Negative experience: DISHONEST & LEGALLY QUESTIONABLE Was excited to join this gym but had concerns from the start. One manager giving misleading membership prices, later the excuse being that they were transitioning membership price plans - not correct, he said he would give our daughter a lower price as a special deal. Managers covering for managers. The machines are really outdated, none of them have workout plans, none have scenic routes to follow on screen, none of the tv channels work on the equipment. The ceiling in the gym has been broken and the ground underneath blocked off for months. Several exercise machines have been out of order for months despite us being assured on our tour after I asked the downtime of broken machines, that they are fixed in a timely manner. The same ones were still out of order 3 months later. The lift from the multi-storey car park is also always out of order from the gym parking level, not ideal when you have a disability like me. And to top it off, they took money from our bank account without authorisation! We had not completed and handed back a direct debit mandate for our child’s membership, so they took it upon themselves to increase the direct debit we already had and take the money without consent or prior notice! Each membership had a seperate direct debit and this one was not yet completed or authorised. When I challenged them I was told that them taking money without authorisation is a ‘gray area’. It is NOT. It is a breach of the direct debit scheme, a misuse of data they hold under GDPR laws, against the FCA rules and Payment Services Regulations 2017, not to mention A HUGE breach of trust. Oh and the cancel anytime contract? Read the terms and conditions, when you cancel you still have to pay the next month. They tried to quote the ‘terms and conditions’ when I challenged this until I quipped back that taking money without consent is also a breach of terms and conditions. The manager only then agreed to waiver the pro rata fees. They are in the process of refunding the unauthorised payment taken from our bank but when I asked for a refund of the previous months memberships as compensation for their dishonesty and underhand and illegal conduct - this was denied. The only positives of this gym are the lovely reception staff and the beautiful pool. As a well known brand such as Nuffield Health, that coincidentally have business links with employers and our health insurance providers, our initial excitement and misguided loyalty we felt to Nuffield Health were extremely misplaced and disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I joined Nuffield in Wokingham at Easter after several years at another club across town. The facilities at Nuffield are superb. Everywhere is kept super clean, the club is welcoming and friendly but the best thing by far is the classes. A huge range, well organised, reliable, easy to book on the app. All of the instructors I have met so far are super friendly and helpful, and Frankie in particular deserves a special mention for being so supportive and enthusiastic, making the classes just the right blend of challenging but still enjoyable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for 8 months now and can honestly say I always look forward to attending my classes. Aynsley, Cam and Patrick always put on great gym floor classes. We have a little community of people that go each week, so they have become really social too. Aynsley in particular has recently adapted his circuits classes and has added a team competition element which has really spiced them back up again. At times, classes can get a little repetitive, so we love that Aynsley is trying to change them up a bit and keep them exciting for us. I haven’t seen a class as busy as it was tonight in a long time- so other people must love them too! Thank you to all of the PT’s, you’re fab!

Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym for some years and have seen it go gradually down the drain! Once upon a time it supplied towels and lemon infused drink, which was a good touch . That stopped. The equipment are dated, the smith machine has been out of order for a good few months now, the roof leaks and it is generally not as clean as it used to be. On the plus side, the staff and instructors are "A1". Decided to cancel my membership - real shame.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Nuffield Health gym in Wokingham since August. The staff are very helpful. There is a wide choice of classes and the booking system and reminders work very well. The gym is well equipped. Frankie, Patrick and all the gym staff are very helpful.

Positive experience: Joined the gym two months ago, really impressed with the new equipment and how clean the whole place is kept. Also presently surprised how relatively quiet it has been on all of my visits.

Negative experience: I’m really disappointed that Carla is no longer working at the gym. She was an excellent instructor and the main reason I continued with my membership. I will definitely move to Wokingham Leisure Centre across from the gym, which offers more classes and has better, cleaner facilities.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so friendly. It's like a community. The facilities are top notch, and there are a variety of classes, including pilates and yoga. The instructors and PT coaches are very knowledgeable. I'm completing PT with Frankie, who is so knowledgeable and easygoing. She focuses on form, posture, stability, and being in the right mindspace. I can't recommend her enough!!

