Fantastic experience: Step class is so fun and upbeat! It’s a great way to exercise and have fun at the same time. Kit is so encouraging when teaching and keeps the class going throughout. Would definitely recommend this class!

Negative experience: The toilets are vile/disgusting every time I visit. Some of the worst I’ve ever seen.

Negative experience: Too many kids allowed I’m there to train, they get in the way messing anout with their phones, also absolutely no gym etiquette, equipment good but you really need to pick your moments if you want to train properly, peak hours a total waste of time., like a youth club more than a gym.

Negative experience: Not new news but needs to start being some control and communication in this gym. No wonder school kids and others don’t take it seriously. Please please move glute bridge machine, I know this isn’t me just thinking this. As if it wasn’t worse enough thrusting in front of testosterone fuelled men, there’s now a bench literally 30cm in front? Why not move it sideways or backwards? So simple. Very close to cancelling membership.

Negative experience: The two stars are for the fact that yes being able to use a gym 24/7 is great and they have put a lot of work into the app, however they really need to expand and build another gym in between ashford and Maidstone. I live right in between that and have to travel 20 mins to a more than just over crowded gym for its very small size. Lowest count is at around 50 people even after 11pm!! all i ever get to use is the treadmill and rowing machine. And all the equipment is so close together you really feel like there is no personal bubble. Makes me feel very uncomfortable. Had to cancel my membership.

Negative experience: This is the busiest & messiest gym I have ever been to. It is absolutely full of school kids, meaning there are often no lockers available, a queue for machines, benches and weights. Recently the parking validation machine has not been working.

Fantastic experience: Warm friendly atmosphere, clean and tidy and in the day always someone there to help you if needed

Fantastic experience: I visit puregym most days, great gym with nice friendly staff. Only thing I would say is be careful what time you attend as there sometimes can be a big influx of school kids who seem to just stand around and look at their phones.

Negative experience: Not coming again. They refuse to provide the police with cctv after been assaulted at the gym.

Positive experience: Visited Puregym Maidstone Sunday afternoon as was working in the area. Good selection of equipment, however. It was very dirty Water station had filth all around them. But the most disgusting aspect was the male toilets. Urine and faeces mixed with tissue on the floor. Looked like It had not been cleaned in some time.

Fantastic experience: I have been using PureGym now for over 10mths, it has always had a friendly atmosphere and staff are great, a good selection of gym equipment and most of the time have been able to access the equipment when I've needed to.

Positive experience: For those visiting, the Google directions take you to an entrance to the mall on the opposite side from the gym. You will get there more quickly if you put "King Steet" in. The gym is smaller than most PureGyms that I have been to.

Positive experience: Seriously guys it is impossible to work out in your gym. Just chaos. No one removes the weights after training, people sit on the machines for hours and click on the phone, there is no space, each machine is in a single copy... Do you have staff at the gym? They must somehow communicate with people, explain to them how to behave...

Negative experience: Small gym compared to the Chatham one. Equipment is crowded. In my experience 95% of the times I found the equipments in their original place and not lying around somewhere. However, is overcrowded most of the times, whether it's 7AM or 1PM, let alone 6pm. You got a tiny 2-3 hr window a day where you can say it's ok. Around 2pm it gets overly busy with school kids who visibly just hit puberty, they are taking over an equipment and use the gym to socialise amongst themselves forever without letting others get anywhere near it. How are they even allowed in there?? Most of the times (the adults) are quite civilised, except the odd few that clearly grew up in the jungle and are spitting on the cleaning station Would I recommend? Probably not. I wouldn't be going here if this wasn't close to me. Never had these issues with the one in Chatham, I used to go there. I hope someone monitors these comments and takes some action.

Positive experience: The gym is large, clean, intelligently laid out, well stocked and well-enough equiped. However, there's always equipment left lying around as a hazzard or plates still on barbells etc. This ties in with the next major problem and that is that such a large and open gym is barely staffed and if you were able to see one then she would unlikely be engaging with members or even taking interest in the people and goings on of the place. If this were the case, it would create a better rapport with members and give the place a heartbeat - there is none of this here but, instead, a soulless franchise straight out of the box. Somebody there should keep an eye out for equipment slouches and at least kindly steer them to put it back with refusers and repeat offenders penalised; I left 'Snap Fitness' for these reasons and am on the verge of doing the same here. In view of all this, an average rating is fair

Negative experience: before joining, do consider the following things, 1) extremely crowded 2) only 2 flat bench press for the whole gym 3) only 1 lat pull down for the whole gym 4) only 1 seated rows for the whole gym 5) only 2 smith machines for the whole gym 6) no ethics in the crowd to share between sets 7) unstaffed hours to regulate basic gym ethics among the crowd 8) poor ventilation in free weight area 9) no tissue papers available in few of the cleaning station 10) sanitizer spray is available only in the central cleaning station This gym is seriously crowded with minimum equipment per person, Strongly recommend not to join this one if you are going to workout in peak hours. on the other hand, I must say this is one of the affordable and acceptable gym for off-peak hours only.

