Our comment from FitFit UK about Guildford Lido:
Guildford Lido is a fantastic outdoor swimming destination located in the heart of Guildford, United Kingdom. This historic lido features a large 50m heated pool and a separate area for younger swimmers, providing a perfect setting for families and casual swimmers alike. The recently upgraded changing facilities and the availability of clean toilets enhance the overall visitor experience.
Visitors have praised the cheerful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, making it an ideal spot for picnics and a day out in the sun. The café offers a variety of food options, including hot snacks and refreshments, alongside the popular Burrito Loco kiosk. Shaded areas and lush green spaces provide ample opportunity for relaxation.
Despite its many positives, some guests have raised concerns about overcrowding during peak times, particularly on hot days, which can lead to a chaotic atmosphere. There are also mentions of inconsistency with lifeguard supervision, and a few visitors noted the need for better cleanliness in the changing areas and toilets. Overall, while there is room for improvement, many find Guildford Lido a delightful place to spend a summer day, with plenty of fun for children and adults alike.
- Pros: Large outdoor heated pool, great slides for kids, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent staff.
- Cons: Overcrowding during peak times, need for improved cleanliness in changing and toilet facilities.

Negative experience: Gym is now closed for the winter. No wonder, because there was nobody training there and 4 members of staff. So they definitely can't afford to keep it open.

Positive experience: Guildford Lido is a 1930's outdoor Olympic size heated pool set within beautiful gardens & open 10am - 6.30pm, (pool opens 10.30am) although booking online recommended. Pool is surrounded by trees & plenty of places to sit &/or have picnic. Café & Burrito Loco kiosk offer cold/hot snacks & drinks. Pool has separate water slides. Separate toilets & showers either side of entrance (males on right/females on left as you enter), with lockers to hold valuables etc costing 20p per locker (non-refundable). Pool has shallow depths both ends with steps to enter pool & a deeper depth towards middle section. 4 lifeguards on duty surround pool. Inflatables, balls, full face masks are not permitted, only goggles & swim floats/rings, as are no glass/bottles or alcohol & bags are checked upon entry by very friendly & helpful staff. Parking available to rear of pool which fills quickly in busy season however more parking available at nearby Spectrum, further up the road on left (Lido on right). Only criticism is showers mostly cold with only one warm outdoor shower (hence 4*).

Fantastic experience: We went on what was probably the hottest day of the year. It was very busy but didn’t feel over crowded. Queues can be very long for food at lunchtime so order early or bring some of your own snacks. Be sure to book online as they were turning people away without advanced tickets.
Thanks for your fantastic review of Guildford Lido! We're thrilled to hear you had a great time on what sounds like a scorcher of a day. It's fantastic that the Lido didn't feel overcrowded despite being busy. Our team works hard to ensure a comfortable experience for all visitors. Your tips for future visitors are spot on – pre-booking online is essential during peak times. We're always looking for ways to improve the Lido experience, and a member of our management team would love to hear more about your experience and any other feedback you might have. Positive experience: It was very busy when I visited in the summer
Thanks for your review of Guildford Lido! We understand that it can get very busy during the summer months, especially on hot days. While a bustling Lido is a great sign, we appreciate it can sometimes make finding a spot to relax a bit challenging. Here are a few tips for future visits during peak times: Pre-book your tickets online: This can help you avoid queues at the entrance. Explore the whole site: We have plenty of grassy areas for picnics, so don't feel restricted to just the poolside. We hope these suggestions help you have a more relaxed experience on your next visit! A member of our management team is always interested in feedback and would love to hear any suggestions you might have for improving crowd management on busy days. You can share your thoughts confidentially on our online feedback form at https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We look forward to welcoming you back to Guildford Lido soon for another enjoyable visit!
Fantastic experience: First time there with our grandchildren What a fantastic day it has a full sized 25mtr pool and a childrens toddler pool it also has 3 water slides, food ice cream lockers, and changing rooms, all in 2 acres of grassland so take a picnic and blankets there is a NO alcohol policy. Parking on site is free but a bit limited. There is overflow car parking, but all in all, it's a fantastic day out .
Negative experience: they let way too many people in, it was borderline dangerous in the pool. lots of kids jumping in and pushing each other in all around the edges- i saw a couple of smaller kids get hurt by bigger kids jumping in on top of them. queues for the slides were badly managed- lots of unsupervised kids pushing in. changing rooms were muddy and dirty by about midday. had to queue for about half an hour to get in due to a really slow bag searching system on the way in. the pool is big and really nice but just far too many people on a hot day. safety should trump profit.
Thank you for your honest review of Guildford Lido. We're very sorry to hear that your recent visit wasn't as enjoyable as you'd hoped. We have a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe or inconsiderate behaviour, and we expect all visitors to respect each other. Our lifeguards are vigilant and intervene when necessary, but your comments highlight the need for additional measures to address rough play, particularly near the pool edges. We'll be discussing your feedback with them and exploring ways to improve supervision in these areas. We understand the frustration caused by poorly managed queues, especially with unsupervised children pushing in. We have clear queuing systems in place, and we'll be reminding our staff to ensure these are enforced effectively. There's no excuse for the muddy and dirty state of the changing rooms by midday. We have regular cleaning schedules, and we'll investigate why these weren't followed on this occasion. A member of our management team would like to hear more about your specific experience. They can access your feedback form submission and respond directly https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback
Positive experience: Very good, I loved it, but the water is too cold, you can't enjoy it as you should.
Thank you for your review of Guildford Lido! We're delighted to hear you had a great time overall, even if the water temperature wasn't quite what you hoped for. We understand that the Lido's water temperature might feel a tad chilly, especially when you first get in. Guildford Lido is heated to 24 degrees, but being an an open-air pool the weather plays a part in the water temperature. On warmer days, the sun helps to heat the water naturally. We appreciate you letting us know your preference. A member of our management team is always interested in feedback and would love to hear any suggestions you might have for improving the Lido experience. You can share your thoughts confidentially on our online feedback form at https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We look forward to welcoming you back to Guildford Lido soon for another enjoyable visit!

We look forward to welcoming you back to Guildford Lido soon for another fantastic family day out!
