Negative experience: As a platinum Bonvoy member I stay in a lot of Marriotts- the Brockworth hotel is one of the worst. 20 minutes to check in, the bar had four people in it all stood around not knowing how to run it- 25 minutes to order a drink no rum and the beer was off (I had to give it back) then they had cocked up on my checkin and I had to pay for my drinks at the reception. The bath would not empty so I reported it as we left the hotel- three hours when we returned it was still full of water and we were told sorry I don’t know why it’s not working. Terrible stay- adding to that I was unable to use one of my 5 room upgrades but when I looked online I was able to book a better room. Dont stay here it’s terrible.

Negative experience: Review mainly of reflections spa - Booked in for a spa weekend directly through the hotel. Had no confirmation of spa package so called to book and was assured we were booked in at 5pm on our day of staying. Then when arrived they had no sign of our booking in the spa for our spa weekend. I was devastated as a lot of effort goes into sorting a weekend away. No offer of anything instead. Ended up sobbing and getting a refund and going home. The spa staff were awful - gas lit us by not listening and saying if we’d booked through spa breaks then it wouldn’t have happened. The only good thing was the lady at hotel reception who quickly sorted the refund so we could leave!

Positive experience: Stayed for 2 nights for a short vacation with family. Rooms are good, well maintained but sound isolation was poor and we could hear everything outside. The beds and pillows were not very comfortable. Pool, sauna, steam room, spa were good. Limited food options on the room service menu. Breakfast also had limited options but they were good enough for us. The downside was that the coffee machine didn’t work properly, they don’t replace the food that runs out including toast. Even serving plates were not available and we had to ask for them couple of times. Staff were helpful but slow. Called the front desk and house keeping few times and got no answer. Had to keep going down to request items like bath robes, dental kits, … etc. Probably won’t be in a rush to go back.

Fantastic experience: The Venue had a great Spa area where you can actually go sit in a hot tub next to the swimming pool next to a sauna it was lovely very chilled very relaxing definitely recommend if you want to get away for a night or two go up there. You will not be disappointed, and the customer service of their is bang on point.

Negative experience: I haven't used the rooms thankfully. But I suggest not using the restaurant or the spa facilities or trying to contact the hotel by email or phone, as it will be an impossible task. The spa's customer service skills are on a par with Donald Trump. The restaurant needs shutting down as the food is inedible, they can't even cook a ready made pizza. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here please avoid. If a member of staff is reading this please give me details of the complaints procedure! It's going to be a long one!

Negative experience: I’m giving this hotel a 1-star review due to a series of disappointing experiences during my stay. When I checked in last Saturday, I was informed that the hotel was hosting a party, the restaurant would be closed, and the bar would likely not serve food between 18:30 and 19:30. Receptionist recommended ordering around 18:00. So I did. However, I was later told that the chef was very busy and that my food wouldn't be ready before 19:45 or 20:00. I agreed to wait and requested a reminder to ensure my order would be completed on time. At 20:00, I called reception to confirm the status of my order, only to be informed that the chef had stopped preparing food for the night. I was told my only option was to order Uber Eats. After waiting for over four hours without a meal, my Uber Eats order finally arrived at 22:00. This lack of communication and mismanagement was extremely frustrating. In addition, the noise from the party was unbearable. Even at 23:30, I could still hear loud music and people shouting in the corridors, which disrupted my ability to sleep. The following day, I requested a late check-out, as this is usually allowed with my Bonvoy status. I was told it could only be extended until 12:00. I adjusted my plans accordingly, but just five minutes before noon, I received a call informing me that a 13:00 check-out was now possible. While I understand late check-out is subject to availability, it would have been considerate to offer this to me earlier, given the inconvenience I faced the night before with both the delayed food and the noise. Overall, the lack of communication, poor management, and failure to address my concerns left me very disappointed with my stay.

Positive experience: Went for a Christmas Dinner Dance. The service was OK. Had various comments from my guests 15 of us ranging from nice to OK and some said their food was luke warm. Mine was nice, for me the Parsnip Soup was tasty and my fish dish was OK as as was the Frangipani Tart. My main gripe and had I not been hosting I would have left. The staff did nothing to stop guests drinking and dancing on the dance floor. A glass was broken and staff were attempting to sweep up the large pieces, leaving fine shards on the floor. I commented to a person who appeared to be in charge regarding the drinking, saying that this is a health and safety issue and he did nothing.

Positive experience: Fish and chips £19.95 !!.I only wish I'd taken a picture of what I received. Fish over cooked and chips under cooked. And waited over an hour for 4 meals to arrive. Only downside to our stay. Won't be dining here again though !!.

