Fantastic experience: spa facilities are excellent, restaurant is excellent, gym is OK but the classes make up for it. All the staff are great and super friendly. Best classes are the Blaze classes and the best instructor is Maddi!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic team at David Loyd. Special thankyou to Ian for helping me with my myzone. Finding and keeping my Battery charger for me. Helping me with all the new fabulous Egym equipment. Enabling me to build on my weights, strength, flexibility and push me further with my work outs. And achieving my goals. All the team are so welcoming and friendly. They can’t help you enough. Such a fabulous place with the best people.The instructors are phenomenal at motivating you and pushing you further to achieve and reach your goals. From tennis open sessions with great support off Richard and Stan. Vicky and Maddie are what everyone needs on a Monday morning in blaze to kick start the day/week . Michelle in Pilates keeps it upbeat and enjoyable. Padel is the best and most sociable sport. With a thriving community. It’s not just a gym it’s a place we all love to socialise with the best people and the spa is the greatest escape to wind down after a working week!

Negative experience: Don't waste your time or money! Lots of facilities are not in use, and the online customer service is terrible! Overpriced and underwhelmed! You have replied to my review but not to 2 of my emails or my app messages! You have confirmed to me that your customer service care, is non existent! Shame on you David Lloyd.

Negative experience: What happened to this gym, used to be good and clean, now a rip off and dirty. People don't pay a premium price for the Jacuzzi and plunge pool to be closed 1/4 of the year. And for the changing rooms to be a mess.

Fantastic experience: We attended David Lloyd’s annual kids Halloween party…. And Wow it did not disappoint. The kids enjoyed it so much! It had everything from dancing, Photo Booth, dinosaurs, games. The kids team Mia, Ellie, Zay, Libby, Farah, and Sarah go all out! Loved their costumes and how much energy they bring! And also all the team and staff behind the bar and services they looked fab in their costumes too! thanks for a great night!

Fantastic experience: Our family have been members for some time now and the club is great. In particular the DL Kids team (especially Mia) who are all absolutely fantastic with our daughter. We’ve all enjoyed the Halloween party tonight where the effort put in by all involved made sure that all the kids had an absolutely fantastic time!

Negative experience: I cannot at all recommend this establishment. If you have an issue the management are poor to respond, both in time and in calibre. One in particular (Paul) seems to think he is God’s gift to humanity. Parking is regularly difficult, the gym equipment is like anywhere else, the recovery equipment (Normatec boots, various pressure vibrational guns) go missing for weeks at time, the spa is delightful but very often segments are not working. Presently it is the cold plunge and main jacuzzi, a few weeks ago it was the main sauna. The tennis courts and the like are fun and fine, and the league useful if you’re of that persuasion, and the regular (non management) staff are always cheery. Apart from reception desk - this is so very mixed - asking for a towel is sometimes like Oliver Twist daring to asking for more! I am due to leave; beware if you join on the 2nd or 3rd of the month onwards as you must complete a full 12 months of membership!!! 11 months and 28 days did not cut it for me, so it’s another circa £200 pcm to wait 20 mins for a car park space, 10-20 mins for a lane at the pool, and then tolerate various folk in the spa taking phone calls and playing instatok videos en masse for the world to hear. Such a shame! But marketing for new membership acquisition seems to be the driving force.

Fantastic experience: I’ve visited this david lloyd many times now. I am not one to write reviews, however what stands out to me most is how lovely the staff are. Specifically the bar staff are so lovely to the extent I had to leave a review! Fantastic experience: On my most recent visit to the clubroom at David Lloyd, Cheadle, I had the pleasure of being serviced by Jordan. He is a well-mannered and polite member of staff who made sure that my every need was catered to. I was hungry and he recommended the cajun chicken and mango salad which was delicious. I left feeling very full and satisfied and hope to encounter him again very soon for more of the same. He truly is an asset to the team.

Positive experience: Visiting from Bristol. Staff are really helpful, changing rooms have lots of space and food is good. Some of the equipment could do with some TLC (leather cracked/machines a old). Loved the SPA area - enjoyed trying the plunge pool and ice room .

Fantastic experience: Kids club @david Lloyd has been a game changer for us as members , our daughter recently turned 3 which made her eligible for the DL kids 3-5 play groups. She LOVES them and we do too as we’re now able to enjoy the facilities together as a couple. First and foremost I am happy how secure it is (kids are dropped at the studio door with only staff and kids allowed to go in ) secondly how creative the staff are with the children , imaginative play - visiting the airport and creating passports , making butterflies with toilet roll tubes and paper, drawing/ colouring in leaves and acorns for autumn. This is keeping us there as members! Big thank you to Mia, Libby and Kayla for taking care of our little one & making it so much fun for our DL kids

Positive experience: We are a family of 3 and were renewing our membership but switching from gymflex to paying directly to the club. We had been trying for 1 month and our enquiries via the app/email were going unanswered. It got to the end of our membership with no response. The team at the desk also left a message to the membership team however were otherwise unable to help. I saw Callum walking through the club and asked for his help (he had showed us around and signed us up a year ago). He was kind, professional and effective. He sorted the issue for us. We would have left DL without seeing Callum that day despite trying to stay. We still haven’t received any replies to our emails/app messages to the customer services/membership team. Fantastic experience: I’ve been training intensively for a half marathon, and the constant aches have been a challenge. Steph’s sports massages have been an absolute game-changer for my recovery. She’s knowledgeable, attentive, and her treatments have really helped me stay on track with my training. Highly recommend for anyone looking to speed up their recovery and feel their best!