Negative experience: I took my 5 and 8 year old in the school holidays. There was no parking available on site which we had anticipated and we went at parked at Guildford spectrum. The walk itself was not bad (took 20 min not 10!) but it was not signposted. We followed some other people walking over a grass field who looked like they might be heading the same place as us. The signs in the carpark said you could only park for 4 hours when we had paid for a whole day at the Lido. When we arrived we were barked at by the man on the gate to stand to one side and then abruptly told we needed our bags checked. The site was heaving with people and you could barely move. We made our way up the hill to the right to have a picnic. It was very muddy on the steps and I was worried we might slip. It was a pleasant place to sit once we had found an empty spot. Lots of shade from the trees which was needed in the hot weather. After some lunch we headed to swim. It was extremely crowded at each end of the pool. When we got in we realised why. The pool was extremely deep. You could barely move for people at the ‘shallow end’ which came up to my shoulders. Most of the pool was well out of my depth at 2m. It was not ideal for swimming with two children! If I had known before we wouldn’t have come. The kids could not swim as I didn’t want them out of my depth and in the small shallow area you could hardly move for people and there was no space for swimming. The kids wanted to play and not have me holding on to the for dear life so we ended up in the splash pool which really was for toddlers. The children quickly got bored and we ended up heading home after a few hours. The slides were closed while we were there. They were just opening up when we left and the queue was huge. It would be an ideal place for teenagers to come who are very confident in swimming out of their depth and for some distance but not for young families.
Thank you for your detailed review of Guildford Lido. We're sorry to hear that your recent visit with your children wasn't the relaxing family outing you were hoping for. We understand the frustration of finding no parking on-site, especially during school holidays. We apologise if the welcome you received from our staff member felt abrupt. Our team strives to be friendly and efficient, and we'll use your feedback to ensure a warmer greeting for future visitors. Guildford Lido is an Olympic-sized pool with varying depths. We do have a dedicated shallow paddling pool for younger visitors. Our website has information about the pool's depth and facilities, which might be helpful for planning future visits. A member of our management team would be interested in hearing more about your specific experience and suggestions for improvement, particularly for families with young children. You can share your thoughts confidentially on our online feedback form at https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback.
Negative experience: The only good things about this place are the size of the swimming pool (very big), the burrito food stall, which serves decent food. The management should really take care of the parking situation, which is a proper nightmare. I booked the day before and I went there on a Sunday at 1pm. I literally went around for almost an hour looking for a parking space. The lido car park was full, the street too narrow for two cars (everyone like me was going back and forth from the lido to the other car park where the staff suggest to look for space, which was full as well. I ended up parking 15 mins walking distance on a yellow line. Also once inside, the state of the changing area and lockers was disgusting. Dirty nappies on the floor, abandoned underwear, super dirty and smelly toilets. Even 4 hours later when we left, everything was just the same. Very poor hygiene level. Not a great experience.
Thank you for your honest review of Guildford Lido. We're sincerely sorry to hear about your experience. This falls far short of the standards we set for ourselves, and we take your feedback very seriously. There's absolutely no excuse for the state of the changing areas, lockers, and toilets you encountered. Our staff work very hard to maintain a high standard of hygiene. We'll ensure they address any areas that might have been neglected. We appreciate you mentioning the positive aspects of your visit – the size of the pool and the delicious food from Burrito Loco. A member of our management team would like to hear more about your specific concerns and apologise again. They can access your feedback form submission and respond directly https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback
Positive experience: Had a great. However needs more food and drinks choice. Cleaning needs to be little better I know it's busy during summer but u still need to keep up the standards. And there really should be an age limit on the small kids pool area as too many times my little one or other little ones got pushed over due to bigger kids messing around
Thank you for your review of Guildford Lido! We're thrilled to hear you had a great time overall. We appreciate your feedback about the food and drink options. We're always looking for ways to improve our offerings, and your suggestion for a wider variety is valuable. A member of our management team would love to hear more specific ideas about what you'd like to see on the menu. You can share your thoughts confidentially on our online feedback form at https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We understand your concerns about cleanliness, especially during busy summer periods. Maintaining high standards is a priority for us, and we'll be sure to address any areas that might have fallen short of your expectations. Regarding the small children's pool area, we take safety very seriously. While we don't currently have an age limit, our lifeguards are vigilant and ensure everyone plays safely and considerately. We'll share your feedback with them to see if there are any additional measures we can take to create a more comfortable environment for younger children. A member of our management team would be interested in discussing your experience in more detail. They can access your feedback form submission and respond directly. We look forward to welcoming you back to Guildford Lido soon!

Fantastic experience: Really well managed even on hot days. Booking easy. Nice to see security handling things even in the car park. Recent changing room upgrades, plenty of lifeguards not overly strict and decent cafe make this a really pleasant experience. Will be regularly coming again

Thank you for your fantastic review of Guildford Lido! We're thrilled to hear you and the kids had a wonderful time. A bit of a crowd is definitely expected on a scorching day, but we're glad you still found plenty of space to enjoy yourselves. Fantastic experience: So lucky to have this beautiful lido local to me. Early morning lane swimming is easy to book, free to park and very reasonably priced. Lanes are divided into slow, medium and fast and don’t feel too crowded. Plenty of lockers and changing facilities.

Fantastic experience: Wow! 50m pool gently heated to around 23° when we visited for an evening lane swim. Booked in advance via the website. Free parking on site. Clean (poolside, unheated) changing cubicles (males turn right/women left from the entrance) with plenty of hot showers, toilets, and family changing cubicles. Need 20p (non-refundable) for poolside lockers. Clean, well-maintained pool.

Positive experience: We visited on a Tuesday afternoon with 5 people. Student discount available for around half the price (around £4.5) of full adult price (around £9). We got tickets on arrival from the kiosk with no queue times. Lots of spaces for changing rooms but felt unsanitary as there were used nappies and period pads left on the floor. Not entirely the venue staffs fault, as visitors need to respect the public space more however there needs to be more frequent checks as the same nappy was still there after about 4 hours. Expect slight queue for showers. There are also private ones available close to the changing cabins and toilets. Nice grassy hills and patches available surrounding the Lido, inside the venue where you can have a picnic. 2 water slides on site with separate mini lane for small ones nearby. The main pool was divided into 2 sections horizontally for lane swimmers and casual swimmers. Naturally no photography/video allowed unless you sign a paper at the kiosk. There is also a mini cafe and food stall available on site. Lockers were 20p per use (everytime you open and close the locker) so make sure you have few 20p coins on you.
Thank you for your detailed review of Guildford Lido! It's very helpful to hear about your experience. We're thrilled to hear you were able to take advantage of the student discount. We understand your concern about the cleanliness of the changing rooms. Maintaining hygiene is a top priority for us. Fantastic experience: Pool was nice and cool and the food at the burrito stand is amazing really good quality will definitely be going back. We bought two small children and they enjoyed the paddling pool and also slides, although kids had been pushing past people to get to the slides but other then that perfect day out.
