Negative experience: Guys PLEASE, either you lower the music volume or just stick to ONE radio I can’t be having my ANC headphones at max volume and still hear the classes music and shouting and the normal gym music.

Negative experience: If you take training even slightly seriously I would recommend avoiding. I’ve probably been to ~10 Pure Gyms over the years and this one ranks plum last. It’s clean, the kit is in good condition and the staff seem friendly enough, but this is where the decent parts stop. It gets horrendously busy at peak times. While I’m aware this is normal for gyms, for some reason in this one it is even worse. Not sure if it’s to do with the layout or the sheer number of members, but they desperately need to implement some limits (don’t think this is something Pure Gyms do however). My main complaint is the volume of the class speakers. It’s so unnecessarily loud to where sometimes it overpowers your own headphones if you don’t have noise cancelling on them. Why can I hear every word the instructor is saying from the other end of the gym?? Stick a roof on that room ASAP. A lot of the other bad bits are unfortunately just features of all Pure Gyms (bad WiFi, pointless kit that no one uses, dated treadmills, only 1 bench press) but even the one in the centre of Woking is so much better with what feels like a similar floor space. Build a mezzanine floor for all the cardio equipment like most Pure Gyms in buildings that size and most of the problems will be sorted.

Negative experience: Wow, watching your group exercise instructor who claims to be a ‘highly qualified personal trainer’ take a class where no one is given technique, everyone is performing the exercises so dangerously I couldn’t watch any more!! The class was supposed to be 30 minutes and 40 minutes in he’s still not doing a cool down… no Time management and little coaching, I don’t know where he got his certificate from but it’s worrying

Positive experience: I much prefered the Walton Gym which is bigger and has more varied equipment. Even though older. The ladies changing room, toilets and showers were better situated though. Each area nicely separated.

Negative experience: To give context, my two star rating is not based on the quality of the gym, equipment or quality of the facilities as these were all fantastic but is unfortunately based on the aggressive behaviour displayed by Gym Manager, Chris O’Brian. To give full understanding and context, I had purchased a Day Pass for Puregym Byfleet to come down and train on Wednesday 3rd July. The process for getting a day pass and securing the required pin for entry was seamless and easy to do. Unfortunately upon arriving at the gym though the PIN number wasn’t working, not a problem I thought as there is a buzzer for assistance during staffed hours. No response to the buzzer unfortunately but understandable as both staff I could see were running a class at the time so although not ideal, understandable. Luckily (or so I thought), Chris was making his way toward the entry gates and I was able to get his attention while he was on the way to do something else, he shouted over “I’ll be with you in just a second!” to which I thought “great, problem solved”. Sadly not the case as Chris then returned to the back of the gym and seemed to totally forget that he had somebody waiting for him. Fortunately I was able to get the attention of a member who helped me gain access to the gym so problem solved. I went on to enjoy a good workout and enjoyed the range of equipment available at the gym. Once my workout was finished this is where the real issue started. Upon trying to leave the gym using the pin provided I was unable to exit, admittedly, this was somewhat frustrating but I spotted Chris stood nearby so asked if he could let me out. Now I’ll take some responsibility here as when Chris, somewhat insincerely (but apologising none the less) apologised for not coming back earlier on when he had said he would, I had jokingly said “well, if you say you’re going to come back you should come back” at which point Chris turned into a different person. He quite literally took a step toward me so that he was in my face and started to quite aggressively explain that he was in the middle of a class put on for members (insinuating that those paying for day passes to trial the gym are lesser customers…). Chris went on to say “we are a 24 hour gym so there are mechanisms in place to assist if a pin isn’t working. Not really the point if there are staff there and those staff have said they will be back to help you and then don’t bother. He told me that “theres no need to be rude” (I wasn’t at all). Even if Chris had interpreted what I said to be in anyway rude, his response was in no way proportionate and I would encourage Puregym to review the CCTV of the moment that one of their gym managers stepped up into a paying customers face and tried to intimidate them. Luckily I’m old enough and thick skinned enough to not be easily threatened, but this behaviour, especially in a customer service environment is absolutely not acceptable. I will be looking to make a formal complaint to Puregym on the back of this one experience but think it’s important to let others know of my honest and unbiased experience. A shame as I would have liked to train there again. To give some praise where praise is Due, the lady with the red hair was a gem and aside from my interaction with Chris, I had a really for experience!

