Positive experience: Went there for a complimentary afternoon cream tea. Staff were really amazing and in a lovely room. Took a look at the main menu, some interesting and unusual items. Must go back there for some lunch

Fantastic experience: Absolutely great hotel ! stayed 15/12/24 must just say about the 2 receptionist Victoria and Charlotte who are the loveliest girls, so helpful and professional and gave us the best greeting, fast check in , they are certainly a credit to your hotel and made our stay even better, rooms are lovely and clean and a brilliant breakfast, I would definitely recommend this hotel you’ll have the best time, we didn’t use the spa facilities bit we are booked in again in Jan to bring our granddaughter and with definitely use them then, once again thank you for making our stay enjoyable, see you in Jan xx

Negative experience: tired building, long corridors, sneaky car park charges, poor location for a Tesla super charger

Positive experience: Really pleasantly surprised that we hadn't stayed here before. The room was lovely, and well fitted out, although you can get some noise from other room doors closing. There's a well equipped gym and good sized swimming pool. We'd certainly come back.

Negative experience: Had our works Christmas party here for the first time and it'll definitely be our last. Food was lovely, but the DJ was atrocious! I've never gone to a Christmas party where we've never danced, he was playing awful songs, 4 tables where empty, I mean, read the room Fgs!! We won't be back!

Positive experience: We were here to celebrate our joint 60th birthday party, we had almost 200 guests, several of the family and friends stayed at the venue the room we hired was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly as I set it up in the afternoon. The buffet was just what our hungry guests needed, we stayed in the ambassador suite for 2 nights (little birthday treat) the room was great and the bed was very comfy too. The pool was excellent, very clean with ample seating around it. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the house keeping staff, we will definitely stay there again and we are looking forward to a spa day there in the new year.

Positive experience: We've been here for a spa day, and it was great! The facilities, pools, and sauna are just perfect. The complimentary lunch could be better, but still decent. The massage treatment is OK, but claimed to be 25 minutes, while in reality around 15 minutes.

Negative experience: The first room I was given had wallpaper pealing off the walls, stained sheets and was freezing as the heating didn’t work as well as mould in the bathroom and no shower gel. The second room was smaller but it was just me so not a huge issue except it was freezing cold due to no heating again mould in the bathroom. Staff were really friendly.

Positive experience: Lovely place for a business trip. Chosen because of leisure facilities, but I was unable to do any serious swimming. This was due to the usual holiday type activity by kids and parents alike. Didn't use the restaurant, so hence the score kept slightly lower.

Positive experience: This is a lovely hotel, the pre arrival booking and service was exceptional. The issue came at breakfast, what a disgrace and shambles. We waited to be seated and the hostess laughed as she sat us at the table she described as "the only one that is clean" and she wasn't joking. My wife and I sat at a table surrounded by tables piled high with dirty cups and plates and leftover food. Honestly a horrible environment to eat in. When we went to get breakfast at the self service counter, the dishes were empty so we had to keep going back when the eggs were ready or the mushrooms were ready etc etc. No effort was made by staff to clear the tables. Its such a shame as it was a real crappy ending to an otherwise nice stay. Challenge **** look at the photos spot the clean table you would be happy to sit at and eat as this was our view as we ate . When asked if everything was ok on checking out we mentioned the breakfast but the guy at reception wasn't interested at all or even bothering to ask what the problem was so here it is.

Fantastic experience: Visited 26/10/24 for party in Royal suite. Very smart and clean venue. Food was amazing. We enjoyed the djs choice of music and had us dancing. Would recommend venue for parties.

