Positive experience: Broken equipment. Have reported broken rowing machine four times now. Fire doors not closing properly. Hair dryers missing.

Fantastic experience: Really good gym. Equipment and amenities are the best in the area.

Negative experience: The app and website never work and can never log in, tried cancelling my membership online but couldn’t log in so I emailed someone, no response. As soon as I cancelled my payments more than a month later someone emails me straight away threatening with policy and arrears. Then guess what, could log in to pay straight away ! How about respecting your part of the agreement and being a decent business and help your members cancel (a student membership) when they are struggling. Ridiculous policy especially for students needing to give 90 days notice. The gym has outdated equipment staff is not helpful at all and rude. Ridiculous customer service for the price. Don’t recommend at all especially for students.

Fantastic experience: Had tour of the leisure centre with Calum who was knowledgeable & easy to get on with. Found everywhere clean & tidy. State of the art gym equipment.

Fantastic experience: Have recently rejoined this gym. The team are always friendly and welcoming. Especially Calum who helped explain and set up my new membership for me. Calum is really welcoming and friendly and was happy to give me some advice about my fitness goals too. The gym and changing rooms are always clean and the swimming pool is great. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Negative experience: I attended a spin class as a day visitor (£25) which was super disappointing. Instruction was fairly absent and couldn’t be heard over the volume of the music which reverberated everything. Adverts for the grill/bar on screen during the class was nauseating. Overall I was just disappointed with the experience. Changing rooms busy and therefore not the cleanest. Second day in Coventry I went to the Warwick uni fitness centre which was £9 as a public visitor… facilities better, cleaner, less busy. Granted it is virtual les mills spin classes, far better value. I didn’t thoroughly check out all the available facilities but the spin class was disappointing.

Fantastic experience: The gym looks fantastic after the refurbishment, with new equipment thoughtfully arranged in well-designed spaces. There’s a great variety of classes offered at convenient times, and the atmosphere is really motivating. Callum Deegan gave us a tour and helped us find the perfect membership. His friendly, straightforward approach made the process easy.

Fantastic experience: Me & my partner joined a few weeks ago now, we met with Calum who talked us through everything we needed to know to join, he was very friendly & helpful. We are yet to venture to the gym, but are very much enjoying having a swim, the facilities are great.

Negative experience: Note this gym makes it extremely hard to cancel your gym membership by: Requiring 3 months notice (unless relocation then 1 month); Poor IT services that don't work, then require you to cancel by logging in to their portal which doesn't work and errors; Refuse to answer any of their provided phone numbers (note, I have tried multiple days at multiple times); Threaten legal action if you cancel your Direct Debit. For the price the gym quality is poor. Mon - Wed at peak it is very hard to get any equipment. I have been to many gyms at peak and much cheaper ones at that and they don't have this issue. The dumbell selection is very poor, even if the gym isn't that busy it can be impossible to get a common dumbell weight like 10kg. Many gyms have multiples of common dumbell weights, it is unacceptable for a gym this expensive to have only 2 sets of common dumbell weights. Swimming pool is poor for swimming with only one lane available which makes it difficult when multiple people are swimming at different speeds.

Negative experience: I want to cancel my membership, So I started to try cancel my membership online but the app wasn't working so I went to speak to someone at the reception..they told me that I had to do it online but I explained that it's not work ..the lady at the reception said that I had to try again I tried but it is not work. also they write my email wrong!!! Fantastic experience: Hi everyone i just like to say a big heartfelt thankyou to the staff at the village gym Coventry especially to Mario White PT for the support kindness and encouragement and his professionalism , he has shown and has made a significant difference in my grandson outlook in keeping fit and healthy. The reason for this review my grandson is Autistic and was very much a introvert. however joining the gym the support encouragement from all has truly transformed is outlook so why not give them a call and go and see for yourself thank julia

Fantastic experience: A very friendly gym, the staff are really helpful. It has a variety of free weights, cardio machines and weight machines. Clean and a good atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: I've been using this gym for a few years now, its by far the friendliest gym I've used. It's well equipped with plenty of free weights and machines, it also has a variety of classes that you can book. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The gym is clean and so are the changing rooms. I would definitely recommend this gym if you prefer a friendly atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: I joined the village gym Coventry a couple of months ago now and couldn’t be happier with the experience I’ve been provided since doing so! All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, there’s a really good variety of equipment and classes and the place is always lovely and clean. From someone who normally finds gyms really intimidating I find this is such a nice environment, so I’d like to thank every one who works there for all their hard work it’s definitely paying off!