Thank you for your fantastic review of Guildford Lido! We're thrilled to hear you had a perfect day out with your family. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness and quality of the Lido's water, so we're happy it was cool and inviting. We understand it can be frustrating when children are over-enthusiastic and end up pushing past others to get to the slides. Our lifeguards are always on hand to ensure safety and enjoyment for everyone, and they will address any unruly behaviour. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thank you for mentioning you'll definitely be coming back. We look forward to welcoming you back to very soon! Fantastic experience: Such an amazing and special place. Swimming pool is HUGE! The slides are great for younger children up to around 12. Having the cafe was the icing on the cake
Thank you for your fantastic review of Guildford Lido! It sounds like you had a wonderful experience, and we're thrilled to hear you found it such a special place. The Lido's olympic sized heated pool is a real crowd-pleaser, and we're delighted you enjoyed it. The slides are also a popular feature, especially for younger visitors. We're happy they provided some extra fun during your visit! Having a convenient cafe on-site is definitely the icing on the cake, just like you said. It's a great way to refuel after a refreshing swim. Is there anything specific you enjoyed about the cafe? Perhaps the delicious food options or the friendly staff? Negative experience: Donot recommend. The place is expensive without any facilities. It said heated pool, the water was extremely cold. Moreover, even basic facilities like hairdryers donot exist. Lockers are non-refundable as well, as if the initial booking fee wasn’t enough.
Thank you for your honest feedback about your recent visit to Guildford Lido. We're sorry to hear that you didn't feel the Lido offered good value for money, especially regarding the water temperature and facilities. The Lido is advertised as having a heated pool because the water is heated to around 25°. It's important to note that it's heated to a comfortable level for outdoor swimming, which can vary depending on individual preferences. To help you plan future visits, we actually post the daily water temperature on our Guildford Lido social media stories. A member of our management team would be happy to speak with you directly to hear more about your experience and discuss any further concerns. You can share them confidentially on our online feedback form at https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback.
Negative experience: Arrived about midday,I literally took the last parking spot which was in a very tight car park. Made our way to the gates, proceeded to buy tickets. 2 adults 3 children, was charged £7.20 per person, no family ticket stated?? Anyway we made our way to find a bit of grass. The pool looked great the grass looked nice the slides looked fun. We went for a dip in the pool for 20 mins then I decided to get some food for my family and I. After queuing at the food hut by the pool I was told there was hardly anything left on the menu, I settled for 2x ham&cheese panini's and a pain au Chocolat. Not really a lunch but none the less... Oh I also asked for a croissant but was denied as they were frozen, the last ones went out in the morning (I'd take more out of the freezer personally to defrost in 3 mins but.... Yeah.) so I got my food and went back to my plot of grass, opened the panini's and both were burned black, I immediately felt angry after waiting for the food for 25 minutes after I ordered, I went back where I found multiple people having issues with their food, or not receiving any at all, drinks included. So I queue again not wanting to cause a scene, not really my thing, 15 mins later I asked for 2 new ones. And was told there were no panini's left, staring at a bin full of burned ones!!! so I got a refund with a bit of hassle on the side. So my youngest daughter had a pain au Chocolat for the day, and the rest of us nothing, so after all the drama of ordering food we decided to hit up the slides. We walked to the stairs to be met by someone shutting the slides off, we were turned around with no explanation. By this point I felt very angry and a whole lot more!!!! I went to find the manager. She has long dark curly hair probably in her 20s. I explained everything that's been happening at the lido today to be told "there is nothing i can do, sorry" I wasn't expecting her to do much for me but maybe sort the family ticket price issue out or tell me why they have no food or staff for the slides?? Just nothing. Worst day in a long time, the pool really looked great though, started to get really over crowded when the slides were shut off. Rant over.
Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at Guildford Lido. We're truly sorry to hear that your visit fell short of expectations. We understand your frustration about the limited parking availability, particularly upon arrival. While on-site Lido parking can fill up quickly, there is a large free car park available at the nearby Guildford Spectrum, just a few minutes walk away. Regarding the ticket pricing, we do have a family ticket and is for 4 people (maximum of 2 adults) and is £28.80. You paid £7.20 person totaling £36 which is the same price as a family ticket and an extra junior at £7.20. www.freedom-leisure.co.uk/centres/guildford-lido/latest-news/summer-season-2024/ The limited food availability and the burnt panini are completely unacceptable. We take great pride in offering a variety of food options, and we apologise that this wasn't the case during your visit. We'll be addressing this immediately to ensure they're better prepared for busier periods. The sudden closure of the slides and the lack of explanation is also concerning. We understand your disappointment, and we're investigating the reason for the closure. We have protocols in place regarding slide closures, and ensuring clear communication with our guests is a priority. The duty manager's response, unfortunately, did not reflect the high standards of customer service we strive for at Guildford Lido. We'll be addressing this with the management team to ensure all concerns are handled promptly and professionally. While we're glad you found the pool itself appealing, we recognise that the overall experience fell far short. A member of our management team would be happy to speak with you directly to hear more about your experience and discuss how we can prevent similar situations in the future. You can share your feedback on our online feedback form at https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback and a member of the management team can respond directly to you. We sincerely apologise for the disappointment caused on your visit. We hope you'll give us another chance to show you the enjoyable Lido experience we aim to provide.
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing day there today, no problems parking, grounds unbelievably clean and well maintained. Pool is a bit on the cold side though but overall had a great time.
We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you had a fantastic day at the Guildford Lido! We pride ourselves on keeping the Lido clean and well-maintained, so we're delighted that you noticed our efforts. We appreciate your feedback about the pool temperature. We actually post the daily water temperature on our social media stories! This might help you plan your next visit. Overall, we're so happy you had a great time at the Lido. If you have any other comments or suggestions about your visit, we'd love to hear them. You can share your thoughts on our online feedback form at https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. Thanks again for the positive review! We look forward to welcoming you back to Guildford Lido soon for another enjoyable swim.