Fantastic experience: Rooms, very clean. All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. The evening restaurant staff were attentive, but not overly so. Food quality at evening dinner and breakfast were very good.Great location for our purpose as overnight stay on way to Scotland

Fantastic experience: We got married at The Park Royal Hotel and had the best day ever!!! From booking the wedding in October 2023 to our big in September 2024 everything has been perfect!! The whole process from start to finish has been stress free due to the great team at the hotel. Sally in the events team is amazing and so helpful with my many questions and queries. The day was planned perfectly and everything went so smoothly! We can't thank her enough!! On the days leading up, on the big day and also after James, Mary and Tom were brilliant! They put us at ease before our ceremony, ensured everything went without a hitch and were professional throughout! James ensured that everyone was happy, checked in on us and made sure my dress was perfect as I walked up the aisle. Mary was everywhere ensuring everything went to plan and on time, always there if we needed her for any questions. Tom, thanks for running our wedding breakfast and getting involved with the wedding speech sweepstake!! Jamie and his team on the bar were brilliant, we had a great time and even managed to empty the garden suite bar of tia maria from all the baby guinnesses!! Jamie was extremely informative at our wedding menu tasting around the wines they had on offer. The food was great and catered for everyone dietary requirements! Most of our guests stayed the night at the hotel and it was lovely to share out memories of the day with them whilst enjoying a great breakfast the next morning!!

Negative experience: Visited this place to have a dinner with a business client who was staying at the hotel. The entire hotel lobby was smelling like a pig farm. The food was ok but couldn’t beat the smell. Total waste of money. Never going there for a a dinner again. Please avoid this place.

Positive experience: We came as our friend was getting married in the area. The hotel itself is very big and the gym and sauna seems quite good for a hotel. The rooms were quite big but our bed was firm on one side and very dipped on the other side, the decor was abit old fashioned but I liked the wood. The room was very warm and there is a ceiling fan rather than any air con, so maybe a summer visit should be cautionary. The breakfast was a buffet style full English, food was topped up quickly but the coffee machine was very hit and miss. It does get very busy and the car park is huge, I liked there was EV charging at the back of the hotel which was very useful but only for supercharging.

Negative experience: I made a suite reservation for myself and two other travelers via Expedia and paid suite pricing of over 220 pounds. Upon arrival, I checked in, went to the room and found it was obviously not a suite. I called the front desk and asked if this was a suite and was informed the room was a double. After explaining I paid for and booked a suite I was told they didn’t have any suites available. The agent had no intention of helping me, even after I said we’d have to put one of us on the floor as the bed was very small. I had to ask for a rollaway bed which was provided but let me tell you, my dog sleeps on better. The room was hot, stunk of stale air, had one towel, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Next day, I asked Expedia to refund me the rate of the suite. I was willing to pay for the double. The hotel said the booking was for a double but as seen by my charge and receipt I paid for a suite. This hotel is a thief and would not refund any of my charge. I am going to contest this charge with my bank and I recommend to anyone traveling through the UK from overseas to avoid this mess of a place they call a hotel.

Negative experience: Check in - left a lot to be desired. Disorganised and unhelpful. Left a bad first impression. One person working the desk with a queue of people waiting to check in, when it was finally my turn the lady behind me in the queue got served first with no regard for me. There was never an apology or thanks whilst waiting, we are just ignored. Breakfast the following morning - Said I hadn’t paid for breakfast even though I was on a spa break so had to get the manager to confirm that it was, indeed, included. Checkout - Said I had no balance to pay on checking out and then sent me an unexpected bill afterwards by email with no explanation, so I had to contact them to work out what was going on. Room and spa were fine. Food - at the bar was mediocre. Had not been reheated properly as was hot on the outside but cool in the middle and quite dry. Overall - Really poor organisation that ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing spa break. I ended up more stressed out than I started and I would not recommend or return.

Fantastic experience: This is a very good hotel for families with children to stay. Rooms are OK. Amenities are good. Toilets won’t flush properly. Excellent Pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna. Towels and soap are supplied. Nice changing rooms. Nice restaurant with good hot breakfast and fancy coffee machines. But less vegetarian choice for lunch and dinner. Good Bar. Most importantly very efficient and most friendly staff. Victoria at the front desk walks a mile extra for clients comfort. Location is good in a non-busy rural area. Good to relax. But the only caveat is no medical facilities near by. In an emergency the ambulance cannot reach within two hours and there is no hospital or emergency care nearby. But the courtesy of the staff both at the hotel and restaurant compensate for its drawbacks.

