Positive experience: Modern with an ok fun pool and a good amount of parking, although at peak times it gets busy

Negative experience: I took my parents and my 1year old daughter to Rotherham leisure centre yesterday for the 12.30pm family swim and I'm not usually one for complaining but I feel that this needs to be addressed by someone more senior although judging by the pervious reviews nothing has changed, to start with the changing rooms still have feces on the the ceiling in the family changing facilities as I read in a review from 2 months ago! And that's when you can get in a family cubical because they only have 3. The reception check in process is very slow you need to go at least 15 minutes before the session starts because they only have 1 person on reception and you end up missing the first 10 minutes of the 1hr session (although they have a touch check In screen but only for use if you are attending Auqua fit why they don't open that for faster checking if you've booked online I don't know) so once we eventually get into the family pool they close half of it off for swimming lessons which is absolutely fine the other half is plenty big enough for younger kids but then comes in roughly 15 kids around 10 to 12 year old from a summer school that filled the other half of the pool meaning all the younger babies and children were shoved into a small corner of the pool unable to enjoy the session because the older kids were splashing them and also made my daughter very upset and when speaking to other parents they felt the same. The staff on shift at this session didn't even bother to say anything. This is no fault of the older kids but they were too big to be in the smaller kids pool and something that should have been thought about prior to opening the pool to the public this was supposed to be a "family session" but unfortunately we were unable to enjoy it and was a total waste of money.

Positive experience: We had good customer care from staff but Emily was a star, she was so helpful. We enjoyed our swim, the place was smart and we had fun.

Fantastic experience: Am doing aqua fit here to help loose weight, bit heavy going at times, but you can stop n rest when needed, I'm 28 stone and it's 1 of best exercise classes I've done, I've booked several more classes. Would recommend

The only thing that can be improved is you need to take care of the floor in the changing room more often . so that my opinion is on 5 gives you my confidence ..

Negative experience: It took literally 15 minutes just to get inside with one person infront of us doing a sign-up contact first with 2 staff members on the desk. It could be lovely but it seems understaffed, dirty and unloved. I only came to the sauna and steam room while passing for work and the glass doors looked like the hadn't been cleaned for years, the floor was very slippy and dangerous. needs a handyman asap.

Negative experience: Far too busy now not like it used to be, too many swimming lessons going on taking up 3/4 of pools so you get cramped in the corner and cant really swim.

Negative experience: The gym facilities are small but clean and sufficient. The pool can become very cramped due to only a small amount of time being open to the public. The steam room and sauna is great. The reason for the low score is how hard it is to cancell membership. I spent around 1 month trying to call to cancel my membership over the phone as I was unable to come into the Gym for personal reasons. I called in excess of 20 times, but nobody ever answered. I also left a number voicemails with my contact details, but never received a call back. Still to this day I have not had any contact with the Gym. With help from a friend, I managed to apply to cancel my gym membership online, only to be told that I have to pay another month. I have not set foot in the gym for over 9 months. I realize that is my fault and I do no begrudge paying my fees for that period. But now to take another month from me after ignoring me for a month seems tight.

Negative experience: Very unclean, a strong smell of urine in the family changing areas, I really enjoy a sauna or steam room after gym, which I explained whilst signing up , however it seems whenever I go, I get told the sauna steam room is closed, every other gym I have been a member of has kept the steam room /sauna open whilst classes are on so it seems pathetic to me to close them whilst there is a class on and feels like a waste of a journey. I’d say the only positive is the gym doesn’t seem too busy.

Negative experience: Arrived but only shallow end open which happens but tickets could have been knocked down a little but hey ho not that deep the part that gives this place 1 star is that it is disgustingly unhygienic and dirty there was hair all over left over underwear socks and even razors this place stunk too had high hopes but was let down massively

Positive experience: Excellent aqua session absolutely rubbish class booking service (who wants to put their alarm on for midnight to book an exercise class!!!! As I was told) will be looking elsewhere

Negative experience: Been swimming today First off all the sauna has mold in it tiles are all Rusty the wood in sauna is greasy showers dont work all they know is mopp floor with dirty mopps this sauna and all realy needs something new modern as its to old now we pay nearly £30 monthly but no standards at all water is cold for kids shower waters are cold. Place is just unders normal standards.

