Negative experience: Jersey beats, they were trying hard but it wasn’t good

Positive experience: It’s very well equipped and the staff are just on the right side of polite considering the amount of rubbish they have to put up with. My son and daughter are doing swimming lessons and the coaches are fab. The major thing that lets this place down is that they do not enforce the rule about outdoor footwear in the swimming changing areas. It’s disgusting that folk think it’s ok to walk in areas where other people are barefoot. The changing room floor is very dirty either way mud and dirty brown water. Sadly you cannot change certain people, they’re just gross, although that said the centre should do much more to enforce the rule of footwear in the changing areas. It really lets them down.

Positive experience: Went to watch my grandson at a swimming competition event. Facility has good range of pools. It is modern & clean. There is a reasonably well stocked cafe area for snacks & drinks. Quite impressed with this compared to some swimming baths I've been to elsewhere. Also noticed a fair size gym.

Positive experience: The fact the changing rooms are unisex, should be made clearer. I was part way through changing before realising there were men present! Not very good. Pools are nice but they closed the main pool unexpectedly which left the remaining pools quite busy. Very difficult to book online.

Positive experience: Change rooms lockers all take a 1 time 20p coin, but if you don't have change you have a problem. Reception state they are a cashless premises. Seems senseless having coin lockers ??

Negative experience: First time visiting this pool, struggled to use the online booking system wouldn't allow more than 3 adults on the booking. Plenty of parking. Miserable staff. First time in 20 years ive been to a pool where your locker money is not refunded, so if you need to access your locker you will need extra money to re-lock it, we asked for 20 pences to store our valuables were were told we don't keep any cash! So..we had to drag all our clothing shoes and valuables to pool side un attended. The changing rooms were adequate but very tatty. The hot tub jacuzzi was cold. The pool itself was clean and choice of 3 pools. However we had a swimmer with us who wasn't Confident, we weren't allowed to borrow a pool noodle, we couldn't bring our own in we had to buy one from there! The slide was only open once in the 90 mins and we had to queue at the bottom of the slide be the stairs were dodgy. Showers were nice and warm but no hair dryer. The cafe was dirty and theavhone swallowed.my cash so I asked for it back.anz was refunded in cash! The state of the actual facility I would describe as tatty, the fire doors you could see were broken and rusty and you could see daylight. The place needs a handyman on daily repairs and touch ups. Very disappointing. Won't be re visiting.

Positive experience: It's always hot in the building some times pool is cold

Negative experience: This is by far the worst "swimming baths" around (if thats what u can call it.) myself and my family have visited this place 5 times during the last 6 weeks and its got no better... showers havnt worked even once, the pools are always cold, the "lifeguards" are all teenagers by the looks of things and spend all there time chatting to each other, the changing rooms are dirty and freezing and there is a faulty hairdryer just left plugged in on the side. these are just a few issues with this place. and to top it of u carnt even use the big pool most of the time as there always seems to be some reason its closed. and recently theve put there prices up . the council need to do a spot check asap as this is far from acceptable.

Negative experience: Have been coming here to use the pool for 25 years (since they used to have a creche)! It's time the changing rooms were updated. No showers worked today (again) and hairdryer out of order (apparently they haven't got round to contacting an electrician). Very poor experience. Time to change to another venue. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: Swimming - First time going (2024) since before Covid, and not impressed. Showers were outputting a dribble and both lots of changing rooms we used had the odour of urine. There was a bucket under one of the men's urinals. The slide was fun.

Fantastic experience: Toilets absolutely spotless

Negative experience: Paying £30 a month for a membership when the staff are rude and sessions are often fully booked. Had a situation when my sister who met the age requirements was questioned on her age at reception she said that was fine and sent us through just for us to get in the water swim for a couple minutes and then get kicked out the pool and told to leave when they weren’t doing anything wrong .(there has been many situations like this) .Some life guards are friendly but others just look like they are falling asleep and don’t want to be at all.

