Our comment from FitFit UK about Virgin Active:
Virgin Active in London offers an excellent fitness experience, frequently praised for its beautiful and spacious facilities. Many users specifically highlight the spa area, which features relaxing amenities such as a large jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. The gym is equipped with a good selection of machines and free weights, catering to a variety of workouts.
Positive feedback also emphasizes the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Many members appreciate the welcoming reception and the professional guidance provided by the team. The club is often described as clean and well-maintained, which contributes to the overall enjoyable experience.
However, there are notable concerns regarding customer service and billing practices. Several users reported issues with overcharging and difficulties in cancellations, leading to dissatisfaction. The gym has also been described as overcrowded at peak times, which hampers the experience for some members. Additionally, maintenance issues, such as shower cleanliness and equipment availability, have been mentioned.
Overall, Virgin Active London provides a great fitness environment with top-notch facilities, although potential members should be aware of some customer service challenges.

Virgin Active: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Excellent! Beautiful place!
Fantastic experience: One of the best branches after Canon Street I would say especially spa. Good facility and lovely staffs too.
Thanks Sally! this is my favourite also!
Negative experience: The gym, equipment & facilities are ok (although shampoo containers are mouldy on the bottom so take your own). However, the customer service & dishonestly of Virgin Active Aldersgate is appalling. I signed up for 12 months, but then froze for a month in August for a holiday which caused all sorts of confusion which then got sorted. Then when putting in my notice via email and face to face with the club this somehow wasn’t logged and I am now being charged £156 per month (vs £108) for a rolling contract I never requested (because my 12 months was over). I have asked the club for my money back and my ties with the club to be ended immediately, after showing all my evidence, but only got a strange response about being on a rolling contact (which again I never asked for). I use to suggest Virgin Active to friends moving gyms but I would never now, unfortunately.
Negative experience: I have requested multiple times to cancel the membership and virgin active Aldersgate St Paul’s keeps over charging me every month.Staff not helpful disappointed with the service never coming back again.Very poor customer service and very bad communication.Reception very unprofessional
Fantastic experience: One of the best gym in the world with all the facilities, all international celebrities prefer this in London , though they have expanded it to Singapore, Australia and soon they will have their facilities in India
Negative experience: Customer service doesn’t exist in virgin active… came from Mayfair to aldersgate because Mayfair spa was closed without any notice or notification in the app… at aldersgate they use padlocks for the lockers so I asked to get one as Mayfair use wristband sorry we don’t have it… always the same excuse. Can I buy one no we sold out WTF time to cancel and go Third Space… WASTE OF TIME
Negative experience: Nice facilities, but £35 for a 2hr pass ? Extortionate.
Hi Ian Thank you for the feedback regarding our guestpasses. You do receive two guest passes when you join us. You’ll then receive three every year, on your birthday. We also allocated on special occasions! make sure to always check app and emails for these!
Negative experience: Beware of the £20 per month charge for freezing your account (i.e., paying for the privilege of not going to the gym). Automatically charged on top of the usual cost once unfrozen. Definitely canceling after 12 months is up and spending my money elsewhere. Shocking service via email as well. Takes about two weeks to get a response. Response doesn't answer your question. Around in circles you go.
Hi Courtenay Thank you for the feedback. We have our freeze option in place to allow members to maintain membership with us which many use when going abroad and can return when they are ready. All member pays freeze fee charge dependent on their local club rate unless medical with evidence. Any issues regarding membership can be dealt with by giving us a call directly on 0207 717 9000 or speaking to local team at club.
Fantastic experience: I was very well received at the reception by Ikenna, and everyone treated us politely and guided us as we needed. This is very important in my view. I also feel very good, because after training I can enjoy a delicious shower and it has what we need (for women), hairdryer, straightener, etc... I just think there is a lack of a canteen to sell healthy things to eat. Thank you. I really like this gym.
Hi Marisa, thanks for the feedback. Happy to hear you enjoy our clubs.
