Our comment from FitFit UK about St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre:
St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre, located in Warwick, United Kingdom, offers a vibrant environment for fitness enthusiasts and families alike. Visitors appreciate the friendly, professional staff, and a wide range of classes available, including popular options like Body Pump and LBT. Many users have found it to be a great value for money, with well-equipped facilities and an enjoyable swimming experience.
However, some areas need improvement. Users have noted concerns regarding parking fees, which adds to the monthly membership cost, and the cleanliness of the changing rooms and pool can be inconsistent. Another common criticism is the availability of equipment; some members have experienced broken machines and overcrowding, especially during peak hours.
Despite these issues, many find the centre a great place for activities for the whole family, with excellent customer service reported from staff like Liam and trainers offering quality classes. Overall, if you are looking for an affordable gym with a variety of activities, St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre could be the right choice.

St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Great space to get fit! Warm, professional and friendly staff. Please add more high-energy, morning/daytime classes to your offering. Body Pump (Friday morn) and LBT (Tues morn) are amazing…more of the same please! :) General comments from friends…paying for parking makes the total cost of gym membership too much per month.
Positive experience: This gym is good value for money with excellent teachers in the various classes - the only downside is the parking!
Positive experience: I swim at St Nicholas Park regularly and it is generally a very enjoyable experience. However the cleanliness of the pool and changing rooms varies and could be improved.
Negative experience: Terrible service and gym. I had attended the gym and had recieved a free month, but they had not given it to me as i was unable to pay on time due to my payday being late. They had taken £70 off me for one singular month and asked me to pay more when my monthly membership was £27 a month, i had payed triple of what i was meant to already and when it was bought up the staff were unable to provide me with where my money had gone and furthermore when contacting the headquarters they had no reply to me. Absolutely useless. My friend had also attended the gym with me and has just cancelled her membership but and within one month you are required to pay £60 for the month after as they do it in month advanced i was told, so when my friend cancelled they wouldnt let her into the gym even though on the app it said her membership expires next month as she had paid. She was unable to use the gym that she was entitled to and had paid for. This is know as false advertisement and misleading information as it is illegal, they had advertised on the website “The final month in advance payment is to cover your usage when we come to close your account with us” but ur not allowed to use the final month as they wont permit you in the gym so ur practically paying for nothing. DO NOT COME HERE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND CREATE EXCUSES IN ORDER TO KEEP THE MONEY. They have multiple gyms as they scam people i believe.
Fantastic experience: The 5star goes firstly for Lorraine, Legs bums tums, Pilates and Yoga trainer. I’ve been trained and qualified as a tennis professional in European Junior League, and Lorraine would mach that standard. She offers quality classes even the gym is short of equipment at the moment (mostly leg bands). Virtual aqua classes are very pleasant. Liam from reception is always very helpful. I indeed complain a lot about the cleaning, but overall, this is a great gym. I think it could easily take the lead if high cleaning standards are provided.
Positive experience: Great gym, everything you need when it's quiet, wouldn't go between 4-6 if you don't want to be surrounded by teens hogging the machine, could barely move, appears most are there to say they went
Negative experience: 6/3/24 Still being harassed.... It's Stressing Me Mentally. Spoke with the New Manager want this to STOP but still being harassed by the black instructor in the Gymn... He first pulled me up in January about not bringing a bag into the Gymn....then noticed Everyone else was taking bags in! Then in Feb he Mentioned, need to wear trainers...Explained had and accident and need supportive foot wear when exercising, then they pulled me up over my shorts being too short! and not really shorts !! 2 months ago, The manager came out to to the pool and said that I shouldn't take a couple of metres from edge when starting my swim!! Explained Everyone has different swimming styles and hasn't he got better things to do than to Continually Criticise & Harass clients over Non issues... I've been a member for over 2 years and am now being Harassed by Individuals who have nothing better to do but to cause individuals trouble and stop people from Enjoying Exercise. FOR ME THIS IS NO LONGER AN ENJOYABLE, WELCOMING OR FRIENDLY PLACE TO EXERCISE. Regret Joining. Note -see EMZII's review 10 months ago.
Fantastic experience: I went for a kids birthday party. I was very impressed with the facilities though
Negative experience: I’ve just cancelled my gym membership, I’ve been a member for over 5-years, however the amount of broken equipment is now getting silly. There’s limited amount of kit that works so when members are using the kit for an hour or more a time, it’s getting pointless me turning up to workout. There needs to be restrictions in such a small gym to 30-minutes of use per piece of kit, especially in peak times. I’ve seen so many people getting annoyed with each other over not being able to use equipment, it’s only a matter of time before it escalates. We’re all paying full price for memberships for equipment that doesn’t work, then pay for parking to turnaround and go home because it’s got that bad, it’s a joke.