We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager. Positive experience: Large space and a range of quality equipment. To enter you have to enter your 8 digit code twice, once on the front door and then again on barriers directly after that. A little irritating but not a deal breaker. The only real issue I've encountered is the bathroom/changing room(mens) was a mess and would make me think twice before even attempting to shower. Note however this is not during staffed hours so I understand a solution could prove difficult.

Negative experience: the gym at PureGym Byfleet is very correct in terms of equipment. The only complain so far is the lady teaching zoom evenings...she is so loud (there is no door) that no one can quietly do his work-out! a nightmare...

Fantastic experience: Love love LOVE Amba's dance class- so much fun. Hardly feels like a work out when youre having so much fun! So much better as an evening class to destress after a busy day. We need more of Amba's dance class!!!

Negative experience: Good equipment but if your driving don’t stay long at the gym the owner of the parking will fine you even though your at the gym that time and registered your plate num ber the company will ignore and still you need to fine. Not recommended to the people that drives.
Fantastic experience: Works perfectly for me around my work being 24hr. Always enough weight for me when I need them too go heavy
Negative experience: Every time I go to this gym the equipment is being used for classes and therefore I can’t use the equipment, I have complained a couple of time about lack of equipment and goes on death ears……. Sucks !
Positive experience: Good gym with a good amount of equipment, this gym does the job but the only thing bad about it, is that no one seems to put the weights away after using them. Other than that, perfect!
Positive experience: Was not too bad, just expected a bigger place, but you can find everything you are looking for, could be annoying to find a parking space during busy times due to the many business next to the gym that use the same car park.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. Nice size, nice choice of classes to choose from. Good selection of equipment. Staff are really friendly, helpful and feel comfortable as I go alone and not very confident but this is helping my confidence too and so happy local.

Positive experience: New gym so the equipment is in a decent condition but it can get busy. Some of the equipment is placed very close together especially the running machines and bikes. Unfortunately the state of the showering facilities are already starting decline.

Negative experience: Gym is fine but when a class is on they put the music so loud you can’t hear your own music. I’ve walked out the gym twice now because I can’t listen to my music as the class music is louder than my headphones.

Negative experience: Nothing to wipe down machines. Got told to buy my towel. Most of equipment is dirty and sweaty as a result.

Positive experience: Brand new equipment and unlike some other gyms I have been to, the equipment is nicely spread out so you aren't getting in people's way. There has been enough equipment when I have been but I can see how in peak times you may have to wait for a short period. Amazing value compared to any other gym in the area. The best Puregym/24hr gym I have been to and therefore 5* star in its market. However, hard to give 5 star because even though it is great value and best in what its trying to achieve, it's just in a different market to the premium gyms. If you want a spacious, 24hr gym for great value, well worth it. UPDATE The app is great at working out the quieter times to go. On quieter work days it's great just being able to use the app to check the live number of people in there.

Positive experience: Promising gym just needs a few tweaks. Sanitizing stations to wipe down equipment after use and it's lacking few assisted weighted machines pec fly and lateral shoulder raise machine.

Negative experience: Positive are good shower facilities and good equipment (when not broken). Mostly nice people, and one or two nice managers. Negatives are the music for the sessions is absolutely blaring. I'm young and it is ridiculously loud. This isn't helped by having no ceiling on the classes room and some classes take part in the open area, not only taking up equipment but amplifying the blaring music. Also when you go in, there is always bound to be one machine broken, so far I have seen calf press, leg press, sports water, vending machine, and a crossfit trainer. And these take almost a a week to fix. Furthermore, no tvs and WiFi doesn't cover the whole site. Additionally, the vending machines are so damn expensive. Overall disappointing, only staying as I am paying 15 pound a month.