Negative experience: Reception - very unprofessional reception 15.04.2024 evening shift.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with our reception team. Providing professional and courteous service is important to us, and I apologise if we fell short of your expectations. Your feedback is valuable, and I'll make sure to address this with our team to ensure that we maintain a high standard of service at all times. If you'd like to provide more details or discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us. - Elliot
Fantastic experience: Love this gym. All staff were super lovely and helpful every time I'm there :) I love the vibe and the look of the spa and the gym.

Fantastic experience: Rahul has showed me around the gym and definitely made me believe this is the perfect gym for me! The gym looks very nice
We're delighted to hear about your positive experience with Rahul during your tour. We strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for all our members. Should you need any further assistance or have any questions, feel free to reach out to us. We look forward to seeing you at the gym! - Elliot
Negative experience: Few different weight plates which make it very messy. Everyone just leave the plates on the machine after using it because the weight plates does not have a holder at the side. Stick with one mind of weight plates. For eg: technogym.
Positive experience: What kind of gym closes at 4pm excuse me we pay so much money for this membership you wanna close at 4pm on Saturday
Fantastic experience: Really relaxing zen atmosphere. Clean facilities, not too busy.
Fantastic experience: Updated review: Great staff, and sauna now fixed. Thanks to the local GM for getting this sorted.
Negative experience: Terrible gym. Hold you to contact ehich abve expired. Badly managed.
Fantastic experience: Virgin Active ....to me it is a synonymous of THE top quality I was a member for years then I left for years and now I'm back hopefully for years to come
Negative experience: Free weight section has recently been changed. Terrible free weights, which are difficult to grip. The weights they had before were great so no idea why they have been changed. Sauna and pool area is great!
Positive experience: The best virgin active in London, specially in regards to it's spa area.
Negative experience: After a year, I am cancelling my membership because customer service was a nightmare. I have originally signed up for a 12-month contract at a discounted rate. Due to some pausing I did, the end of my term has been extended. Without any notification, my card was charged with a higher amount last month. As soon as I saw it, I called their customer service a few times, and the first agent I got a hold of could not explain the situation to me. I asked for a call back but it never happened so I emailed them about the situation. I tried to call again and this time I was able to talk to someone who could explain the situation. I asked them why they charged me a different amount without notice and he said someone should have called or notified me ahead of time and that he would then refund me and send an email. I then waited again for that email but after another day passed, I received a response to my initial email which said a different thing - a soulless message saying they could change the amount because the 12-month contract has passed and that it's part of the conditions of my contract. Honestly, this really leaves a bad taste. For the kind of club that you're portraying to be and the amount I am paying monthly, I would rather take my money somewhere else. And this was totally illegal that you've just charged me a different amount without consent.
Fantastic experience: Best virgin active club.
Fantastic experience: I went today, Oliver at the reception was very welcoming and helpful.
Fantastic experience: After moving back to Canada, I miss this gym so much not sure if they still have it, but with my private health insurance, Virgin active membership was half off a few years back.
Fantastic experience: Great place ! And also the management team especially Jennifer who has been most supportive and helpful.
Negative experience: I was rather put off by the drain flies! I did some research to learn about why these flies occur in showers and then promptly decided not to return.
Fantastic experience: I LOOVED MY EXPERIENCE THERE, I FELT LIKE I WAS BORN AGAIN, THE GUYS AT THE ENTRANCE WAS VERY WELCOMING AND I WILL LOVE TO RECEIVE SOME OFFER ABOUT THE PLACE AS I AM VERY KEEN TO START A MEMBERSHIP WITH THEM, I LOVES THE SPA AND THE GYM THEY HAVE...
