Our comment from FitFit UK about Fareham Leisure Centre:
Fareham Leisure Centre is a well-equipped facility offering a variety of activities suitable for all ages. Visitors have praised the centre for its excellent gym with a diverse range of equipment, affordable membership prices, and a wide selection of classes to choose from. Parents appreciate the dedicated areas for children, including swimming sessions and soft play facilities, which contribute to a family-friendly atmosphere.
Many users commend the friendly and helpful staff, who are regularly noted for their support and positivity. The centre also boasts various amenities such as a large swimming pool, a splash pad, and additional leisure facilities including rock climbing and a sauna.
However, some visitors have expressed concerns regarding the pool water temperature, which occasionally is deemed too cold, and issues with cleanliness, particularly in men’s facilities. Additionally, technical glitches with the booking app and website have been a source of frustration for several users.
Overall, Fareham Leisure Centre stands out as a popular destination for leisure and fitness, providing a fantastic environment for both solo workouts and family activities, despite some areas needing improvement.

Fareham Leisure Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: Really disappointed with fareham leisure centre. Have had many issues with water temp being cold and Splash pad not working properly.
Fantastic experience: I came here for a UWCB event, the event was seamlessly ran. All the staff were incredible, the event was filled with hours of entertainment and defo a night to remember!
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre, good equipped gym, variety of classes to chose from. Reasonable membership prices
Fantastic experience: First time coming today. Download the Everyone Active App, book a time slot for whatever your activity. Use the QR code. Loads of facilities and friendly staff. £1 for lockers and loads of parking.
Fantastic experience: Top leisure facility. Great gym with plenty of equipment and machines.
Positive experience: Can be busy at times however not bad gym.
Positive experience: Friendly staff. Clean changing rooms and gym. Friendly members too
Positive experience: Too few shops of different types
Positive experience: Pool is large and accommodating, if a little chilly, showers and changing rooms on the other hand are about 30°c which is a bit of a contrast! Price good, website rubbish, app ok to use. Annoying one has to give all personal information and register to simply swim twice. Flying double visit to swim while at a construction project.
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities and staff.
Fantastic experience: Great RPM classes and good quality gym
Fantastic experience: Good place for a model railway exhibition
Positive experience: The men's toilet was disgusting tonight. Smelly, no extraction fan, stuff on the floor etc. A shame because I think Fareham is a good centre.
Fantastic experience: Our children attend weekly swimming sessions and have recently completed the crash course. All staff are friendly and helpful. Our children also enjoy the soft play and top rock climbing. We spend a lot of our time at the leisure centre, encouraging healthy habits.
Fantastic experience: Excellent classes, amazing gym, brilliant staff, overall great place to workout from beginners to those who are more experienced.
Fantastic experience: The baby pool was lovely and warm, not too many in the pool, and the splash area was good fun.
Fantastic experience: Staff always helpful and friendly. Well organised leisure centre. Have no issues with using this centre.
Positive experience: First visit. Nice little learner pool. Could see the splash area but didn't use it. Two concerns. Firstly they have family changing rooms. Would be really nice for a family shower cubicle. It is impossiblee to shower wriggling baby and shower yourself without an extra pair of hands. It's too cold to take it in turns in separate rooms. That's a tip for all leisure centres, not just this one. Secondly, more information in reception, on paper for us oldies. Not just to be told, it's all on the app. Just a swimming timetable. I found the website too intense.
Positive experience: Coming from the partner gym of holly hill, the swim, steam and sauna facilities were spacious however kept very unclean compared to. If it was clean would be rated quite a bit higher
Fantastic experience: Really love this gym - loads of equipment and much more room to move about in comparison to their sister branch HollyHill. Tidy, friendly staff, and lots of classes available
Fantastic experience: Clean ...staff excellent. Food great
Fantastic experience: Really well kept leisure centre with loads of clubs for kids. Staff are super helpful
Positive experience: Plenty of free parking. Good facilities.