Fantastic experience: Didn't actually go into the hotel; just dropped off Daughter #2 plus A N Other so that they can attend the nearby Fields of Cream Festival, which I assume is something to do with dairy farming. The hotel seemed v. nice, though, from what I saw of it, i.e. the car park and the front door. Based upon that I would highly recommend this as a place to rest your weary nut.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous hotel and spa in south Warrington and easy to get to. Went on a spa night package, and was well looked after. Plenty of parking onsite. The spa facilities were excellent, and treatments good. Staff were very friendly and the food was great.

Positive experience: Lovely hotel, great service from all of the staff including reception, bar and pool area. The only downside with our stay was I found the bed very uncomfortable and didn’t sleep very well night before we had to camp for 4 days.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I have to share this review. I don't think I have ever complained about a 4 star hotel...... ( Based on Google this is a 4 star hotel!) We booked this hotel as we know 'Park Royal' is nice. We checked in and went to our room. With high expectations, we are so..... Disappointed.......☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️ I have never stayed in a 4 star hotel that has no fridge in the room, no robe and no hotel slippers. The bathroom / toilet was......... I've attached a few pictures. For a four star hotel, personally I think they need to upgrade the room a little bit.. We were so disappointed so I went to reception to let them know about the condition of the bathroom / toilet and enquire about robe/ fridge She said there is no fridge in the room we booked ( family room ) and about the robe she will ask someone to bring it to us. ( UPDATE: it's now 9pm and we haven't got our robe yet hence the 2 star service I requested it around 5pm ) So far we are so disappointed for a 4 four Park Royal.... We are still here ATM.... I'm not sure what to expect for breakfast.... We'll see and I will give an update again! UPDATE : we got stuck in the lift........ I'm still very shaken up.. tbh I want to move to another hotel but it's now 9pm and my son is so tired ....... Apparently the lift was broken and got 'reset the lift a few times today' Breakfast was CRAP! Beyond worst! We stayed at holiday inn the night before and their breakfast was amazing! I seriously cannot believe this is a FOUR star hotel....... Mushroom was SO salty, bacon was incredibly hard and chewy, hash brown was soggy, fruits selection was so limited.... everything is just so unwelcoming... Next morning we went out to Manchester for a day out We came back probably around 6:30 p.m...... And guess what? The room is not made there's no fresh towels............... We came back hoping that we have fresh towels so we can get ready have a shower and go to bed........ So so disappointed.......

Positive experience: From the price and exterior, I expected better service from staff. Also the lift was out of order with no sign as to when it would be fixed. The whole place, including rooms, was roasting hot which did not make for a good night of sleep. Very handy for the M6 and useful having a pool there for children although their access times are limited.

Positive experience: The hotel as a whole was lovely. The room we booked was on the second floor and due to the weather, it was really hot. You wouldn't even notice the AC was on. The windows were also dirty. However, the staff were polite and kindly moved and upgraded our room to the superior king room downstairs. Unfortunately, there was no AC but a ceiling fan. It was cooler but still quite warm. We had £32PP to spend in the restaurant and were surprised with quite tasty food - I recommend the Roasted Scottish Sea Trout. as for the breakfast, you can't go wrong with it. There were a few amenities in the hotel. The pool was quite big, but clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my Spa treatment by Rebecca. She was amazing. There was a gym which we didn't use, but looked like it was decently equipped. The location was close to Cheshire Oaks Village and a 40-45min drive to Manchester.