Negative experience: I paid for general swimming session for x2 adults on 17th May. In the description, it says online “You will have full access of the pool and slides”. It also says, “We encourage customers to enjoy the open section of the swimming pool”. The whole sessions of “general swimming’s was in lanes. We could not enjoy the “open section” because there was no open section. Half of the pool was closed for some reason and we did not pay to swim in lines. The slides were closed too. We asked staff if the lanes would open up to allow open swimming but the lady said they will keep the lanes for the whole day. I emailed Lido and received no response, so I emailed Guildford Spectrum’s general email. Neither were helpful at all.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent visit. We're very sorry to hear that your experience wasn't what you were expecting. We're also sorry to hear that your emails to the Lido and Guildford Spectrum haven't been responsed too. This certainly isn't the standard we aim for, and we'd like to investigate further. A member of our Lido management team would be happy to speak with you directly to understand your experience in more detail. You can contact the Lido confidentially via our dedicated Lido feedback form at https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We're committed to providing a positive experience for all our visitors, and your feedback helps us improve. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully welcoming you back to Guildford Lido in the future, where you can enjoy a more complete swimming experience.
Fantastic experience: There is no other place that I see my self really enjoying a hot sunny day. Absolutely beautiful open air massive swimming pool with a huge green space to relax and take in some vitamin D
That's wonderful to hear! We couldn't agree more that Guildford Lido is the perfect place to soak up the sun on a glorious summer's day. There's something truly special about swimming in an open-air pool, surrounded by all that green space. We pride ourselves on offering a beautiful and relaxing environment for our Lido visitors. We're thrilled you enjoyed it! We value your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts! You can share them directly with our team through our Lido feedback portal: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. Thanks again for choosing Guildford Lido. We look forward to welcoming you back soon for another dose of sunshine and swimming!
Negative experience: Very very disappointed, the girl who was scanning the tickets, was very rude when l went there and l wanted to go inside to the pool l asked her if l can scan both the ticket because my husband was parking the car and l asket her if is ok to scan for both or do l need to wait for him and she said is ok. Only 2 min later they didn’t let my husband to go inside, l went there and the girl she was watching at me like she didn’t remember me l feel so so bad l never feel like today and she didn’t apologise to me but the wanted me to apologise to her and she said you need to apologise to me or your husband is not going inside. And she said l can tell the security to send you straight way out of the pool, for no reason l didn’t do anything la asked her very politely and she said yes and after she wanted me to apologise to her for what she said l don’t remember you but when she didn’t remember people how she can scan the tickets and make people bad l don’t know l been travelling all the world and never ever someone one said you need to apologise me or your husband is not coming inside the pool.
We're terribly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at Guildford Lido. The situation you described falls short of the standards we expect for our staff and the welcoming atmosphere we strive to create. Firstly, we sincerely apologise for the behaviour of the staff member who scanned your ticket. There's absolutely no excuse for speaking to a customer in that way. We take all feedback seriously, especially regarding our staff's conduct. We will be thoroughly investigating this incident to ensure it doesn't happen again. Your experience with the ticket scanning process also wasn't ideal. We understand you were trying to be helpful by asking about scanning both tickets at once. While following procedures is important, we should have handled the situation with courtesy and flexibility. We would be grateful if you could share a few more details about your experience through our confidential Lido feedback portal: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. This will allow us to get in touch with you directly to apologise further and address your concerns. We hope you'll give us another chance to show you the friendly and enjoyable experience Guildford Lido aims to deliver.
Fantastic experience: Amazing day out, nice pool, a few slides. Plenty of shaded spaces to set up picnic blankets. Friendly security and lifeguards. Really nice place.
That's fantastic to hear! We're delighted you had a wonderful day out at Guildford Lido. It sounds like everything came together perfectly for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The Lido offers a unique blend of open-air swimming, a few slides for some splashy fun, and plenty of space to relax and soak up the sun. We're thrilled you enjoyed all of it! A big thank you for mentioning our friendly security and lifeguards – their attentiveness is a key part of creating a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. We value your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts! You can share them directly with our team through our Lido feedback portal: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. Thanks again for choosing Guildford Lido. We look forward to welcoming you back for another sunny day out soon!
Fantastic experience: Come rain or shine it is a great place to go swimming. Only wish it was open all year round.
That's wonderful to hear! We agree, Guildford Lido offers a fantastic open-air swimming experience, rain or shine. There's something invigorating about swimming outdoors, and the Lido provides the perfect space for that. We value your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts! You can share them directly with our team through our Lido feedback portal: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. Thanks again for choosing Guildford Lido. We look forward to welcoming you back for another swim soon, under sunny skies.
Negative experience: A real wasted opportunity. The setting is amazing. The pool enormous. How do they get it all so wrong. Visited 16th Sept and left as my tranquil swim was marred by a deafening music set from a DJ. It’s a lido not a nightclub. The facility appears to have a policy of not answering the phone so you can’t ask about parking or how busy they are. If more thought was given to customers needs this could be the best Lido in the country… the changing rooms are new and the showers great…my experience yesterday was horrendous.
We're terribly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at Guildford Lido on September 16th. It sounds like the loud music completely disrupted the tranquil swim you were hoping for, and we understand your frustration. You're right, the Lido's setting and size have the potential to offer a fantastic open-air swimming experience. We take customer feedback very seriously, and your comments about the loud music are particularly valuable. We do occasionally have themed events with DJs at the Lido, but they are usually clearly advertised in advance. We'll be reviewing our scheduling procedures to ensure this isn't a recurring issue. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by not being able to answer the phone about parking and capacity. We're currently looking into ways to improve our phone accessibility. We appreciate your kind words about the new changing rooms and showers. We're always striving to improve the Lido, and your feedback helps us identify areas where we can do better. Would you be comfortable sharing a few more details about your experience, particularly regarding the music, through our confidential Lido feedback portal: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback? This will allow us to investigate this incident further and ensure it doesn't happen again. We hope you'll give us another chance to show you the tranquil Lido experience we strive to deliver.
Positive experience: On the website, it says that the pool is heated to 24 degrees during the summer months. Today the weather was 28degrees so a warm day. The pool was absolutely freezing. Not sure if the heating system was switched off because of the warm weather, but it was unbearably cold especially with small children.
We're terribly sorry to hear that the Lido pool was uncomfortably during your visit on a warm day. We understand how disappointing it must have been, especially for young children. We apologise for the inconvenience this caused, particularly for your children. If you'd be comfortable sharing the specific date of your visit, it would help us investigate the pool temperature on that day. You can share this information and any other details about your experience through our confidential Lido feedback portal: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We hope you'll give us another chance to experience the Lido at its best. We're always looking for ways to improve, and your feedback is valuable in helping us achieve that.
