At allGym we don’t just welcome everyone, we work with members to arm them with knowledge, help them gain a better understanding of health and fitness and give them the tools they need. 


So many people aren’t sure what to do in the gym and almost as many feel like they’re the odd one out. We’re here to tell you that at allGym:

Negative experience: Hidden Fees & Outdated Equipment ⭐☆☆☆☆ Got charged after I left—no contract, just a surprise “30-day notice” rule. Machines are old and poorly maintained. Not worth it.

Your review contains multiple inaccuracies. Since we opened in January 2020, a 30-day notice period has applied to all memberships. This is clearly stated on the membership package page on all no contract memberships, in the sign-up process (where you must tick a box confirming you've read it), and in our Terms and Conditions, which have remained consistent since day one. This is also a standard process for any gym.

There are no hidden fees, just clear information that many of our members read and understand before joining.

Regarding the equipment: while some pieces are older, they’re well maintained, something we’re regularly complimented on. And for full transparency, we’ve already committed over £250k to new kit which has been communicated to members in multiple emails. By early October, we’ll have a brand-new cardio suite, Hammer Strength plate-loaded zone, upgraded strength equipment, and saunas in both changing rooms.

We’ll continue focusing on improvements and facts.. not fiction.

Fantastic experience: Been a member of AllGym for years and cannot recommend it enough. The staff are second to none, always on hand for support - whether that’s a general chat, form advice or help with spotting. Sarah and Graeme are absolute angels, and are such a credit to the gym. You can tell they care so much about the clients and really make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The gym itself is huge, has a massive variety of equipment / weights / machines and is constantly improving itself. They just smash it out the park everytime with every upgrade. The new sound system is insane and the playlists just get better and better. It’s just one of them places you can walk in alone and leave with new mates. Everyone’s dead friendly and respectful. Even the majority of the clients are more than happy to help / spot / give advice if asked. I’ve made so many friends that I wouldn’t have, if I hadn’t joined AllGym. Excited to see where the future takes it

Fantastic experience: I don’t really have a bad word to say about this gym or the staff working here. They are the most friendliest bunch of people you can meet always trying to help in which ever way they can. The gym is clean and organised and has every bit of equipment you can think of, the fact that’s it’s one of the cheapest gyms about is Evan better. I cannot recommend this place any more it’s absolutely brilliant with a brilliant bunch of staff. The refurb is outstanding and I cannot wait till it’s all finished

Fantastic experience: The support & encouragement from all the staff at The All Gym is honestly fantastic. They go above and beyond to help and always make you feel welcome. I’ve been to other places where I’ve felt so out of place, not comfortable and wanted to leave, but not here. The staff who help run the gym day to day as well as the great fitness instructors are all genuinely there to help and guide you feel the best version of yourself. I cannot recommend them highly enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Negative experience: I usually don’t leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, my time with sara at allgym was disappointing due to their unprofessional behavior. They were frequently dismissive, rude when addressed with questions, and at times, made inappropriate or sarcastic remarks that made the environment uncomfortable.

Negative experience: I can’t put into words how angry I am. I went to this gym for a while and everything was fine until I froze my membership and payments were still being taken from my bank account , I raised this issue a few times and still payments were being taken from my bank. So I cancelled my membership (which was challenging in itself) and I was told to make one final payment which I happily paid for in January. However a few days ago my bank informed me a payment had been taken again! I’ve messaged the gym on Instagram to which I’ve had no response and have been ignored multiple times. Extremely unhappy and would not recommend it feels like a money trap. I will try and get this issue sorted tomorrow at the bank!

After looking into your case personally, I can see that the issue came down to the fact that we did not receive a cancellation request or any of the messages you had sent via social media. However, I do want to thank you for sharing the screenshots, as this allowed me to investigate further.⁣⁣

In the five years we’ve been operating, this is the first time we’ve seen messages sent to us not appear in our social media inbox. We actively monitor and respond to messages through the Meta Business Suite, which consolidates all social messages in one place, so it’s unusual for them to have gone unseen. While technical issues can happen occasionally, they are rare, and I appreciate you flagging this so we can be even more vigilant moving forward.⁣⁣

I do also want to clarify that your first emails to us on 3rd January 2025 regarding cancellation received quick responses from our team, advising that we require the cancellation request form to be submitted via the website. You then successfully submitted the cancellation request at 3:15 PM that same day, and it was processed that evening within an hour of the person dealing with it starting their shift.⁣⁣

