Everlast Gyms - Glasgow Fort: Opinions
Negative experience: Honestly hate how they say they finish at 18:00pm but actually finishes at 17:30pm what a joke. They should update their finishing times because this is not professional. I usually come around this time because there are less people.
Fantastic experience: The place is nice, the equipment is nice and clean, and the service is excellent. I have subscribed before, and even my family subscribed. I would like to come back again and subscribe with my friend.
Negative experience: fed up of the closing times and passive aggressive staff. Should update their closing times to half an hour before their already early times since staff start cleaning around you anyway. In the middle of a split squat set and staff member starts hoovering right at my feet 20mins to closing even though he could have started at the edge of the area instead of in the middle where i am. As long as im out the building before the closing time i shouldn’t have the same staff member shouting across the gym at me to head out when ive still got 10mins. Even an hour before closing and they are moping under the leg press when in the middle of a set or whipping the hoover wires around, It’s a hazard. All that cleaning and it’s still filthy. Trying to cancel my membership but thats another joke as well.
Positive experience: Gym equipment is spot on. Price is awright. Only down side is the hygine. Smell in the changing room is potential and the showers are falling apart
Negative experience: WiFi is shocking
Fantastic experience: Staff are great and really helpful. It is busy and well used from about 5:30pm onwards. Equipment is clean, modern and there's plenty of them.
Negative experience: Was a member of both the one on the Fort shopping centre as well.. when that closed I tried to use this one, but it's just not got a nice feel about it, only so many treadmills only 2 bikes 4 rowing machines it's more towards the body builders n full of men n lasdies who think it's a fashion show.
Positive experience: Any chance of a cold shower for coming out the saunas
Fantastic experience: Amazing condition, music too loud tho, especially if someone doesn't like a specific song could be very irritating.. Thanks
Fantastic experience: Excellent but very busy too busy sometimes
Fantastic experience: Дуже подобається спортзал . Новий , гарний , багато тренажерів.
Fantastic experience: The dumbells are so nice extremely clean and the workers are nice too everlast in Glasgow fort is the gym you should go to
Fantastic experience: Really good gym space Upgraded all the equipment recently and I’d recommend it to anyone local starting out. Can be busy at times but that’s hardly a down side
Negative experience: Very bad time
Negative experience: They make it impossible to cancel membership. The App wont reset my password and you can't cancel through website. Shocking service.
Negative experience: They make it impossible to cancel membership. The App wont reset my password and you can't cancel through website. Shocking service.
Positive experience: Laid out well enough, lots of benches in the free weights area. Disappointed in the lack of cleaning stations that you would find in a PureGym. The app is atrocious as well, again you’ll miss your PureGym membership with this. There are no specialist bars (save for one trap bar) so variation is limited and no safety squatting. Also a nightmare to find bar clamps/clips. Would rank it lower but it is genuinely a perfectly “okay” gym. It’s usually mobbed as well which really impacts the score. The last thing I’ll say is the opening times around the weekend are rubbish, late in the morning and early even on a Friday night. If you’re planning on driving then you may as well go to a PureGym as they are open 24 hours.
Fantastic experience: Great wee gym
Positive experience: More EZ bars needed, lack of mid weight dumbells. Not enough stationary bikes either...2 for the whole gym. Very dark inside, A/C and vents need beefed up a bit.
Positive experience: Great gym and great equipment. Issues are opening and closing times. Possibly restricted by location. Due to residential area close by. Ideally if it could open at 5am that would be 5 star. However their opening times on a bank holiday are horrible. Only gym I have ever trained at that shortens their opening and closing time on a bank holiday. Utterly bizarre
Positive experience: Well equipped and clean but no paper or sanitiser to wipe down the machines. Staff are lovely
Fantastic experience: Joined after the refit as heard about the equipment all being Nautilus. The equipment has certainly lived up to the hype, although if you are looking for a quiet gym this isn’t the one for you. It can get very busy especially at peak times. There are lots of windows throughout the day when it’s quieter. I’d recommend trying it - as it’s worth it for the equipment alone!
Negative experience: Good gym and love the refurbishment. My big and only complaint is how busy it gets.Working far from home can't do before work so no option for me other than peak times.