Fantastic experience: Family friendly playground and lovely chill area indoor pool looks refreshing and i’m definitely gonna try it out in the summer
Fantastic experience: First time visiting today due to our session being cancelled at our usual leisure centre. What a lovely surprise ! Every single member of the team were friendly and welcoming (especially the young girl working at the soft play and the cafe team) Swimming facilities were good. Highlight was the new splash slide in learner pool. We will be back. Thankyou
Positive experience: Big leisure centre that gets quite busy at peak times. Nice and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Will be returning on a regular basis as they do early morning swimming
Positive experience: If you close at 10pm on a Weekday, then can this please be reflected on your business hours? Both on the front door and google it you're down as shutting at 22:30, but I was turfed out at 22:00
Fantastic experience: Great gym that’s always spotless with good range of equipment. Got a really good feel to the place and all the staff are super friendly always welcoming with a smile. The team here need to teach the Winchester everyone active a lesson in cleanliness and customer service.
Fantastic experience: The leisure center is a cool place. And the food at the center is really yummy! They use fresh ingredients, and you can get a big meal or just a snack. I went to a gymnastics event there, and it was awesome! The athletes did amazing, and it was so exciting to watch. Overall, the leisure center is awesome. It's got everything you need for a fun day out. I can't wait to go back and try even more stuff! Plenty for parking too
Fantastic experience: Attended for the southern aerobics competition. Grandaughter in the final. Good atmosphere well attended . Good facilities clean and tidy.
Fantastic experience: Been using the gym here for about a year. Can't fault it. Staff are friendly, gym is always clean even when busy. Cafe and soft play are great for taking the kid to.
Negative experience: Filthy and the training pool is missing about a foot of water
Fantastic experience: Great service from Kyla and Sydney we were here back in December and back now! They are great and vey friendly always happy to help and the front front desk it’s always helpfull and smiling.
Positive experience: Leisure centres good but the cafe food, coffee and staff were not good
Positive experience: Great place for swimming for kids, decent showers, and lockers that work with straps that work. Only negative is the mens toilets in the swimming area is terrible. Always has been. Sewers smell nicer.
Negative experience: Granddaughter went for prebooked swimming lesson only to have to leave straight away. Work requiring a pneumatic drill was being carried out next to teaching pool. Children crying and staff walking about with tissue in their ears including swim teacher. I drove to building and I could hear the drilling noise outside. Must have been awful inside. My daughter was told there would be some 'light intermittent ' drilling. I spoke to Steve (membership manager) who tried to help (thank you). I spoke to Aiden ( operation manager)who my daughter had also spoken to. He told her to make a comment on the 'portal '. No that's where you write about lack of toilet rolls. Aiden did the usual we will look into it and there will be a refund for missed swimming lesson. When I asked if noise levels were monitored at all times whilst work was carried out, he didn't know. He is the operation manager for goodness sake, he should know. Risk assessments? Contacted EHO at FBC who said they had received many complaints about the noise and the case worker was looking at the situation. Where was RYAN GRANT (the construction manager)? Would he be happy to let his children, friends, family be in a building with that level if noise. Oh Aiden did point out the workmen were wearing ear defenders! Glad their ears are OK.
Positive experience: The aircon was not very good in the cardio area. This should be actioned as it makes for uncomfortable high intensity work outs.
Negative experience: Sauna stinks so bad and should be closed immediately for further inspection
Positive experience: Generally this is a great place to exercise, bring your kids, swim etc. Sometimes the organisation is a bit hit and miss but that seems to be the 'everyone active' part, the app etc as any employees I have spoken to in person are helpful and efficient. The cafe is great but on a few occasions there hasn't been some hot food available (middle of the day wkend) and for some reason won't serve chips on its own or beans and chips etc. We were a bit stuck with hungry kids on a busy afternoon, crisps and chocolate were the only choice! Swimming lessons reasonably priced and good enough, a little like a factory of children going through but the teachers seem to know the kids well enough. If you want more of a personal touch to the lessons I'd go elsewhere!
Fantastic experience: Great selection of classes for adults and swimming lessons for young children.
Positive experience: Love this place, but wish they would get the roof repaired properly and the cleaning sorted!!