The cancellation process via our website or app is one of the simplest I’ve known in my time in the industry:⁣⁣
1. Select ‘Contact Us’⁣⁣
2. Choose ‘Cancellation’ from the dropdown menu⁣⁣
3. Complete the 30–45 second form⁣⁣
Once that is done, members receive an email confirming the cancellation and the 30-day notice period, which applies to all monthly memberships—a standard policy across gyms. This means that one final payment is taken. This process worked exactly as intended in your case.⁣⁣
The only issue with your experience was the incorrect charge of 89p, which should not have been applied. As soon as we became aware of it, we refunded the 89p, along with an additional £24.99 refund for January as a goodwill gesture. This was also due to the fact that I can see you asked for 2 months freeze and not 1 so please accept our apologies for that.⁣⁣
Anyone who joins allGym will experience how easy and straightforward it is to join, freeze, and cancel a membership. We are here to create the best experience for our members, and that’s what we work towards every single day. I’m happy we were able to resolve this for you, and I genuinely appreciate the positive comments you shared in your cancellation request and our email exchanges.⁣⁣

Fantastic experience: Just joined, the facilities are far bigger than in One Gym and cheaper. Love it here and the staff are awesome. Better shower facilities, sizeable changing area. Plenty of equipment to use and facilities for 'womens only' training. Personnal trainers are awesome and supportive. You do need to install their allgym app to get the gates open. But it's easy to understand. Though there is no steam room, wjich is a dissapointment, they do have a tanning salon. Plenty of parking outside and it's near my favourite greasy spoon the Pit Stop.. What? Gotta get my protein somewhere

Hi Lee, thanks for the review. You could be offered the use of a Ferrari, it’s your choice whether to sit in it with the engine off and make brum brum noises or to start it up and put your foot down.Anyone who has been to our club will know that we have a vast amount of state of the art equipment, (possibly the most for any low cost gym in Teesside) massive free weight zone, plate loaded and pin loaded machines, large cardio zone, large functional and boxing facilities, main studio, spin studio, ladies only gym. We have members ranging from first time gym users to seasoned bodybuilding athletes. The facilities are state of the art, it’s what you make of them that makes the difference to what you achieve. Like everything in life the gym is what you make of it. If you choose to discuss your woes instead of making use of facilities that provide everything you need to achieve your fitness goals, that’s down to your focus and mindset.

Fantastic experience: Great gym ,great prices ,great staff. Gets what you need doing done. Some things scattered around but apart from that it’s got plenty of equipment and friendly gym goers. One point to make is that the bike rack in the far right corner of the car park is over grown and could be cleaned up to give cyclists more space to lock up bikes. Apart from that it’s a great gym.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym in 2021 and had to take a break in 2022 due to personal circumstances. I recently re joined and I always find it nice to come to. The staff are always really helpful, the app is easy to use and there are a lot of facilities and classes available. I had a really bad experience with the previous chain that was at these premises a few years ago that left me really anxious put me off going to the gym for a long time, but the staff at allgym have definitely turned that around for me. My only note would be there isn't notice given of the equipment being moved at the moment, so it's difficult to know what equipment will be out of service in order to plan my workout, but I know this is temporary

Positive experience: Been a member here for a while now and was a member at the previous exercise4less and thank god allgym took over because it got the update it so badly needed. The gym is very clean as are the changing rooms with plenty of locker space too, just bring a padlock with you to lock it. The machines are in good order and the gym has clearly had a fortune spent on it. The staff are very friendly and approachable with excellent fitness knowledge. Access to the gym is fairly easy from thornaby and stockton with the A66 being right nearby too. Parking is plentiful with a couple of disabled bays right near the doors and they are fully disabled friendly too. My only gripe would be that the gym can get pretty warm and could do with the aircon being switched on or turned up a little at peak times but all in all its an excellent gym with great gym culture and I would and have recommended to many people.

Fantastic experience: Blown away by the team at allGym, especially Chavin. I got seriously ill and during recovery knew I needed to exercise. Chavin took the time to ensure my needs were met and designed a program for me to help with my recovery. He checks in with me and is always on hand if I need help whilst I’m there. Such a great service. They don’t just try and get numbers on their books they actually care about their customers. Thank you.

Negative experience: Price increased without my knowledge and when I asked they turned around and said that they've sent emails to all gym members about the Price increase which I never received and I was told that the reason I didn't receive the email might be because of an technical error. I asked for the reason for Price increase, I was told that they had to get the air conditioning sorted out and repair their equipment.