Negative experience: Where do I start with this place. Haven't used this centre for long, but already cancelling my membership. Here is a list of issues I've noticed. - unwelcoming staff, it would be nice for staff in reception to atleast have a decent approach, they are very rude, never smile and always rude when you have a query. Not willing to deal with any concerns, rather come up with excuses. - unhygienic facilities, I've used different leisure centres over the years, but I've never seen anything as bad, all I'm going to say the changing room, shower area stinks of the sewers and unclean. Dirty floors all round including in steamroom and sauna. - They have sessions for lane swim then expect you to swim in a lane suitable for one person and expect people to be able to share this lane, it feel like being caged like animals as a result you get kicked by others as the space it so small. - For the amount you pay in membership, the facilities and staff could be better. Some services not available at stated times and then expect the customer to understand and accept this

Negative experience: If your looking to waste your membership, which isn't cheap, then carry on. Always have inadequate services, nothing running on time and racist staff. When concerns are passed on to the young manager in the centre. He seem to take these with a pinch of salt and make it out as if it's the customers fault, also comes out with the most ridiculous excuses. All round rude staff and expect people to bend over for them.

Negative experience: Cancelled membership direct debit due to poor standards of hygiene and cleanliness, mould is growing all over the tiles, bathrooms and locker rooms aren't cleaned for weeks/months at a time, I ended up catching athletes foot. Some lockers don't work, and the changing room smells of pure urine. Pool is very busy and when fully booked they still allow more users to come in which makes it dangerous for swimmers. Tissues and sanitary pads are left on the floor. People walking round pool side wearing muddy shoes and leaving mud all around the edges. I wouldn't go back if I had a free membership, truly awful place

Negative experience: Part of an email of complaint sent to the complex because as you can see from images attached , hygiene levels like this with literal faeces on walls and ceiling is unacceptable. It's disheartening to report that there has been a noticeable lack of hygiene, evidenced by unsanitary conditions on the ceiling that have persisted over my visits. Ensuring a clean and hygienic environment is crucial for customer satisfaction and health standards. 3. **Swimming Pool Temperature Fluctuations**: While I can personally tolerate variations in the pool temperature, I am concerned about its suitability for children, including my 2-year-old daughter who finds the water uncomfortably cold. Maintaining a consistent and appropriate temperature is essential for a pleasant and safe swimming experience, especially for young swimmers. I cherish the moments spent at your facility for leisure and bonding with my daughter. It's a highlight of our week, underscoring the importance of a positive, clean, and welcoming environment. I believe addressing these areas could significantly enhance the experience for all patrons, reinforcing the value and enjoyment of your services. Could you please share your plans or initiatives to address these concerns? Appalled by the fact issue was never rectified despite getting a response to say issues were forwarded on. Clearly don’t care. Don’t bother going despite price. You get what you pay for I guess.

Negative experience: Took my 2 year old Grandson swimming here last week. Absolutely disgusting. Changing rooms filthy and smell of urine and have not cleaned for a long time. Was not told there was swimming lessons until we got into the pool area so was unable to use toddler pool. Had to use the other smaller pool with the jacuzzi. Again it was filthy with dirt inside the actual pool around the edges. I also found the staff to be miserable and unhelpful when I needed assistance. Rotherham Council should be ashamed of these disgraceful standards. I will not use this pool again !!!

Negative experience: Very much shocking... I made platinum membership contract which includes swimming. First time I booked for swimming and unfortunately I couldn't trun up because of my personal problems. Afterwards I have seen they give £2.50 penalty not to join swimming. I was so surprised to see that because I already paid for that but what's for this penalty? When I asked to reception and they answered me it was includes trams and conditions? Seriously when I made contract with reception desk, nobody told me or showed me this conditions? Only took £53 pounds for one months and gave me keys that's it.. I think this is not right and frustrating.

Negative experience: DISGRACEFUL swimming area and changing rooms...the floor around the big pool is black and green (needs a very good scrubbing) only 3 showers work around the pool and very strong smell of urine. Changing rooms have spit on the floors . It's been dirty for a long time become incredibly worse! wasn't pleasurable on Monday

Fantastic experience: It's okay for under 10 year olds, no slides or fancy stuff

Positive experience: Plenty of facilities on offer and classes for those that fancy a spot of socialising. Steam room and sauna are nice, however when it's ladies' only or swimming lessons for children, they kick you out, which when you're paying full whack a month doesn't leave you very happy. May I suggest leaving those facilities open by having screens placed from the changing room to the saunas, thereby leaving the pool in privacy and keeping us patrons happy?