Positive experience: Only two power outlets under the TV for the room. No power outlets anywhere near beds/nightstands. If you have CPAP, bring a LONG extension. Laundry service is not convenient. Older property, clean but heavily perfumed.

Fantastic experience: Great size room and bathroom, very clean, random hole in the carpet though ! Reception staff helpful. Breakfast was ok on the Saturday morning, seemed unable to keep up with the fried egg replenishment, Sunday's breakfast was 100% better. Easy to catch the bus for race day, would book again.

Positive experience: The spa treatment- lovely The food- delicious for dinner The drink- I was shocked after having 2 sips of my non alcoholic passion fruit martini that it was £11 and my friend’s double gin and tonic was £12.80- that’s way too much yet by that point I couldn’t ask to swap it, as I’d drunk a bit. The room- fine The service- shocking, really basic things were lacking so definitely more training is needed and I spoke to one of the chefs and he said it’s being worked on. For ex- our waitress took away our starter plates and then 1 min later came back and asked if we’d had our mains…I think a morning briefing before breakfast serving and dinner briefing before dinner would be invaluable.

Positive experience: Everything was great apart from the room servicing which fell below expected standards. On one occasion during the stay, we found our room was entered and serviced in spite of the Do Not Disturb hanging up at the time of leaving the room. When we did actually want the room cleaned, it was not done properly (eg used cup not removed, sheets crinkled, shower bottle not refilled, etc). Relatively minor as this was only a short stay. Location is convenient (if you drive) and car park is good.

Fantastic experience: Stay to visit Highgrove the following day. Good size room, and excellent service from the lady managing the front of house of the restaurant on the Sunday t evening. Negative experience: **Disappointing Stay – Not What I Expected from a Marriott Brand** I recently stayed at Delta Hotels Cheltenham Chase and had a very disappointing experience. I have stayed at various Marriott hotels around the world, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. Firstly, the room configuration was incorrect. I booked two twin beds with rollaway beds but was given one King bed and a rollaway bed, which didn’t suit our needs. On top of that, when I requested an extra duvet, it arrived separately from the cover, and to make things worse, the duvet had visible stains. Housekeeping was also an issue. Even though we left the room at 9am, housekeeping wasn’t done because, according to the staff, they had worked earlier than usual that day. This left us without a cleaned room for the rest of our stay, which was frustrating. Additionally, my requests for basic amenities like a toothbrush and comb were not fulfilled. Despite asking on the first night, I didn’t receive them on the second night, and my follow-up messages were ignored. I had to go to reception by myself to grab the stuff. The breakfast service was another letdown. By 9:15am, they had stopped refilling items, and key options like Danish pastries and pain au chocolat were unavailable, which made the breakfast experience less enjoyable. To top it off, I lost a jacket in the room and went back to the hotel on the night I checked out. The receptionist promised to check with housekeeping the next day, took down my details, and assured me they would contact me. I haven’t heard anything since, which adds to the poor service experience. Overall, my stay was far below the Marriott standards I’ve come to expect, and it has made me reconsider choosing Marriott hotels in the future. I hope the hotel can address these issues for future guests.

Positive experience: Probably a good business/conference motel but not a holiday hotel. Standard coach menu at all Marriot hotels I suspect. E.g Beef stew! Hunt the beef , disappointing. Bedrooms excellent except for drain problem on last day. Sorry.

Positive experience: We stayed here for our holiday to see the Cotswolds. They have a pool and jacuzzi, not so busy which is good as my daughter enjoys swimming. I like the breakfast area looking out to the garden as you see squirrels and bunnies running about. Their breakfast selection is not that great though as compared to other hotels. Which is why we opted out the following day. However to date we still haven't been refunded and that was two weeks ago. The room is ample size as we were just a family of 3. It was not that clean as you can see accumulated dust on the door hinges and the vents at the bottom of the fridge door. As of 17th of Sept. Still no refund for the the breakfast on our 2nd day...it is now the 27th of Sept and we still haven't received our refund. Most hotels would put a hold on the card till you check out. This Marriott outright charged it and ia taking time to refund. NOTgood!