Positive experience: Park Royal is a good comfortable hotel to which I would return providing that it is for business purpose, but not for leisure. First impression - the reception team is friendly and helpful, the corridor & communal area is rather dated, nice big spacious parking area. Room - I was allocated a room at the back of the property on the first floor with a view of a row of bins and graveyard covered by a line of tall trees. At around 18:30 the church bells rang continuously for awhile which didn’t bother me too much. The room and washroom is very clean, however cannot say the same about the coffee cups. I found towel/cloth residue on the cups which might imply the cups were rinsed and wiped by towel in-situ rather than washed/sanitised in dishwasher. Dinner - I went to the bar for a quick dinner. I was in awe with the price of food, I opted for a hotdog with chips which cost me £12.95; was it taste good - yes, was it worth the price - definitely not! Breakfast - very disappointing, I was expecting a hearty breakfast with good range of option to say the least. Unfortunately the breakfast standard is in par with Holiday Inn Express range.

Negative experience: I did not stay at the hotel but it has a Tesla supercharger and I was fined £100 for using it when I did not see any signs that say you need to pay if you are using the ChargePoint. I have reported to Tesla as well.

Negative experience: This is a not a review based on the experience of the stay in general as I can say there were no complaints really and the stay and spa was lovely. However, the customer service afterwards after accidentally leaving my necklace in the spa wasn’t so great. I had originally planned to collect my necklace but given the location of the venue it wasn’t easy to just return so I asked the spa reception if there was a possibility of my necklace being posted back to me to which they said was no problem. They decided to place my necklace inside a normal letter envelope loosely and post so I had an empty envelope pushed through my letterbox as it had torn and slipped out in the process . How careless to post someone’s belonging in this way, and when I called to inform them that I never received my necklace , it took ages to speak to someone and was promised calls back and I had to call them repeatedly to speak to them. All I got was a “sorry nothing we can do”! The necklace was a sentimental gift with my children’s names on. Regardless of the stay being lovely, terrible customer service and was enough to put me off returning again!

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the Events Team at the Park Royal Hotel for organising our Wedding on Saturday 8th June 2024 and ensuring everything ran smoothly. A huge thank you to Beccie who started organising everything 15 months ago, to Sally & Steven for ensuring our guests were catered for and ensuring the day went to plan accordingly. Fantastic experience: I stayed here for 1- night, a nice hotel overall that is fairly modern and well appointed. My room on the 2nd floor was spacious for a standard. It looked like it had been recently refurbished aside from the dated wood on the desk and wardrobe. Very clean, and the windows open up a little bit for fresh air. Staff were nicely presented with Victoria being particularly accommodating. Great easy access to/from the motorway.

Negative experience: Booked a spa day yesterday for 2 days time for x3 people. Said there was availability online. Booked and paid for treatments Called the next day to ask what time treatments were. To be passed around to diffrent people as no one had a clue what they were doing. For them to tell me they are fully booked and can’t fit us in. We have all booked the day of work for nothing as they can’t give us our money back for 7-10 working days. Not a single apology from the venue and staff are rude Won’t be booking here, and will be making sure that friends and family don’t.

Fantastic experience: We had our wedding at the Park Royal Hotel & Spa last month and it was everything we could have ever wanted. We had been communicating with the events team from September 2022 right then way through to our ceremony and special day in April 2024. They were always keeping us in the loop, helping us with the planning and supplier coordination along with putting our minds at ease throughout the process. Special shout outs for Becky who started our wedding coordination, then taken over by Sally when Becky went off on Maternity. Johnathan ran our day and he was extremely supportive and helpful to me, the groom, the bridesmaids and all the guests. He was extremely professional and eager to please us, making sure we had everything we needed from arrival to check out. The actual wedding package is fairly priced at Park royal, and I would seriously consider if you want nice food and drinks, a lovely hotel, great scenery for your photos and spacious venue. Fantastic experience: Great hotel with good facilities. Only complaint is no hot chocolate in the rooms only tea and coffee. When I asked at reception if they had hot chocolate I was told no, you'll have to buy it from the bar.

Negative experience: EV drivers beware. Although the hotel has DC EV chargers, the hotel have now introduced car parking charges whilst you charge your vehicle.

