wished you had no senses. Sadly the steam and sauna rooms didn't block out the noise, i would have stayed in them all day if they did. I thought I'd escape to the relaxation room for a spa like quiet experience. No such luck. I think i achieved 10 minute's of serenity before the constant footsteps up and down the stairs began, gym music seeped through the walls and then...Someone started cutting metal outside the fire door with a power tool!!!! I promptly got in the shower and gave up on my day spa experience. I ended up spending most of my time in the cafe while i waited for my massage (which was excellent), this was a much nicer atmosphere and the food was simple but good. If you visit just for a treatment and a bite to eat, you will be pleased with your experience. Don't bother with the rest. To improve this place the owners need to decide if its a gym or a day spa. The size doesn't lend well to being both with so many visitors and noise which ruins the spa day experience.

Positive experience: It was a nice break from rushing round and busy lifestyle. It was too busy in the swimming pool, steam, sauna area for my liking as gym members are using the facilities too. It didn't have that spa quiet feel to it. It was nice to get food and drink on the premises. Overall a good day out with treatments. The therapist was lovely but again I've had better treatments else where for the amount of money paid into this day. Wouldn't say its worth it!

Negative experience: What a total waste of time and money! I feel really sad for my student son who purchased a voucher for me as a Christmas gift out of his hard earnt cash. He chose me a leg and back massage followed by a manicure / nails. All vey rushed, in and done with in the hour and my nails look awful coats are far too thick. The beautician was in far too much of a hurry and didn’t allow the paint to dry between coats. Infact when I left I went via Sainsburys to purchase nail polish remover and cotton wool! Just my worse experience ever and I will never return. Just don’t bother with Bannatyne!!

Positive experience: Not bad. Would have been extremely disappointed if I had paid full price for it. It’s more of a leisure centre than a spa. The facilities are average at best. The spa was too busy to enjoy it. Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were constantly full. The relaxation room is a waste of time. The therapies were brill. The girls were very professional and did a great job with the massages. Reception seemed understaffed. We were waiting a while to be checked in and were told that we’d have to come back down to get our robes etc otherwise it’d come out of our therapy time. This was despite us arriving 20 minutes before the therapy times. The layout is very strange and everything seems to be on different floors. The place is like a maze and you’re finding yourself constantly looking at signs to figure out where you’re going. I don’t think we’d return back here if I’m honest. Even for the place we paid, I believe it was expensive. Hardly any loungers around the pool area either so there’s not really anywhere to relax if you haven’t got one. No plastic/paper cups provided next to the water fountain either, what’s that all about? This was a present for my partner for our anniversary. In all honesty I feel like it was little bit of a letdown. They also charge you £32 for robe and slipper hire per a couple. You get £20 back as this is a deposit. The only things you’re allowed to keep are the bag and the slippers for £12. I don’t think I’ve ever been to spa where they charge you for robes and slippers.

Positive experience: Nice relaxing spa treat. Staff lovely although hard to find way around as like a rabbit Warren!! Ha ha

Negative experience: Extremely rude staff. I have cancelled mine and my families membership and having received an email demanding further payment I contacted the club to be greeted by the most unhelpful rude member of staff who refused to take a message and put the phone down on me

Positive experience: The spa treatment was really nice and relaxing, although not what we had originally booked. They were "out" of lava shell ones The food in the cafe was just ok also. Unfortunately they also did not have both the main and dessert I originally asked for. The jacuzzi was nice and husband enjoyed the sauna and steam room. The only other thing was my robe had a bit of a threadbare tie which only just did up.

Fantastic experience: Had the best spa day today . Everyone was so welcoming. The spa facility’s were basic but really nice and clean. The treatment was amazing , Toni did an amazing job and made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. The food was really nice in the cafe . You can pre order so your food is ready as soon as you sit down. I booked through wowcher and it was an amazing experience for the price. The only downside is the robes were really rough and the belt was really scruffy and had no belt loops but apart from that I had an amazing time

Fantastic experience: Spa day experience at Mansfield - use of gym, any classes, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The Spa treatments (back massage, facial and Swedish arm and hand massage) were wonderful. All staff extremely helpful and polite. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Only disappointment is that it's not closer to home, but will go again. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Good massage nice pool but a little tired with od pieces of wood work to cover broken tiles near pool, café a little strange as only had full fat milk and no alternative

Positive experience: I visited the spa for a second time with a spa gift voucher. This spa has a little bit more to offer than some of the Bannatyne spa's with a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and relaxation room offering heated water beds and heated sun beds which is very nice. It isn't quite a full spa but for the money I think the facilities offered are good. I had a back massage, facial and head massage which was very good. We also had lunch in the restaurant which was ok and also has a Starbucks option for drinks which is nice.

Fantastic experience: Friendly , professional team and such a welcoming atmosphere. My friend and I visited for a spa day and I feel relaxed and refreshed (also 2 inches taller after a wonderful massage ) . The relaxation room was superb and I thoroughly enjoyed my treatments. Serena made me feel so welcome and relaxed, I’m so looking forward to going back! Thanks for such a lovely day.

Positive experience: Its ok, Me and my partner came here for a spa day and the facilities poolside are left to be desired, the pool was a bit chilly, there is blackened areas and a tired aesthetic all around the wetside, its in dire need of some investment to pretty it up a bit. Ive come from clifford health spa, so perhaps we have been spoilt for choice, and perhaps this spa isnt catered to match the capacity of what clifford health spa is, but there just wasnt much choice in facility. Might I add though, and its saving grace, is that the staff here were fantastic, the massage was great and the dining/tea room area was spotless so big points to the people manning their stations here, In summary, fine for the most part and great staff, but the wetside area is in need of some investment