Negative experience: I’m a regular traveler and have stayed in many Marriott hotels around the world including Luxury Collection, St. Regis, Ritz Carlton, etc. I don’t like to complain but I feel that I have to share my experience at this hotel with others. I booked this hotel because they allow dogs. The information on the hotel website is inaccurate and it is £25 per night extra (not £50 per stay as it says on the website). You can have 2 dogs in one room, which is great. But the rest was terrible! The service was shocking! They employ young people without any knowledge or experience and don’t give them a proper training. I’m sure you can imagine what kind of service they provide! I would like especially mention Aimee at reception who was absolutely useless, didn’t pass my request to housekeeping and who thought that it was ok to knock on my door when it was on Do Not Disturb. And she did it to let me know that my dog was barking (surprise surprise, dogs bark!!) which caused my dog to bark even more and it was after 9am anyway! I got a feedback from the general manager eventually and it turns out they only allow well behaved dogs! Do they review the dogs at check in to make sure they behave appropriately or they require the owners to send the reference in advance?!? Obviously not! Another receptionist called Stuart couldn’t figure out how to activate my mobile key for about 3 hours and again didn’t pass my request to housekeeping. Courtney, duty manager, was absolutely awful and rude, absolute disgrace for Marriott. On my last day I tried to call reception multiple times and no one picked up so I requested a late checkout at 3pm via the Marriott Bonvoy app as I usually do. I’m entitled to late checkout at 4pm or later. I got a call to my room at 2pm from this person Courtney I believe saying that I had to leave. I tried to explain that I requested 3pm but they said that they don’t have the access to the app! What kind of Marriott hotel that is?!? Anyway they promised me checkout at 14:30 but after a few minutes they started knocking on my door threatening me and shouting at me to leave the room when I was trying to get all the bags and dogs together to actually leave the room. I asked to speak with general manager, who was “conveniently” unavailable. I had to speak with Marriott Convoy member support instead to let them know that this hotel is not up to Marriott standards and I have never had such a poor customer service from any of the Marriott hotels around the world.

Negative experience: I have been using Marriott hotels all over the world for 40 years, they are my go to brand but this hotel is very poor and should not have the Marriott branding. It is an old hotel in desperate need of some refurbishment. The bedrooms are dull and the restaurant is dark and dismal. The staff seem disinterested and service is slow. Dinner menu had some interesting items on the menu. The breakfast buffet is basic and not up to a Premier Inn standard. Delta is clearly a brand to avoid in future.

Negative experience: I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue i am encountering during our stay at your hotel. We booked two rooms, 38 and 39, and unfortunately, the air conditioning in both rooms was not functioning properly. The TV remote wouldnt work either.Despite our efforts to adjust the settings and ensure it was turned on correctly, the rooms remained uncomfortably warm throughout the night. This situation made it extremely difficult for us to sleep, leading to a very unpleasant experience. We chose your hotel expecting a comfortable stay, but the lack of a functional AC has significantly impacted our satisfaction. After complaining to the reception and asking them to assess the room at 11pm I was told the matter will bd resolved tomorrow. Which doesnt serve the purpose as the room is uncomfortably hot snd also no other room available as its fully booked.. on request we been given 2 small table fans for one room. This is extremely not what I expected of my stay I hope the management reads and contact me as this is badly affecting my health and arranges for refund. I have included the photos of the table fans and the temperature displayed on the LCD display screen. It's 0.22 am now and still warm.

Positive experience: Nice hotel quite modern decor But: bar shut 20 mins before it was stated that it would shut 10:40 instead of 11pm TV in room was not working as I found out at 10:30 pm ,reported to reception but it was time to go to bed so didn't want any hassle signs of damp in room Not up to the usual Marriott standard Shame

Positive experience: Stayed here as part of a coach trip, lovely hotel, beautiful clean room, evening meal was lovely, breakfast was a bit chaotic as there was also 2 other coach parties in as well as ours so it was busy which was to be expected, coffee machines were not working so we didn’t get a hot drink but everything else was great, would definitely stay again

Fantastic experience: Hotel is in Good location, big very clean rooms with plenty of storage space, excellent bathroom & shower . Nice restaurant serving good buffet breakfast but a limited evening dinner menu. Only criticism would be understaffed bar causing slow service. The indoor pool + Jacuzzi + Sauna are a bonus. But overall an excellent hotel.

Negative experience: ASTHMATICS BEWARE ALL BEDDING IS FEATHER FILLED UNLESS REQUESTED Stayed here for a last minute booking as my wife and I were driving from the north east down to Bristol, thought this would be a nice place to rest for the night, the wife nearly ended up in hospital due to all the bedding being feather filled, then the staff proceeded to try and change it whilst we were in the room. Moved to a different room but had to wait for it to be cleaned only to find that no one bothered to check the bathroom and toilet were clean. Had a mediocre breakfast where staff had to shift through various salt shakers in the drawer to find one that had some in. Went for a shower after breakfast only to find the shower door in a damaged state and had been for some time, when the shower was running the door kept hitting me. This was all on top of my wife getting food poisoning from the Burratta cheese dish she ordered from the bar, fizzy and acidic on the inside of the skin. This was refunded however this doesn't compensate for having to cut our trip short due to her vomiting all day Sunday and Monday. I have stayed in various Marriott hotels around the world with work and travel but this is by far the worst.

