Negative experience: Got in the gym at 6am and weights already all over the place. Some cable machines not functioning properly

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. Fantastic experience: Great gym. Yes it has its busy times and quiet times but helpful staff, and clean gym. There is one thing that annoys me, people that go in late at night can be quite immature, it’s happened once or twice where they will just act stupid and make stupid over reactive noises and slam weights around whilst laughing at each other. But you can’t help with it being an unsupervised gym.

Fantastic experience: This Puregym is so spacious! There is plenty of space to move around and lots of equipment to use. I visited in the afternoon, and i managed to use the equipment that i wanted to use. The gym i found to be very clean. The changing room was spotless. Will be using this gym a lot more often. :)

Negative experience: The gym is very dirty and very unprofessional trainers. Avoid and go to another gym. Its overcrowded, you have to wait so long to use any of the equipment

Positive experience: Been going here for some time now and whilst the gym is stocked well and during non peak times there's plenty of space and kit. However recently there's been a drop in basic gym etiquette enforcement by the staff, groups of people leaving dumbbells everywhere, plates on the racks/floor. Would be nice to see them enforce the rules more to make it a more accessible shared space! Edit: Just wanted to clarify the leaving weights out isn't exclusive to peak times. Aside from that the gym is overall pretty good value.

Negative experience: Cheap and convenient location but most machines are below average condition. Also it is dirty, smelly and not well taken care of. Can’t complain about it being busy as I consider that normal due to its popularity.

Negative experience: If you're from out of town and hoping to use this gym to get a good workout, you will be disappointed . Been twice and both times its that busy, no equipment was available. The que for the leg press machine went out the door and half way to Gainsborough. Full of teenagers in large groups on phones hogging equipment. Management say its true that their gyms are so popular they can be busy, but when I pay over £ 8.00 for a visit and can hardly get on anything , they are just taking my money. The solution is so simple , buy more equipment now not next week or limit membership, not rocket science.

Positive experience: Over the last 10 years I have trained at several Pure Gym establishments: London, Leicester, Birmingham, Greater Manchester. I have recently moved to Lincoln and I visited St Marks today. I like to listen to an audiobook when training; today I was unable to hear my audiobook because the music, blasting in the gym, was too loud. This was not a problem at any of the other gyms I frequented. Not everyone wants to listen to loud repetitive disco beats when training. TURN IT DOWN so that I can listen to what I want to listen to.

Positive experience: Very friendly staff, Lots of equipment to use, always busy, clean area to work out in , although nobody cleans the sweat off the equipment after using and it doesn't seem to be enforced at all so pretty gross in that case.

Positive experience: Great gym, plenty of equipment, plenty of space. Only down sides for me are Each time I've tried to use the showers, they were dirty, so, not cleaned frequently enough. The vitamin drink machine I paid the extra for doesn't work, alot of times I try to use it and it says to get a staff member. But the staff there are amazing! Really kind and helpful, if I could recommend the staff for a raise here, I would. Genuinely, the staff at Lincoln PureGym are awesome and helpful. They've helped me with many of my issues with a smile and gone out of their way to fix my issues

Positive experience: Open 24/7. There are a lot of free weights. Free parking is available. Negative bit - overcrowded plus people don't respect gym rules - do not place weights back after use.

Negative experience: Now the rennovations have been completed it's a great and fresh place to workout. It does get VERY busy at certain times though so you can end up waiting for equipment. I have a couple of recommendations. - Some kind of signage in front of the weight sled 'lane' to ask people to keep it clear (not to use mats etc) and the exercise bikes could do with spreading out a bit more as you have to squeeze past people to use the middle ones. Edit May 2023 - lost a star as there seems to be a growing problem with equipment not being put back properly, broken or just left out in the way ready to be tripped over.