Fantastic experience: This review is specifically for Catherine the swimming co-ordinator. My daughter has been having lessons with Catherine for a few months and I think Catherine is possibly one of the best teachers (not just swimming teachers) I've seen in action. It's one thing being good at the thing you teach, quite another to also be great with young children. Letting your non-swimming child into the water with someone else to start lessons feels odd, but Catherine made everything incredible easy. She's lovely with all the children, is calm (which makes me calm) and is just an excellent teacher / coach. My daughter is now so confident with her swimming and absolutely loves being in the water. Fantastic experience: Visited this club today for the first time. I was very impressed with the staff member Ian who was great help as he showed me around the clubs different equipment and recourses which my usual club does not have. Would make this review a 6/5 if I could!! :)

Positive experience: Love this gym but a couple of the reception staff make you feel unwelcome. One receptionist eventually answered my question the other day without even once looking up from her phone.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined with my wife. We've been members of a few other gyms and were looking for somewhere that offered more. We met Sophie for a tour and she was brilliant - answering all our questions and taking time. We joined and have since gone all in with the superb facilities on offer on our first visit. The gym is spavious and well equiped - I added some functional sled pushing to my leg day and then used the spa. Saunas, steam rooms (I didn't brave the plunge pool but my wife did. She's well hard) hydro massage and relaxation room. Then we went dor a swim. It feels like being on holiday. While there were families with children there (it's great for them) it still felt like an adult-friendly space. The whole atmosphere is positive.

Negative experience: One of the worst customer experiences I have ever encountered - went in to use a guest pass with a member who has been there over 20 years, and was refused entry given a new policy introduced a few weeks ago despite the club being empty. The GM "Warren" came over to speak to us with a mouth half full of his breakfast and was appallingly rude. Not a prestigious club and customer service is dreadful. The most unprofessional GM I've ever come across. David Lloyd need to review the way Management interact and engage with loyal and long standing members.

Fantastic experience: Was slightly hesitant in joining initially but so glad we did! The club stays true to offering a health and well-being proposition - it’s not just a gym. The facilities are excellent, Spa is equivalent to a premium+ hotel and above. The range of classes is great. The app makes booking classes and creating a routine very convenient. Would highly recommend. A special mention for Sophie, David Lloyd Sales Manager, who has been exceptional from the moment we booked in for a tour all the way to us joining and settling in afterwards. Highly professional and welcoming. The customer experience is great.

Negative experience: From my personal experience, David Lloyd Cheadle fails spectacularly in delivering even a modest level of service expected from a premium fitness club. The lack of parking spaces is an ongoing nightmare, forcing members to waste valuable time circling the lot or parking far away. This blatant disregard for member convenience is only the tip of the iceberg. The staff at David Lloyd Cheadle are notably insensitive and display a striking lack of focus on member comfort. It's clear that their primary concern is not the well-being of current members, but rather a relentless push to recruit new ones, likely to meet corporate targets and maximize profits. The result is a cold, impersonal atmosphere where existing members feel like mere afterthoughts. The emphasis on expansion over quality is evident. From overcrowded areas, it’s obvious that member satisfaction is not a priority. This club's priorities are glaringly misaligned with the needs of its members.

Negative experience: Very very poor. I was turned away from the car park this morning after being told that the car park was full. This is not the first time, and certainly is not good enough when the club charges so much. They are still showing potential new customers round, despite the fact they clearly cannot cope with the ones they already have. The club is dirty, the indoor spa often has plasters and chewing gum around the sides that are not moved for days, and the cafe area is disgusting. Bits of food are all over the floor, tables are not wiped and staff just leave plates for ages before clearing them. The club is going down hill and is far too oversubscribed, seriously thinking about leaving. What a disappointment!!!

Fantastic experience: Me and my wife went to David Lloyd in Cheadle and got the spa pass for the day, it was so relaxing and so many great options honestly it has something for everyone definitely recommend and the manager Ian is so welcoming and knowledgeable he made the experience so much more worthwhile we would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Negative experience: As a member for more than 15 years I plan to leave shortly simply because of the mismanagement of parking. The club has already sacrificed tennis courts for parking, and even then chases subscriptions to the extent that existing long time members can no longer enjoy the facilities because of lack of parking. If you are thinking of joining - don’t. Unless you plan on walking.

Negative experience: I have been a member at David Lloyd’s for several months now and would like to leave an honest review. The cleanliness in this facility is rather poor with dirty, bloody plasters littered around the jacuzzi in the spa retreat and in changing rooms. On almost every occasion i have visited, the women’s changing rooms and the spa area are littered with all sorts, hair in shower drains found..etc. I have used the family changing room once, and the stench was awful. The main pool is clean however, and I have witnessed many times the staff thoroughly scrubbing the floor. I attended this evening, and for the 3rd time now, have a wound on my leg from something sharp at the bottom of the pool in the spa area. The health and safety of members should be paramount, but sadly this does not seem to be the case. Major improvements need to be underway, as from discussions with other members too, has led me to leave this review. One last point, please update the lockers!!! Many less extortionate gyms have the electronic locks that use a wrist band to lock- unlock on lockers.

Fantastic experience: We had the most wonderful Easter breakfast at David Lloyd’s Cheadle this past Easter! From the moment we walked in, the staff made sure our experience was top-notch. Meeting the Easter Bunny was the highlight for our youngest, who hasn't stopped talking about it since. Our oldest had a blast at the dance party, really bringing out the festive spirit, while the variety and taste of the food completely won over our middle child. Every part of the event was perfectly orchestrated by the incredible staff. Their attention to detail, enthusiasm, and professionalism made our family's experience memorable.
