Negative experience: Better Broadway I have sent my email complaint but I like you to watch cctv footage 22 Dec2024 between 3pm to 4.05pm steam and sauna room so you can find out all information how people use like private place and no respect of others. I also in formed you reception as well to evon.

Fantastic experience: Very lovely female on reception. She was very helpful, empathetic and considerate. I cannot thank her enough.

Positive experience: Top local gym with freindly staff.

Negative experience: Visitors park in front of the shops,residential properties and on the road. Not good at all!

Negative experience: I don't recommend using their services at all. You can't freeze your membership unless you're pregnant or you have a letter from your GP. This outrageous, forcing people to pay for a service they aren't using. When you join, they also ask you to pay a 15£ fee, which makes the total of 50£. I've never heard in my life a company to tell you: you can't freeze your membership unless you're pregnant or physically ill." And besides, their dumbell area in this center is very small, and the bikes aren't very stable.

Fantastic experience: up dated from the old broadway bath's with gymnasium and sauna and steam room with a swimming pool for adults and children ,

Negative experience: Started really well 2 adults 2 kids and a baby went in after about 30 mins adult and baby got out as the 2 kids are good swimmers and we was sat at the side member of staff told us they not to come out because they was in the shallow end and wasn’t swimming so he didn’t think they where good swimmers 1st they did lessons at the centre as well as school and what kids go swimming to actually swim they go to have fun in the water. Payed for an hour and didn’t even get that full time.

Fantastic experience: My favourite pool. The team are really friendly and supportive. Everyone is welcome. Good range of facilities. Very family friendly. I'm glad this is my local pool.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at this centre steam room not working as well as other issues. Went for a casual swim it was far from it. Children and teenagers throwing balls around the pool and the staff unable to manage or keep control of the teenagers. They were running around the pool and diving in. Changing rooms were awful. When trying to get dressed teenage boys banging on the changing room walls and doors felt very unsafe at this swimming pool and would not recommend or go again. Wanted to try it as live locally and thought may use it because of spa and pool but no thanks I’m sticking with pure gym on Victoria avenue much better staff and atmosphere

Fantastic experience: Have just started going back to Broadway after many years of not really knowing what was happening with it. Since it’s been taken over by Better the improvements are obvious and it won’t be a race to get everything done but you can see the changes and they’re all for the better, literally.. my kids have both enjoyed incredibly cheap swimming lessons, great friendly staff.. Both went at Feb 1/2 term and over the Easter Holidays we take them on Sundays as much as we can and we love it, great family time. Sign up for a membership or get a PAYG, which we all have, more freedom and great discounts on line via the Better App which you can book any activity not just swimming

Fantastic experience: A classic Art Deco 1930’s swimming pool. Now branded as a Leisure Centre. Not that’s there’s owt wrong with that. Facility’s are excellent. Staff Friendly. Competent & knowledgeable. Check out their prices. Extremely good value

Negative experience: I think that it is honestly so unreliable as I looked at the website and it said the building closed at 5:00 and I have a whole gym schedule and I can’t exactly skip a day so I went at 2:30 and I got there at around 2:48 and after then I was told to leave the gym at 3:00. So overall I believe that the place is so unreliable as this hadn’t been the first time this had happened so I would not recommend. Also the gym is quite small and the gym equipment is damaged and the other day there was water leaking from the ceiling and some of the machines were out of use.

Negative experience: The kids enjoyed it but thats all i can say about the place thats good. Under £9 for 2 adults and 2 kids to go. Can't find any info online. Got a timetable off them which is only valid for a week. Member of staff outside smoking. Didn't seem to care about the customers. Lifeguard came dashing out bare foot to tell us to wait outside as she stuck a wet floor sign out with a piece if paper attached saying please que here. No more than 30 people allowed in the pool at once. There was only 6 people in total. Did not understand why we had to wait outside for 5 mins. Then the smoking lady comes in. 2 mins lady the life guard invites us in to pay. Cash only. The life guard is now the customer services person. We went and got it changed. Changing rooms in the main area was ok. Theres changing areas around the pool. No disabled changing room that i could see as the door had a big hole in it. Place smelled. The pool is so sad. I hate seeing these kind of places so run down. It needs a huge refurb. Some Lockers are hanging off which was a hazard. The keys have a bobble attached to them for your wrist. The pool has old steps to get into. The pool was quite warm. Its an old tiled pool with the gully drains around the side. This was dirty with mould. The walls had seen better days. Multiple different colours of paint all peeling. i have no idea why but both fire doors were were open which is at the bottom of the pool. This was again a hazard for young children or the disabled who could run out of there. Pool starts at 0.9m- 1.9m. When we was leaving the lifeguard turned into the cleaner. I hope this place gets some money soon to bring it up to standard and hire more staff.

Fantastic experience: Spot on

Negative experience: Haven’t visited here for years and I wouldn’t again. The woman on reception (Pam) was rude - “read the sign” she said, which I would have if it wasn’t flat on the floor. Also, called up and enquired never once said it’s cash only it’s the 21st century who doesn’t accept card payment. “Lifeguard” didn’t seem trained at all always apprehensive to challenge the kids when doing something they shouldn’t. Had a pool of over 30+ people majority children and had her back turned speaking at the door. It was filthy dirty too, keys had bobbles attached very unhygenic.The session finished at 4.45 and Pam was screaming be quick the building closes at 5pm whilst some hadn’t even had chance to shower. The floats had seen better days and considering the amount of people in it was hardly enough. Overall, unhygienic, rude staff, understaffed and by the looks of it inexperienced.Customer service training and a cleaner wouldn’t go a miss. I’ll go to North City next time much nicer staff and 100% cleaner.