Negative experience: As a Platinum Elite member of Marriott Bonvoy, I must say this hotel was by far one of my worst experiences ever. I arrived to check-in at 16:00 last Sunday with my partner, only to be told that the rooms were not ready and we should hang around until notified. We ended up checking in at 17:00 instead of the normal 15:00. The so-called "suites" were a complete disappointment. All the furniture, except the bed, reminded me of my military accommodation as a junior soldier in the British Army – basic and cheap. The next morning's breakfast was another nightmare. There were no eggs or other items at the buffet. I had to stand there for several minutes and try to get the staff's attention. After waiting for a good few minutes, they finally started frying some eggs and other missing items. A lady, who introduced herself as an event manager, was in charge instead of a restaurant manager, which clearly indicates how poorly this hotel is managed. To make matters worse, none of the coffee machines were working. Another guest, after a long wait, told me not to bother with the coffee machine as it didn't even produce anything resembling coffee. When I went to grab a glass for some juice, I found a broken glass with dangerous edges among the other glasses. This was absolutely shocking and could have easily cut my finger or someone else's. At that point, I had enough and told my wife we should go back to the room. To add insult to injury, I forgot my Apple MacBook Pro charger at the hotel. It's been two full days with over 20 calls to the reception, and no one bothers to pick up. I have had far better experiences at 2 and 3-star hotels. Trust me, you'll thank me later if you choose another hotel instead of enduring this nightmare.

Negative experience: Room was nice but bar staff didn’t know what they were doing waited an hour for food and then another 30 mins for ice cream dessert had to ask both times where the food was which was then immediately brought to me with an apology. Wasted all my evening waiting for food!

Fantastic experience: Great location for our trip north to break up a journey. The rooms are very large, very clean, and staff throughout were fantastic. Food in the restaurant was very good, hot and plentiful. The only downside was the noise around the rooms, especially the corridors where teenagers were allowed to roam freely and really didn't care for anyone elses comforts at all. Slamming doors and clearing rooms from 6.30 am really weren't part of the plan for another long day's drive. I would go and stay again, but I would want a quiet end to the hotel or would upgrade to a suite.

Positive experience: We came in on an Explore rate and left our luggage as a room was not ready, which was fine. The room location was 2 rooms down from a conference going on and we had to walk through the conference parties, multiple times which was very awkward and unprofessional of them. For them and for us. As a Marriott professional, I was surprised they didn’t offer a friendlier welcome and a better room as I will not be recommending this hotel to colleagues using the Marriott stay. They could learn from the Moxy who went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. The bedroom was tired and the bed sank down uncomfortably each side like it had been used for 20 years. We both had a very uncomfortable night sleep. The breakfast was good and the dinners were charming at the lovely location of their restaurant. And we had a lovely waitress called Annabelle. Who I left a tip for at front desk which I hope she received. I think the comfort of the bed and the sad location of the room turned this experience into a hard to recommend hotel.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with this hotel. Was looking forward to using the pool and spa facilities when we go back to the hotel after a 5 hour hike. After being told the pool closed at 7pm we arrived at 6:30pm for a quick 10 minute cool down swim only to be told the spa actually closes at 6:15pm for the cleaners to come in. We thought closing at 7pm was too early but 6:15pm is an absolute joke. Why state 7pm if everyone has to be out of the pool long before then? I was also told by another guest that the steam room and jacuzzi are both out of order and have been for a few days now. Went back to my room to take a bath instead only to find that, despite having a bathtub, there was no tap so I could only take a shower. Rooms are reasonably sized but considering the main draw of the hotel is the pool and spa facilities I definitely would not return.

Positive experience: We stayed here for a weekend getaway as a family. Managed to get rooms close enough together. The pool was fairly quiet in the daytime and busier in the evening. The pool was roped to separate an area for 16 years and over to swim in peace. We had food and drinks from the bar, the food was good and the service from bartenders was even better. We would definitely stay here again.

Positive experience: Visited as part of a coach party. Evening meal was disorganised, and main course food was only just edible. Starters and Desserts were lovely. Breakfast was OK, but had to queue every morning for plates, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausages as no-one ever seemed to check what was needed on the hot plate. Would not recommend this hotel.