Fantastic experience: Went to Top Rock today with my Autistic lad. The staff there was great. Especially the guy that work there, sorry didn't get your name. Was today 19th Dec @ 12.30. Thanks for being so patient with us. Totally recommend it.
Positive experience: Great gym with new equipment, lots of facilities like rock climbing,Swimming, classes & has a cafe which is always a winner, I used to do 5 a side football there Tuesday afternoons organised by ourselves, leisure centres are a safe bet.
Fantastic experience: Great local facilities
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre for all the family. Climbing wall, swimming pool, splash pool, gym it has it all
Positive experience: Good price for swim clean tidy but the cafe is massive rip off
Fantastic experience: Great customer service, took my daughter swimming all clean, no problems
Fantastic experience: A fine asset to the city of Fareham
Fantastic experience: Went swimming with my little one. they have a great little splash area here and a teaching pool completely separate to the adult pool. The family area and showers clean good facility
Positive experience: Hadn't been there since covid. Place now completely refurbished & much improved. Very crowded though.
Negative experience: We keep giving Fareham Leisure Centre the benefit of the doubt, over and over again… Both our sons have swimming lessons there. We’ve had no end of complications. Firstly, their online login and app are appalling to use and in no way intuitive. Because we’ve got three people (myself and my two children) registered under one account it’s meant I’ve never been able to use the app because it can’t cope with multiple users. Surely this can’t just be an issue affecting our family? I’m surprised Everyone Active haven’t got their website/app designer to fix such a poor design. It is also not immediately clear how to move a child from one class to another and the reception refuses to do that for you as it’s ‘policy’ not to. I believe they’ve recently changed the process of moving children up from one class to the next but it’s taken years of frustration to come about. The boys had a fantastic swim instructor on Sundays but she’s changed her working hours and we’ve since had several months of different instructors and cancelled lessons. My three year old has felt the effect of this greatly as none of the instructors know his abilities and the inconsistency is preventing him from making progress. After yet another cancelled class this morning (with an hour’s notice), I tried to book us in for a family swim this afternoon to make up for the lost time in the pool, but the website no longer lets me sign in at all, even after password resets. I’m not holding my breath that I’ll be able to book at reception but I guess I’ll be giving them the benefit of the doubt yet again. With a heavy heart, I’m going to have to start entertaining the idea that it’s time to start looking for a new swim school.
Negative experience: I booked for family swimming sessions for 2.30 on 15/08/23 via the phone and when I came to the centre they said whoever had booked it had booked us in for 11am accidentally. The receptionist contacted the duty manager Amelie who radioed to say there was nothing she could do and I insisted she spoke to me in person. Reluctantly she came to reception and was extremely rude telling us there was nothing she could do except offer us soft play tickets. My son then began crying his eyes out, as did my friends children as they were all ready to go swimming. She refused to allow us into either pool, refused to give me the name of the manager or the date of when they were in again. She was rude, abnoxious, unprofessional and kept telling me what she CAN'T do for me instead of what she COULD do. We want to cancel our swimming membership and I will NOT be reccomending the centre. I'm absolutely appalled.
Fantastic experience: Has a fab climbing area and a soft play.
Negative experience: On hold on phone for half hour... still no answer.
Negative experience: Rubbish….they only cater for children and families. It’s hard enough to book an adult/public swim and impossible to book during the summer holidays!
Negative experience: Air conditioning is never great they never seem to put it completely on so alot of the time it's why to hot and if your disabled they ignore your needs
Fantastic experience: Had a great swim the staff were very friendly and helpful
Positive experience: Everything has to be done on their app which can be frustrating
Negative experience: I can rant for ages, but lets be honest the staff are so rude and terrible here they wouldn’t care about this review anyway! The only good thing here is top rock and their staff but they unfortunately due to the rest of the place, its just awful and I can promise i will not be coming here ever again. Its a shame that top rock will now lose out on our custom every week because of the rest of this place.