Negative experience: What a disappointment. If you are looking for a relaxing spa break this is NOT the place. Firstly our treatments were double booked so had to wait for the next day. When trying to sort this out prior to arrival we were just told oh no thats not great sorry, but not gesture of good will for the inconvenience. When we arrived at the spa we were informed it was a children's swimming lesson 3pm till 7pm which is not great when we get told the facilities are available from check in which was 3pm. We attempted to go relax at the pool, but was so noisy and when we attempted to swim it just wasn't possible with all the children in the pool. The steam room stank of sewerage. The sauna was OK. We stayed for about 20 minutes before giving up and just going back to the room. Initially we were given a room on the ground floor which was dated and we noticed the door sign mentioned 4 legged friend. Not great when you have allergies, thankfully when I went to speak to reception they did change our room to the 2nd floor where dogs aren't allowed, these rooms were alot nicer. The food at the restaurant was a big disappointment...soggy fish and chips. Prices reflected fine dining but the food reflected microwaved frozen food. Breakfast was standard no complaints. The facial was nice. The staff were all friendly but sadly the whole spa break was a farse and I can't believe they advertise as a spa break.

I am naturally saddened to note that the majority of the points which have mentioned in your reviews were not brought to our attention at the time of your stay. I can confirm that your spa treatments were moved to the following day, as we had to unfortunately send one of our therapists home on the day of your treatments, as she was not feeling well at all. Children's swimming lessons, held in a private roped lane and children's swim times are from 3pm until 7pm and I can confirm that access to the hotels swimming pool is available immediately to all patrons of the hotel upon checking into the hotel and I note that this was duly communicated to your kind self accordingly. With regards to the room which you were allocated, we had no notice at all of any allergies at the time of your booking, however despite this I can confirm that we do use a commercial ozone generator in all guest bedrooms where dogs have previously stayed with their owners, which not only destroys but eliminates any micro organisms and pollutants in the air and I note that you were provided with an alternative bedroom as requested, which you were happy with. I am also very sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your meal in the restaurant, our dish of fish and chips is freshly prepared and cooked to order in the kitchens deep fat fryer. Positive experience: I am a very dissatisfied customer, having stayed here for three nights with my family in March 2024. Top marks for the gym, good range of equipments and good quality ones too. Parking is easy and plentiful. The sofa bed inside our room was uncomfortable and I could feel the springs in the base of the unit. The duvet on our bed was thin and we were cold during the nights. Had issues with the hot water being cold. This went on for 18 hours. Told the reception staffs and they came up with the most far fetch ridiculous explanation. Apparently the room is too far from the boiler, which delayed the hot water supply into the room. To get any warm water the tap or shower had to be run for ten minutes and hope that the water heats up. Room wasn’t cleaned after the first night. Spoke to a reception staff and they told me that the rooms are cleaned every second day? When the room was eventually cleaned, all the dirty cups, glasses and teaspoons were left inside the room on the counter. No fresh items. The bins were emptied but a bag consisting of rubbish from a meal that we had was left behind in our room. Overall the room is not cleaned very well as shown on shinny silver objects such as taps and other bathroom objects. Toilet lid is not soft close, so if it drops it makes a very loud sound. Avoid this mistake, especially at night. The pillows were uncomfortable but this is a matter of opinion and others might think differently. There was no information about the hotel facilities inside the room and none was provided on arrival. Nothing about the restaurant and dining options and no information about the local area and what is around. I was very disappointed with my stay here and I very much regretted my decision to punish my family by taking them here. Stockton Heath is ten minutes drive and it has some nice bars and restaurants as alternative dining options.

Positive experience: I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with my family. On booking i made a special request about my son’s birthday but not a single balloon or decor was arranged , not even a email that they wont be able to do any thing special. Please dont reach even 10 minutes before checkin because they wont accommodate as I also requested early checkin due to long travel and a kid with me but no use. They didn’t have a refrigerator in a king room and the only good thing was that they arranged one after i called them. Breakfast was average not too many options .

Negative experience: Very frustrated that I have had a fine from this hotel for charging my Tesla on site. This is obviously a trap to extort money from unsuspecting people just trying to go about their daily lives. It is not clear that there are charges, the day I was there it was raining hard and I literally left my car to plug in the charger and that is it. I find this an absolute joke, £60 to use a charger, I even challenged it which was rejected.