Fantastic experience: Lovely pool very clean and comfortable helpful staff
Positive experience: I am hesitating to rejoin because they have not kept up with fixing broken equipment. I do like the gym and classes.
Fantastic experience: Very well equipped him and a great children’s party with bouncy castles and Jammie Dodgers
Negative experience: Water very, very cold in the pool and poor facilities, lacking small things but important, like no hanger in the showers. I don't recommend it.
Fantastic experience: Pleasantly surprised about the cleanliness and facilities (I remembered the centre from school swim lessons!!). We’ve now joined up as a family and enjoy the gym and swimming. The classes are good (tho would like a few more body pump classes through the week) and paying for the parking is a bit of a pain but if you are looking for a reasonably priced good quality gym, give it a try.
Fantastic experience: Great place for activities for all.
Negative experience: Their poor lane management in the pool is atrocious. It is dangerous and no matter how many times I complain, nothing ever happens. They seem to not care that their customers are getting injured. It definitely is not a safe place to swim
Fantastic experience: Great teacher
Fantastic experience: Great pool and gym. Anna and Mikey provided top customer service
Fantastic experience: Such fabulous leisure centres, great facilities with polite friendly and knowledgeable staff. Prefect to revitalize, keep healthy, fit and it's great for your wellbeing.. Definitely worth a visit, fun for all your family, friends and colleagues..
Fantastic experience: Great staff here really happy to help (unlike the other everyone active close by) Gym is clean and someone on hand to help answer questions Love it here
Negative experience: Bunch of hairs caught my hand when I was swimming. Really gross . Swimming caps should be mandatory
Negative experience: Went cashless...enough said.
Positive experience: Ok place to go and swim. Would be nice to have a bit for younger kids rather than one big pool. No free parking apart from x3 disabled spaces, which I was very disappointed about. Hadn't been to Warwick baths before, will definitely be sticking with Newbold.
Negative experience: Utterly ridiculous, my son and his friends have tried to go swimming here today .They were turned away because its card payment only !!NOT EVERY ONE HAS A DEBIT CARD !!!especially at 14 .Their cash was clearly not good enough .There us enough angst about teenagers and you have prevented teenagers taking part in leisure activities. DISGUSTING
Fantastic experience: Excellent local leisure centre with a wide range of facilities and reasonable prices. Easy booking process using the Everyone Active app too.
Fantastic experience: Excellent park, lovely leisure centre.
Negative experience: Unfriendly staff and pool too busy.
Fantastic experience: The quality and level of customer service at Warwick’s everyone active branch, especially compared to Stratford Upon Avon’s branch, is great. I couldn’t be happier with how I was treated by Nick and Rory. A completely different experience at Stratford upon Avon where the staff are rude and cliquey, and the stroppy teenager in memberships makes me hope I never have to approach her again!
Fantastic experience: Nice place, everyone can spend good time
Positive experience: Toilets and changing rooms are sometimes not that clean hence 4 stars rather than 5. The rest of the facilities are brilliant and the staff are helpful and encouraging.
Positive experience: Solid gym, bit cramped compared to Stratford one, but worth the money
Fantastic experience: Pride of Warwick. Great to place to go for a walk and relax . There is a nice coffee shop also sells tasty ice creams . The park is very clean and well maintained . It also has a mini golf and Leisure centre .
Fantastic experience: Such lovely staff. This gym is a treasure.
Fantastic experience: Good, new sports centre. Nice facilities, very clean and shiny.
Positive experience: It's a smart ,clean place very pleasant staff .
Fantastic experience: Clean, friendly and very welcoming
Fantastic experience: It's a great place to go too, beautiful park and the castle is 5-minute walk away...... Warwick is fantastic place to go too great restaurants as well
Negative experience: Used to be my fav place to workout, but the comments from Rory got a bit too much, no simply means no! I've since quit and joined fitnessworx. Other than that, great gym and friendly staff who are mostly behaving appropriately, girls: you don't have to stand for harrasment snm
Positive experience: Staff are all lovely. Sometimes toilets are a little neglected. But love this place.
Positive experience: Good place to play badminton.only problem is parking.there is no free parking available..
Positive experience: Very nice location.
Positive experience: Very nice park with many activities!
Fantastic experience: Lovely centre and very friendly staff, pleasure to visit!! Coming once or twice a week helped massively with my reoccurring back/neck problems.
