Fantastic experience: Great pool great staff

Negative experience: After 6 months membership (now cancelled) I thought I’d leave my honest review. Firstly Barry is an asset, always helpful! majority of other staff members don’t seem to be customer focused. The changing rooms are spacious, plenty of lockers, needs a deep clean. Windows and walls especially, (there’s chocolate on one wall that’s been there since I started). I knew the gym was small, my main issue is that for £36 a month it doesn’t offer enough, often crowded, not enough variety. Twice during summer I saw people walk in off the street to use the gym without booking in at the desk, needs more managing. The gym needs a deep clean, mold on the windows, dust and dirt on equipment and floors, not good for members lungs. The one weight bench is rusty/ torn up. Again, I’m no princess but is £36 membership a month justifiable? It should be reduced/not the same price as the much bigger centres I did enjoy lane swimming on weekends, it’s uncomfortable at full capacity but the pool itself is lovely and I can’t fault it, it’s also heated. If you’re not working 9-5 I can see how you could make the most of your membership but otherwise you miss out. I’ve now joined somewhere for £4 less a month that is very clean, has tons of classes, is open for long hours on weekends and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Positive experience: Pool was great. The website was shockingly bad. Don't even bother using the website, just phone them for the timetable. The IT department are lacking common sence.

Negative experience: My daughter has been in wave 2 for 16 months! Was told 3 weeks ago she only had 3 things left to do before moving up but the teacher isn’t doing those things with her. Teacher is constantly changing and they don’t know where the previous lesson left off so the kids are constantly doing the same things over and over. My daughter is so bored of doing the same things and she doesn’t want to go to her lessons anymore. She’s gone from being excited for lessons to hating them. I know someone who used to work in Pyle pool and I was told a child should be in 1 wave maximum 6 weeks! No wonder why there’s such a big waiting list to start swimming lessons

Fantastic experience: My little boy has been having swimming lessons here for a couple of months now. The tutors are fantastic, really interact with the children, keep them interested and are very patient. He’s come on leaps and bounds with his swimming since starting here. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Went in today to pick up our new membership cards. Barrie was on reception, could not do enough for us, showed my wife the disabled facilities, gave her advice, did not rush her in any way. Very courteous and professional.

Positive experience: Normal size swimming pool with plenty of swimming class choices. Staff are friendly and are quite up tight about the area being clean which is good. Gym is very basic but is fine if you are starting out. They have an option for monthly payments which makes it easier for a lot of people and normally includes free swimming sessions

Positive experience: It's a nice pool and staff are friendly however the time table can make it awkward for more of a casual swim

Fantastic experience: This is a good pool for serious swimmers and those who just want some fun. There aren't any slides or anything too fancy usually but in the water kids can make their own entertainment. There are however, designated fun sessions, during which they will have a large inflatable island, excellent fun for slightly older kids. Additionally they offer a variety of lessons and classes, a small gym, a jacuzzi, nice clean changing rooms, and excellent facilities for the disabled. Staff here are helpful and dedicated. For a small community pool it is very decent.

Negative experience: A slurry pit would rival this pool in terms of cleanliness. So many bits of plastic, tissue, gunk and hair balls floating around in the water that I'm surprised there's as little vomit in the water as if expect there to be. Use any other pool over this one.