Negative experience: Opening hours are not acceptable!!! Why are you closing over the weekend 9pm and 6 pm?
Negative experience: gym ok. Rules & customer service - drama and total ignorance. Incorrect charging for membership... never more
Fantastic experience: Equipment is great. Staff very friendly. Bit busy but its expected with how good the gym is.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant
Positive experience: Good gym
Fantastic experience: Recently reopened after a refit. Laid out well, plenty of machines and free weights. The staff are friendly and helpful. Just waiting on the EK gym to get updated. If you are a member , I would use the Fort gym, much better.
Fantastic experience: love the new gym and the staff are so helpful cannot get over it the turn around it has had over the past few weeks, seeing all these posts about the dark walls i don’t understand you don’t go to look at the decor you go to train?? get over your self and see the bigger picture the facilities that are right in front of you. i’m personally really happy with the new gym as should you all be! ps i bet it’s all the £5 a month who are giving the big talk
Fantastic experience: Amazing equipment great staff really can’t see what people are worried about a dark wall your there to workout and it’s £20 a month it’s not that deep literally if you don’t like it just go somewhere else some of these comments are funny especially jays and the most recent like lads grow up I enjoy it there and hate how people complain like they own the place I mean if you go to a restaurant you don’t like it then go spend money elsewhere same story here Jesus
Positive experience: Good gym with high quality equipment and friendly staff for a decent price. Main draw back is it is very busy, they should add one or more of the most popular equipement options e.g. seated leg curl and maybe another bench, they have the space for it and these are the ones you'll most likely be waiting for. Also it seems like some of the cable machines have not been assembled properly, some get a bit sticky at points.
Negative experience: Po remoncie siłownia to prawdziwa tragedia ci prawda sprzet jest nowy ale tragicznej jakosci. Wystrój również poraża ciemno i ponuro, czas szykac innej siłowni.
Fantastic experience: Check out the new refurbished ️♀️ Gym Glasgow.
Positive experience: Not a fan of the upgrade. Theres no stretching area, the gym has no flow to it and the environment is so dark and chaotic. One of the employee said that they wanted a nightclub vibe... I'm going to the gym, not a nightclub. The only positive is the new equipment. Also, would it kill to put a clock in the sauna??
Positive experience: Can anyone tell me why gym at Glasgow Fort closed at moment and when it reopens ?
Fantastic experience: Very well organized gym, good air con, and nice staff. Louise Camerons fitness classes are very good and makes everyone feel at ease.️♂️♂️.
Negative experience: Alot of the machines are broken, and its hard to breathe in the gym airs dry/heavy.
Positive experience: Its a decent gym There is too much equipment out of order for too long the lag press has been out of order for months now
Positive experience: Nice gym, a little busy after 5pm, but still worth the money.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with a fantastic layout of equipment.
Positive experience: The gym has a lot of equipment but there are some downsides. Not enough equipment needed for key exercises. For example, there is only one fly machine, which is practically busy all the time. There are also too few handles for exercises on the gates, because even if there is a free lift, you cannot find a free handle for it. And more weights of 5 and 2.5 kilograms would be useful to dose the load more precisely. And besides, cool.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant staff great people
Positive experience: Great modern gym with sauna. Way too many annoying kids 13, 16yo occupying equipment.
Negative experience: The gym is good but be aware of some terrible policies held by them. 3 months notice to cancel AND they don’t let people in the gym 45 minutes before closing?? So if they shut at 6 and you show up at 5.20 you won’t be allowed into the facility that you’re paying for. Even if you want to go a quick 20 minute run, not allowed, despite the gym having loads of people in it. Some nice staff but also some terrible staff too.