Negative experience: Worst gym in London quality for price
Negative experience: I went there with my husband to learn membership options. Someone in stuff recommended us £179 per month for unlimited access. We asked that if there is other membership cheaper we want that. First, staff member said there is no other membership options. And then we said there is £69 per month membership on their website. And suddenly he remembered (!) and said “oh yeah there is £69 per month membership but you can only use 9-11 am, 2-4 pm, 8 pm to closing on weekdays and 12 pm to closing time on weekends.” We said that is what we want. When we wanted to pay by credit card they said if we want to choose £69 per month membership we should have a UK bank account but if we choose £179 per month this is not necessary. They also said they accept Revolut account. We transferred money from our non UK bank account to our Revolut account and the other day went there to complete our membership. The guy behind the desk who informed us as to the membership option with £69 per month membership with a time restriction came towards us and said if we have a membership for £69 per month we can access to the gym only 4 times in a month. He also said he is sorry for misleading us. They unequivocally misrepresented us. They are trying to earn more money from you like there is no other option. And also they are misrepresenting on their website too.
Positive experience: Virgin Active Bromley is a family gym. The children swimming lessons are great and so is the crèche. My children always enjoy going swimming and then spend a few hours in the crèche while I hit the gym. The classes are great and they have reformer pilates which is fantastic. There is also a cafe and a tiny soft play to keep little ones entertained. Overall I am satisfied with the gym but I think it is pretty expensive and they can do a better job of making sure everything is always working. The jacuzzi breaks quite often and it takes a while to get fixed which is frustrating. Sometimes the showers are dirty and broken and it takes a while to fix them. Everything looks a little bit dated so if you’re looking for a hyper modern gym then this is probably not the one.
Fantastic experience: Amazing service, staffs are great! Gym facilities very good.
Fantastic experience: Wow what a spa. Pics not allowed otherwise i would have uploaded some amazing features. Rainforest shower, big steam sauna, huge spa pool which takes the stresses away. An antidote to the chaos that is London
Negative experience: The pool, sauna and jacuzzi and changing facilities are decent. Cardio equipment levels are excellent. Unfortunately, this is where it stops. Only 2 squat racks, dumbells stop at 42KG max, single lat pull down, single cable row , no dedicated deadlift platform -- the free weights area is a tiny after thought section of the gym. Even pureGym is much better equipped. also this gym has become extremely busy recently so you have to weight for free weights. Still not bad for most people, however personal training is where it's really disappointing. Customer service is non-existent, majority of staff cannot afford to smile (except the new hire reception staff). I had various personal training cancelled, last minute with no courtesy of a phone call to re-arrange. The personal training staff are more interested in signing up people to direct debits than actually providing training. Some staff lack knowledge of common exercises. My access was blocked for no reason for two weeks, every day being told "It's getting sorted out head office" (they manually let me enter). I have no switched to Nuffield Barbican and what a refreshing experience. Brand new state of the art well equipped gym on the first floor (so there's sun light to see), very friendly staff and excellent all around - and cheaper. VA Aldersgate is in the basement so it feel like a dungeon and this is supposed to be a top tier club.
Negative experience: The new management needs to get a real grip on how the club is run and mainly on now to insure that the customers needs are met. For 3 months the club which is a classic tier was ramp packed with new customers that were from the angel gym, a gym that’s 2 tiers lower! The justification from the MD was that it’s because their spa is broken and aldergate is the closest gym! After doing my own research on 3 different platforms moorgate is actually the closeted one and the management was WRONG! The spa was overwhelmed with people, the gym floor was crammed! It was like being at the gym group! After meeting the MD and having an argument about why this is happening and it’s unjustified and how we the classic people who pay twice as much have got it bad and need compensation, the answer I received was shocking, horrifying and absolutely the most unprofessional answer I’ve ever heard. The answer was “if you are unhappy with the membership then you can freeze your membership until the gym gets less busy !” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I, a serious gym goer who works out 6 days a week, was being told by the MD to freeze my membership where I wouldn’t be able to go to a gym, train, improve my physical and mental well-being! This goes against the entire ethos and business value proposition of virign active! When I asked to boost my tire up I was point blank refused and shouted and screamed at! I was made to feel belittled and embarrassed! I’ve never made to feel this way! It was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life, where the top management was made a customer feel like they are worthless. Clearly the lack of experience is showing. The worst part is the lies that were being shoved in our faces. We were told the gym would be busy with members from Angel gym for 3 weeks. This carried on for 3 excruciating months!!! Week after week we were lied to! Yet we didn’t receive any compensation! 0! Nothing! This is the kind of gym Virign active is. This is the level of unexperienced customer service you have from top management . I would never recommend this gym to anyone. Once my contract is up I’m moving to Third space or Gym box!