Positive experience: Small mosaic tiles missing on bottom on leisure pool in "rapids" area, definitely a risk of child getting a cut foot. Nowhere near enough showers in pool changing rooms, especially at change over of sessions/swims. Poolside toilets dirty and smell of urine. Pool changing rooms dirty and tired, no deep or high level cleaning has been undertaken for a while. Visited on 29.08.23

Positive experience: Decent size swimming pool. The big pool is around 1.2m in depth. The length of the pool is average around 25m and the lane markings are very clear. Staff at reception are very nice and the price is very good for the time you get.

Positive experience: the session was full, lots of youths in the leisure part. the changing areas smelt of urine when we came out off baths

Positive experience: It's not bad, but could be better. The staff miserable, the changing room is dirty and always smells of urine. I don't think that slide has ever worked in the pool, they may as well remove it.

Positive experience: Went swimming here a few weeks ago. Reasonably priced, but limited to only one side of the pool and also asked to leave 5 minutes before our session was over, which was frustrating given that it was an hour session. The pool itself was clean though and a good depth for swimming and doing lengths, and not overcrowded. The changing rooms were also relatively clean and accessible.

Negative experience: I’ve been coming to the gym nearly a year and gyms fine staff are great except for one she is a middle aged lady and her attitude is absolutely disgusting to day I tried to scan in and the machines wouldn’t let me finally got me logged in then she was funny about my children coming in with me complete attitude problem I am seriously thinking about leaving the gym . Also one of my children as autism we joined at wath leisure club but go to Rotherham as it’s easier to get and previously she said why do you come here when wath is closer to you honestly I am so angry with her. She is supposed to be a manager but if this was my company I would be showing her the door.

Positive experience: Son has swimming lessons here, teachers are great, lots of life guards, large changing room which are cleaned all the time so no standing on anything wet and nasty!

Fantastic experience: Its a place we enjoy going to, especially for family swimming fun, there are lot of other healthy activities you can do there too

Fantastic experience: Retired or unemployed ?, why not try walking football, played Monday morning 11.00 till 12.00 in ten minute intervals, then a 2 minute break. £3 a week and for the first two matches it's FREE so no cost if you wish to give it a try. It's an informal kick about generally 4,5 or 6 a side dependent upon numbers that turn up, you play at your own pace and as long as you can kick a ball you'll be fine and a great way for a bit of exercise. Interested, then call down and have a look. IMPORTANT UPDATE, , we are now playing at the Rotherham football centre (RFC) on Astro turf in the old Asda opposite Backer Electric on the Eastwood trading estate just off Fitzwilliam road permanently, same playing times.

Positive experience: You'd think a council run facility would want to protect public health by keeping changing rooms clean. Apparently not. Fine otherwise.

Fantastic experience: Recently became a member. Staff are polite, it's always clean. Just make sure you book for a place before turning up for a swim, as it's normally fully booked if you just turn up.

Fantastic experience: Great reception staff, very helpful and patient. Clean pool, not as deep as many, fairly warm. Unisex shower area and lockable private showers useful for families. Good sauna and steam rooms to relax in after exercise. Need to collect car park free ticket on check in at Reception so allow extra time. Booking on line straight forward.

Fantastic experience: The fun pool is suitable for all the family, not too deep. There is a small "lazy river" and a bubbly seating area. The slide is quite fast but fun.

Positive experience: I enjoy going there mainly for the classes and Swimming but the issue with cleanliness within the pool area is appalling. Another thing either the steam room or sauna isn't working and I feel it is very unfair that I'm paying for a service but it is not being provided and any time you try to speak to the manager called Jamie he is extremely rude. So complaints don't really get dealt with but brushed under the carpet. Very poor Sevice. that

Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend if you want if you want interaction with the staff they stay grouped together don't think I've had one member of staff talk to me since I joined and were there everyday not even a hello or bye . The equipment is good though just ashame about the staff

Positive experience: Nice gym, very cool and a great atmosphere to work out in. The only issue i have is the cleanliness of the changing rooms (both for the gym and the downstairs swimming pools). Alot of dirt and no real care in how they are presented. I'm not sure if this is fixed now, but when i went there were no membership cards available, meaning all doors were unlocked and anyone could walk in to a premium, members only area!