Fantastic experience: Only place in Glasgow you can get a jacuzzi and decent swim. As all of the council pools still operate under covid policies
Positive experience: Very good price for a gym but machines are out of order most of the time
Negative experience: The gym was closed for a month for an alleged upgrade. I have my reservations about calling this an upgrade. They've essentially painted everything black, dark grey and added some random white neon lights. New equipment, yes, but the old equipment was just fine. The old layout had a flow about it. There were designated areas that made sense, and there was a decent mix of colour and textures around the floor and walls that the gym looked very positive and motivating. The current all black incarnation is extremely lifeless. Equipment number seems to be reduced and feels simply lined up without any thought. I'm also not convinced that the fundamental colour contrast required in public spaces to meet regulations that protect the visually challenged has been met in the new decor. Perhaps worth sending a nudge to city councils building control to pay the gym a visit. I expressed my thoughts about the new decor and layout to a member of staff who was pretty rapid to tell me "Yeah, its a gym and if you dont like it, there are others out there you should look at" Thanks, I will actually.
Fantastic experience: After coming from another gym to here you really appreciate the difference. Great sense of community, everyone is happy to help you, everyone is just there for a good workout
Negative experience: Lots of broken equipment which can take months to get fixed. They’ve recently started having classes in the main gym area even though the room for classes is available, leaving limited area for other users.
Fantastic experience: Decent gym with a lot of machines. Can be quite busy at peak times as to be expected. Has a sauna in the gents along with lockers and showers
Fantastic experience: Good gym, well equipped would be better if it had a pool!
Positive experience: I’ve been going to this gym for maybe 6 months now. At peak times it can be hard to find equipment you need. Overall, I think it is a good gym with a good sauna. Staff were very helpful and efficient when I wanted to change my membership.
Positive experience: Lots of machines are constantly broken
Negative experience: Absolutely disappointed with this gym, half of the machines are broken for months. I’ve complained few times to the management but nothing has been done. Can’t complete my workout every time I’m in. Do not recommend at all!!!
Fantastic experience: Clean with plenty of equipment. Tremendous friendly staff who are super helpful
Positive experience: Been here for a couple of months now. I personally think its a very good gym, some of the machines tend to break and the leg extension has been out of order since I joined which is pretty poor but overall I dont regret joining. The staff are always friendly and most importantly its clean with a vast selection of equipment.
Negative experience: Nah
Positive experience: Decent gym
Negative experience: No signal and constant issues with WiFi. So when I waiting for urgent emails I have to came back to home and back latter. Too loud music. Apart from that staff doing hard job to keep this place clean and gym is spacious.
Positive experience: Love this gym. It simple easy and most relaxing. Great workout all you need to tone shape up. Or for just time and space to yourself. Go check it out ⭐
Fantastic experience: Swert
Fantastic experience: Always banging. Definitely the best gym in the east end, if not, the whole of Glasgow! Brilliant!
Fantastic experience: Excellent service and always there to help
Positive experience: Only 3 stars because of the working hours. They close too early. Also when its open its very crowded.
Positive experience: I've been a member since the gym opened. The leg extension has been out of order for months and some cable machines are not much better. Please get them fixed. Its not good enough. Staff are always pleasant and friendly and I would like to say that the cleaning lady(Kim) works very hard and deserves some credit. I work in the fitness industry and I see everything. She really does her best and its my opinion that the place would be very dirty without her.
Positive experience: Note there is no water dispenser so bring plenty of water! The class timetable changes a few times a year either a good or batching depending if what you like
Negative experience: Joined the Glasgow Fort gym as it was local, one month and the amount of machines broken is unreal. Tried emailing the manager but they block emails getting through. Will be cancelling my direct debit before the next payment is due.
Positive experience: Very big facility with alot a varied equipment.. needs some maintenence done though and murder to get on the cables. If u dont go at peak time though, u have a huge selection.
Positive experience: Great little gym.. basic but everything you need for a decent workout. Friendly staff, clean environment. And for the money you can’t fault it tbh.
Positive experience: Great gym, well equipped although some of the accessorie equipment is a little old and worn. Overall the place is clean and the staff are all friendly. I go around 6am and the gym is not too busy. It has a good range of membership prices, I joined when the gym opened so my tariff is only £5 per month. I would give five stars if the equipment that breaks gets fixed a little quicker. Ps this doesn't happen too often.
