Positive experience: Clean the showers please! The main issue is the black mould in the showers. This has been there for months now. All it needs is a handyman to resilicone it and it's fixed but no one seems to care. I think this falls under health and safety and hygiene? If the gym is going to reply to this could they kindly let me know when they will action this. At most it's a 2 hour job. If this is done they deserve an extra star. And if the below is added it truly would be worth of 5 stars This is a nice gym. Overall clean and great equipment. They could benefit from two of a few of the machines. For example 2 chest press machines two tricep and bicep machines. It could just do with another station of 4 machines as currently it's a small gym and even non peak times you have to wait.

Negative experience: I was there on Friday evening air-conditioning wasn’t working as you could guess could barely breathe filthy and disgusting. I do not understand how people can train in such a environment management extremely poorly. Since then I’ve got flu been at home for the past six days still not feeling better. Extremely disgusting and poorly. I’ve been training for the past 25 years never come across anything like this. Shame
Hi Fazel, thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Negative experience: There are too many people sitting on machines doing naff all looking at their phones. Annoying, just stay on your sofa at home ffs.

Negative experience: Fed up with this gym so I've switched to the one at the Maypole. It's relatively clean and staff are friendly, but it's way too overcrowded. Not enough equipment with limited variety. No one ever puts stuff back in the right place. Can never get on any of the machines, no matter what time of day it is. The best times I've found to go are Friday nights and Sunday morning, and even then it's still relatively busy. Cleaners blast their music at full volume in the changing rooms and hang their dirty squeedgies on the shower hooks which is incredibly unhygenic. Too many judgemental fitness freaks that think they know everything. The amount of times I've been unwantingly approached, mostly by men who love mansplaining. So many influencers who hog the machines for ages and don't even use them properly. I know I can't blame the gym for this, but the vibe in there is very crass and unwelcoming. The one at the Maypole is much better. Reasonably quiet and much bigger variety of equipment with very welcoming vibes.

Positive experience: Bustling gym, fairly good value for money. Good guided varied gym sessions. Choice tends to reflect what the PTs can teach and all types always available. Great if you are determined and self disciplined without a PT or you can hire a PT to advise post injury or other.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, but what fumes me most is the PARKING. Why do people park at the disabled parking when they are not disabled? This is not right. I had to wait for more than 10 minutes to get parking and it wasn’t disabled parking. Otherwise everything is excellent

Positive experience: Firstly it was a confusing issue getting in on aa day pass,I had to go back to.car.and purchase online ,then wait for extra email for pin to access. Once inside it was clean with plenty of equipment although the equipment isn't the best out there it works enough said .I was hoping to see more classes available like PUMP per week, as I need 3/,4 classes of Pump to see a difference, two will never be enough if that's your thing.I was drawn to pure gym because of the extra classes, dead lift weight lifting and squat classes that teach you proper form ,I've not seen such classes available elsewhere so for that alone they deserve a 10/10.They really should offer 3/4 classes of PUMP per week though instead of just two for you to see results as that's a game changer for most people.

Negative experience: Have had to leave this gym because you simply cannot get on anything! It simply isn't big enough for the amount of people in there at peak time. Was great when it first opened and it was up until Bardello's Gym shut - where consequently everyone then joined PureGym, which has made it an absolute nightmare no matter what time of day you go.