A condition of the price change was that all members have the option not to renew their membership.The price change was not due to the installation of air conditioning so we can only apologise for this misinformation. The air conditioning being installed throughout the building will provide heating and cooling, covering the full 30,000 square foot of space and is part of a £250,000 investment which is going to include new equipment and other additions to the facilities.As communicated in the email we sent out to all members, the price change is simply to bring our pricing in-line with current market value. At £16.99 per month and £21.99 per month our memberships offer exceptional value for money, with the range of facilities and equipment, space, fitness zones and support from our friendly and dedicated team.If you did not receive the email this was not due to a technical error so we apologise if this is what you were advised. Could you please speak to a member of our management team to verify your account with us and confirm your email address. This will be helpful because after checking our system we have only 1 member matching the surname Ilyas. We have a record that an email was sent and delivered to the email address registered on that account.We believe in giving our members the freedom of choice at all times so if you disagree with the price change we are more than happy to refund the additional £2 from the increase and offer you the option to cancel your gym membership. As a valued member of our club, allGym would like to extend a big thank you to your continued support. Negative experience: Having previously been a member at allgym in 2019 pre covid, and loved it I thought I would return to the friendly gym! I returned in November 2021, the gym was starting to get busier than usual but all was good! Fast forward to July 2022 - I am now no longer a member due to issuing a complaint regarding 2 Separate incidents that have taken place not even 2 weeks apart where 2 members have approached me while I was completing an shoulder workout wearing headphones that clearly can be seen! In these incidents I had been told that women should not lift weights, we as women can not do it correctly nor should we be lifting heavy weights. I was then also told to only eat salad, chicken, tuna and eggs and attend the classes to make me loose my fat! - this was all while completing a shoulder workout just remember that! This member does not know me, or anything about me. I’m leaving the gym feeling rather upset and uncomfortable no staff where around to report this too, I sent an email at 9.20am on the 14th July! I am yet to receive any response to my complaint and membership cancellation! But my sister has who was not involved in the incidents but decided she does not want to attend a gym where members insult other members! The response from management was that they will look into her complaint, they haven’t received mine yet we emailed the same email, and they are opening a womens section! Why should I have to go into a womens only section because I have been insulted by male members. I know members are not the gyms responsibility but the gym have an overall duty to make sure members are respectful at all times! They wouldn’t allow members to insult staff so why is it ok for a member to insult another paying member! I will not be returning to this gym, and can confirm the actions and the actions of no response from the gym has left me questioning if I ever can enter another gym again! I’m putting this out to women who struggle to train alone, I don’t recommend training alone in this gym on a morning, you could at risk of being approached and insulted too.

Negative experience: I am utterly shocked about what has been happening this month at the gym I have been approached many times and feel targeted by one of the staff/worker middle aged women who occasionally has glasses on always making me and my friends uncomfortable in what I assumed was a safe gym environment she has tried to ban my account and my fellow friends for using studio equipment such as the ball we were lifting weights while using it she had said (I’m sick of people like you always touching the other equipment) I was utterly lost for words and could not believe what I had heard this is not the first of this occasion it’s always us that is getting targeted by this one individual the rest of the staff are fantastic and extremely friendly it’s just the one individual I hope this gets resolved as I feel threatened to be in the gym environment I’m sick and tired of it always being hassled and harrassed.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy this gym, sometimes I have to wait for equipment, but everyone us friendly, there's now a ladies only part, but I use the main gym, I don't feel intimidated, music is good, there's now also a cafe. The new group classes look good too Affordable and friendly

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Lots of modern equipment and caters for all kinds of training; weights, bag area, crossfit cardio style facility,... and lots more. Only recently, the bag room has been incorporated into the crossfit Hall which doesn't seem like a bad idea. I've had a little inside info that management are looking at creating a female only section of the gym; great for those interested in such a setup (once it comes to fruition). UPDATE: Allgym now has a female only area of the gym - amazing how quickly this facility was made available! The "cardio" (1st floor) space has recently been expanded and new equipment installed. This gym is just going from good to better... and that's not it! By the end of the year there is likely to be saunas made available; separately accommodated for males and females. My favourite new addition to the gym is a stomach crunch machine which I've used on a number of occasions - I've included a photo of it... Staff are very friendly and always willing to assist. My go to member of staff is Graham - a pleasant guy who is always ready to assist. (Sorry had to give Graham a deserved shout out) Best gym I've used in the 35 years (approx) of being a regular gym goer. Not to forget, they have recently opened a cafe area at the gym, so members can enjoy a little time out to relax over a healthy snack. 10/04/2023 - the gym has seen massive transformation! A lot of extra equipment has been added and the atmosphere is even more lively... honestly I'm loving this gym!!! Oh, not to forget, the gym is now operating 24/7 - amazing!!! If you're looking to join a good all round gym, I would very highly recommended AllGym!

Fantastic experience: I recently joined allGym after my friend recommended it to me and honestly, I don't think I have ever been to a better gym!! The variety of classes included in the membership is amazing, I had the chance to try a few of them and I will definitely be back to try more. I think the number of machines is great too as I don't have to wait to do the exercise I want. I am a big foodie, so I had to try the new cafe and the meal deal is worth it, they have got amazing sandwiches and coffee - I don't have to go back home starving after a work out. I'd give it 6 stars if I could tbh, great gym!

Negative experience: Be aware that when you cancel you’ll have to continue paying for a few more months as your cancellation forms magically disappear.

After checking all of our systems we can see there is no record of you having a membership with allGym.Any time membership fees have been taken that shouldn't have we are always fast in our response and will issue refunds when all relevant checks are made. Please contact the club so we can look into this further as it seems likely you have wrong gym.

Positive experience: Great gym with plenty of equipment. Never struggle to get on something. The equipment is clearly 2nd hand but all serviceable. The car park could do with being sorted out even if it is just to open the correct exit and give it a sweep up from all the broken glass. For the price I would definitely recommend.