Negative experience: Went there as virgins another clubs member eve though I booked through the app and they confirmed the club is available for us to use too, When at the reception host made it clear to everyone that as I am from a “ cheap club” I can not use the service How professional isn’t it!
Fantastic experience: Friend of mine invited me as a guest. I only tried spa, sauna and steam bath. Great facilities, highly recommend, especially if you need a rest after busy day at work.
Fantastic experience: The gym is great and the staff are excellent! I was really impressed with how the staff and team dealt with the Covid epidemic and the facilities and changing rooms are always clean and tidy! The pool and spa facilities are great and the venue is rarely overly busy. Currently we have overspill from another gym whose spa is being fixed so it’s been a bit busier than normal but hopefully will be back to normal soon. There is a good range of equipment and it’s maintained to a good standard.
Fantastic experience: Thanks for letting us use the facilities while Angel is being refurbished. Had a lovely time, the spa is lovely - a proper place to unwind and the fact you get no phone signal, although wifi us available, means one can really zone out for an hour or two :) Definitely recommend!
Positive experience: Good club. Better than typical virgin active club. Use to supply bath robes for the spa. If you are listening, please bring back that facility!!!
Fantastic experience: A good gym with excellent facilities. They have a lovely lounge area too. One thing is that the tea and coffee isn't free which is a bit cheap in my opinion, given the cost of the membership.
Positive experience: Nice gym and spa, however not great considering monthly fee charged, there are other gyms that offer better value and service for money
Negative experience: Amended my review as the gym was great... but this last year the Aldersgate branch service has been poor. The gym is over capacity and it is very difficult to get on any equipment (especially weights) in peak hours. The spar/ swimming pool area is often closed due to maintenance /repairs and even this month I have had several emails stating entire gym closures for the same reason. For how much is charged monthly it is not worth it. I cancelled my membership and was even charged additional fees which I was not made aware of. Really disappointing as a lot of staff here are very friendly.
Negative experience: Always super busy and everyone is trying to sell you something. Really feels cheap for a gym that starts at £100 a month.
Negative experience: Great gym but service during lockdown has let them down. Have twice started taking money from me, without notification. When I call I am told they are busy and will get back in touch - they havent. Direct debit cancelled, will find another gym. Update... Now they have set debt collectors on me after refusing to send me the payment and data information I have requested. Awful company. Best avoided.
Positive experience: Nice gym for cardio and yoga. But no good for deadlifting or any type of strongman training
Thank you for you review. Feedback is really valuable to us. All our memberships are currently Multi Access where our members can enjoy our other clubs and their each unique facilities. If you would like to let us know your membership ID we can reach out to you and find the best club suited for your workout needs.
Negative experience: Went again since the end of the pandemic and overall, this is probably the best match for me in terms of the local Virgin Active gyms out there in the City. I am still desperately missing the ex Mansion House Virgin Active gym and the Tower Bridge which were super convenient for me pre pandemic but, what can you do, it has now closed for good, unfortunately..... However, I am still very annoyed on the fact that they are closing at 4pm during weekends..! This is way too early, everyone in the gym I am speaking to says the same thing and I have repeatedly asked for it to be changed to at least 5pm but, they are simply not listening and I am finding this more and more frustrating..! And then, yesterday, as I was looking forward to my gym session, a defaulted fire alarm kicked in and left all customers in the street, some in towels or in shorts. As the problem couldn't be resolved, I simply couldn't go and had to go home, frustrated, same as all other customers + regular issues with the showers and swimming pool, etc. Is it now time to perhaps consider changing gym?
Thank you for your review. We really appreciate the feedback and hope we can push to 5/5 in the future. Your comments will help us to do this.