Positive experience: Too many people allowed to swim at once then they don’t even open up the whole changing rooms or showers
Positive experience: Clean & well organised but too many in lanes. Be better to stick to 5 not 10 in my opinion.
Positive experience: Easy to book on line. Helpful staff. Nice pool.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Good facilities. COVID safe. definitely recommend it. Easy online booking system too! Just for sharing, if you book a badminton court you need to bring your own racquet and shuttlecock, due to COVID they can't rent it out. For swimming, it's one way system and swim in your lane but it's not crowded. You can keep your stuff on the side as locker is not available. Convenient to get there beach ready. Easy to have a rinse and change after your swimming. Swimming cap is not compulsory.
Positive experience: Nice n big 250.00 annuall cost or 25.00 mth closes a bit earluer at wk ends tho
Fantastic experience: A beautiful park for all the family including the dogs! So many activities to take part in or just find a quiet corner to sit and enjoy...
Positive experience: i am so happy . Unlike leamington spa pool, where they force folk to give all of your details, which i refuse to do for a public swim . Warwick pool do not act like little gestapo . My family and i can continue with our private swim . Thank you
Fantastic experience: Very good place alot of facilities
Positive experience: Great facility and helpful staff. Good range of equipment. Not 5 stars as have to use pay and display car park which adds cost.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful leisure centre ! The gym has been newly refurbished & has all the latest equipment. The personal trainers, swimming teacher, yoga teacher, reception staff & all of the other staff at the centre are knowledgeable & helpful. There is a wide range of activities throughout the day & something for everyone. I thoroughly recommend this leisure centre & the joining fee is reasonable & great value too !!
Fantastic experience: Had a great time here. Could spend all day (and probably quite a bit of cash!) here with my 4 year old. Loads to be entertained by and nice to be having fun outdoors. Will be back when it's warm again.
Fantastic experience: Nice size gym, small enough so as not to be overwhelming and yet large enough to have a good selection of equipment. Nice friendly staff who were really helpful but not intrusive
Positive experience: Sports hall too hot in summer. Expensive. Without a member card (for gym) you have to que to get n sports hall
Positive experience: busy
Positive experience: We went there with our granddaughter to see how she was getting on with her swimming lessons. Very impressed with the whole leisure centre and facilities for swimming and gym. Pity we live 40 miles away as I would certainly join for pool membership
Fantastic experience: Good for badminton
Positive experience: Giving this gym 3 star as parking is not free for gym members, considering how much I pay for the whole family each year I would expect free parking. Gym itself is great, decent swimming pool and classes. Showers are not great, in this day and age I would expect cubicles for men rather than communial shower area, hope this changes soon! Overall well kitted gym and clean.
Fantastic experience: Refurb is great!
Fantastic experience: Friendly place
Fantastic experience: The refurbishment makes this place great again. Everything is done to a high standard and the facilities are excellent
Fantastic experience: Lots of things to do. A really well spent morning. If you have young children, it is well worth bringing clothing for a paddle in the pool and also take money for the little fair. Really reasonably priced and was lots of fun.
Positive experience: Lots of activities you can organise or attend. There's a gym, swimming pool, fields and indoor sporthall where you can do any sport you want (including wall climbing!). All you need to do is book in advance. You can only book one week ahead, and you have to be quick because the prime time slots are taken quickly. During the summer it can be really warm in the omni sporthall when exercising.
Negative experience: This review applies to all of the leisure centers that Warwick council has washed its hands off!! Hello Council - you are supposed to look after the well-being of your citizens, not selling out to capilatlist corporates or shying away from your core responsibility!! When the council was running the show, there was an option of off-peak hours (including Saturday, Sunday) (£19), family/NHS/local employer etc, discounts (£25). Everything gone. Straight price of £40 and £54 one-time processing fee!! Wow!! Talk of ripping people off!! Perhaps, this is why they are not even putting out the membership leaflets anymore! That would put so many people off!! Where are the councilors? I don't see anyone moaning about anything!! Perhaps, busy planning their seats in the brand new multi-million pound building being planned (with some resistance from local opposition party-labour in this case). Local newspapers are equally silent on this inflation busting rises. On top of that, to use the leisure center, one has to pay the parking charges at the adjoining St. Nicholas park (not at Newbold), so if one wants to use the park three-to-five times in a week for an hour, the total cost would come to somewhere £55-£65!!! The private gyms are now either competitive or better value!! In summary, the council is shying away big time from its social responsibility of promoting healthy lifestyles. It already feels that access to gyms and leisure centers is only for rich- no more for middle or lower class people. Ahh, and I haven't even started on the amenities!! The entry points don't work and this all, even when the centers are not even fully open. God knows how many times, and at what rates, they future prices will keep rising. Is there anyone out there to stop this non-sense?? helloo!!! Also, don't confuse the leisure center with the St. Nicholas park. They are different. People who have too much money either get confused or suggest raising prices to squeeze more people out to ease the over-crowding!! And those who have seen the old vs new will realize that everything now is about minting more money - total corporate style rather than a more human touch!!