Negative experience: Even for a budget gym you don't seem to get what you pay for. I used to go to a gym cheaper than this by £5-£10 and it was much better. It's just not a nice place to go to and never feels welcoming as it somehow always feels crowded even when it's not overly busy. Unfortunately, I will be leaving to go to another gym as I'd rather pay more than stay here. Pros: - Fair range and quantity of equipment. - Affordable price point. At £21 per month it is cheaper than most options in the area. - Decent number of classes with friendly trainers. Those who are already fit, like circuits, and like being pushed to their limit will like it here. - Location at the retail park makes popping to the shops after a workout easy. Cons: - Always dirty and messy. There is nothing to wipe equipment down with, many do not put their weights away, and no staff monitor or remedy this meaning plates are left on equipment, the floor, and anywhere but they should be. When we've mentioned this to staff we're told this doesn't happen, but we have plenty of picture proof that says otherwise. - The classes aren't varied, aren't beginner friendly, and one of the LBT classes is run by a bully. I used to enjoy LBT at my last gym but Antoni put me off doing another class here ever again. At multiple points we were told if we stopped or tried to take a break, he would make everyone else do more reps. For example, he told us to do a 2 minute plank, which is not common practice, and "if anyone's knees touched the floor" he would "restart the timer". The lady next to me was struggling to complete the reps at another point so he decided to belittle her in front of everyone and add more weights to her bar without permission. I think if Antoni wanted to act like a drill sergeant he should have tried his luck at a boot camp rather than bullying a class of women. The approach might work for some, but it's highly inappropriate for a chain gym. - You have to pay for yoga and zumba which makes the "low cost" part of Puregym redundant if you want to do those classes. Like many, I am someone who does not like sitting on a treadmill or cross trainer on the days I need to put down the weights and do cardio, and I love yoga to round out my cardio and weight training. Unfortunately, many of the classes revolve around circuits or cycling, which I don't like. The dance classes are too infrequent, and you must pay an added fee for them. By the time you pay an additional £2-£4 per week you may as well go to Bannatynes or the Village gyms where you get a pool, spa, and access to a lot more classes including different types of yoga, dance fitness and Thai Chi for no additional charge. To put it into perspective, I pay £27 per month for my plus membership and if I did two yoga/dance classes per week it would bump that up to £43. At that point why not pay £50 p/m for a higher-end gym with a pool and better services? Well, I'm going to ♀️ - The retail park location means you often have to queue in traffic to get in and out, especially on weekends. I don't go during rush hour in the week or on Saturdays if I can help it. It also means this puregym isn't 24 hours as I believe the car park has to be closed overnight. - During mornings (6 - 8am), and I imagine at peak times, it's hard to get on some equipment. There aren't enough smith machines, squat racks, or leg presses. There is one incline leg press machine in the building. It can also be hard to find a cable machine, despite there being many in the gym, as they're either busy or not the correct one (they have two different types and the weights vary between them making consistency hard if you're forced to use the other if you're used to one). This means you often have to wait for equipment which isn't always viable if you have to get to work. ⭐⭐ Overall for affordability and range of equipment. Needs improvements in cleanliness and classes on offer.

Negative experience: I moved here as it was closer and more local to me but honestly it’s worth just paying more and going elsewhere. The cleanliness of the this gym is just non existent as mentioned in the other reviews. There are no antibacterial spray bottles and tissues available for people to wipe down and sanitise equipment, every other gym I’ve been to will always have that. You never see any cleaners either which is even more concerning as all other gyms have regular cleaners, I mean it’s a gym and gyms harbour germs and bacteria. The studio floor is filthy just full of hairs and dust not to mention the changing rooms are dirty as well. It’s also a very small gym space, even when it isn’t peak times it feels crowded and you can’t even get on any equipment. The class timetable is just lacking not much option for different classes, not much consistency in them and I can’t wrap my head around having to pay £2 every time you want to book Pilates, Zumba or Yoga? It’s like you wonder why there are always so many spaces available just seems ridiculous. All other gyms I’ve been to all the classes are included in the monthly price. The only good thing is the location but that is subject to me anyways.

Positive experience: The gym has good facilities but parking can be hard during peak hours. It has very very limited parking and it would be appreciated if they arrange for overflow parking during peak hours.

