Bell's Sports Centre

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym unfortunately closed this now due to some idiot not closing the flood defenses costing millions of pounds of damage and being closed since November. Equipment is now being moved to Dewars Ice Rink but when that will be open to the public is an open question.

Positive experience: The new gym is fantastic, good range equipment. Clearly see that there has been money spent and thought put into it. Go as far to say its one of the best gyms in Perth but the price lets it down. Would be good if corporate memberships could be reintroduced, a bit unfair and know people who have cancelled their memberships due to the removal of the cooperate membership. There is not enough parking and completely avoid when they are holding gymnastics which they clearly dont let members know about. They seem to get priority and there is no thought for their paying gym members. There is no restrictions for them, running around screaming………had a group of them nearly run into me, with no apologises. There is also a stinky burger van, that appears when the gymnastics is on, right at the entrance, with the smell hitting you as you leave. Thought Bells was a Health & Fitness Centre………Again, depending on what days you go, will depend on level of customer of service you receive. As the acknowledgement or lack of, you get with even a simple “hello” or “goodbye”, they make you feel like you are a bother to them!!

Positive experience: The state of the gym is good, however often some equipment isn’t in operation. Changing rooms seem clean but they’re quite old. Toilets are so bad. Often dirty, often drying machine work by itself and just turn on and off which is a bit creepy to be honest.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic facility. Gym is excellent with new equipment and huge variety of kit. Shame Live Active can't push some of the new weights equipment in Perth to the live active gym in Kinross which is like a poor relation.

Positive experience: Quite a good big sports centre. It used to have a reasonable on site cafe which spectators could use. Not sure if that is still there. Handy location from central Perth and near a big park and the river.

Positive experience: At gymnastic comp. Set out really well. Only a minor complaint, it was rather hot and stuffy in the hall but understand needs to be for gymnasts but phew.

Positive experience: Every year we attend a tournament that spreads over three Saturdays throughout the year. The centre is spotless and facilities kept to high standard. On the other hand the stands are made of uncomfortable seats, the temperature within the large hall is way to high considering the activities taking place there, and vending machines out of order whenever you feel the urge for a snack or hot beverage.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, lovely staff especially Colin... absolute gentleman so helpful always welcomes you and takes time to talk.... so glad I came back to the Rodney to find it had moved to Bell's.... highly recommended especially for anyone looking for a change.... definitely the change I needed. ☝️

Fantastic experience: Hello, this is a quick review of the new gym. What can I say, it's huge!!! There's loads of equipment both CV stuff and weights benches and I reckon there's got to be about 80 if not more stations to use. The staff there are very friendly and happy to help as I wasn't sure about some of the kit. One very small criticism I have is you have to exit the gym to fill your water bottle. Although it's not a great hardship, it would be more convenient having the water tap/fountain in the gym itself. On the whole though, I am very impressed with the gym and I recommend it to everyone - I'll certainly be returning.

Positive experience: Was attending the cat show. It was great, good size area but the yellow lights made it very difficult to see/photograph the cats.

Positive experience: First time cat show in Bell's Sport Centre, well organised but on first arrival not clear from outside that the show was on there. Good car park close by and not expensive. Lighting in venue maybe could be better for showing. But Nice sports venue.

Positive experience: Good facilities for people of all ages & abilities. I go to Bell's regularly supporting a gentleman with cerebral palsy + complex needs. The staff know him by name and treat him with great respect. Bell's is a credit to Perth.

Positive experience: This is a great sports hall for a number of activities including badminton, basketball, football and more. Children and adults have a selection of things to do with all equipment being supplied here too. Theres multiple halls and changing rooms and seating areas. There's also a gym (which is about to be renovated and expanded during 2022) which is very popular. If you own a live active card you can get a discount on bookings too. There are a ton of vending machines for drinks and snacks but I'd advise to take your own as the prices are extortionate

Negative experience: no free parking and only accepts cash. popular hot spot for traffic wardens. parking would appear to be monday to friday however if you look a bit closer on the sign it also says saturday in a different section.

Positive experience: Reasonably nice sports centre by the Tay. It has toilets inside which are clean and open to the public, not just centre users.

Fantastic experience: Hired a handcycle and a normal bike for an hours cycle around the North Inch. Really friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Positive experience: Due to Covid, my fitness classes have started being held here from Rodney's. The place is immaculate, and the staff are extremely helpful. The classes are well spaced out for social distancing, and have plenty of hand sanitising stations and antibacterial wipes to clean equipment with at the end of the class. My only gripe is with the building itself. In 2020 it's beginning to look very dated and needs an upgrade, which, for obvious reasons, can't be done at present but it serves it's purpose for now.

Fantastic experience: We hold regular events with this centre and not only is its an amazing space, they are an amazing team to work with! They have two Hall areas; one is 6 badminton court big and the main arena is 15! The cafe area is good value and pleasant staff there too! Can't fault these guys!