Negative experience: Thinking about a soft play party? I wouldn't bother. This was the worst experience ever. Party organiser was a no show. Room was dirty. Kitchen staff were going to just put the food out and leave it out for an hour as the kitchen was closing at 4pm. We had the nice big room 2 booked, only to be told we'd been gazumped by a rock up party that wasn't actually a rock up party and didn't start until nearly 2 hours after hour booking. No surprise that room was sparkling clean. Our smaller room was insanely hot. As for the dairy and nut allergy they said they could cater for. No food was labelled and 2 children had to go hungry. Staff on reception were asleep every time you had to come in or go out with heavy boxes. Go somewhere that caters for children and allergies and that actually cares about you.
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre with great classes, especially FORTIS.
Positive experience: Only used the swimming pool; sauna & steam room. Everything was clean and fine. The changing room and showers are functional. The car park is on site, large and close to the facility. Will visit again.
Fantastic experience: Always clean. The pool isn't too crowded and there are lanes for swimmers to stay in.
Fantastic experience: A really good pool for kids, splash pad area was good and the pool as warm.
Fantastic experience: Clean
Positive experience: Heated floor tiles in the changing rooms used during the cold half of the year.
Fantastic experience: Good centre overall
Fantastic experience: Weekend Swimming Pool is great for oldies & grandchildren together. 1st time using clean pool. Staff excellent, helpful in every way including disability hoist to get me in & out after a lovely hour. Wish 1 chaning room had a shower for wheelchair users, but still a great time to had getting fit, floating about or just having fun!
Fantastic experience: Very good
Positive experience: Friendly staff , but cafe area a right mess. No one clears tables or sweeps up. Good other facilities
Fantastic experience: Wife went for her first, swimming lesson, so proud of her xx
Negative experience: Booked on the app. (several days ago). Nothing on their system. No spaces left. Waste of time as we were not able to swim at all. Friendly staff, but the computer system still doesn't work (3rd time, various errors). As I waited for friends to change (as we couldn't swim), I observed the entry / exit barriers : they are difficult for 4 out of 5 visitors. This means the (friendly) booking people need to help in 80% of cases and it adds to the delay, frustration and queues. What a shame again (3rd attempt).
Negative experience: Went to Fareham Everyone Active on 1 February 2023 to book a group of 20 Guides for swimming on 8 February. Told by reception lady no bookings in for Wednesday 8th February, so shouldn't be a problem but she could not book me in it had to go to the Booking lady. She was not there so took my name and number and lady on reception emailed my details to booking lady, while I was there. Heard nothing by weekend, so emailed them. Heard nothing by Monday 6th lunch time. After waiting 20 minutes for Jenny the booking lady to come to the phone. Not enough room for 8th February..... Would another Wednesday be ok. Answer NO!! The only helpful lady was Hannah who answered my call on 6th , she is the reason you got one star. So now I have to get something worked out and planned for guides for Wednesday. Thanks a lot Everyone Active Fareham.
Positive experience: I enjoy Fridays Forever Fit at 10.30am & Aqua at 9.30am, very much. My only problem is trying to book. A lot of people book it & then cancel as late as they possibly can to avoid a fee, but is this really fair? There was a waiting list of 6 people for Aqua since Monday. I managed to get in after 9pm last night, but this morning, there were 5 spaces! This means the class could have possibly been full! It's bonkers
Fantastic experience: Took grandkids to clip and climb and they had brilliant time
Positive experience: Receptionist was great very helpful.
Positive experience: Good value and plenty to do with the kids.
Fantastic experience: My visit was to use the gym. I have not used this leisure centre since before it was extended. It was good before but has taken a leap to be even better, including a huge and excellent gym.
Negative experience: Coldest night on record in England and no hot water
Negative experience: Went to the toddler swimming this evening and the water temperature was below the recommended temperature. Did mention to staff and had a refund.
Negative experience: I was in Fareham shopping Mall but not the Leisure Centre so cannot give a review of the Leisure Centre.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities for all ages to enjoy, gym is spacious and the class programme has lots of variety. Kids love the soft play and the cafe does some great snacks.