Fantastic experience: Great park lots to do
Positive experience: Good facilities but too busy, should up the price and push people out
Fantastic experience: Grate day out
Fantastic experience: The gym is never too busy and has a great selection of machines as well as free weight equipment, the pool is similarly available, I've never had an issue finding a lane. The changing facilities are fantastic and it is an all round excellent gym to use
Positive experience: Lovely clean place helpful staff
Fantastic experience: Beautiful park. Bring your family and friends and you will have a good time. Ice cream, hot food, boats to hire, space to play or relax, children’s fun fair park, mini golf, leisure centre....
Fantastic experience: Nice leisure centre, but old one
Fantastic experience: Preciosos campos para practicar diversos deportes. También piscina cubierta y clases de natación.
Fantastic experience: Just been refurbished, excellent gym, the staff are terrific
Negative experience: No aircon, limited seating in the spectators area and quite often the staff are up there taking up spaces. The hot drinks machine is almost always out of order. I suggest they go with another company!!
Fantastic experience: New gym is very spacious and is a much better environment to work out in than the old windowless gym. Upstairs studio also very good overlooking the park. Can't comment on the pool as I don't use it
Fantastic experience: Lovely referb. I don't normally like to use a gym as I find them unfriendly. At St Nick's I felt comfortable. The staff were friendly and explained how things worked. I joined two weeks ago and have used the gym 3 times and been to two classes. I feel inspired by this place.
Positive experience: A lot of work done but that much inprovement for me. Classes over booked
Positive experience: No aircon. Very hot in spectators area .coffee machine not working again .
Positive experience: Lighting for the badminton courts isn't the best
Positive experience: Great if small pool. Other facilities will improve after the refurbishment, March 2018
Positive experience: Nicely renovated and extended public swimming pool, and quite reasonably priced. I go here weekly and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Lovely clean, spacious facilities (mixed sex changing rooms but individual cubicles for privacy) and available for public swim more frequently than some of the other local pools. Would definitely recommend.
Positive experience: Prices have increased sigificantly since the council contracted out their leisure centres - no longer comparing so favourably with competitors. Music in the gym is often too loud, so much so that you often have to turn up your own headphones to block it out. The refurb has given the place a much-needed lift & the gym is much better equipped, though it gets much more crowded than it used to. While I do like the increased natural light through the windows of the new gym, it often feels like you're a goldfish with all the people gawping in from outside or the foyer - I think 1 way glass might have been a better option!
Fantastic experience: Great equipment and friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: lovely time with my badminton crew :)
Fantastic experience: As with most places, it is the staff that make it an excellent local gym. Very professional and friendly, even though 'Everyone Active' is a large company, these guys make the customer interaction a pleasure. The climbing wall is just the same....fantastic group of guys well worth meeting. A small wall but a very active and motivated group....Warwick Climbing Club.
Positive experience: A bit basic and run down and understaffed by okay
Positive experience: Enrolled 7 year old in beginners swimming lessons. The centre is still being worked on but the changing facilities for the pool are ready and very good. Lessons look fun and the children all seem to enjoy them. Good value as lessons include access to pool during free swim sessions. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Positive experience: Currently undergoing substantial refurbishment...the sports hall and pool are now open
Positive experience: New refurb, looking pretty good. £25 a month for unlimited swimming, better than £4.70 a time anyway!
Fantastic experience: Nice
Fantastic experience: Everything here is awesome, well maintained, newly renovated gym has really good equipments now, new temperature controlled swimming pool, friendly staff, spacious and very well maintained too
Positive experience: Good outdoor astro pitches. Though they book up fast
Fantastic experience: Best damn park in the world!
Positive experience: Convenient location although walking through the park at night is not great, centre has lots of classes and swimming and a small gym. Really good local sports centre
Positive experience: Cheap and cheerful. Gym excellent value. Currently undergoing a major update, so will see what that brings
Positive experience: Good local sports centre. Decent pool.
Positive experience: A large variety of things to do and set in a nice park
Fantastic experience: Great venue for badminton. Ample parking but watch out for days when events are on in the park.