Fantastic experience: Im unsure why this gym gets such bad reviews. I joined on an off peak membership over 2 months ago and not once has it been overly packed. It can get busy between 5-7pm each day but other than that, I havent found it noticeable. Staff seem nice although I dont go for the classes, its nice to see them about so theres help if its needed. Only complaint is there definitely isnt any age checks being enforced, theres definitely under 16s that get in there.

Positive experience: It’s an ok gym, has all the facilities but is pretty small, not much is available if you come when it’s busy. Ventilation in this place needs improvement, so do the changing rooms and I didn’t feel comfortable using anything in there as it all seemed dirty.

Positive experience: Bit busy got on the equipment i wanted so can't grumble plus very cheap to join

Negative experience: The machines were a little to close to each other, felt cramped. I have no problem with it being busy, but just felt like I had no room at all. Tunbridge Wells PureGym got you beat all day, sorry.

Negative experience: Pure gym is the Primark of all gyms. I’ve seen sweatshops that are less crowed than this gym. You get what you pay for here. It’s cheap, but good luck getting on anything unless you go at 1am

Positive experience: Only been twice so far, what to do to get the free parking is not obvious on the website nor in the gym itself. But as it turns out it is straightforward enough. There is an iPad style device attached to a pillar where you put in your car registration number, then select two hours, that's it. The gym is clean and tidy with lots of equipment, it's very popular, and the cheapest gym around.

Positive experience: It’s a good clean gym with lots of equipment. However it is always too busy during the day and you need to use it late in the evening if you want to guarantee getting on the machines you need.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for 6 months. Staff very polite and always say hi and willing to help you out. Lots of different equipment for every level.

Negative experience: Toilets are dirty and smelly , place looks like cleaners only clean some areas and not touch others for ages.

Negative experience: Gym members seem to be able to walk up down the vehicles only exit tunnel from the mall rooftop car park, with no regard to the fact that they are putting themselves at risk of being knocked down. There are enough saying there is NO PEDESTRIAN ACCESS . Is this dangerous practice included in the membership?

Positive experience: The reason I gave my 4 star review is because of the following: “It's impossible to go after work, as at this time it attracts a younger audience who crowd around equipment in groups. It can feel quite intimidating. The only option is to go very early before work which isn't sustainable long term.” This is a recurring thing in your reviews, please at least take into consideration what is said, because it is quite intimidating, especially for women.

Fantastic experience: As anyone familiar with my reviews on here will know, I am very critical of most Pure Gym locations. Usually because of lack of cleaning, poor staff attitude and members leaving their weights everywhere. Very happy to say that the Maidstone location doesn’t seem to suffer from these issues. Staff were cleaning and tidying the whole time I was in there today and in an absolute first for a Pure Gym, the dumbbells were all exactly where they were supposed to be. Regional Managers take note, visit Maidstone to see how these gyms are meant to be run. The “Lifters Code” made me laugh too, Recommended

Negative experience: It's more like a local high school than an actual gym. Kids as young as 11 FLOOD the gym as soon as schools out and by 4pm they are so high in numbers you have a full blown rush hour and it's hard to use any machines..., get used to finally getting on a machine and having like 3 people come up and ask you how many sets you have left.. and forget about using popular pieces of equipment like the bench press either. around 5pm you've got the normal people who have just arrived from work so you get 2 rush hours combined into one till around 6pm when the school rush finally dies, but the 9 to 5'ers cause their own rush hour and pack out the machines till like 10pm so unless you are able to use the gym after 10pm or before 3pm you probably won't have the greatest of experiences...

Positive experience: When I first joined pure gym I loved it but recently over the last 6 months or so it has got so busy. It's impossible to go after work, as at this time it attracts a younger audience who crowd around equipment in groups. It can feel quite intimidating. The only option is to go very early before work which isn't sustainable long term. The only reason I was staying at pure gym was for Graz's combat and spin classes but as she's leaving and these won't continue I'll be looking for another gym that can accommodate busy hours. Pure gym should really look into extending into the empty space below their unit, it's a very popular gym so surely would be worth it?

Positive experience: Joined, the first time I had to go in to meet to discuss disabled access the person never showed up. I went again and had my meeting. Went on the bus last week and the lift was out of order with no idea when it was going to be fixed. I didn't see anything on their socials about the broken lift to save disabled people the trip. So I have stopped my membership it's good on theory being a cheaper gym but I definitely don't feel like they're very disabled friendly or well thought out. You can't contact anyone by phone.

Positive experience: Nice gym with a good range of equipment at a reasonable price. However, due to the price it does attract a younger clientele and they will turn up in groups of 4 or 5. They can also be quite loud and crowd equipment which could be intimidating for some people. Avoid going between 14:30 - 19:00 if you want to avoid this crowd and if you don’t like it when it’s really busy. Great staff and plenty of cleaning stations.