Negative experience: We stayed in this place for 5 days. The first night we decided to eat at the hotel which was a big mistake. We ordered soup and a meal, the soup came out pretty fast and then we waited for over an hour for the main course!! I hadtomato mozzarella pasta, which looked as if they heated up some tomato passata and dumped it over some penne, there was hardly any mozzarella on it. It tasted awful. My husband had risotto with chicken filet, the risotto was superdry and the chicken as well. In the morning, when we came down for breakfast at 8:30am there was no more bread! For a Marriot hotel it was pretty bad and we will never stay there again.

Negative experience: If you are looking for a gym to join, I am going to save you wasting your money. Avoid this place at all costs! It’s been going downhill for 3 years, and I am very glad my membership ends this month. Dirty, showers not working, cracked tiles in the floor. Oh and it’s basically a public swimming pool, with loads of kids classes and adults sat around looking at their phones while their kids play up (or ‘learn’ to swim allegedly). They have even taken all these ‘classes’ off their website, so no one can see when they are. For your convenience they even close at 6.15 on a weekend, so the hours that you can use to relax are restricted. Don’t bother, just go somewhere else.

Negative experience: Very Disappointing Experience at Delta Hotel I had a deeply unsatisfactory stay at the Delta Hotel and believe it's important to share my experience to help others make an informed decision. Check-In Issues: We arrived at 7 pm, but due to technical issues with the hotel's I.T. systems, we were unable to check in until 11 pm. This delay was incredibly inconvenient and set a negative tone for our stay. Unresponsive Staff: Despite asking multiple times if we could get somewhere to rest, the staff repeatedly told us to wait, citing the I.T. system problems as the cause. We were told "10 minutes" several times, but ultimately waited for hours without resolution. Unfulfilled Promises: The staff initially assured us that compensation for the inconvenience would be discussed in a management meeting. However, when we checked out the next day, we were informed that no compensation would be provided. Customer Service Issues: A staff member named Callum accused us of creating a scene to obtain compensation. There was a mix-up with our booking due to a name confusion, which was attributed to us rather than acknowledged as a system error. Overall Experience: We spent four hours in the lobby and had to purchase expensive drinks at the bar, ultimately staying in our room for less than 12 hours. The entire experience was exhausting and frustrating, and we felt disrespected as customers. ***Update: General Manager Daniel emailed me, requesting that I take down this review. He claimed that the staff provided assistance that we did not receive, such as offering free drinks and checking our booking with my full name. These actions were not taken during our stay, and the issue was unfairly blamed on us. I am sharing this honest review to inform potential guests of our experience. I hope this feedback helps the hotel address these issues and improve their customer service. To the Delta Hotel staff: please review the CCTV footage to understand the situation from our perspective. I believe acknowledging and addressing these concerns can lead to better service for all guests. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision. Our experience was unfortunate, and I hope no other guests have to face similar issues.

Fantastic experience: **Rating:** - Rooms: 5 stars - Service: 4 stars - Location: 5 stars **Review:** We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Delta Hotels by Marriott Cheltenham. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming to our pets. The swimming pool and jacuzzi/steam room were warm and pleasant. However, the jacuzzi had an issue where it wouldn't come on frequently, requiring at least a 15-minute wait for it to work again. The shower room was clean and equipped with lockers. The breakfast selection was good, though the service was a bit slow. The location was excellent with ample parking for guests. We would love to visit again and extend our gratitude to the staff for their care and attention to our two lovely cats.

Positive experience: Nice hotel relatively close to Gloucester with access to gym and spa. Rooms are spacious and clean. Unfortunately our breakfast and dinners have been a bit of a mixed experience as staff have been struggling to clean tables after people left so others could enjoy breakfast, similarly with food or platters that were in shortage. During dinner it took them 15 min to realise they were out of stakes. Nevertheless staff was very friendly.

Negative experience: The check in experience was just pathetic. Check in is at 3pm. We arrived at around 145pm. Was told rooms are not ready and checkin is at 3pm. We Hung around in the bar, had lunch and drinks. At 240pm I went o check on the room status and was told / reminded again that the check in is at 3pm. At 3pm we approached the front desk for check in. We were told to wait for 30 mins. I told the lady that the check in time is 3pm and so I am here now. She told me the house keeping staff is checking one final time if all the rooms are in order. She did go somewhere to check and was back saying rooms are not ready. We went for a short walk a bit irritated at the lack of service esp if one is a loyal Marriott member. I come back in 15 mins and there is a long queue at the front desk for checking in. I ask the lady if my room is ready, she said yes but I have to join the queue. I asked her if she can just check me in since I’ve been here first and have been waiting patiently and it was she who said I need to wait for 30 mins after 3pm. She seemed unsure what to do and just kept saying “I understand” but clearly she didn’t. I don’t see any reason why she couldn’t have made a decision in favour of a loyal Marriott guest who has been made to wait beyond the check in times and then was told to wait in the back of a long queue when the room was ready. I give the benefit of doubt to the front desk lady this time - I think she was a bit flustered at the number of people queued up and asked to wait due to the rooms not being ready. However this reflects badly on the Marriott brand.