Fantastic experience: Good centre

Negative experience: Everytime someone on the phone told us what times they’ll be open for the public swims the next day they weren’t doing the swim that they planned. They told us Friday the timetable for Sunday, got to the baths after an hours walk in the scorching sun to find it completely closed with a note on the shutter saying it’s shut for today. While it still says everywhere online that it’s still open. Completely unreliable! Now we have to waste money on a taxi home because my son can’t walk another hours walk back without a break/ cool down in between!

Positive experience: needs a refurbishment , gym equipment is old , but it does have a steam room and sauna , and a pool , so for 22 quid you can't really complain, take some flip flops

Negative experience: I applied for a junior gym membership 3 weeks ago I kept having to come in constantly for an induction day for me just to be turned away multiple times as staff was “sick”

Negative experience: Not enough staff and manger Pam rude like to blame staff and customer service shocking was told to find a different gym to attend because I turned up for swiming or to use the gym it was cancelled at short notice or closed because not enough staff, asked for a refund when told to find a new gym and was told no for a refund ... Not what you expect when you pay a membership

Positive experience: I have been going to this leisure centre for a good number of years now. It's a great place for both individuals and families alike. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to help you out. EDIT: Unfortunately, I have to agree with another reviewer here - recent recruits to this place have absolutely no manners and are very unhelpful. They seem to be only there to collect their salary at the end of the month. After 7 years, I have left because of this. I have downgraded my rating from 5 to 3

Fantastic experience: It's great getting back to being able to use the gym and have a swim again. The gym is small but we'll equipped and the adult swim sessions are still at a good level for swimming unimpeded. I loved my visit.

Positive experience: I have been attending the pool here for nearly a month. I need to exercise a dodgy leg so it is ideal. Covid19 rules apply: Mandatory Face mask wearing (when not in pool) and social distancing. Staff are pleasant and professional. Place is cleaned at regular intervals as you would expect. The pool is a little shorter than most pools I have swam in. The shallow end is particularly shallow so I cannot swim a full length as my legs dangle when doing the breast-stroke. So half lengths and repetition of low impact exercises are just fine for me. I enjoy visiting here as only 10 minutes brisk walk from where I live.

Negative experience: I have been swimming here for two months, and my daughter is also learning to swim here. Everything is fine. Last week I took my daughter to swim and when finished I took my daughter to an adult changing room. I never knew that I couldn't bring a child in. My English isn't very good therefore I didn't pay attention to the sign on the front of the door with small writing on. There is a woman named: Kirsty Valentine who rushes in and says to me: You can't bring a child in here. I replied: Oh, I didn't know, I am coming out very soon. At that time, I was already dressed, and I was packing my bag. I was hoping Kirsty V would give me time to come out, but she asked my four-year-old daughter to keep the heavy door open by hand. My daughter screamed and screamed due to the heaviness. The door was pushing her back. The door is too heavy, and it almost caught my daughter. I rushed over and held the door. I said it again, to give me more time. She did not give me another chance. She took my daughter to the shower room again, at that time I took my stuff come out .I really can't believe why this woman can treat my child like this. I can swear to God that everything I have said is the truth. I just hope this doesn't happen again as no parent or child has to be put through this stress. Please share this with others.

Negative experience: This is the second complaint I have had to make due to the manager complaining at me and my friend for unnecessary reasons which makes me come to think that we are being watched by the staff on the cameras which makes us feel very uncomfortable!! Also we have been coming to this gym every day around 3 o’clock for months now only to be told that we cannot enter the gym until half past three which has ‘apparently’ been a rule for a while now however we have had no notice about this until today where we had to wait for half an hour.Do not go to this leisure centre I am thinking about cancelling my membership !!!

Positive experience: Good swimming pool size and the fun hour for kids on a Saturday is a nice touch. Shame it wasn't a little longer for the kids as you find yourself in and out pretty quickly. But for the price of admission, you certainly cannot argue! Would recommend for a quick dip on a Saturday with the kids.

Fantastic experience: Membership is well worth it's weight in gold when you get your swimming and gym sessions in with it. Very reasonably priced and good facilities.

Negative experience: Previously gave this a 5 but today have had to edit and downgrade to a 1 due to the standards slipping so much in the last couple of months. Staff power washing the dirty floors into the pool while swimmers still using. Gym equipment broken and never being replaced. Gym machines being broken and taking months to be repaired. And now the steam room is also broken! Floors in changing rooms not being cleaned regularly. Staff not cleaning gym area enough. Weights and benches being left everywhere which means you have to spend 10 minutes cleaning up after other people to make space - before you have even started your workout. No management or supervisor available to discuss this apparently (until 6pm tonight - 7 hours after my visit) but happy to charge full membership even though full equipment / facilities not available. Don't know what is happening here but not the place it was.
