Negative experience: A gym full of liar's. Asked them if they was getting a hip abductor machine. They said yes have it in black and white evidence. Then asked couple week's later when It would be. They said they ain't getting one now. I know laws well having a degree in law. Said that's misinformation act law broken. As soon as I said that they cancelled my contract because I see they broke the law. They don't help disabled people one bit. So if your are disabled need help at parts don't join this gym. They won't be helpful one bit.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this gym on and off for a couple of years now. When I cancelled previously it was simple and easy to do, I just called up and it was sorted effective immediately so I don't know what the issues are with the other people. I only cancelled before as I moved to a different area over lockdown, but when I was able to move back I returned and the staff remembered me and were happy to have me back. I've never seen an issue with the showers in terms of cleanliness and the staff have always been extremely friendly. The managers, the PTs here have been a laugh, extremely helpful and professional. It's why I returned! Ignore the reviews and come check it out for yourself

Negative experience: The showers are disgusting and the place isn't clean. There is almost never a parking spot despite being advertised. I don't think you can run a gym and sell parking if you only have 2 spaces. I came in once and because I wanted to park, they asked 2 ladies to leave to free up a space. It made me very uncomfortable and I thought it was incredibly rude. These are the reasons I tried to cancel my membership. Tried to cancel membership 2 months ago and have been refused. They have now called a Dect collector. Outrageous way to treat your customers. I hope people see this and think twice before signing up. Good gym for the low price, if you don't want to use the shower or park a car. But it comes with hidden costs such as bad customer service and unfair bad contracts

Negative experience: Unprofessional. Terrible management. Spent the entire first 6 months of my membership dealing with bailiffs for non payment when every payment since i joined has been made DD every month. Constantly told its sorted when nothing had and still recieiving money owed letters. Will never use an Energie Fitness again. Edit: and then to blatantly lie in your response. Shame on you and your awfully run business.

Negative experience: Been scammed with their direct debit policy I had to pay 98£ after finishing my membership (for private reasons, the gym is very nice and the staff too), but the problem is that you can't manage your membership online. When I finished I contacted by email they said it's fine but that was just a fake answer. I KNOW I had the membership which you pay a bit more so you can end it whenever you want but nothing helped... A useless app with no manage options and no help through their email or phone. This lead to being contacted from a debt recovery company (while waiting for an answer from the gym) but I had no choice, the debt recovery team finally confirmed me that they contacted the gym to close the direct debit having anyway to finally pay 98£. 98£ worked money paid for NOTHING... And as I said the gym is very nice.. but the management is very very poor.

Fantastic experience: It's a good gym. Has a bit of the old school gym feel about it. I'm enjoying my work outs there.

Positive experience: Perfectly good gym for a fair price, smaller than others but still with all the standard equipment and never too crowded at least after 5pm on weekdays when I usually go. Only issue is no changing areas, just a few bathrooms you are told you can change in, but long as you arrive in your gym clothes it's not a big issue.

Negative experience: Went to this gym for over 2 years enjoyed doing my training but the staff were always rude and things took forever to get fixed. Finally had enough of the staff and stuff not being sorted and have now left. If u ever join this place good luck with the horrendous staff and things never being sorted out a ton of people have left this place over the years and I now know why and the response below me is a blatant lie

Fantastic experience: Very lovely little gym, helpful and friendly staff that are always happy to give advice on exercises, and stop to have a chat when they're not busy. Equipment is very good but, they're are a couple of machines that I would like to add to my workout that aren't there. All round lovely gym and wonderful people

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for about 6months. All the staff are friendly, helpful and always willing to give some advice if needed. They don’t push PT on you like some gyms. It’s not huge which can be a pro or con depending on what you’re after, but it still has everything you need. Has a real friendly, community feel and it’s very clean and tidy!

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym with excellent professional and up to date equipment. It is also extremely tidy with the weights in the correct place, which is rare to see in such an affordable gym. The staff are also very nice and go out of their way to ensure you are okay with you gym experience. Definitely the best gym I have ever been to and would 100% recommend to everyone. Also, very good selection of music on the speakers in case you forget headphones.

Negative experience: It's shame it's come to this I feel disgusted by the way we have been treated by management and staff we have stayed loyal to this gym through tough times and feel the way a current problem was handled was poor we did not even have a chance to put our side of the story across we have now left so good riddance

Fantastic experience: Energie fitness is a great local gym, with everything i need for a full workout. The freeweights area has everything you could want and enough benches so even when it's busy there's not too much waiting around. There's a good selection of weight and cardio machines as well as an area called the yard which is used for boxing and all sorts of punishing looking cardio and strength training. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, and have helped me reach another level in strength training. Its a great place that I'm happy to visit 4 - 5 times a week. Dom

Negative experience: Update 21/5)21 - I still have not received my refund 3 weeks later. Disclaimer: since I posted this comment Energie Chelmsford have reached out to me to say that they are going to process my refund, that they are under new management who are committed to sorting out refund issues, that their only connection with the Colchester branch is the brand and that homophobia is not acceptable at the Chelmsford branch. However, it took me writing this public review for them to reach out which is very disappointing so I am leaving my original comment below: Energie fitness took around £100 out of my account over 3 months when they were closed due to the pandemic even though they sent an email saying that all accounts would be frozen automatically. It is now 10+ months on and despite numerous phone calls and emails I still have not received a refund. Bad company with terrible customer service and apparently no refund policy. Would never join again. A friend also left the gym after being verbally assaulted with homophobic comments in the Colchester branch and staff did nothing about it. AVOID.