Negative experience: Pool so freezing the kids turned blue and had to come out. Queue for slides inexplicably long with lifeguards who clearly did not care what sort of experience anyone had. Out of control kids everywhere. Left after about an hour as it was frankly unbearable.
We're terribly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at Guildford Lido. It sounds like everything from the pool temperature to the queue times and atmosphere fell short of what you and your children expected. We aim to ensure a smooth flow and keep waiting times to a minimum. We'll be reviewing our procedures for the slides to address this issue. The lifeguards' role is to prioritise safety, but they should also be approachable and helpful. An unruly atmosphere is definitely not what we want at the Lido. We have measures in place to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, and it sounds like these weren't effective on your visit. We'll be reviewing our procedures and considering what additional steps we can take. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. It allows us to identify areas where we need to improve and ensure a better experience for future visitors. Would you be comfortable sharing the specific date of your visit through our confidential Lido feedback portal: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback? This will allow us to investigate your experience further. We hope you'll give us another chance to show you the fun and family-friendly atmosphere the Lido can offer.
Positive experience: Haven't visited for I think 2 years, glad they have updated the changing rooms and toilets, much nicer now. Shame about the kids pool as half is empty and the other half is falling apart. I'm sure the price used to be much higher, I thought it was very reasonable price today when visiting. Nice and clean everywhere, security constantly walking around as well as lots of staff about. Didn't use the cafe or food facilities but they looked reasonably priced from the menu I saw.
Thank you so much for your visit to Guildford Lido and for taking the time to leave a review! We're thrilled to hear that you were impressed with our newly refurbished changing rooms and toilets – we've worked hard to create a more pleasant experience for our guests. We appreciate your feedback about the kids' pool, we're committed to providing excellent facilities for all ages, and we'll be sure to share your comments with the relevant team. We're glad you found the entrance fee reasonable. It's fantastic to hear that you found the lido clean and well-staffed. Our security team and staff are always on hand to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. While you didn't have a chance to sample our food facilities on this occasion, we're pleased to hear that the menu prices seemed reasonable. We offer a variety of delicious refreshments to suit all tastes. Thank you again for your feedback. We value your input and hope to welcome you back to Guildford Lido soon! In the meantime, if you have any further comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback
Negative experience: I visited on a really hot day and had booked a week prior. I expected it to be busy, but there were too many people, personally I thought it was over crowded and bordering dangerous. There's nightclub style security at the entrance, after which the noise from screaming kids was deafening. The pool was a human soup, kids jumping dangerously into the water, nearly knocking me on the head at one point, that wasn't stopped by the lifeguards. The water was a good temperature though, but there was so little room to move, let alone swim. All of the surrounding pool areas were packed with people, so no chance to sit in any shade. The changing rooms and lockers seem new. Awful experience here, I stayed for 10 mins, it was unbearable. I'll be avoiding at all costs on hot days when kids are off school. I'm sure it's usually nice here, but today was terrible.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your recent visit to Guildford Lido. We're sorry to hear that your experience wasn't what you'd hoped for, particularly on such a hot day. We understand your frustration regarding the crowds. During hot weather, Guildford Lido can become very busy, especially during school holidays. We actively manage capacity levels to ensure safety. We are always looking for ways to improve the visitor experience, and your feedback is valuable. We apologise that the security presence and noise from children detracted from your enjoyment. We have security on-site to ensure a safe environment for all visitors, and lifeguards are stationed around the pool to ensure safety in the water. We appreciate you acknowledging that Guildford Lido is usually a pleasant experience. We strive to provide a relaxing and enjoyable environment for all ages, and your feedback helps us identify areas for improvement on busy days. We're pleased to hear you found the changing rooms and lockers to be new and improved. If you'd like to share any further comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We hope you might consider giving us another try.
Fantastic experience: This is an exceptional spot to enjoy quality time with friends. It's impressively well-maintained and spotlessly clean. While parking can occasionally be crowded, there's an alternative parking area just a short walk away, accessible via a lovely stroll through the woods.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a fantastic review about Guildford Lido! We're thrilled to hear you find it an exceptional spot to enjoy quality time with friends. It's wonderful that you appreciate our efforts in maintaining the lido and keeping it spotlessly clean. We strive to create a pleasant and inviting environment for everyone to enjoy. While car parking can sometimes be busy on sunny days, we appreciate you mentioning the alternative car park just a short walk away. The stroll through the woods sounds particularly lovely, adding a touch of nature to your visit. Thank you for your understanding regarding parking. We're always looking for ways to improve the visitor experience, and your feedback is valuable. If you have any further suggestions or recommendations, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We're so glad you enjoyed your time at Guildford Lido and look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
Positive experience: They did a good job today, on the hottest and busiest day of the year. The QR code entry/ security staff are good, the young kids in the entrance booth less so but maybe they have just had enough of rude people. The lifeguards work pretty hard on days like this. It must be difficult for them to keep a good overview of what is going on with so many people in the pool. I still think this is the best pool for miles around. The layout and catering is much better than Hampton and Tooting. Note that smoking is allowed, if that bothers you. Or, if not officially allowed, tolerated…doesn’t bother me but some might find it irritating. We need more of these facilities, we live in a densely populated area, and on busy days the demand is too high. By my reckoning the population catchment of guildford lido must be getting on for more than a million people.
Thank you for your fantastic review of Guildford Lido, particularly on what sounds like an incredibly busy day! We're delighted to hear you found the lido to be the best pool for miles around – that's high praise indeed! We appreciate your kind words about our QR code entry system and security staff. We're always working to streamline the entry process and ensure a smooth experience for visitors. We understand that on such busy days, new staff members might be finding their feet, and we will pass on your feedback about the young staff in the entrance booth to the relevant team. Our lifeguards do a fantastic job, especially on days with high visitor numbers. They work tirelessly to ensure everyone's safety in the pool, and we appreciate your acknowledgement of their hard work. We're thrilled you find the layout and catering at Guildford Lido superior to other local options. We strive to provide a comprehensive and enjoyable experience for all our visitors. Thank you for your suggestion regarding additional facilities. We value your input and will pass it on to the relevant authorities. In the meantime, if you have any further comments or suggestions for Guildford Lido, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We're so glad you enjoyed your visit and look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
Negative experience: Absolute chaos! Granted today was the hottest day of the year, so I was fully expecting the lido to be busy. However, there seemed to be no limitation on numbers at all. Absolutely heaving, and in my opinion pretty dangerous. I will definitely not be returning.