Fantastic experience: Great gym and leisure centre since refurbished
Fantastic experience: Really clean and nice environment for kids. Love the splash pool for kids, soft play.
Fantastic experience: Not been since refurbish but wow what a good one. Cafe is much better, expected prices, but need to empty the bins more often.
Fantastic experience: FLC, it is super. Friendly staff, nice gym & sauna
Negative experience: If i could give a zero rating i would. I've just left here after coming in to enquire about a membership. After waiting for 10 mins in a queue and 5 mins whilst they looked for someone. Only to be told nobody was available to help us and could we come back. The person he wanted to help us was busy watching another member of staff help someone navigate an app on their phone and watching us. I'll go elsewhere as i dread to think how theyd actually cope with a problem. All in all i found them unhelpful and a bit rude.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym ♂️
Positive experience: Recently started going back to this Leisure Centre after around 7-8 years to start going to the gym and I wasn't disappointed. I've only explored the gym as apart of their new extension and it's got enough room and keeps a cool temperature, especially with the heatwaves coming in. I wouldn't rate it 5/5 because as I said, I used to go here around 7-8 years but that was for swimming lessons as a kid. It was a great experience from what that I can remember, but the staff in the kid size pool were too overprotective and weren't letting me push myself and when I moved to the main pool, there was little to no support at all. Ended up moving somewhere else far better.
Fantastic experience: The place is wonderful, lots of helpful and kind personal trainers around to chat to and answer questions. The gym closes at 9:30pm on Sundays just an FYI - hopefully I can save someone else from being ushered out by an angry blonde lady half way through their workout
Fantastic experience: Loved it, brilliant customer service and also clean and tidy amazing facilities.
Fantastic experience: Gym is great value when you get swimming, sauna and steam room added to those benefits. A little bit crowded for space, but it's usually well-cooled and there's lots of high tech machines for use. Swimming changing rooms are very humid which makes it hard to dry off, but this is unlikely to be avoidable. Sauna and steam room are both well-kept and always a joy to use.
Positive experience: Lots of activities available to people of all ages , complemented by a nice little cafe for refreshments.
Fantastic experience: Where can I start. The amount of activities and sports you can get up to in this leisure centre is amazing! I’ve been going there for a while now and have been using the gym equipment and the swimming pool as well as the occasional squash match with father dearest. Furthermore there is a fantastic skate park out side of the centre which I know my friend Samual uses often. I really recommend this place due to its lovely staff always wanting to assist and give a helping hand if needs be. The newly added climbing wall is by far my favourite aspect. Superb place to exercise! :)
Positive experience: We went to Top Rock yesterday. The staff were really skilled and professional, and we had a really great hour enjoying the climbing. What a great experience, thank you. To get full marks, the rooms could do with an airing as there was a traditional feety smell (reminded me of school) and also the booking process/ information sent on booking could seriously be improved. It was obscure to find, and the confirmation was only for payment. I would have appreciated the e-mail confirmation to state what we were doing, what time to arrive, what to wear etc.
Fantastic experience: I've been a member of Fareham gym for 7 months and have found every visit great. I regularly use the gym, studio for classes like pilates and yoga as well as the swimming pool for length swimming and public swim. The staff are friendly and accommodating. There is a cafe on site too which serves lovely breakfasts and lunches as well as a selection of cold and hot drinks which are all reasonably priced and high quality. All together, it's a brilliant leisure centre.
Positive experience: The main pool is freezing
Positive experience: Swimming membership is good value, at £25 a month. Good range of times to use the pool. Changing rooms (and pool for that matter) can be very cold! Feels like they turn all the heating off half way through the month once they hit their budget. Children's pool far too cold and changing rooms really make our babies cold. Wouldn't visit with them again until they are a lot older.
Fantastic experience: Really great centre
Positive experience: Take my little boy here to use the soft play which is great but the cafe needs attention, thier coffee is awful, asked for a latte and got a hot milk. I told them there was no coffee in it and got pretty much shouted at by the cafe manager. It's 1 shot of coffee, if you want another shot you have to pay for it. I would of been happy with a dribble of coffee in at this stage