Negative experience: Called ahead to check on water temperature as was taking our baby to the pool for the first time, was told 29/30° heat. Arrived at reception, friendly greeting from the staff, paid for 2 adults and one child, was told where the family changing area was. Walked in to the changing rooms where straight away you could see it was covered in muck all over the floor, although someone was trying to clean it to no avail. Got changed, showered before entering the pool (so cold walking towards the pool) the pool temperature in all 3 small pools was freezing! Sad looks from others with older children as everyone saying how cold it was! Not one pool was even close to the 29° our baby was so cold with bottom lip trembling, was terrible! Paid £13 to spend less than 20 mins due to it being so cold. Then family changing cubicle taken up by families clothing/shoes as they didnt want to pay for a locker. First time in 20 years ive been to a pool where your locker money is not refunded, so if you need to access your locker you will need extra money to re-lock it. Because of this there was no where to put baby to get changed in a single cubicle! Sadly our first and last time we will ever go there, would rather travel further for a warm pool. Did notice upon leaving, not one member of staff aknowledged us, maybe they are trained to be nice and chatty to you so you pay. Was so glad to get out of there and get the baby back in the car and leave.

Fantastic experience: Did a day pass to see what I thought and I wasn't disappointed the staff are very friendly and helpful. Also I think the memberships are great value for money

Fantastic experience: I am Joanna from Tidy&Shiny Cleaning Services. Every two weeks, I bring my children over for a swim. Not only did the children learn to swim, but I also learned to swim. The water is clean and warm, making it a great place for family on weekends.

Negative experience: Uncomfortably hot as a spectator to kids swimming lessons and showers are pathetic. Needs serious improvement

Positive experience: I have been 5 times for covid injections and also played tabletennis there up until lockdown and recently resumed playing there.

Positive experience: Comprehensive leisure facilities with main and play pools. Gym facilities and outdoor pitches. Staff always welcoming. Very good swimming club to get the children started.

Fantastic experience: I still think this is one of the cleanest pools I have been too. It also offers something for everyone, baby pool, fun pool, training pool, flume. Definitely an enjoyable outing. My only complaint, which applies to all public pools now post pandemic, is that booking is almost always needed as numbers are restricted, so one can’t go spontaneously any more, and time is restricted also….

Negative experience: Lights not working over the all weather pitches for months and reported numerous times. No-one wants to deal with it or take responsibility. Eventually someone says an order has been raised to carry out the work but when this will be who knows. In the mean time they are happy to keep taking our money for the block booking whilst providing substandard services.

Negative experience: Great leisure centre. Unfortunately too many non-bluebadge holders park in disabled bays. Odd really, as they don't want to walk far yet are going in to the leisure centre to workout . This has a negative effect on the real disabled people who need these spaces as they need the little extra space to get access in and out of their vehicle. A shame there are too many selfish people in the world.. Staff were apologetic regarding this, and it is not the staff that are at fault here. This car park is under the local council, and it is them that should monitor it. However if everyone was a bit more thoughtful of other peoples needs, then this would not be an issue at all. A year on and the parking has not changed. Makes things worse for those with multiple disabled members within the family. You ask some people why they haven't disabled a blue badge and you get abuse from them. Healthy body and mind... hmm.

Positive experience: Typical - why does the cafe sell such nice sausage rolls.

Fantastic experience: It was a night to remember. I'll not forget that had fun and meet all sort brothers and sisters.

Positive experience: It's a leisure centre. Still not fully open post pandemic. The TableTennis Centre has been a vaccination centre. (Very worthy). Still not back to being used as a table tennis centre. It should be.

Positive experience: Some badminton equipment is in poor condition. Some staff do not know how to put up a badminton net.