Thank you for your honest feedback about your recent visit to Guildford Lido. We understand your frustration, particularly as you visited on the hottest day of the year. We sincerely apologise that the lido felt overly crowded and unsafe on your visit. We do manage capacity levels for safety reasons. We value your feedback and are constantly looking for ways to improve the visitor experience, especially during peak periods. We hope you'll reconsider returning to Guildford Lido in the future. If you'd like to share any further suggestions for improvement, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback.
Negative experience: You need to book tickets in advance like 4-5 days ago. They won’t received call either.
Thank you for your feedback about booking tickets for Guildford Lido. We understand your frustration about needing to book tickets in advance, especially if you were unable to get through on the phone. We've implemented an online booking system to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our visitors, particularly during peak periods. High demand can sometimes mean tickets sell out quickly. If you have any further questions or suggestions about the booking process, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We hope to see you at Guildford Lido soon!
Positive experience: The pool is great, the slides are lovely and a big shoutout to zayd at burrito loco bar for the excellent service!
Positive experience: Even though I bought a ticket in advance, had to wait in a long queue due to a glitch in the system. Was very busy . Staff not overly attentive. Pool was clean but cold. Pleasant afternoon but the long wait spoilt it. Free parking
Positive experience: The new changing facilities and mini Cafe are good. Pool is clean and the water lovely. However, on several occasions the life guards have not being doing their job really.
Positive experience: Lovely pool but gets very busy. Recommend to take your own picnic/picnic blanket. There's a small cafe and "restaurant" onsite but it's quite pricey. 2 different pools: main pool which goes to 2m depth and has lanes and free swim. Theres a paddling pool and 3 slides. There's lockers available for 20p (non refundable). Toilets and changing room available onsite and separated (male/female). There's also family changing near the entrance. You can park a little bit up the hill from the lido free for 4hrs.
Negative experience: The lifeguards are insufferable and the way the female manager treats some of the cafe staff is awful. The standards kept by said manager are sub-par at best as well.
Negative experience: How much did the refurb cost, toddler pool falling apart, and the water was cold even though you charge for a heated pool, and the lifeguard on the slide had headphones on and was watching stuff in his phone kids were doing dangerous stuff on the slides he did not even notice
Fantastic experience: Love this place.. went last year and enjpyed every minute. Lovely large pool, plenty of toilets and changing rooms...water slides and food places. Large picnic area and a sandy bit... You can be there all day if you wish and very decent prices. Definitely wanting to come back, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.. weather depending.
So glad to hear you love Guildford Lido! It sounds like you had a fantastic experience, and we can't wait to welcome you back again soon. We take pride in offering a variety of amenities for all ages, from our lovely large pool to the exciting water slides and delicious food options. Whether you want to relax by the pool, enjoy a picnic in our spacious grounds, or build sandcastles with the little ones, there's something for everyone. We understand the importance of good value for money, and we're thrilled you found our prices reasonable. Looking ahead to the next few weeks, we recommend checking our website for the latest weather forecast and potential booking requirements, especially if it's a particularly hot day. We hope to see you back at Guildford Lido soaking up the sunshine (weather permitting!) in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback.
Fantastic experience: A brilliant and fun day out for all the family. The Lido is set in a lovely park-like setting. There are four slides and a HUGE pool that is sectioned off for family fun or lane swimming. There is a small paddling pool for toddlers too. The changing rooms and looks are lovely and clean (considering the ambience). There are a couple of very reasonably priced cafes or plenty of grassed and covered areas to have a picnic.. There are also (very importantly) numerous lifeguards who are friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place (wish I'd known about it sooner ☺️).
Positive experience: The kids section could do with some serious love the floor was falling apart in the section that was open the other half was empty dirty . The bouncers on the front door was a bit off putting never seen that a pool before . Main section was ok
Negative experience: Didn't even get to enter the lido. Super limited car parking up a road that should be a one way system. On premises car park closed off and overflow parking full. Only parking available was at the Wild Wood Adventure and they were kicking any swimmers out under threat of police for non-customers using their car park. Zero parking available on residential roads as well. If you're going to be selling tickets online, you should only sell as many admissions as you have parking spots! You might be lucky in the winter but forget about it in the summer.
Fantastic experience: Great pool great waterslides really fun for me and my family to go to. The taco bar is a great place for food after swimming too. As well as refreshments and ice creams available. If possible, go on a warmer day as it makes your experience so much better.
Fantastic experience: New renovated with hot showers. 3 slides and a 50m beautiful pool. Free car parking. Brilliant day out!
Positive experience: I took my grandson and we both loved it. The only minor thing, the slides closed for a period with no warning and no sign to say when it would be open again. They were re-opened again later.
Fantastic experience: Loved my swim here! My usual training pool was closed for an event so I drove here to train. Great fir a lane swim. Wasn't too cold. Not been since it had a revamp and wow...the changing area/showers are great now! Well worth the £8 fee....I was happy to be contributing to keeping such facilities going. Thanks to the fantastic staff that keep this place going.
Positive experience: Lovely Outdoor Olympic sized Swimming pool to play, train and have fun in! There are also extra slides if you don’t feel like Swimming. However, the toilet quality is absolutely terrible. Overall really good outdoor Swimming pool, but I suggest that you use the outside toilets instead of the indoor ones
Negative experience: Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a public place. Granted it was a hot day but my god. First of all the pool was freezing, not even refreshing on a hot day, genuinely cold. Once you’re in the pool you can forget about swimming, literally people everywhere, kids jumping in the pool from every angle, so many near misses from people jumping in the pool and landing on little kids. slides were a joke, people pushing in, lifeguards letting people run and jump down the slides behind people, accident waiting to happen. People smoking and drinking everywhere and letting their kids run riot while the life guards couldn’t care less, people also having no regard for the swimming lanes either. Parking at the leasure centre is recommended, not a bad walk down to the lido. Confused why at a lido I was greeted by a bouncer but after going inside I could see why. In conclusion - if you want to go swimming, this is not the place for you. If you want somewhere to smoke, drink, let your horrible kids run riot and be a general disgusting human being without any repercussions from the people that work there, this is right up your street.
Fantastic experience: Lovely atmosphere on a hot sunny day. Kids were having a great time in the 50m pool, It's unheated but was fine when the air temp was 28c. Good selection of Ice creams and hot food.
Negative experience: Went on a sunny weekend and it was very crowded, plus total mess at the loos. The water is definitely not heated to the 24 degrees they state on the website. I would avoid on weekends.