Negative experience: Was going to get a membership here but came for a trial first facilities were good but there were way too many kids all over the place this meant there was no room to swim and kids constantly screaming in the changing rooms. Very annoying and ruined the relaxation of the spa.

Negative experience: These guys are a joke. Spoke to them multiple times while I was a member about the pool area not being cleaned. There was a dirty plaster on the floor by the hot tub for 3 weeks, mould in the sauna and mould in the showers. I spoke to them about various other issues at the gym including dangerous equipment and other hygiene issues. I also emailed them multiple times and not once received a reply or a call. The next email I received was to say that they were increasing my membership by £2 a month. So I decided to cancel my membership immediately. I done this online and told them I’m not paying anymore money and to call me to discuss the issues. All I got was a generic email to say my membership was cancelled but I had to give 30 days notice as per contract. I’m pretty sure I didn’t sign up for a dirty gym and a potential staph infection. Not to mention the 2 massive verrucas I’ve had since being a member. I cancelled my direct debit and I’m still waiting for someone to contact me as I refuse to pay for such a disgusting gym. Please note that I can legally cancel my contract under the consumer rights act 2015 due to unfair terms for multiple reasons so good luck getting anymore money out of me. To anyone that’s thinking of joining here I would think twice.

Positive experience: Gym ok Pool decently size not too big ,cons:no music .

Negative experience: Please before you want to join this gym, read this: When I joined this gym in June 2023 there was no any agreement and policy papers that I had to sign. At the end of August 2023 they took money out of my debit card for the next month that was September and they told me that the membership wasn’t paid and so I couldn’t access the gym until I pay not just for next month which was September but also for October. They wanted to force me pay 3 times for the membership, I have the proof that the money was taken from my account on every month. After that I told them that I’m never coming back to this gym again and after 3 months they send the ARC (Europe) LTD to collet the amount of money which is 175£ that they said I have to pay for my membership, even that I did canceled and never came back after they wanted to abuse me. They are abusive, they are liers and they will try this trick with anyone they can. I thought I was the only one but I found out it wasn’t the only abused person and there are lot of ppl that they abused and took money from them with this trick. They would take advantage of anything they can so they can take more money from you. I don’t recomand this gym to anyone!!!

Negative experience: Gym Reception just ignore you / don’t look you in the eye or barely speak. For example if buying something they just hold the card machine out without even speaking or looking at you. Weights are always left out, please make some comms for the gym, this is soo annoying and not always safe for the next person using the equipment & could cause injuries! Tried calling the gym five times today and no one answered? No one seems to clean equipment after themselves even if they’ve sweated all over it. Please put comms out and have a cleaning station of cleaning sprays and cloths like simply gym do to keep the gym clean and encourage members to clean up after themselves. There’s only one spray bottle in the main room and it’s not in an obvious place. When it’s busy one bottle is not enough for everyone. Instead of paper towels for cleaning the gym equipment, cloths would be better and then all used cloths can go in a bin for cleaning and to be reused. Lots of room for improvement based on the fact that this is one of the most expensive gyms in the area, would not say it’s worth the money.

Fantastic experience: Our second time staying at this hotel, it’s so clean, lovely staff, beautiful decor. The only thing that was missing was hash browns on the breakfast. I’m hoping they will be on the breakfast when we next visit. Really love this hotel and highly reccomend it.

Positive experience: Came here on a taster spa session, managed to use the gym, sauna and swimming pool. Enjoyed it, hopefully will check it out soon again.