Fantastic experience: Booked a trial on hussel,was greated by polite friendly guy,who showed my daughter and I how to use equipment and were toilet/changing room and lockers are.also sanitizer and paper for cleaning equipment. We had an enjoyable work out,realy good equipment and all social distance in operation.definetly recommend to others.

Negative experience: Deleting my reviews won't stop me commenting! this gym is terrible customer service is disgusting, apparently my refund was issued 3 weeks ago still no sign, ignoring my emails, no answer via their mobile or fb. Please avoid people, would rather pay more per month and go somwhere else than give these guys a penny!!!

Negative experience: Don't trust them. I froze my membership and they carried on taking direct debits.

Positive experience: On the smaller side but with enough equipment to get a good workout. There is no parking available so that will be an additional cost whenever you visit the gym, there is a multi-storey car park close to it. UPDATE: There used to be free parking at the multi-storey car park but it had been terminated due to improper use. Instead there are now 2 free parking spots available.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional. The part owner/manager, Jody started shouting at me & made physical threats against me too. He’s lucky I didn’t report him to the police! I feel sorry for anyone who has the misfortune of meeting this guy. As a gym goer for over 20 years, I have unfortunately seen this type of intimidating rage type behaviour before. The floor in some areas is uneven & a trip hazard. The gym has no parking either. There is a good choice of gyms in Chelmsford, so they should be trying a little harder to be professional or won’t last much longer.

Negative experience: I joined this gym and cancelled shortly after, they sent a few emails suggesting money would come out the next month so I contacted them and the Harlands Group to check the cancellation had gone through, they confirmed by email and phone that it had “We can confirm that your membership with Energie Fitness has been set to cancel with no further payments due.” Today out of the blue, over three months later I get an email from debt recovery saying I owe them £24.99 and if I do not pay in 7 days they will send this to debt recovery company and I will get a bad credit rating. This company is unprofessional and the way they have treated me is disgusting. Please do not join this gym. They have caused me so much anxiety and stress and now I don’t know if I have a poor credit rating even though they told me multiple times that I DIDN’T owe any more money they are now trying to send debt recovery after me. Disgusted.

Fantastic experience: Lovely quiet gym with everything you would need, friendly staff who make you feel very welcome. With it being 24hrs you are able to find a good time to train where it isn’t too busy. Would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Disappointing first impression of Energie Fitness in Chelmsford. Signed up on Friday with no mention what so ever of the joining fee, only that it was in small print in the terms & conditions. When speaking to a member of the team if anything can be rectified, they weren't understanding or willing to apologise at the misunderstanding. I will be cancelling my membership due to communication being so poor.

Negative experience: I tried to come in to sign up with a membership, a member of staff told me she’d be in until 8 (the time was 7:00) I said okay I’ll come in the next half hour and she said “can you come in the morning”. When staff are that lazy, it makes sense that my girlfriend and I will now take our gym membership elsewhere

Fantastic experience: Have recently joined this gym following very good reviews. Pleased to say I also found very helpful staff and great range of the latest equipment. Well positioned and useful 24/7 opening when you want to get in really early before work. Would recommend it.

Negative experience: From the day I first came in I have informed one of the staff members of my Intensions of joining for a month and a month only not once but twice yet it was never been cancelled, this was back in early April, however I left the UK and the direct debit hasn’t been cancelled( Late May) so I took matters into my own hand and cancelled it, initially revived an email from a debt collector received no reply followed by 3 emails telling me I am entitled to another month fee from the gym! Tried to contact the gym 3 times following each email and they kept on sending me the same automated email , Very bad customer service in my opinion, I enjoyed my time at Energie due to it being close to my house, however I’d avoid at all cost

Negative experience: Great whilst there's not a pandemic going on and they don't resort to stealing people's money when accounts have been frozen. No interest in resolving either- just tell you rather than ask you that this will be credited towards future payments and if you don't agree to claim the money back through your bank because it's not their problem. No care for the stress or financial burden this could place on an individual during the coronovirus pandemic. Avoid at all costs, this kind of behaviour is unethical and immoral.

Fantastic experience: I have to say, I have been to a few gyms and this is by far the cleanest I have been too. I usually come after 10pm and I see one of the cleaners in as I arrive and still cleaning all the way through my workout and still doing it as I leave. A great workout in a clean environment! And thanks to the PT who helped spot me and kept me company!

Fantastic experience: A few teething problems, although think nearly there with broadband, fobs, 24 hour access etc. Staff are amazing, really helpful, caring and will do all they can in their power to sort things out, makes all the difference. Looks a good clean gym, good machines for running and cross trainers. Couldn't comment on the weights etc though as don't know enough. Classes coming together now, doesn't seem too crowded but this may peak at certain times. Points to note, it's a communal change area but there are 4 lockable changing rooms with showers.

Negative experience: Lot of fake reviews on here but still no key fobs! Gym opened on the 7th March, nearly end of the month now. Can’t access 24 hours. Last update from gym was end of the week last week (17th) now the 24th and still nothing. Shambles!!

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. Friendly staff, great range of equipment; TRX ropes, punch bags, hex bar (trap bar) for my deadlifts. Good squat racks and good free weights area. Nice range of resistance machines and cardio machines. The Yard is awesome! Always do my warm up there before my weights. Keep up the good work guys!

Negative experience: worst gym avoid at all cost! cant take any type of feedback from members just delete any comments made. the management seems non existent signed up before the open and still cant access the gym when i want! plus don't even have the key fob to get into the gym other than the small hours they are open. many members trying to cancel there memberships a week after opening. for a place thats so small and supposedly cutting edge, they have done everything wrong! To top it all off not open 24 hours and no gym classes! whole advertising is false