Negative experience: Booked a squash court online, playing Sunday but on our arrival the Car park was full due to a Dancing competition. It would of been good customer service if this information was cascaded on the website advising that parking could be limited as it gives the option to go somewhere else when the complex cannot cater for some booked time slot activities due to the parking situation.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, good gym facilities all up to date highly recommend the junior Gym and Big sister classes if you have children between 11 and 14

Negative experience: This is a real difficult one. The building is tired We attend swimming It's absolutely filthy and has been for sometime in the changing area. And ar poolside (spectator bit) The staff aren't proactive in communication about new stuff or changed except 1 lovely girl on reception with black hair. The instructors and lessons aren't consistent 3 of my daughters lessons were spent with the instructor talking to parents or other staff and the kids swam for 10 mins. The changing rooms often smell sadly too. The negatives out the way The staff are generally all friendly They have good parking You can sit and watch your kid swim They have a wide range of facilities I've only starred it down on cleanliness and inconsistencies in teaching

Positive experience: My daughter and I booked a lunchtime lane swim that was great. Easy to book, no queues, well laid out, clean changing rooms and nice staff and customers. All together a lovely experience

Negative experience: Asked what time to be there for and they said 3 and when we got there they said not adults not til 5 so we came back and 5 and they said no adults not til 7 it’s ridiculous, came with partners grandad and there not that young to be travelling everywhere all the time talking mess it is

Positive experience: Great place for swimming with the family.Receptionists need to smile though and look like they're enjoying their jobs!!

Negative experience: Poor customer service, they never answer the phones. Also they never get back to you even if you leave a voicemail. After trying for hours on phone I drove down saw three members of staff sat there doing nothing . When I questioned why is no one answering phones, the excuse was we are very busy but they was sat doing nothing chatting away with other members of staff.

Fantastic experience: My kids have their swim lessons here, great instructors, shout out to Sam a brilliant teacher! Also, free period products for girls in toilets, never seen this anywhere else, such a great idea

Positive experience: Its a good place to go and swimming instructors are really great. The inside changing area needs a thorough clean some days it smells very bad and people are leaving rubbish and dirty nappies in the changing rooms. Also needs a better system when entering and exiting the pool too overcrowded

Negative experience: Changing rooms had blood smears and plasters stuck on cubicles, plasters on the poolside, not especially busy for local swimming but was packed with lessons which looked great but timings meant everyone is "fighting" for the facilities at the same time as sessions aren't staggered to help reduce this, doesn't help with large numbers of spectators for the lessons adding to the capacity really Leisure pool is nice but bland, not much for little ones to do but the depth was great for them to practice in, mini jet currents were nice

Negative experience: We know we that the leisure pool was only available along with the flume , arrived and the flume was closed . Both children were disappointed as they I ly wanted to go for the flume as the pool is tiny .

Positive experience: I like the swimming. 1st time was not great as the changing room floor was covered in pee and my coat got covered D: but gave it a second try and has been cleaner since. The pool area is tiny most of the time since the cut it off for lessons. It's annoying as it's too small. I'm heavy pregnant trying to take my 2year old but it's been a gamble everything if it was worth going as if too busy and the pool is cut off then we don't get alot of room. However, when not cut off its a great swimming pool and my husband liked the sauna when he came with us once. Just wish the pool could be left bigger when they know its busy instead of cutting it for 2 people in a lesson.

Fantastic experience: Very localised ,friendly staff, very clean I go as often as possible I use the gym and lane swim on alternate days ,then play swim on Sundays with the grandkids worth every penny.

Negative experience: Today decided to stop using this one and start using the one in Aston as absolutely can’t stand the old women on reception, so rude and un helpful it’s unreal, always bad attitude, shame too as I’ve come here for a while and do really like it there but the other is only a couple mins further away and don’t see point of having to come across her and be talked down too iff any complications booking or other issues ariseif I don’t have too, Also never answer the phone which ended up costing me over 100 as I was away an needed to move a payment onto another card but couldn’t get intouch and the charge kept doubling, Which in turn they said they could do nothing about.

Positive experience: Havent been there yet but it looks really fun and I'm ready to go there

Fantastic experience: Recently visited for a blood donor session. Clean and tidy, well set out with plenty of staff in attendance. Plenty of car parking spaces available. Nice clean toilets and well maintained. A drink machine is situated in the corridor with a variety of choices to eat and drink. Would visit again.