Staff should undertake regular volume checks for the safety and comfort of our members, but if you approach the Gym Manager with more info they can look into this. Staff undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Fantastic experience: Just finished a month here and have to move so can't stay longer. Thought it only fare I should write a positive review because I wrote a rather scathing one a few years ago about Walton (I think they've gotten better recently but still way too much attitude). Byfleet was excellent; the total opposite. I really liked the manager Chris, he was friendly and welcoming to everyone and stayed busy all day by cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Really appreciate it and didn't want it to go unnoticed. Also great to see the trainer Amber (spelling, sorry) looked fun, and obviously knew what she was talking about having competed. Too many trainers talk the talk but don't walk the walk. I already recommended her to a friend. All the other staff seemed friendly enough so keep up the good work, positive attitudes and lead by example with your own training. Cheers, back next year.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic location always very clean with friendly staff. I used to go to another Pure Gym but I transferred here, it’s a much more enjoyable gym with a lot more space and better layout. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: It used to be a great gym, but the standards have dropped significantly. The staff have become lenient and unmotivated, with little oversight from management. Despite having plenty of staff on-site, the disabled toilet has been out of order for three months, and soap is consistently missing. Main one toilet is always in disgusting state!

PureGym offer a range of free classes for members to enjoy! Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and a great vibe. Cardio machines are more basic then expensive gyms but do what you need them to do. Large weights area, changing rooms and plenty of lockers. Have attended two classes which were well run and easy to book/cancel on the app.

Negative experience: I'm a long term user of gym and classes. I've been two classes soo far and not impressed. The first one was supposed to be 30 minutes and the trainer stopped after 20. After we pointed this out, he continued. However, that was unprofessional and was Medicare. This was Sweat. The second class was supposed to be legs, bums and tums. No trainer showed up and we had to get someone to find someone. Once we found the Personal Trainer he explained that he wasn't supposed to take the class and took it anyway. It wasn't very good as he had to make it up and PureGym did not even notify us on the app. Fair to say, not impressed soo far.
Fantastic experience: Gym
Negative experience: Was excited about this gym but sadly it’s more than disappointing. I am not sure if there is air con inside but it’s extremely hot, too hot to workout it really it like a sauna. Also the equipment is not great, some machines are already broken and it’s a new gym (2 weeks old)?? Very busy can hardly use anything. Treadmills are bad, they don’t even have a screen…. Everything is just a shame.
Negative experience: I called at the gym today to see if I could be shown around to decide if I want to join. I rang the call bell for assistance - no response. I called "excuse me" to attract the attention of staff who ignored me although one did wave and gave a thumbs up but then disappeared. Someone leaving also tried to attract attention for me - they too failed. As a new gym I would have expected to be surrounded by staff trying to sell a membership or at the very least to be spoken to. I may call and try again but probably won't
Fantastic experience: Nice looking gym. Everything what you expect from PureGym. Brand new equipment, clean and bright. It was a bit dirty around New year's resolutions time, some things were broken for quite long time, but it's good now.
Negative experience: Incredibly disappointed about this gym. So hot inside it seems a sauna!!! Everything is so crowded and makes it feel very uncomfortable to work out. Definitely will change and not come again! More than awfull!!!!
Negative experience: Long time gym user but very disappointed with this new gym. Succinctly put, it lacks equipment considering it's size. Sadly also, management seem more interested in talking amongst themselves rather than keeping an eye on those who leave they backpacks lying around on the floor/next to benches to reserve them whilst they workout elsewhere. I have not yet used the classes but they do appear to be well run hence the 2nd star. Gym is also clean but it only just opened so that is to be expected. Disappointing addition to the Puregym portfolio sadly. Happy to discuss in further detail but definitely not worth the £37.99 plus membership cost.