Fantastic experience: As a proud member of Pure Gym in Solihull, I want to share my experience with this gym, which has been nothing short of exceptional. First and foremost, the manager at this location deserves a special mention. Not only is he approachable and easy to chat with, but he went above and beyond to accommodate my fitness needs. I was particularly interested in boxing classes, and although Pure Gym didn't offer them at the time, the manager's dedication to customer satisfaction truly impressed me. He expressed his willingness to invest his own money to acquire the necessary equipment for boxing sessions, demonstrating remarkable professionalism and kindness in catering to members' interests. Apart from the outstanding manager, the gym itself has a lot to offer. The facilities are well-maintained, with a wide range of modern equipment and machines to support various workout routines. The cleanliness and hygiene standards are commendable, ensuring a comfortable environment for all members. However, I must mention one drawback that I've encountered during my membership. At specific times of the day, particularly after school hours, the gym tends to become quite crowded with school kids. While it's great to see young people taking an interest in fitness, their tendency to gather in groups and play around can sometimes be a bit distracting for those seeking a more focused workout. In conclusion, my membership at Pure Gym in Solihull has been a highly positive and fulfilling experience. The manager's dedication to member satisfaction sets a high standard for customer service, and the gym itself provides top-notch facilities. Negative experience: 3 times I have been to this gym to speak to a member of staff, I wanted to sign up for a membership and wanted to have a look inside. You have to wait and buzz for a member of staff who never arrives... this has happened twice. 1st day I stood like a lemon for 15 minutes pressing the buzzer and no member of staff responded. 2nd time I did the same but for approx 10 minutes, same response again. Ignored by staff... on my 2nd visit I even asked 3 gym goers to please send a member of staff to the front, I still did not get a response. My 3rd visit was yesterday, instead of buzzing and waiting I walked right in behind someone. They used there phone to get in and I followed them, I waited in the "reception" area where there was a desk right next to the PT room... could not find anyone again. What a waste, 3 attempts to speak to someone and no joy, guess I will be going elsewhere!

Negative experience: Keep your money. There’s a reason why they are cheap. Very overcrowded With young kids and wannabe bodybuilders. People standing around waiting for equipment. Do yourself a favour and pay a bit more if you want the gym that truly offers an experience for everyone.

Fantastic experience: I joined recent and the facilities are great, lots of space even at peak times. I generally go for PT sessions with Bex who’s such an asset to the gym, has a wonderful positive attitude and cares about her clients wellbeing and comfort.

Positive experience: Showers are too cold to use as temperature is too low.

Positive experience: The gym had noticeably newer equipment than Lichfield and more of it. However, I don't use all of apparatus so this was of little benefit to me. I could not see any paper towels or cleaning equipment to wash down the apparatus after use, which I'd assumed was standard from my Lichfield experience. The venue wasn't too busy, parking was easy, access was a doddle. So, my rating has been based more on expectation, which broadly was the same experience as I'd enjoyed in Lichfield, but without the wipes.

Fantastic experience: Been training with Bex for a little while now and honestly I am amazed at my progress! I can hardly believe it’s me going to the gym or lifting weights! She is an awesome PT!! I’m loving going to the gym. I’m someone who has gone from never stepping foot in a gym to now being super excited for my next session! It’s honestly all down to Bex! Negative experience: Truly repugnant managment. Had to cancel on the basis they are incredibly rude. Funny how several other comments have also mentioned their serious attitude problems... I couldn't think of a more hostile and less welcoming atmosphere when I walk into PureGym Sears Retail park. The pauses in music for the woke, coporate, almost dystopian annoucements are probably the main reason for this. Also the fact that people have been unfriendly on multiple occasions, in their approach to asking if I are using or intending on putting away equipment - desipite the hygiene and tidyness being less than satisfactory. If you're into lifting - the vibes aren't it here, it's good equipment, but I think the price point seems to attract real weirdos. My advice? Pay more, it's more than worth it, to get somewhere clean, friendly and ultimately somewhere you actually feel like you want to go for a workout.

Negative experience: The worst customer service ever I had booked PT sessions with one of their PTs who then started harassing me at 2am to book more sessions after booking these sessions then kept cancelling and asked for a refund which still nothing spoke to guest services who basically said it’s not their issue. These pts are advertised on your website and should be checked and vetted better this puts a bad light on your gym. I have now submitted a claim to court.

Fantastic experience: I paid for a day pass here. Id recently had ACL Surgery so I was in a wheelchair, the staff were very helpful in wheeling me up to the pullup bars ( they were impressed that although one may be old, one can still pull himself up like a gibbon in the amazon). My slight gripe was that they told me I had to put out my disposable BBQ, my burgers were half cooked & I had paid for the day after all. They went to waste. But I stayed in the reception area & ordered myself a KFC. Great comfortable seating & kind staff that threw away the bones for me. Very well recommended

Negative experience: Great as a gym with good equipment for everything I need. The past 4 visits however the showers have been freezing cold! Speaking to others they are finding it the same. One said they have been told that they have been turned down to save money. I understand it's a challenge but surely this is not the best cost saving solution they could come up with ! Negative experience: I have loved joining this gym its been great, until recently the shower temprature has been turned down, and spoilt everything, its too cold now, and hygiene measures have been taken away, its all going a bit budget. If clean kit and a decent shower matter this may not be the gym for you.