Negative experience: I tried to appeal to the head office regarding their Singaporean branch, but they didn't answer. Now about their Singaporean part of the business: I would say that this is a great fitness club idea and its poor implementation. Well-equipped gyms, including swimming pools and spa areas; convenient app; skilled coaches. But indifferent and unprofessional management spoils everything. Of course, they know how to smile, and initially, it seems that everything is fantastic. But, as soon as you have any issues with them, you will immediately understand me. I tried to shift my app from one gym location to another one, and it took over several weeks; they tried to find a trainer for me for two weeks; when I relocated from Singapore they mistakenly withdrawal extra SGD 1.5K from my credit card on December 16, 2020, and they didn't return funds yet. I am not familiar with Virgin Active London, but I suggest to be careful with this brand. Answering to the Virgin's reply: Many thanks for your post here. There were a few emails to you but you didn't reply. Anyway, it motivated your Singaporean colleagues to answer me recently and I received my funds. This process took only a couple of days instead 1 month when someone tried do it.
Negative experience: WARNING!!! to all members!!! Check your direct debits/charges from Virgin Active as they've been charging some amounts during the lockdown despite having frozen membership! Unbelievable. Unlikely you'll get your money back because they have no customer service.
Positive experience: This is my favourite Virgin Active gym. The spa is amazing. But there are two things which I find annoying. Other members lock their locker and leave it locked. It's getting harder to find an available locker. I'd appreciate if everyone would take their stuff once they finish. The second thing is the space in spa. It's also hard to get there as there are always five people chilling for a while.
Positive experience: Please be aware it closes at 8.00 PM on Friday not 9.00 PM as listed here on Google. Quite frustrating since I travelled 30 minutes to use the pool but at least the staff on duty apologised. Please update your times to avoid wasting people's time. Otherwise decent gym.
Negative experience: I was delighted with the service until the pandemic hit. I have ben charged 2 consecutive moths despite my membership is frozen. Why do you have this option if it is simply NOT true? You have NO EMAIL we can contact. You have NOONE taking phone calls (last time I tried I was 25 minutes waiting for a response) I went to the London Wall gym (Aldersgate I believe) , which is open, to be able to speak to someone. Incredible I have to do this to get some costumer service. I was advise this was going to be resolved. I received an email confirming that the payment I had done will be saved until the membership was unfrozen but... A couple of days ago a full month direct debit payment came through. What the hell guys? What bothers me the most is that NOONE is talking to me, no-one is communicating. What kind of costumer service is this?
Negative experience: Rude Staff/Management wouldn’t advise anyone to go to this gym if you expect good customer service stay away!
Fantastic experience: Great facility, very clean and neat. They're very strict when it comes to the Covid protocols which is great, really made sure it is a safe place. I love the spa and sauna, very relaxing.
Negative experience: Wow......I'm guessing Virgin Active is thinking about ceasing trading? I certainly can't get hold of anyone by phone, email....perhaps I should try faxing?! My family are/were looking to join the Brighton club. I've called twice now to try and book a time to go and visit. Held for 15 minutes each time, no answer. Submitted a request by email. Nothing. Rang Head Office. Nothing. Fab service guys
Fantastic experience: This fitness club offers a lot of different classes throughout the week and has a wide variety of gym free stand and support machines. There are studios for spinning, yoga and other classes. The swimming and spa area are really great and clean.
Positive experience: Swimming jacuzzi amazing just price is double if they make half price could be perfect
Positive experience: If you're using the ab crunch machine with just the two plates, you'd be working much harder reaching forward from the settee for your next rummage in the biscuit barrel
Negative experience: Not a bad office. It's just run by unprofessional individuals that don't run any sort of updates. Bad internal communication
Positive experience: This is a high quality gym with good equipment , a great selection of classes in terms of both times and variety. The spa area is also great — large jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The staff are generally friendly and the instructors are motivating. The gym floor is busy during peak times in the morning, lunchtimes and after work. It is expensive, but provides good amenities such as towels and robes.
Negative experience: Terrible customer service that put me off subscribing when I came to check out their facilities.