Negative experience: What a shocking company to deal with they have means to get a disable person in the pool but in the pool they ONLY offer lanes swims, so if you r disable and unable to move fair your NOT welcome what a joke if your disable you clearly don't want to spend all the time getting in to the pool to be forced to do lanes, My wife hasn't even been in the pool since her illness got bad so why would she go in to do lanes she has no idea if she can even still swim, the pool would help her she don't need to swim to get them benefits. If your disabled don't give this company your money as you might not even be OK to use the pool !!!! I would like to add this edit after reading many others here, I also had to call about 6 times before getting through, this company isn't a leisure center is a pre-booking health center with baby sitting pools as if your a adult and don't want to do lanes your out of look.

Positive experience: Easy to get to. Pools always a decent temperature. Changing rooms need updating as they never appear clean. We come as our son loves the choice of pools and that he can stand up. Down side is that every time I've been in the jacuzzi I'm always ill 2 days later.

Positive experience: Needs more air conditioning as on warm days it's unbearable

Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre with good facilities all round. Big pool for adults with serious swimming in mind & three little pools for children & families but again with different age groups in mind. Big slide & a jacuzzi. Plus the water is a nice warm temperature so it's really good for little one's. Staff all friendly & helpful. Loads of parking as well.

Positive experience: Most of the swimming facilities are good but why are there no hairdryers in the changing rooms, there are only two hand dryers but immediately around the corner there is a long table and mirrors, is this not where the hairdryers should be? Lots of people attempting to dry their children's hair under the hand dryers, adults have no option unless you squat under the hand dryer.

Negative experience: This place has definitely gone downhill. After trying to use booking system for family swim was told the payment hasn’t gone through so had to pay again. Two payments have left my account and they won’t refund money so have to try to get money back via my bank. Rude lifeguard…my children were jumping in like many others but seems she was sexist as it was ok for the girls but not my boys. In the diving pool again told not to jump in but you can dive ??? Complained regarding lifeguards behaviour. The manager was lovely and apologetic offered a free family swim but never received.

Negative experience: After spending 3 hours attempting to book via the website and the app I finally gave in and tried the phone line, once I had dealt with the automated system I was told I was being transferred to an operator whereby it proceeded to ring once and hang up on me. I made four attempts before growing frustrated and giving in. All this for a family swim.

Positive experience: I got my 1st covid vaccination here, very easy process, 1 way system. Hand sanitizer at the door. Knowing I'm not keen on needles, the staff were very kind and friendly telling me their names and generally outgoing I was booked for 7pm but managed to get my jab done between 1 and 2 soo I was really pleased with that

Negative experience: Only gave 1 star as I can't give any less. I can't even book swimming for my family. You need a login to book which is fine. I try to sign up but it says I already have an account ( probably from years ago). They sent me a link and all that does is asked me to pay for one of two yearly memberships. I can't go back or forward from this point. I try to reset the password and guess what, no email receives. I've tried calling 6 times, no answer and I've sent a Facebook message with no response. This happened in April and I ended up travelling out of town to somewhere else just for a swim.

Negative experience: Can't get through by phone to book a swimming session for 2 days, also can't book online as won't let me register. How am I suppose to take my child swimming ???

Negative experience: BE CAREFUL - the website states that the "flume will open periodically", BUT IT DIDN'T OPEN at all during our 1 hour session on Sunday and we were told by a lifeguard that it only opens when they have enough lifeguards to man it. Whilst this is understandable it should have been made clear as the 3 shallow fun pools are not enough to keep 4 kids aged 11 - 15 entertained. We wouldn't have bothered if we had known this when booking. The pools and changing rooms where all quite clean, but this in no way makes up for the £30 + that we paid!

Fantastic experience: Lovely pools, all very clean, including changing rooms! Perfect for my 10 and 3 year old to splash about in, not too crowded, impressed with their current booking system.

Positive experience: First time using facilities at Grantham Meres: most generously spaced lanes I have swam; naturally lit; clean. Half dozen showers. Having to book a slot is obviously keeping the numbers to a minimum so not too busy. Helpful staff at reception and, poolside. Very positive experience.
