Fantastic experience: Great staff, friendly place and great facilities and classes

Negative experience: As a visitor to the Better Haydon centre I was disgusted by the state at the ladies toilet. 1 toilet didn't have a lock on it,another one the toilet roll holder didn't have a cover,another the sanitary bin was over flowing. No soap in the soap dispenser and when I went to reception to talk about it there was no-one there I waited a while but still no-one to speak to.

Positive experience: No frills Gym, has the essentials for a good workout and not too busy so far in the summer holidays. The male changing rooms look a bit tired but contrary to some other reviews I've read, the Showers are warm and actually quite good I may have found my new regular Gym. Oh and Alex at the front desk has always been welcoming and helpful which makes a massively good impression.

Fantastic experience: I was at Haydon wick community centre on Saturday it was about 14:20 and a member of staff named Alex was just about to close up he said he stayed a extra 20mins to sort a membership out It was wet an cold and I had a 3 month old baby who needed a feed. Instead of turning us away Alex let us come inside so I could breastfeed my baby. Great customer service, What a absolute credit to your team.

Negative experience: Lots of activities however very tired looking, ladies toilets smell awful and overall in desperate need of updating. Disabled doors still not working so sometimes they Wedge the doors open. The doors have been broken for years. If they updated it would be amazing

Positive experience: Has area for kids parties, has rooms for various activities...there's Kumon class, toddler dance class. Has big parking areas. The only downside is the toilet

Negative experience: I went yesterday for the first time at noon. The Pilates class was very good; the trainer was very nice. Few people were in there, I believe four in total, in two rooms (Pilates and gym), but no locker was available. The only ones with a key couldn't lock, so I had to take the backpack and clothes with me. Dirty floors and mattresses, but it is awful that people don't change their shoes when they enter at least the hall where the Pilates or Yoga classes occur. That should be a common-sense rule for everyone to follow, but there is no notice anywhere. I had no mood to visit the rest. Most probably, I will give up after the first month. I subscribed, believing it could be a good choice for my teen as well, but...

Positive experience: Looks dated and automatic doors for disabled access did not work

Negative experience: Badminton Courts are over priced, 16 per hour ?? Absolute ripoff for 40 mins .

Negative experience: Robbery and disappointment We made a reservation for today, to use their indoor basketball court. But when we went we saw that it was closed and paid £30 for nothing. Waste of time with our friends. No notification received. Never rely them. Keep away.

Positive experience: Place is good for indoor games. we play badminton over here. have to do advance booking. and you get a slot of 40 mins.

Negative experience: Haydon Gym serves a purpose and has enough equipment to please most people. Friendly environment. That said, if any men want to freshen up and take a shower afterwards expect a cold one as they are always cold. I have complained verbally and via email and get the same answers that they are being looked at. They get fixed for a few days then back to cold showers again. This has been ongoing since 2021. The changing rooms themselves are rarely cleaned and look filthy most of the time and with no cleaning rota to been seen so who knows if and when they may get cleaned? The bin maybe is emptied once a week and starts to overflow. And it’s disgusting and should be replaced to be honest. All this has been mentioned to the centre manager but still it continues. It’s a shame I have to resort to a public 2 star rating to see if there is any motivation to get it sorted. If not they will be losing a long time member of better gyms Haydon/Link. Giving a 2 star rating overall due to this.

Fantastic experience: Haydon Wick Bowls Club is behind the Haydon centre near Morrisons. The summer season has nearly come to an end, and I am now looking forward to the club finals. We have free coaching on Mondays from 1800hrs during the season. Haydon Wick also has a petangue( Boules) piste. This has got very popular, and it's played every Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 am, all year round. Don't be shy. Come along and enjoy the friendliness of this club.

Fantastic experience: The friendly, helpful staff are amazing. The machines at the centre are everything you need for a gym, I enjoy going every week day and there is enough range for me to work out on a different machine daily. The area is clean and the gym members and all nice and friendly. It's the only gym I've been to where people don't judge and look down on you.

Positive experience: Lovely little centre. Has just what I need being a beginner to the gym. If you want all the fancy machines, this probably isn’t the gym for you. Just a shame that it doesn’t open early as I would prefer to come before work instead of at 9pm.

Fantastic experience: Small but friendly place, usual fitness activities for all ages. Ballet and tap dancing classes for young children on Saturday mornings. They also have room free for booking for childrens parties. I think they also have martial art courses. Visit, phone or check their website for the latest information.

Positive experience: Have used the Haydon Centre several times over the past few years for children's parties and I would highly recommend. Staff are always friendly and helpful, hall and rooms are plenty spacious as well as reasonably priced with the bouncy castle and play equipment included.

Negative experience: Barely adequate since taken over from local Council. Toilet facilities often unacceptable. Lights and air driers not working, seats missing, toilet bowls blocked, cistern flush not working. Refreshments - NIL, unless you're prepared to be ripped off by vending machines that sometimes don't give what you've paid for : then the on-site staff are unable to refund lost money, you have to phone the vending machine suppliers! My advice? Go to the gym at the Orbital centre 400 yards away.

Negative experience: Since taken over by "Better", things are far worse dilapidated and run down with an entrance and car park that looks like it belongs in a derelict building due to the amount of weeds and state of repair