Positive experience: Dinner service a bit slow due to lack of kitchen staff, menu not much choice if you don't eat meat, and you want something different than a veggie burger, the special offer menu had no veggie choice except for the pudding!. Though the breakfast was brilliant, and plenty of it, but don't leave it to last minute as they will start clearing up around you. The facilities were great, clean and the staff polite and helpful. Negative experience: I visited the Park Royal after receiving a bad experience at another Q hotel which I received a Q hotels voucher for and used at the Park Royal. All in all, I don't think I'll ever stay at a Q hotel again. - I paid to upgrade to a Deluxe King room. On the website it says this room type includes bathrobes & upgraded toiletries. The room had neither. Reported this to reception who said "those rooms don't come with robes anymore". After mentioning it was described on the website as coming included, the bath robes and upgraded toiletries were sent to the room. I shouldn't have to inform staff what is included with certain room types. - The shower gel which 'was included' was completely empty. - The bed was big & comfortable. - I used the gym facilities which were good. I understand this to have been recently refurbished. - I used the pool, steam room & sauna. The pool area is nice. - The sofas situated around the pool were not of a 4* hotel standard. The covers were coming off and they were filthy. - The jacuzzi is super small and luke warm at best. - The windows between the leisure facility and the pool, although a great feature, were filthy and looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. - The breakfast was average. Nothing special, nothing spectacular but it did the job. Probably not worth the ££ they charge for it. - The Crème Brûlée was fantastic. If you do stay here, there is an amazing pub down the road called 'The Stretton Fox'. You won't be disappointed!

Negative experience: I encountered difficulty in modifying my reservation for a one-night stay at the hotel, originally booked for a business engagement. I had opted for an upgraded package that included an evening meal. Unfortunately, the business meeting got cancelleed, prompting me to reach out to the hotel to reschedule my reservation. Regrettably, they were unable to accommodate my request for rearrangement. Subsequently, I inquired about the possibility of a refund for the evening meal since I wouldn't be dining. Unfortunately, this request was also denied. Having been a repeat guest at this establishment for business purposes on several occasions, I had anticipated a certain level of flexibility in such situations. The lack of accommodation and the refusal of a refund have left me dissatisfied with the overall experience. Given these circumstances, I am inclined to explore alternative lodging options for my future business trips, as I doubt I will choose to book with this hotel again.

Negative experience: This was our second visit to the Park Royal hotel and unfortunately there has been a clear drop off. There were a number of things which weren't ideal during our stay, but there were a few standout things which has resulted in me leaving a review (never one to bother doing reviews). The general feel of the hotel this time was very tired and to be honest not very clean. Glasses were outside most rooms from the night before and weren't cleared away until the night time. The main issue we encountered though was dirty sheets which we had to complain about to get changed, which is clearly shocking. I was more concerned that reception didn't seem surprised when we mentioned this and also offered no form of apology. To make matters worse the cleaners that came to change the sheets were laughing and speaking in a foreign language - I have nothing against any nationality but it really felt as though they were mocking the situation. To make all of this worse we were staying in the Ambassador Suite, so clearly not what you expect. Some other points to note was there were no draught drinks available due to issues on the bar and also the pool area seemed dirty. Won't be staying again.

Negative experience: Came as part of a spa package for my birthday bought by my mum as a surprise. All I can say is how disappointing it was. Spa facilities consists of a barely steamed steam room and a mild sauna. For food we went for a Caesar salad that consisted of dried uninspiring chicken which I had to stop eating for the sake of my jaw, a few leaves of lettuce and croutons that were closer to stale bread. The only redeeming part was the treatment which was lovely.