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Fantastic experience: We go jim
Fantastic experience: Great gym for the local area for some reason is ten pounds cheaper than the one up the fort only thing is it lacks a swimming pool and hot tub thingy but still has a sauna worth the price if your not looking to swim
Fantastic experience: Amazing
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Negative experience: Not a great experience if you go in the evening. Grumpy female staff member behind desk obviously dislikes her job... can’t crack a smile, never says hello or bye, stomps around the gym throwing equipment around as she tidies with a face on rushing around. So much for customer service, more like making customers feel uncomfortable for being there!! The Music has also started getting turned off at 21:30 so if you want to train for last hour, 30 mins of that will be in silence.. oh and noticed that same staff member will come and tell you to leave at 21:50, they need to update their closing time from 22:00 to 21:50 if that’s the case so you don’t plan your workout upto 22:00.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and equipments
Fantastic experience: N/A
Fantastic experience: After 2years of membership have to say that's perfect place to begin change your body and mind transformation . Friendly and helpful personnel . Clean, modern and faultless equipment . fast broadband available .price to quality 10/10 .
Positive experience: Decent gym for £20 a month not really worth more things that let it down are the wi fi never works and you cant get a mobile phone signal also they dont have any cold shower which is a shame as shower only have 1 water temp setting which is always hot. Good choice of free dumbbells other machines are average a little better then pure gym staff are very nice Update - wifi is working again so no issues there. But on weekdays between 5-8.30 is it very busy ive never seen a busier gym tbh. Very hard to do a planned workout as all the benches be busy and cables and most machines people hog it out spending most time resting. Il recommend using the gym in the morning or anytime before 4pm or after 8.30
Fantastic experience: Lots of equipment
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and helpful
Negative experience: Still good value for money but staff and management do not encourage or enforce patrons to wear masks when entering, leaving or when moving between equipment. This is still Scottish Government legislation and required in indoor environments.
Positive experience: Great gym, easy to get equipment due to the size if it's not out of order, early morning is a good time as it's quieter
Positive experience: Love this gym always lots of machines to use
Fantastic experience: Love it
Fantastic experience: Great value for my fiver a month. Still good value for new members at £20 a month.
Fantastic experience: Went as a guest, it's an awesome gym. Plenty of kit for everyone to use. Clean and hygienic, friendly. Give it a try and see for yourself!
Negative experience: Gym was decent and reasonably priced, other than the wifi almost constantly being down and shoddy mobile coverage inside. but multiple hits to my bank account after cancelling. Membership team impossible to reach and they completely ignore emails. Wouldn't recommend anything other than a day pass...in cash.
Negative experience: Only been going to the gym for the past month, today i forgot my landyard that excepts me from wearing a mask, the guy behind the desk couldn't have been any ruder about it, im human mistakes happen, fair enough pull me up about it, although i had my tshirt over my face, but there's a way to speak to people.
Positive experience: To be fair your paying for what your getting gym equipment in not great standard but you can do your work out depending on how busy it is alot of the members could do with a reminder each time they've finished using the equipment to put dumbbell weight plates back after them not everyone can take off 25kg plates ect it's the same with using more than one piece of equipment especially just now having one person using 4 things is just stupid frankly
Positive experience: Overall Ok, but could add more weights
Positive experience: Spotlessly clean, lots of machines and friendly helpful staff
Fantastic experience: Top quality clean and all new equipment
Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym, just wish people would stick to the rules and wear a mask when moving to different exercise. I want our gym to stay open, play your part and wear a mask when moving around
Fantastic experience: Great to be back...
Positive experience: Great gym but mostly really busy, and is hard to get to some equipments or machines. Really messy coz no many peopleput weights back on place and u need to find things all over gym. Another down thing is no internet conection and not phone signal at all inside gym. So u cant use phone data to play music
Fantastic experience: Nothings changed if u went to DW last yr but usually quiet pools great ,baby swimming back so pool restricted to 2 lanes changing room packed at these times didnt see any mothers wiping down seats tho after use and alot not in masks !! But good spacious gym.
Negative experience: Customer Service is appalling at Everlast. This is clearly not the local gyms fault but Head Office and their customer service teams. Emailed multiple times to cancel membership, got a vague message saying that this will be confirmed in a few days, never heard back and continued to get charged. Joke.