Negative experience: I was truly shocked by the standard of life guarding I witnesses on my trip today. As a single mother it is terrifying that the life guards are a bunch of teens huddled together chatting and paying zero mind to the children running and swimming. The pool was filthy and despite there being more than 6 life guards, slides and half the pool were closed and none of the life guard posts filled. When asking a question about the slide, I was greeting with giggles and a couldn’t care less attitude. There was grit all along the bottom of the pool and I am truly concerned for the safety of the children that swim here when there is no body managing the pool area’s safety. Please save your money and keep your children safe by visiting other pools.
Positive experience: Great for kids lots of space to sit. Clean and tidy Changing rooms. Toilets clean car park very small and one way .Two cars blocked the exit so people where have reverse out
Negative experience: Water temperature is way too cold, spoken to the staff and they are clueless about it, you can’t stay in the water for long as its chilling cold the staff is useless as they keep on saying no the water is hot i even asked to show me the water temperature they refused. Such a shame and waste of money. Smell everywhere and attached the pictures of slugs mud. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!
Negative experience: It was a very bad experience. There were too many people for a swimming pool, so we could not swim, and the water was very dirty, so I do not advise anyone to go. And we spend 2 hours outside to find the park.
Fantastic experience: Lovely pool with lots of open space. Can get busy during warm weather but that's too be expected. Not much parking on site, however plenty if you don't mind a 5 min walk. Check times though as states open til 9pm but I believe that's for the gym
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about Guildford Lido! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed our lovely pool and the abundance of open space. It's a great place to relax and soak up the sun. You're absolutely right; the lido can get busy during warm weather. We do our best to manage capacity for everyone's safety and enjoyment. We appreciate you mentioning the parking situation. While on-site parking can be limited, there's a larger car park just a short five-minute walk away through some lovely woodland. Thank you for clarifying the opening hours. You're correct; the 9pm closing time applies to the gym facilities, while the pool closes earlier. We recommend checking our website for the most up-to-date opening times before your visit. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Guildford Lido and hope to see you back again soon. In the meantime, if you have any further comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback.
Negative experience: Do not visit this pool if it’s not your local. The pool is dirty as they have major reconstruction, there’s all gravel on the bottom of the pool. No changing rooms and have to use disabled toilets as gym changing rooms are flooded. Slides are out of order due to lack of staff (even though we went on one of the hottest weekends). Pool is not heated and pool temperate advertised is not accurate. Very cold in 32 degree heat. Do not waste your time, there are plenty of other options
Positive experience: Lots closed off and not sure why two lanes were closed off when it was so busy! Difficult to park but beautiful setting. Look forward to when building work done
Negative experience: Pluses Somewhere to go with a pool. Free parking Cafe Long all day sessions Minuses The pool isn't heated, its icy cold even on a hot day Toilets/ showers need refurb No loungers etc to sit on comfortably Few benches Not many seats to sit and eat Why not put plastic loungers all around pool and some bench tables on grass? Oh and actually heat the pool!
Negative experience: Unfortunately there weren't enough staff so the slides were shut meaning not alot for smaller children. The other shallow pool was also not running . The toilets were portaloos . So altogether facilitates not great.
Negative experience: The service is very poor. I have called the place to book tickets ,where I have been told that I can pay as you go. On arrival they did not let me in . In return I get ‘sorry and apologise’ After I drove 1 hour and 6 of my friends ruined their day and time . Very unprofessional!
Positive experience: Great place to be when hot, lovely pool but only giving 4 star as cant even take a ring in pool for kids which doesn't seem right when the pool is so deep and would give them a break from working so hard to stay afloat every now and then. Don't really understand it when other pools indoor allow rings, like Woking Pool in the Park and Staines Leisure Centre, yet this is a bigger pool so makes no sense, take a bit of fun out of it!
Negative experience: Disaster... the lido is being refurbished, no mention on the website... the car park is even smaller as its a building site ... only 8 port-a-loos which were filthy and not enough for the masses by the pool... no running water or showers or changing rooms... food was poor as well... the pool was in my mind hygienic and In had an upset stomach for two days after... It should be closed while being refurbished, and as to why they did not do the makeover the winter is beyond me... Oh and they still charge full price for the experience... I'm sure it would be lovely when finished but avoid until then.... I probably will not go back even when done it was so awful
Negative experience: Claims the water is ~23c but they should clearly fix their thermometer. Water actually feels ~18c at end of May on a beautifully warm day. Our 3 year old daughter cried her eyes out because it was too cold and so we left within 30 minutes of arriving. Most others we saw getting in were visibly shocked by its temperature and would either not go in any further or try their best to acclimatise. Guildford council should be ashamed to advertise this for anybody other than cold water swimmers. Changing rooms are currently lacking and even for me the toilet floors were intolerably dirty. Surrounding trees were nice.
Negative experience: Broken building site give it a miss. Same price when 70% of it you can't use. No showers changing rooms or kids paddle area Slides out of action cafe and ice-cream shop shut. Portal loo for a toilet and most of the poolside area is closed of for building work.
Thank you for your honest feedback about your recent visit to Guildford Lido. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by the ongoing building works. We understand your frustration, particularly as these works currently limit access to certain areas. We're currently undergoing a significant refurbishment project to improve the Lido's facilities for the benefit of all our visitors. While it inevitably causes some disruption in the short term, the long-term improvements will be substantial. We try our best to communicate closures and limitations clearly on our website and social media channels. We hope you'll consider returning to Guildford Lido once the refurbishment project is complete. The new facilities will be fantastic, and we're confident you'll enjoy a much more positive experience. In the meantime, if you have any further comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to visit our feedback page: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. We appreciate your understanding.
Fantastic experience: Love the place, being able to swim outside during the summer and winter is amazing
We're delighted to hear you love Guildford Lido! We agree, there's something truly special about being able to enjoy outdoor swimming during the summer months. It's fantastic that you appreciate the opportunity for a refreshing dip even on cooler days. The crisp air can be invigorating after a swim, and the Lido provides a beautiful backdrop for that experience. We value your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts! You can share them directly with our team through our Lido feedback portal: https://bit.ly/LidoFeedback. Thanks again for choosing Guildford Lido. We look forward to welcoming you back for another swim soon, whether it's enjoying the sunshine at the Lido.