Positive experience: Disappointedly allocated the incorrect room due I assume to a large party of people celebrating a 60 b’day party. Although the average age was 70+. The restaurant was at capacity so we were shunted to the side. Food was not up to our expectation. Challenged reception about the incorrect room, told the manager was unavailable. I can understand hotels have a challenge filling occupancy at weekends, but there is a penalty when quality is diminished. Still waiting for a refund for the difference in price concerning the room, but won’t hold my breath. Just to clarify the side area was not in the open plan conservatory with a clear view of the hillside. It was very much a 2nd class seating area.

Positive experience: Excellent location for the Cotswolds and the rooms are away from the busy road. Rooms are little carpets are old style in their design but every where is clean. The spa pool area is good to relax especially the hot tub. Plenty of free car parking and easy access to reception. Nice bar and food area. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Easy driving distance to local town and surrounding natural areas of beauty not found any where else in the country. Worth a stay if in the area.

Positive experience: My wife and I spent a weekend here recently and, overall, our stay was OK. The staff are excellent and very friendly and the family room to which we were upgraded was very well presented. We were disappointed that on the middle day of our stay the room was not serviced and we had to go and ask for a re-stock of toilet rolls. There was no suggestion that the rooms not being serviced was a normal procedure. We were also surprised to find that the hotel is dog-friendly and I would guess that a family room would be optimal for this. It would explain my wife’s streaming eyes and my own eczema flare-up during the visit - much as we are fans of our four-legged friends, sadly we’re both allergic. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent, although a few bad experiences at Delta hotels recently led us to choose to avoid the restaurant for dinner. The burger I watched go past to another diner suggested that this was a good idea, as it had the appearance of a tiny, blackened hockey puck nestling dismally within the bun! We did stop in the bar for a drink, however, and my wife chose a strawberry and basil mojito, which conjured up the image of a long, cool drink bursting with strawberries and fresh basil leaves, and evoking the Mediterranean! Sadly, what she was served was a couple of shots of a pre-prepared cocktail syrup with the merest suggestion of alcohol, topped up with soda water and couple of ice cubes. No fruit or herbs were troubled in the making of this drink! It was unbearably sweet and basically undrinkable, but the bar staff were happy to swap it for Prosecco without issue. If you’re not prepared to put any effort into making a cocktail even half properly then take them off the menu - no one will be any the wiser. Ultimately, however, the biggest issue I have with the Delta Hotels by Marriott Cheltenham Chase is exactly the same as the other Delta Hotels I have stayed in during the last year. It just feels like Marriott wants to take some of its better hotels, cut their budgets right down and under-utilise the abilities of the wonderful staff they employ. The result is an experience that is basically ‘OK’ but well short of the high Marriott standards we have come to expect. It seems like they think that by re-branding them as Deltas, no one will notice. Sorry, Marriott, but we do notice and they are doing your brand no favours at all in the UK, in my view.

Negative experience: Stayed there for 3 nights last month. Car door got dented in the carpark. Waited at the reception for 20 minutes to speak to someone but no one was there to attend. Another staff saw me there standing for a while and kindly offered to find the receptionist. Spoke to receptionist and was told to email the manager to get a response. Emailed 3 times but didn't get any replies. I understand it's not the hotel's responsibility for the dent but it would be nice to get a reply. Irresponsible customer service. Had drinks at the bar in the hotel in one of the nights. Worse cocktail I've ever had. No effort was put to mix the ingredients well. Unreasonable price for a poor quality cocktail. Empty bottles and glasses all over the bar on tables and at the bar. Clear sign of understaff.

Negative experience: Myself and partner visited the hotel for a spa day recently, purchased last October as a present for our anniversary. As we had been there a couple of years earlier for my birthday, had a lovely experience even though the jacuzzi was playing up, we were looking forward to it. The staff are always friendly so no complaints there. However , before our spa treatments, we decided to take advantage of the pool, /jacuzzi. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi was once again out of action as it was just refilling with dirty water so could not be used at all. We had to wait 45 minutes for the aquarobics to finish , not only that, the poolside shower was out of use and also the sauna. As i had been contacted over the weekend by the hotel to check we were still arriving on the Monday, nothing was mentioned about any of the faults. I found out from a member of leisure centre the jacuzzi had not been working for a few days at least. If I was aware , i may have rescheduled. Although I had paid slightly less through wowcher, it was still an overly expensive day, especially when we decided to have a sandwich and 2 coffees lster at the bar....very overpriced for what we had. Not only that, there were also alot of other miffed day spa guests who were NOT happy. I'd like to say we would return but it won't be any time soon which is a shame as it is a lovely hotel.