Positive experience: The gym is okay, with some decent weight training equipment. What I like about the pool is that it's the same depth throughout. The jacuzzi is often crowded, and the sauna and steam rooms can get busy too. The locker rooms feel clean, and secure. I came here recently for gym, swim and spa and had a great time!

Fantastic experience: I am participating in a swimming challenge for the month of May at this gym. The staff are friendly. The changing area and pool is always clean and tidy and the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzis are always clean znd working.

Negative experience: The gym is amazing , the facilities are amazing Callum in particular is the best member of staff we have dealt with. However some of the employees need to lighten up and start using “please” and “thank you” to the members. The Middle age lady with wavy blonde hair in a messy bun is very rude she said “the studio is closing in ten minutes move to the gym room” in the rudest tone not to mention she had a face on her and there was no please no thank you no nothing. Her energy is just very negative. Then in the weights room she interrupted everyone’s workout by saying “I’m picking up everyone’s weights” everyone looked very confused and the comment was very irrelevant. Not in a rude way I appreciate the work they do but I believe the workers are being paid fairly to maintain the gyms for those who pay a membership for the club. Disappointed

Positive experience: Good gym, equipment mostly up to date. The showers are good and powerful but they’re dirty. There is mould on the ceiling, the drains give out an eggy/toilet smell and even using at 6am the cubicle walls are dirty. On the floor around the sofa parts is a rusty stain which looks like it could be removed if mopped. I don’t think it’s worth the price you pay unfortunately.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful experience, staff are not helpful at all, been trying to cancel my membership now for three weeks and just get told someone will call me back tomorrow repeatedly!

Negative experience: Good gym, friendly staff, but always a lot of people and not enough space. Still constantly dirty mirrors, a lot of dust and the music plays very quietly.

Negative experience: Horrible gym, awfull customer service. Booked gym tour arrived 15 mins early and was told I have to wait until marketing team arrives. I asked if I can check gym myself but was told I have to pay £20 to try it out. I paid £20 and I was expecting someone from membership team to approach me (in website it states that they will even buy you starbucks and friendly staff will discuss membership options) in 15 mins time whilst I am working out so they can guide me through membership options. Nobody did speak to me even when I was leaving staff just had a glance at me and pretended not to see me and stared in their phone screens but at that point I already decided not to join anyways. Benches are old and leather is wearing off. 42.5kg dumbell is damaged and rubber has come off so you can actually see metal and sharp edges. Dirty gym, for premium gym I expected more. Weights all over the place, takes 5 mins until you find 2 same weight dumbells. And the best thing about the gym - personal trainers are unfit af. How can you trust personal trainer if they are unfit? Only good thing about the gym is cardio machines they looked well maintained although not the newest other than that awfull gym. For the price of £56 not worth it. David Lloyd is much better option.

Negative experience: Very sorry but I must change my review as they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! I had to cancel my membership as I moved to a different place ...they request 3 months notice ( 3 months For a gym membership???) So I started to try to cancel my membership end of December 2022... I tried online but the app wasn't working so I went to speak to someone at the reception..they told me that I had to do it online but I explained that wasn't working ..the lady at the reception said that I had to try again ( like...sort yourself out, I don't care)... I tried and wasn't working so I filled a form and sent it as they were saying on their website that even though they don't reply...they see the communication. I rang the gym after that to make sure that everything was sorted and been told that someone from the membership team would call... never happened! I rang again and been told the same thing..never happened..at that point I thought everything was ok... so wrong! they started to send me emails regarding cash collection in April ( i stopped going there beginning of March) so i rang the gym and was told again that someone would have called me about my issue. Nobody rang me! I filled that form online again but nothing happened! They kept sending these annoying emails regarding the cash collection so I rang again the gym very upset and that was the first time they gave me a number to call ... ( why nobody gave me that number in the beginning???) ...I rang them and they told me that there was no track of my cancellation requests ( seriously ?) So I had to pay April in order to cancel my membership ( what gym requires you to pay to cancel your membership???) Plus I have to pay 3 months notice ! It's like a trap , they make cancellations so difficult and it shouldn't be difficult to delete a gym membership! They are wasting my time making me running in circles, nobody is helping, and I'm stressing out when this should have been simple and I should have had assistance!!!! Old review: I love this gym ! Very clean, never too busy as they have enough facilities even during the busiest hours. Trainers are great! A bit expensive but it's worth it.