Negative experience: I didn’t stay in the hotel but I use gym and spa facilities regularly. It’s average, there is not enough equipment in my opinion but probably they aim to be a small gym. They should sell membership to less people to maintain the healthy ratio of the equipment with members using it. The jacuzzi rarely works, sauna is too small and overcrowded. I was able to use it maybe once within few months. The locks in shower doors are almost all broken so you need to make sure you make a lot of noise so other people hear you’re inside! It’s not really comfortable and nice experience especially when children don’t really care and just walk into your shower. Car park is very dark, I don’t feel safe especially having mobility issues, it’s easy to trip in darkness. Overall the gym/pool offers bare minimum but it’s not worth money they’re charging, hence 2 stars. As a massive plus point it’s quite clean.

I am very surprised to hear that in your opinion there is not enough equipment, when we have recently invested significant sums of money to provide our members with the very latest equipment in our two separate gyms, one of which is dedicated to resistance and free weights and the other which is dedicated to cardio vascular exercise and both of which have the very latest Life Style Fitness equipment installed. With regards to the jacuzzi, due to its popularity, this has to be regularly maintained and the quality of water must also be checked frequently and adjusted for safe bathing, which I am sure you will appreciate. We have one shower door out of eight which requires a new lock, and we are awaiting the delivery from our supplier for this part, I wish to also confirm that our car park is appropriately lit. Fantastic experience: This is our second time staying at this lovely hotel whilst visiting family. I'll start with the staff, those in the spa, breakfast team, cleaning department and reception are really pleasant and professional. They also seemed to enjoy their jobs and interacted with each other very positively. The HR / Recruitment Department certainly know what they are doing. The breakfast is really good and well thought out - the allergy menus on display are great and much appreciated. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable beds and our request to have them next door to each other was actioned. The spa staff are very professional and asked us to wait (just a short while) whilst they got a safe reading on the pool chemicals - which is reassuring that they are monitoring and cleaning the pool. The Christmas decorations / trees are up - which was a nice surprise (we've had to move Christmas forward because of my child's surgery) . They are very well done / fun and enjoyed by all of the family. A function was underway when we arrived and unlike some other hotels did not impact the rest of the hotel or our stay - so obviously well managed / nice group of attendees. Lastly, the other hotel guests seemed really relaxed - happy to make conversation and again a nice group of people. We enjoyed our weekend stay - thank you! Obviously we will be a regular customer.

Positive experience: The room are very spacious, however we found it to be cold. The health centre is included but it's pretty small and was very busy! Apparently only certain rooms include robes which we were not made aware of and staff were reluctant to provide us with a robe as we had not booked a superior room or a spa treatment. We had food at the restaurant and the staff there were very friendly and helpful. Food was tasty other than the desert which tasted slightly undercooked. Again it quite cool in the restaurant due to the freezing temperatures outside! Overall an okay hotel but not the best spa hotel I've been to.

Fantastic experience: I stayed for a couple of nights for a birthday treat; the room was comfortable and had everything that I needed. Its dog friendly providing you book the right room type (King Superior), and they're allowed in the lounge area too. I didnt get to use the other amenities like the spa, pool etc this time around - but Im happy enough with my first experience to book again to explore further! There's a few pubs nearby, and its a 40 odd minute walk in to Stockton Heath; I found that there's also plenty of places to go for a nice walk too.

Fantastic experience: Very nice, good value hotel. We had a twin room which was a good size and had the added bonus of a little balcony. Large bar area with a full range of drinks. Excellent buffet style breakfast with a good choice of items. Staff were very polite and helpful. Nice leisure club but the pool was a bit cold and the jacuzzi was out of order. However its a very pleasant place to sit and relax by the pool. The entrance to the hotel it just off a short lane. However the lane is lacking a decent, visible sign. It's easy to drive past!

Positive experience: Was attending an overflowing exhibition plus seminar day. Was a bit squashed as over crowded. Lunch was good. Location wise l guess central for wider area plus plenty of parking but a bit out for me from Manchester. Getting out of the car park took too long (maybe 10 mins) as cars can't join the rush hour main road which has a very lengthy traffic light!