Negative experience: I had booked a spa day for a big birthday for my sister and Mum, we had our treatments but no use of the spa as sauna and jacuzzi broken. We were in the pool for all of 3 minutes until we had to vacate due to an aqua fit class. I have emailed 3 times and called but keep getting told I have to email. The showers were freezing and the toilets were dirty in the spa changing rooms. I have had no reply from anyone at all. When I was there I was told I had to complain in writing. I do not like leaving negative reviews but it’s the only way I think I will be listened to maybe?! Really disappointed as our day was cut short and we booked days off work for this.

Negative experience: We went to this hotel and were looking forward to a Spa Treatment Day which was a Xmas Gift and had travelled quite a way. We were disappointed to find that people were warning us that the pool and jacuzzi were cold due to long ongoing boiler problems ? We consequently didn't use the pool and it was too cold to use the jacuzzi properly. One of us went in the steam room and afterwards wanted a shower nearby which wasn't working at all. There were 2 toilets in the ladies changing room and only one had a light working. Really Disappointed with our day to be honest although the treatments were good.

Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK...I Have been before and will not go again. Found very expensive, on checking the bill, it came to more than we were told, and we had no treatments in the spar, so there must have been a considerable rise in prices. I did not make a fuss as it was my 50th, but on speaking to my wife she was upset that an extra £60 had charged on top for a meal we had, which had already cost £128 and was not of a quality to demand £128 or £188, 2 people 1 drink each. They agreed to repay £60, but this did not happen. The General Manager stated 'the restaurant pricing is unfortunately down to the increased costs being set by suppliers '. You cannot raise prices above what is indicated, this is not acceptable. I have now stopped all employees using this hotel and cannot understand Marriott allowing this and will take our business elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Positive experience: Stayed New Years Eve, just as a getaway with the dog. Friendly staff, clean room etc. Had to take all our own stuff for the dog, as although they allow dogs, they don't have dog bowls, or anything else for them. We took the dogs blanket to cover and protect the bed, and she made herself at home within minutes.

Negative experience: Sorry to say but was extremely disappointed with the Christmas evening we had a the Chase. It was £42 each and for that money we got: No cider on tap. Only one cider bottle on offer and that was Strawberry. A stroppy barmaid who argued with my guest. The soup was so watered down, it was actually like drinking water. Our table of only 6, all had their food brought out at different times. All the table crackers had the same joke inside. The main course wasn't served until 9pm and the 'Turkey' was all stuffing. The disco asked for song request but didn't play any, the roulette lady said it was the same playlist he had played the other nights. For the money you'd think they could afford ink for the printer for your place cards too. It was definitely not worth £42 each, especially as a round of drinks for 6 including 2 soft drinks was £42 as well. We won't be going there again and we won't be recommending it.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed our stay at the Delta Hotel in Cheltenham, our suite was beautiful and we had plenty of space for my wife, two boys and myself. Minibar was included which was a lovely gesture and the breakfast was enjoyable. If you don’t want to eat in the restaurant there are a few places close by including brewers fayre, subway and a one stop shop selling sandwiches. Car parking was plentiful but no working ev chargers yet.

Positive experience: The room was tidy, but no room service menu and heater was not working. Room was almost Arctic on arrival and it was cold/wet weather. Spa is just a tiny jacuzzi, steam room, sauna room and small swimming poo which you can do some amall lengths in l. The event staff had no idea who had ordered what, left us waiting several times. 1 card reader per bar and servers were very slow and inexperienced. 3 times got given the wrong vodka asked for. Wanted Smirnoff, not K. Was also told someone would contact me, been over a week now, and nothing has been heard.

Negative experience: What a huge disappointment. From the offset there were not enough staff, and those who were there appeared cool and not particularly bothered to offer any customer service. Dinner was a shambles where we waited 5min to be seated and were then served a raw main course. 35min later a replacement meal was bought to us which was too burnt to eat. After assurances and promises this would be refunded to us, upon check-out the next day, no such note had been left. We were told the manager would call us, but we have heard nothing. I would not recommend staying here.