Fantastic experience: Great Gym! I always get confused where to park and end up parking over the road frommthe street doors. You just have to go in the multi-story near to Sainsbury's and you get 2 hours free!

Negative experience: Overcrowded. Not enough equipment. Loads of fashion competitors and kids who come to shoot photos, chat, play on smartphones and occupie machines. Men's changing room smells horrible. You just enter and feel rotten eggs. Let's try CORE gym next month. Peace

Fantastic experience: Pure Gym is terrific. It has 24 hour access. Loads of new and well maintained equipment in a spotlessly clean space. Different membership plans that start at £14.99 with add-ons so you just pay for what you want. And super helpful and friendly staff. Did I mention how clean it is?

Positive experience: Well priced, well situated and that's about it. Besides cables constantly broken the past few months - you'd think there'd be spares or quickly replaced. I ended up buying my own barbell clips and rope attachment because the gym's is either scarce or broken/ropey (pun intended) With the few cable stacks remaining people think it's a brilliant idea to take up multiple during peak hours instead of utilise attachments at the same cable. Inconsiderate habits with no staff or management keeping people using the equipment efficiently. Barely any staff in the gym let alone doing walk arounds ensuring the hordes of young people (and some older) are using equipment effectively and more importantly safely. Staff that are there are on their phones at the front desk or doing classes. Be good to stop groups of 3-5 young lads hogging bits of equipment only to do sets of 3 at weight they can't handle because they haven't been shown how to use equipment properly. Or stop people from leaving their weights on equipment when they're finished or stop people from lifting weights right in front of the racks of dumbbells, or stop people from using both entrance pods when people are trying to leave and vice versa. Men's loos are pretty disgusting most visits. Soap dispenser was broken for much longer than it needed to be.l recently. Why not just order a replacement and screw it in the wall? Shouldn't take weeks, only to be taped up! Could do with less benches near the weight area, remove some treadmills and a couple bikes and get in more cables or different machines like hack squat/viking press and another Smith machine. Besides the last bit about different equipment, everything else can be easily fixed with some attentive management and would make this place a four star gym. It's all the little cracks that start to show after over a year's membership that make you resent paying a fee. Edit 09.08.22 They've replaced management (or the others had left) and staff turnover seemed to be high with a few new faces for a couple months but seems settled now. More attachments for cable machines which is great and when there has been damaged or out of action equipment PureGym has been noticeably quick to repair or replace parts. Upgraded my review to a 3/5 from 2/5 and will continue to monitor.

Positive experience: Good quality and range of equipment. During peak times the gym has a high number of members in attendance that appear to be under the age of 16 without adult supervision. Additionally, these members work out in large groups of 5-6 therefore it can take up to 15-20 minutes to get access to just one piece of equipment.

Positive experience: Good facilities and good atmosphere, but without a doubt consistently the warmest and stuffiest gym I've ever been in. I've worked and trained in gyms for almost 10 years now and, the air con being completely broken aside, I've never been in one that's consistently so hot. Friend who I train with completely agrees and I've heard and spoken to others who feel the same way too. I tend to mostly do resistance training within the gym but doing high intensity cardio must be unbearable, especially when the gym is busy and it gets even more hot and stuffy. Mentioned to staff a couple of times and have been told it's set to 18.5 degrees. That may be the case, although having worked with air con in gyms myself I know that the actual air mode makes a difference too - 18.5 on cooling will feel completely different to 18.5 on heat, for example, but then the fan speed must also be on the lowest possible output at almost all times to the point where the air coming out is negligible, because more often than not even standing under/around the air con units it seems there's next to nothing coming out and I can certainly never audibly hear it functioning.

Positive experience: Very average gym in all honesty. I thought the app head-counting was an appealing notion but rarely seems accurate. Staff give off a 'business environment' impression rather than welcoming and encouraging. I've been going to different gyms for a while now so its not something that phases me but for someone who's looking for quality and fun I wouldn't join puregym. It's sterile and probably at best practical if you already know what you're doing

Negative experience: Busiest gym I’ve ever been to. Been a member for 2 months and its gotten busier by the week. Today there was a queue of 2-3 people for every machine which is a bit of a joke - according to their app the gym was only 50% full… I used one machine in 30mins and then gave up, cancelled my membership and left. A shame really because it’s a nice, new clean gym, but if you can’t use any of it then unfortunately it’s a waste of money.

Positive experience: Lovely gym staff friendly nice atmosphere. Only thing is there is only 1 set of 5kg dumbbells which is frustrating. Because if someone is using and on phone for example you have to wair around for them to finish. And if you ask the wrong person it could cause an argument to which you don't want as you go their to destress and relax. Can get very busy at times so best to get there early but the app is is good because at least you can check. Would give 5 stars but haven't only because of not having more 5kg dumbbells. But I would recommend this gym hopefully they will get more