Fantastic experience: Recently stayed at The Park Royal for five nights, and though it's starting to look a bit tired in places, it is still a great hotel. Front of house staff do their best to help, cleaning (every other day except by request) is decent (not the most thorough, but good enough) and bar/restaurant staff are a bit hit and miss (breakfast staff in particular look like they'd rather be elsewhere). The room was good, with the normal amenities (tea/coffee, iron, TV) including soap and shampoo. No fridge, though, but there looks like there once was one. The spa is brilliant, with pool, gym, sauna, steam room... free for hotel guests. They'll even lend you a pound coin for the lockers if you don't have one. Towels are also provided free. The selection of drinks in the bar isn't great, and it's quite expensive, but they do have a captive audience, of course. There are screens for sports, and a fruit machine that is being played in more ways than one. Bar food is decent enough. The restaurant has a similar, though slightly expanded, menu. Again, the food is decent. Breakfast is good, with options for all palates (though very few continental options: bread, cheeses and cold-cuts sadly lacking). As I said, breakfast service isn't great, however. It's an event/wedding venue, and I'm sure it would be great for that, too, or a romantic getaway (there are dinner packages available). There is plenty of carparking (free for overnight guests), as well as a heli-pad should you need to fly in, and Tesla superchargers...

Fantastic experience: We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary with a meal in the hotel restaurant. We didn't stay at the hotel. The meal was perfect, and our waiter Ollie was great. Very helpful and very personable. We had our wedding at this hotel 2yrs ago and thought it would be great to celebrate here.

Negative experience: I have used the hotel for numerous business events, but last week i was appalled at the fact that i received a parking fine for staying over 2 hours for using the hotels facilities for a business meeting. Very disappointed that when i phoned the hotel for assistance and to understand why, the reply was well you should of read the sign in reception and registered your car details. I didn't see any of the signs and none of the staff had commented on this newly introduced process. In all i would not recommend the hotel given their inability to notify customer of the charges and how they treat customers who dare to ask for an understanding or support

Fantastic experience: We have had a lovely stay! All the staff are so friendly and helpful. We slept so well in our comfortable beds. Our breakfast was huge! Fantastic experience: Only there for the day, didn't stop over. Staff were lovely, the place was immaculate although the older bit looked like an ex hospital. The business rooms were very good.

Negative experience: Stopped at this Hotel with my husband to charge our car as there is a bank of Tesla super chargers at the rear of the car park. It was early evening, so we thought we would have dinner also. Spent the best part of £100 at the hotel and then received a parking charge of £60. Nowhere did it say anywhere we needed to enter or VRN. Can't get hold of anyone at the hotel either to contest it. Shocking!!

Fantastic experience: We as a family met for lunch, we have chosen to meet here as it is central to everyone. We meet in the bar area and order from the bar menu. We were there during the Cream field's festival, and they were extremely busy. Despite this, the bar manager, bar staff, and receptionist provided an excellent service. The food was lovely as always. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue. We have already booked our next family get-together.

Fantastic experience: From the very first encounter at the check-in counter to the restaurant staff, room service, spa and leisure centre staff, everyone was soo soo super helpful. Always had a smile and did all they could do to make our stay better. Hotel is dog friendly and good food and clean and tidy rooms. When we went to breakfast with our dog, we were told dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant, but the staff arranged a table in the bar area for us and set it up for us to have our breakfast there. They checked on my elderly mother when we’re not around and made her feel safe and comfortable. We had a great time during our stay. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Had an overnight spa break. Loved it from start to finish. Fabulous facial and beautiful evening meal. The room was clean and comfortable, great nights sleep. Lots of choice for breakfast, and all fresh.

Positive experience: Large hotel, conference and spa facilities in a great location just 5 minutes from M56. Hotel clean, food to a good standard, but the service was painfully slow. Used conference facilities which were of a good standard.

Fantastic experience: I came here with a friend for a Spa day and a massage - the process from door to massage was very well explained and the staff were super friendly! Everything was very well thought out and organised and the massage was great! The spa facilities were quiet and everyone was respectful in using them- we enjoyed the pool (swimming laps) and the hot tub the most- Would definitely visit again!