Positive experience: This is a nice hotel. It's secluded, but in a convenient place to see many historic locations. The staff is great. They go out of their way to make sure you are well cared for. The rooms are good. They are well maintained and fairly big. The downside is several items... The rooms are too dark even with all the lights on. There are no outlets near the bed for charging devices. The phone in the room was broken. There needs to be a microwave in the room. The elevators are too small for two people and our luggage. Lastly, some of the rooms aren't numbered in order. Room 214 is quite a ways down the hall - and down some stairs - from room 215. This was frustrating upon arrival, when I was tired and just wanted to get to my room to rest. Overall, I might stay here when I visit the area again, but I may also look at the other options in the area also.

Positive experience: A slightly mixed review, we visited for a spa experience for my wife's birthday. In celebratory mood we arrived, looking forward to a pampered experience. Big chain hotels are like big chain restaurants, you know what you are getting. The beds are good, the rooms are nice, they keep the standard of cleaning high, so that is all good. But they lack the personal touch, that make a visit memorable. The grounds and position of the place, about 5 miles out of town gave a quiet and rural feel, which we liked. The place was busy with major companies having meetings and conferences, but our room at the end of the long halls with millions of doors were quiet and mostly earily empty. We are both vegetarians, and the restaurant didn't have a great selection, a veggie burger and a beetroot wellington, were the two main options, but as us veggies only comprise 14% of the population, I suppose we got about 14% of the menu. Breakfast was better, fresh fruit, toast, juice and cereals, it's hard to ruin breakfast, we felt well catered for. All in all a solid 7 out of 10. My issue is, I don't know how they could make it much better. I am sure you will get the same standard in Cheltenham as you would in any Marriott in the world, and that is not a bad thing. Like any big chain, not outstanding, but reliable, and that counts.

Fantastic experience: Nice hotel, large bar restaurant area. Good food and varied menu. Only criticisms, which should result in a loss of half a star, was the poor coffee after dinner. Definitely need more coffee machines. The room was nice and spacious but rather dark. Clean and tidy. Would recommend white walls and interior furnishings. Friendly helpful staff. Positive experience: Lovely location and nice big rooms. A little shabby in places where the rain had got in and lifted the wallpaper and some snagging in the bathroom wouldn't come amiss, but they didn't affect our stay. The room was big, storage was plentiful, and parking spaces were ample. It was clean and very well presented. I have one minor gripe and it may be something out of the hotels hands, but a path and lighting for pedestrians coming and going from the entrance to the hotel frontage would be a safety benefit for patrons. There were a few amenities that we did not make use of like the swimming pool and if the price is right I'd like to come again and make use of them, they looked well presented.

Positive experience: Lovely hotel, large, clean and comfortable rooms with tea / coffee and a fridge. Toiletries were great! Plenty of free parking. Excellent breakfast and food in the restaurant was good. Not too impressed with the bar; service was poor, prices steep and choice limited. Pool facilities look nice, but unfortunately close early so had no chance to actually sample.

Negative experience: Went to spa last Sunday lady behind the counter at the spa was woeful extremely rude and arrogant not helpful at all, unfortunately never knew her name so I could direct this message at her. The facilities were disgracefully bad 2 deck chairs available swimming pool with kids having access too and a horrific smelling swimming pool we paid 200£ for a spa get away that lasted no more than 2 hours will Not be returning I personally wrote a more in depth review to the company, but wrote this so the public can was for themself’s before they consider wasting they’re money here Avoid at all cost

Positive experience: If you don't want to waste money, please read. All in all... not the best. The restaurant is extortionate, I wouldn't mind if the food was amazing but it was nothing special at all. Breakfast was alright but I had the same experience at a Travelodge for half the money. I didn't try the spa as I saw that the spa guests have to share the swimming pool/jacuzzi with all the other guests, I would not feel relaxed and pampered while there were kids shouting and playing in the pool at the same time, which is fair enough they should enjoy themselves but just not at the same time as the spa guests, both pool and Jacuzzi are too small for the best of both worlds. Steam room out of order. See photos, view from outside my room, an empty wine bottle that was there for two days and still there when we checked out. I'm a blue badge holder and the hedge was not cut back in the blue badge space we used and had litter there for the three days we used it (despite being woken up by a gardener at 8 in the morning, don't know what he actually did, see the weeds as well). Tv didn't work and they couldn't get anyone to fix it on the first day we were there. Our room keys were deactivated a few times and we had to go to the front desk to get them reactivated. The only plus points are that the rooms are nice and clean and the beds are comfortable. Which again, I have gotten at a Travelodge for half the price. Also, because we were in an accessible room, there was a deafgard, which again is great but there wasn't a way to turn it off and it blinks a bright green light all night long.