Fantastic experience: Nuffield is a great gym with a well equipped gym floor (a step machine would be the cherry on the cake!), large clean pool, sauna, loads of classes and a very comfy changing room with straighteners and hair dryers. What I love about it is that the water runs hot in the showers so no lukeshower post gym session! The female steamroom needs improvement and so would the male one I've been told. We only pay half price with our health insurance and and it's well worth it.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love being a member at Nuffield. I mainly use it for group exercise and the timetable is full and varied - there's something for everyone. The instructors are brilliant, the staff are welcoming, and the atmosphere is fun and supportive. It's a really friendly club and I hope to see you there some time.

Negative experience: Nuffield Wokingham is a very dated gym with facilities that are constantly broken. Steam rooms/sauna don't get cleaned regularly and constantly smelled mouldy - a high risk breeding ground for germs. Reception staffs are friendly enough but doesn't care to do their jobs. I don't think it is entirely their fault as the turnover of management is high in this gym. Water machines constantly not functioning as needs to be drained. The small touches like lemon-infused water provided has now been stopped. The only plus about this gym are the instructors for body pump classes (Carla/Nicola/Frankie) , and the new personal trainer Patrick who is brilliant. All in all, this gym as a whole lacks care and unfortunately doesn't live up to its advertisement of a "wellbeing" gym.

Fantastic experience: Nuffield Wokingham is a wonderful and clean gym, with the upmost friendly staff who offer their support when needed. The entire gym is kept clean and tidy on a regular basis. The machines and free weights are always neatly organised. The swimming pool is always organised efficiently without over crowding. It’s an overall great gym with an amazing vibe.

Positive experience: Nice clean facilities. Pool is rarely full and you can normally get a lane to yourself. It’s a shame the jacuzzi is closed permanently.

Fantastic experience: Perfect smaller gym, it’s never overly busy, so getting a machine is always easy. Super friendly and helpful staff and a nice range of people. I have been a member of this gym for over 2 years, and especially love Andy’s and Frankie’s spinning classes!!

Positive experience: Nuffield has great instructors, classes and sense of community. It’s always friendly and welcoming when you go in. The instructors are passionate and there is a really good range of classes available throughout the day and evening. The issue comes with the general quality of equipment and building. It’s well past its prime and it needs significant investment to justify the membership prices. The jacuzzi, beauty salon and crèche have now closed. The free parking is a great plus but the carpark is currently being refurbished and it can be hard to get a space at certain times of the day.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Nuffield Wokingham for a year now, and I absolutely adore it. It’s everything I need (sauna, gym, pool), and it doesn’t feel as lad-y as Pure Gym. The facilities are great, it’s a great location, and the free parking is definitely a plus. Would recommend for anyone looking for a gym in the Wokingham/Crowthorne area.

Fantastic experience: Recently re-joined, mainly for swimming, as the pool is great - and importantly for me (as someone who detests using communal facilities), the pool and changing room areas are spotlessly clean and well appointed. Not least, Ben and all the staff are very welcoming and helpful, which adds to the overall experience. Definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Terrible service, very bad experience asking questions to my 8 years old that obviously could not answer. I wonder if the person had a safeguard either. This is not unacceptable. In addition the facilities is ran down and most of the equipment does not work.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Wokingham since August 2022. I use the pool and attend a couple of classes. I have had a very good experience there - the facilities and the staff. The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly, professional and supportive. I haven't felt at all intimidated. There are frequent offers for guests which I have made use of by taking my husband along with me. Overall it's an excellent place to go to keep fit and healthy.

Positive experience: I have been a member of this gym for many years. A large selection of classes (mainly Les Mills stuff - if you like that sort of thing), but also spin, pilates, yoga and some HIIT/gym floor sessions. The staff and fitness instructors are all lovely. Separate swimming pool for children which is nice and warm. Overall a welcoming and inclusive gym with fitness and wellbeing options for all.

Fantastic experience: Having been a member for a few weeks I can honestly say this is the best gym I've been a member of and a true level above where I've been before. The gym itself has fantastic facilities and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. 10/10.

Fantastic experience: Good facilities for Cardio and Training. No need to queue for any equipment. Members are generally very cautious of cleaning and using wipes to clean up equipment after use. Recently they have water filters fitted that is a good facility. I often use swimming pool, steam and sauna for a change. Overall I’m very pleased with staff and facilities.