Negative experience: We joined when the Sears Retail Park Pure Gym when it opened in November 2022. When we joined we were a little concerned that there may not be enough cardio kit, bikes and cross trainers. And the availability of cleaning spray and towels in the gym was hit and miss, even though there was a regular tannoy message to use the cleaning stations. On Sunday we went to Pure Gym Sears Retail Park and there was a complete absence of equipment cleaning spray and towels, so all the equipment was guaranteed to have everyone else's sweat on it. No cross trainer available, or bike available, and the showers were cold. We spoke to the staff member present about the showers and he said he had had a shower that day, and they weren't the best, and someone had been called out. We return on Tuesday, still no cleaning spray or anything to wipe the kit after use, and the showers are still cold. Spoke to the staff member on duty, and she said that these are cost cutting measures from head office, so nobody has been called out as we were told on Sunday. Cost cutting around health and hygiene is not good, and a cold shower after a work out is unacceptable. Within 6 months of opening a nice gym, they are turring it into a low budget gym. And there are plenty of low budget options at competitive prices.

Fantastic experience: Not long opened when I joined, obs new equipment and very clean and tidy Staff are knowledgeable and very friendly As is the atmosphere in the gym. The only thing at the moment is that it's not 24/7, but it's no biggie

Positive experience: Loved this gym. Free weights on Ground floor. Cardio & weight resistance plus changing rooms on first floor. Gym is new, only opened late in 2022. Only minor criticism (admin related) was that when offering a free 7 day trial, that option should be available in the app. Each time a member of staff had to let me in and out, which took time.

Positive experience: Pro - Great equipment Cons - No WI-FI No hygiene stations - Sometimes there is a spray bottle on top of the bins upstairs but need to get paper towels from the studio. If there is a class in the studio we can’t access the towels. If the gym put a spray bottle and paper towels on the wall in the cardio area upstairs, more people will wipe down equipment after use. I might just leave the equipment sweaty moving forward as no one else wipes down probably for that reason

Positive experience: Nice new gym, good space, good equipment, adequate parking. But isn't 24/7 which is very annoying. Also there's no mobile signal downstairs and it's poor upstairs, and they don't have WiFi.

Fantastic experience: Equipment is brilliant, constant cleaning on site so very clean, great value for money, the changing rooms and showers are great, classes are challenging and make a real difference. I’m looking into getting a PT there. Location is great too, plenty of parking and the shops are so near, a Starbucks is only round the corner too which is handy.

Positive experience: Recently joined, gym equipment is all brand new. There are 9 squat racks total including free standing and i have been during peak hours and it is not so busy! Gym is clean and staff are friendly. There are male and female locker rooms, and a nice big studio if you want to workout solo. Overall, a great small gym and worth the price £20.99.

Negative experience: Luke - Pure gyms Manager should not have the credentials of a Manager. There was no empathy for my complaint and was instead told I had a bad attitude after I expressed that I didn't like his tone of voice and the way he was speaking to me. Advertising free WIFI which is not the case and they have been reported to trading standards. Nothing but a nightmare since signing up, couldn't get the discounted price at £10.99 because I was registered as a friend member, it took two days to get this of the system resulting in me having to sign up at a higher rate despite it not being my fault and unable to sign up on the day I intended. I don't recommend based on the level of customer service, there are many gyms in the area and I would recommend looking at alternative options.

Positive experience: Changing rooms been dirty every time I have been.

Fantastic experience: Really good gym and friendly staff! Best puregym I’ve been to. I know it is on its way but they need WI-FI as the signal is awful.

Fantastic experience: Brand new and all the equipment is fresh The gym isn't huge but it was ample size for the amount of members that attended. Was able to use all the machines i wanted to and there was a decent free weight area. Mens locker room/showers was clean and also fresh as being new. Happy with the gym great job
Negative experience: Average gym, poor maintenance and the locker rooms aren't even cleaned half the time

Positive experience: It’s not bad. Hours are not the most convenient and equipment selection is ok

Negative experience: Not 24 hours which is the only reason I’d join a pure gym. The Gym Group and Anytime Fitness are the only two options people in Solihull have got 24 hours.
