Fantastic experience: I am a stylist working out of the Pinetree building for over a year now. The staff are as welcoming to other staff as they are to the Gym members! They have great knowledge of the gym and are always willing to help, support and guide you with your journey to fitness! I have made great connections with both the staff and the members. The community they have build is so lovely!

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for years for personal training and group classes. Staff are solid and lovely, always there to support and give advice. Carl, Jake, and Andy always give a good spin session. Bobby the dog is a great addition to the gym.

Fantastic experience: A great gym, well equipped with supportive and exceptionally knowledgeable staff. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The range of classes on offer is varied and reviewed to respond to feedback. There are regular fun challenges throughout the year to motivate and have a laugh. I’ve been a member for five years now and it’s the best gym I’ve joined.

Fantastic experience: Student and lodging near the club. Friends recommended and it really is a great gym. What a great place to start the morning or unwind at the end of your day. The gym, Jacuzzi and sauna are all good with a large relaxation area. Brilliant BP and Spinning classes and love the air hockey and free coffee. Any issues we’ve had as members have always been dealt with efficiently as and when time has allowed. The staff are very welcoming and happy to take on any constructive criticism, whilst also dealing with any issues. I disagree with some of the comments in other reviews as most people have been coming to the gym for years. Both my friends and we were clearly communicated the policies related to payments and cancellation. I know one of the people who has left a critical review and he defaulted payment as he left Uni and returned to London. He was lucky they did not pass on to bailiffs! To say the showers are dirty is a disgrace! (This from a lad who was caught using the spa in his old underwear) . The standards are high and staff are always cleaning. My partner has had treatments in the spa and uses the hairdressers ……. All good. There is 2 on site physiotherapists too with good recommendations. I have frozen my membership once and my home Gym does not have this facility. Only criticism is that Pinetree does not have online joining so had to have a meeting before finding out prices etc. Lot of Uni friends have not bothered because of this. They do have a refer a friend policy though.

Fantastic experience: Worth the money, good customer service and great gym and spa. Love the refit, standards have improved and good colour scheme. Great atmosphere and excellent classes. Steve is brilliant and very knowledgeable. Helped me develop with Spinning and advice re muscle issues. Very satisfied

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym and staff.

Negative experience: If I could put zero stars I would unfortunately. Firstly, the joining fee is £49 on top of the £34 you have to pay, which is extremely high for a small basic gym. There isn’t a water fountain which should be a necessity. The atmosphere of the gym itself is little to none, where the music played can vary from top of the pops to none at all, not mentioning when bargain hunt is playing on the TV and speakers. There is only one cable machine in the whole gym that obviously is never available. Additionally, some of the equipment is very worn, where the barbells have a substantial bend in them. The showers are dirty and cold: I wouldn’t want to walk in their bare foot. As I joined during the winter period, it was FREEZING in the gym, where you couldn’t physically warm up. It is very oversubscribed and staff are miserable. Unfortunately I wouldn’t go back.

Positive experience: Remains a well equipped gym and spa. There's always staff available to answer questions or provide support.

Fantastic experience: Good people, good gym

Negative experience: Far too expensive and contracts aren't flexible. Lots of hidden costs e.g £10 per month just to pause your membership. For the price you'd expect things like a water cooler, so I didn't really understand what justified the high price.

Positive experience: Great experience in here, most machines I need for a workout and plenty of classes & other facilities available to use such as a sauna and steam room. Staff are very helpful with any questions and always kept clean and tidy

Fantastic experience: A great gym for all, very mixed membership and very good value, fees include all classes too. There's a good range of both resistance machines and free weights, along with all the usual cardio. Nice spa area with sauna, steam and jacuzzi, pleasent changing room and showers with plenty of space. There's also a great range of hair, beauty and cosmetic professionals on site. Great staff, friendly, professional always available for advice. Not forgetting the free coffee!

Negative experience: Worst gym , don’t join, they will overcharge you!

Negative experience: Worst gym in Newcastle they have charged me for 2 months after I have cancelled. Never join here

Positive experience: Cons: the gym's equipment is fairly limited and the atmosphere is non-existent. Pros: the equipment they do have -- nearly the full compliment of Cybex Eagle kit -- is about as good as it gets. I would strongly recommend ignoring the reviews of anyone who called it "poor". With 3-5 pieces of new kit this would -- despite how they brand themselves -- be the best bodybuilding gym in Newcastle. The spa facilities are a nice plus too.

Negative experience: Terrible gym very out dated horrible staff dirty old gym.

Negative experience: Nice gym with a new refurb and the staff that work in the gym are lovely. When the gyms were closed for the November lockdown, they didn't suspend membership and continued to charge even though you couldn't use the gym for the whole month. They advertised on social media that they would reimburse anyone who couldn't afford to pay ~£35 to get nothing in return for the month - but then point-blank refused when you got in contact with them... You're best off going to a cheaper chain gym and spending the monthly difference ~£20 at the coffee shop next door if you want to support local business...

Positive experience: It's a gym that's close to a lot of people. Decent equipment, friendly staff, nothing to really complain about

Fantastic experience: Love it. Great staff. Ok equipment, it’s not near high end but it works. The staff and classes make up for it.

Negative experience: very poor gym. I do not know how they can justify the price they charge, machines consistently out of use and so is the sauna and jacuzzi, or 'closed for cleaning' for hours on end. Also, staff will ask you to leave half an hour before the advertised closing time. Poor gym all round, faculties and equipment poor quality along with atmosphere.

Negative experience: Don't go here, far too expensive for what it is. Awful, tired equipment and a membership system that makes you jump through a thousand hoops. Seriously dissatisfied customer.