Positive experience: Brilliant gym in the city with loads of equipment and classes. Only downside I have found in my 2 years of use is some of the other members can be extremely rude.
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym with good equipments. Trainers and staff are really helpful. Definitely one of my favourite Virgin gyms.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with fantastic classes
Fantastic experience: Fully equipped and quiet enough to enjoy all services offered. A great spa too
Fantastic experience: A+ cant fault this gym
Fantastic experience: Wonderful gym, in particular the staff - special mention to Kostas on reception, always smiling!
Fantastic experience: Really nice gym and facilities. Staff are really friendly as well, especially RJ and Blayke. Both go above and beyond to help you if you need it.
Negative experience: Over priced and the staff are idiots. I was paying over 100£ for membership and they refused one a guest of mine to enter the club one time
Positive experience: Sauna and steam room finally working properly.
Fantastic experience: Very kind personnel, well-organized and clean gym. Always a pleasure to go there.
Negative experience: Nice gym. Lots of spaces for classes in the evening. Typically open longer than other gyms. The steam room is cold and not really working well most of the times. Often runs out of shower gel, hair conditioner, and body lotion. Shower has very little pressure.
Positive experience: Nice gym ... getting a bit crowded now and the changing rooms sometimes get a bit untidy (you’d expect more attention for the price). Staff are really friendly but just don’t ask them any questions - they can never help! But they are friendly and polite. Gym classes are good and the equipment range is good. Location is great.
Negative experience: Gym itself is ok, showers are lousy; no water pressure, most soap dispensers not working (and haven’t been for months), mould in many places. Staff take the feedback nicely and pass it on I’m sure but the centre itself is clearly not getting the resources to address it.
Negative experience: Poor management and very rude staff. A cleaner shouted in my face whilst I n the showers and made expectionally hurtful comments. You pay through the nose and your treated worse than the staff.
Positive experience: good classes but really smelly toilets!
Fantastic experience: Best gym I've ever visited. They have all equipment and it's not too crowded. Very helpful staff and excellent PTs!
Positive experience: Decent space and equipment. They should have female steam and sauna like the barbican one. Thry have enough space for it
Positive experience: Nice running track in the gym. Slightly confusing lay out but seems like a good gym. I've only been a few timesmid afternoon - so can't comment on how it is at busier times e.g Monday 6pm onwards.
Positive experience: Virgin Active Barbican - a level two gym in Virgin lingo - is a mixed bag with plenty of great attributes and room for improvement. The areas that need improvement include the weights areas (regularly in disarray with plates and dumbells littered around), the cleanliness of the changing rooms (floors are soaked most of the time) and the cleanliness of the machines. The great attributes include the staff (extraordinarily friendly, efficient, helpful especially Amy at front of house who is a natural problem solver), the class schedule, the running track, the location and the large fitness rooms. Having been to about ten Virgin Active locations in London ranging from Mayfair to Angel I can confidently say this location is huge! It features three levels, a 25 meter swimming pool, a large jacuzzi, a large cafe with sofas, an indoor a track and sauna/steam rooms in each of the two changing rooms. However the configuration of the weights and machines area is not ideal. The weights area and cardio machines are spread across different rooms, corners and sections around the running track. This causes plates and dumbells to be littered around on a regular basis. The solution to the problems listed should be tackled by management in two fronts. First, allocate more hours of staff to circulate the gym floor and restack the weights, clean the machines and keep the floors in the changing room dry. Secondly, and equally important, educate members about gym etiquette through signage and reminders. The notice should say, "out of respect for your fellow gym goers, leave the floor space and machines better than you found them". Virgin Active Barbican is a good gym that could be great with a focus on the fundamentals of a gym operation.
Negative experience: Friendly staff, great location, dirty loos and worms in the showers
Positive experience: Old damaged equipment, one changing room is pointless as it got no access to the pool(no sign on it so you have to learn it the hard way) Worst virgin active I been so far.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, excellent facilities and classes.
Fantastic experience: Good, big gym. Clean, friendly and plenty workout opportunities for cardio and muscle building. Includes a pool. Classes are offered here as well.