Negative experience: Booked a tour as it to see what the gym looks like and what facilities they've got there, when I got to the gym, the receptionist guided to the side room and introduced to a male member of staff who was going to complete the tour, and I tell you what, it was the shortest ever tour I've seen in my life, this gentleman got up his chair and pointed with his hand telling me "if you go straight down, there's gym area, on the right hand side is male changing room, and there is a pool on the right hand" 2 minutes and the Tour Completed lol. You don't really have to go and see the actual gym or facilities. Whole tour is done at the reception. And the website suggested they'll offer you a coffe at Starbucks (I wasn't even bother about that as I don't drink coffee). But it is ridiculous. Someone in management seriously train their staff how to deal with customers. Completely disgraceful.

Negative experience: If you want to spoken to like dirt by members that think they are much better than you. Then feel free to visit a non inclusive gym for adults with disabilities. Staff looked like they did not want to be there and were not happy in thier job either.

Negative experience: Very rude and unwelcoming staff today. Just moved to the area and we are looking for a gym to sign up to. Upon our arrival, we were not even looked at and the receptionist didn't even acknowledge us. We will not be joining this gym.

Negative experience: Had the most appalling experience with a member of staff this afternoon. I rang to query why I was still being charged a fee after I had cancelled my membership last month (my husband has lost his job, I'm on a pension) and we just cannot afford the £54 a month. The member of staff told me that my situation was not his concern and told me I was stupid and referred me to my contract. As I was out of contract I needed to give them 90 days ;notice instead of 30 days! I was so shocked by his attitude that I ended the call! I have borrowed the money to pay them but I am appalled by the member of staff!!

Positive experience: Nice gym, pool (with a segregated lane for lap swimmers like me), sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Just avoid the pool when there are kids' lessons or aqua exercise classes.

Fantastic experience: Very clean, great staff, and well managed. The gym equipment is well stocked and I've never had to wait for a machine.

Positive experience: Clean welcoming, however whilst we were getting changed the cleaner decided to clean our pod and asked us to move. This I found very strange as there were many other areas she could have cleaned but decided to come to us whilst we were getting dressed.

Fantastic experience: Took my husband for a birthday treat, we stayed for one night, they upgraded our room and gave us a complimentary drink at the bar, the staff from reception, bar and grill were so pleasant and helpful, really made our stay lovely, a big thank to you all from myself and husband, will be back and highly recommend!

Great Steam room, sauna is good and Jacuzzi is great- if you want a spa then great place to go. Went during the free 3 day pass..I would love to go back again but seems very expensive £50+!...please review your prices!! Hence why 4 star

Fantastic experience: Lots of c.v equipment, well spaced out. Weight machines, free weights and weights room. I attend the classes, which are run from about 6am till 9pm. They offer a mixture from yoga to hiit. Pool is a nice size with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Chaining rooms are spotless. Staff are always around and offer advice when needed

Negative experience: Appalling customer service since the latest reopening. My household have 5 memberships in total for this leisure club. I’ve made around 30 calls across 5 days to try to resolve an issue with my app access, without success. I eventually get through to be advised that 1 of the memberships needs to be upgraded so the decision had been taken to block my app access. No answer until today. No phone call, email or letter. Apparently your bank details are the only useful contact details for this business. As a consequence I’ve been unable to access several classes/sessions during the time it’s taken to resolve this. Now I’m advised that a 16 year old in full time education must pay full membership despite having no income. Last, certainly not least - is that you can apparently get your repeated calls answered if you call the extension for membership enquiries/payments - but good luck getting an answer on the main leisure desk....numerous calls across 5 days so this is not an issue just at peak times. Woefully understaffed, poor communication and denying several people access to booking sessions because a child has turned 16 - and they require you to upgrade membership I.e more money - is shocking. Pick up the phone or email me - or why do you ask for these details in the first place?