Fantastic experience: Guildford Lido is a fantastic place to swim outside; the lido is one of the last 1930s swimming pools remaining. The heated 50m pool is a great place to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. There is limited parking outside the lido, with some disabled parking. Additional parking can be found at Spectrum Park and Ride, approximately a 15-minute walk. It can get busy, plan your visit in advance. Generally, I have only swum at the lido during winter; the pool is heated, but you don't expect to swim in warm water. You can find the current temperature via their social media channels on Facebook and Instagram. Although I don't use them, there are cubicles you can change in before and after your swim. Wetsuits are allowed during the winter; if you don't wear a wetsuit, expect to complete a waiver before your swim. In addition to the pool, Guildford Lido also offers a cafe that serves a variety of food and drinks. Hot and cold beverages, along with snacks, are available. I love swimming at Guildford Lido, particularly on a sunny day. Nothing is better than getting some quality lengths in during the colder months. It's safe, clean and a joy to swim. Guildford Lido is worth visiting whether you're a serious swimmer or just looking to splash around and have fun.
Thank you for such a fantastic review of Guildford Lido! We truly appreciate you highlighting its unique features and the variety of experiences it offers. You're absolutely right; Guildford Lido is one of the few remaining 1930s outdoor pools, adding to its charm and historical significance. The heated 50m pool is perfect for getting some exercise and enjoying the fresh air, no matter the season. We appreciate you mentioning the parking situation. While on-site parking can be limited, the alternative car park at Guildford Spectrum is a great option for those who don't mind a short walk through some pleasant scenery. We also recommend booking tickets online in advance, especially during peak periods. It's fantastic that you enjoy swimming at the Lido throughout the year. As you mentioned, you can find the latest pool temperature on our social media channels, so you can be prepared for your visit. The changing cubicles provide convenient solution for changing before and after your swim. We also appreciate you mentioning our wetsuit policy and the waiver requirement for non-wetsuit wearers during winter months. The Lido's cafe offers a delicious selection of refreshments, perfect for grabbing a bite before or after your swim. We're thrilled you love swimming at Guildford Lido, whether it's for a refreshing dip on a sunny day or some invigorating lengths during winter. It's a truly versatile space for all types of swimmers. Thank you for recommending Guildford Lido to others! We hope to see you back again soon. Positive experience: Great to be there for last swim of the season. Looking forward to the revamp and openjnb ndxt spring. It really needs it!
Fantastic experience: A swimming pool sensation to keep parents and kids happy all day. Pick a sunny warm day and you’ll feel like your on holiday. Food served behind the trees with loads of green grass to sit and relax on. Coffee and teas sold with ice creams for the kids and adults ;)
Fantastic experience: I love this place! Have been going a few years apart from 2020 obvs.. its a great place on a hot day. The pool is brilliant. No one gives anyone else rubbish about what they look like, so every single body type is there without fear or shame. Everyone comes from babes in arms to the elderly. When the afternoon comes its like a wall of noise of joy. The coffee is decent and bizarrely made by kids who also have to lifeguard and sort out rubbish etc so they work hard. One of few places with vegan ice creams Also really good mexican type cafe and ice cream bar run again by young student types who work really quickly, you rarely wait long for food. The toilets are a bit of a challenge as used by people who are wet and got soggy swim stuff on but if you can get past that and being in what is pretty much an outside loo, its all good. Plenty of hot showers and lockers. Tickets are a decent price for a place you can stay from 0930 to 1830. Not far from Guildford station either.
Positive experience: It’s pretty big with some good outdoor areas to leave your towels. Toilets are a bit basic but pool and slides are fun. It was 22c with clouds and sun but we found water too chilly. Parking was ok but I suspect on a hot sunny day it’s would be hard to find a space. Could do with a super large hot tub to warm up and also something like a flow rider
Negative experience: Lido is brilliant but toilets are horrendous! The thought of people going in the pool after using them makes me feel ill. Worst I have seen at an outdoor pool. When will they be updated?
Fantastic experience: What more do you want for the money! Reasonably priced. Weather was roughly 23 degrees so not that busy. Not much queuing for the slides, parking was fine! Plenty of loo roll in the toilets. Showers r warm if the water feels too cold. You can smoke on the grounds and I found the adults were sensible! Moved away from crowded areas and children. Got there at 10.40 and didn’t leave till 3.00. Took our own food although all amenities were open as a precaution! Security guards really friendly including other swimmers and anyone annoyed at the lifeguards blowing their whistles and enforcing the rules! At least they are paying attention and looking out for us. Definitely returning if the weather permits.
Fantastic experience: Great day. Pool and facilities are clean. Reasonable priced food and drinks on site.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic! Cute slides for adults too, a good amount of seating space for picnics and such. Good cafe with ice cream and hot food. Well worth the £7.50 booking :)
Fantastic experience: Went here a week ago for the 1st time and I can confirm it's an absolutely great place to visit for kids and adults alike especially on a nice hot sunny day like we've had recently. They have a few slides for the kids and plenty of green relax on and top up your tans when not in the pool. Plenty of bins nearby to easily dispose of any rubbish and also a car park which is free for the first 4 hours. Will be coming back again!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant sized pool and one of the best dives into investment from taxes for peoples wellbeing. More of our taxes should go into public services like this.
Positive experience: Good day out. Quite expensive. More suitable for older children or advise wearing a wetsuit style costume on smaller children on cooler days. Take your own picnic, blanket, chairs to make the most of it. Cafe quite limited.
Positive experience: Over crowded. Good place tho for a swim. We bought tickets online but managed to walk in with out no checks for tickets. We could have walked In for free no controlls
Positive experience: Good place for the kids to play and swim. Changing rooms weren't very clean when we visited.
Positive experience: Lots of grass to sit on, went on a cloudy but warm day so not too many people. Slides, coffee water.
Positive experience: We come here regularly, staff are nice but they don't all seem to regularly be on the same page regarding pool rules (goggles, snorkels ect. . .) Pool is clean!
Negative experience: Do not trust the lifeguards at this pool. A 5 year old boy who was unsupervised managed to take a scooter in the main pool including waving the handles around where others using the pool could have been injured, yet not one of the four lifeguards on duty, the manager or security team spotted it. The child was using it for well over 15 minutes. I pointed it out to the manager to then get abuse from the useless father and the manager did nothing about it. Shocking management.
Fantastic experience: Went with my toddler on a hot Monday (private schools were on holiday) so was quite full but was still a fantastic day. Toddler bit only has one rectangle sized pool which was very busy and one slide with some busy boards. The other toddler pool was empty which was a shame. The slides opened at 12 which were very popular but the queue went reasonably quick. We brought a picnic but the snack hut looked fab. Very clean and lots of staff around.