Positive experience: Spacious gym, but poorly maintained. Wooden panels in the sauna come off, main entrance door is out of use for ca 2 months now, showers don't work. Wonder what it takes for the management to do something about it?
Negative experience: Shocking customer service, absolute liars, Was promised offered to have my membership cancelled by there phone team as don't use it, (local fineness first is much better) took TWO MONTHS for Harj to get back to me. They then say that they have no record of the conversation.
Fantastic experience: I would like to appreciate the great attention received by NIMAO last Saturday. She helped me and showed me all the facilities explaining everything because I was lost. It was the first time that I went to this gym and she gave me a lot of life there. Thank you
Positive experience: You get what you pay for and this gym has great service. The classes are extremly good especially Adrian who does body pump classes weekly. Ive been able to use other vigin Active gyms around the uk and world wide such as Portugal and its interesting comparing. BARBICAN is used by hundreds of people dailey so slight cleaning issues such us dust build up at the weekends but other than this a great space. The pool can be a little cold and not sure why the one in ANGEL is warmer. At the time of writing this the club was having issues with residents complainingabout noise levels in studio one class..some teachers such as Adrian are brillant at implementing safty and quieter methods. As well as sound proofing i would suggest slient disco headphones so the music can be as high as any individual wants. I THINK the idea could catch on
Fantastic experience: Best virgin active ever. Great classes, gym floor, layout, air con, no idea why this isn’t a collection club.
Fantastic experience: I love Virgin Aldersgate! The staff is lovely and helpful and facilities are always kept clean. It is worth the money and never crowded!
Positive experience: The gym is very well equipped with plenty on space. The front desk staff are lovely. The only issue is that the pool is arctic. You need to be a really dedicated swimmer to get in. It’s really really cold. I’ve even tried having a cold shower to lesson the impact, but it doesn’t really help.
Fantastic experience: My favourite chain of gym! It has steam sauna and a pool with jacuzzi. Well train PT and good number of classes to attend
Fantastic experience: The most loveliest gym. Today I took a guest. So many gyms make it so difficult but the chap on the reception took her details so quickly and welcomed her in. We had the best time. If only I could remember his name to thank him properly. Thank you so much Virgin Active Barbican, you are SO what Virgin Active is all about x x x
Fantastic experience: I'm a long time Virgin Active member. I used Barbican yesterday which isn't my home club. I stupidly left my watch and bracelet in the locker and I am so grateful that when I called today they had both items safe in their Lost Property. It's an expensive watch and thank you to whoever handed it in. And thanks to the really helpful staff today as I called a few times. Nice gym and it's nice to have a women's only sauna and steam compared to other clubs.
Fantastic experience: Local gym and it has everything I need to do my daily workouts!
Positive experience: The club looks good and is very spacious. Another bonus is the availability of free hot drinks. However, my real frustration is the lack of availability of some gym equipment. For the very high price of the gym, you would expect them to be able to provide certain things, such as ankle weights, wooden stretching bars, etc. I pointed this out to them a while ago but they didn't seem to care at all. I said it wasn't really acceptable since these things are very cheap to obtain and for such a high end pricey gym, you would expect them to at least show some sort of caring for their customer wishes. It's quite unfortunate really as otherwise it's a good gym. Unfortunately I have decided to cancel because paying a high price just for free hot drinks and more space when they refuse to care about customer support, is not worth it.
Fantastic experience: This made me want to pay extortionate prices for gym membership (...p.s I'm skinny and barely able to retain weight plus my physical health is pretty average ...I have no need to attend a gym let alone get a membership but this place is everything and then some )
Positive experience: Wimbledon location is small and needs higher ceilings. They recently cut the hours they are open - which is not cool.
Positive experience: One of the better Virgin actives, but starting to get a bit tired now.
Fantastic experience: My favourite among all VurginActive gyms (and all gyms) in London. Lots of different classes with well qualified instructors, swimming pool and wonderful spa facilities.
Fantastic experience: Great classes and equipment, small swimming pool (18m) but very good spa facilities