Negative experience: Worst gym Iv ever visited. In the process of some Renovation , 7 deep que to use the free weights. Admin staff are very helpful and answer any questions within a few hours
We're sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at PureGym St Marks Centre! We're installing a new cycle studio and new functional zone which means that the gym doesn't have its usual lay out. As we appreciate the inconvenience this might cause, we have given St Marks Centre members access to nearby gyms which they can use during the refurb. You can also check the busyness of the gym on any particular day and the amount of people in the gym on the PureGym app, allowing you to plan your workouts for a quieter times. We apologise for the temporary inconvenience that this has caused you but hope that you like the new-and-improved gym once the refurbishment has been completed in mid-December. Thanks, PureGym.

Negative experience: One star once again. Owner came up to me at around April time asking for any improvements. I said lack of equipment and said there definetely needs to be one more bench minimum. Been six months left and came back nothing has changed. Thousands of memberships surely youd like to maintain them. Machines are stiff and too much cardio equipment

Negative experience: The size of the gym is disappointing in reflection to the amount of people who attend the gym. There are virtually no weights with one bench press and 8 benches, with a needless amount of cardio equipment. You’d have to wait 10-20 minutes to get a bench and even then the variety of equipment is poor at best. Would be an amazing gym if they renovated it and put more equipment in but until then it will be a one star review.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym with a lot of equipment available to use at any given moment. Plenty of variety. One thing I like is how the personal trainers are very approachable and help you in whatever concerns you have in terms of fitness or nutrition or setting you up with a fitness program. However personal trainer programs do come at a cost, like with any service so be aware. Sam you're a legend bro

Negative experience: Time wasters . I will not recommend to anyone I booked "Let s get started " session in Lincoln and they sent me email in which they informed me that somebody will meet me "in the entrance of gym (outside the pods) " but nobody met me ( and I left after 20 minutes and canceled my membership when got home. What I was supposed to do , to enter, and do induction or "let started session", or whatever They call it , for myself ?

Positive experience: Its what you'd expect from a pure gym - decent training area, well equipped. Prone to getting quite busy at peak times which can really draw out your workout but it does the job.

Positive experience: The main issue is the gym is far too small for the amount of people that use it. Mostly fine if you want cardio, but not enough weights at all. If you don't mind queuing 15-20 minutes to get on a weight machine it's fine. I would say if you're a student and get the discount it's worth it, for everyone else at £26.99 a month it's very expensive for what you receive. EDIT: My issues with my gym buddy I pay for access has potentially been resolved finally. Extra star for the staff being very helpful, especially those that run classes. Some of the cardio equipment could do we being oiled more regularly but there's enough pieces you should be able to find a working one.

Negative experience: I'm looking for a new gym and so visited here on a day pass to get a feel for the place. Bearing in mind I've been to two PureGyms in Nottingham and both of those have been excellent in terms of space, cleanliness, amount and variety of equipment. This was quite disappointing. I read in a reply that you try to maintain a balance between cardio and strength and I have to disagree as there seems to be a lot more cardio equipment and floor area for cardio based exercising. It's already been mentioned but 1 flat bench and no free weight shoulder press. And what's probably worse is not a single hip-hinge squat machine of any kind! Never miss leg day guys!! What was also disappointing and this is down to the members rather than the staff was the complete lazy arsed, random replacement of dumbells and plates. That just shows the members have no respect for any one else and no respect for their gym. Needless to say, I won't be joining any time soon.

Positive experience: Only reason I'm going it's because of the price and location. Machines don't seem to be taken care of at all making them stiff, 1 Bench Press. Not many members of staff in case you need help and only pro would be open 24hrs. Update, machines seem a bit less stiff, still only 1 bench and cross trainer machine. For its popularity 2 of each minimum

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Positive experience: Clean. Very helpful staff. Open concept. New and well maintained equipment. Equipment does not cater towards rehab or performance clients. Equipment selection was not very thoughtful in my opinion. The free weight area is stuffed and lacks certain essential items. Excessive cardio equipment. Floor is far from optimised. When you walk in, half of the gym is congregating in one section. Still a good gym but I unfortunately do not think I will return.

Positive experience: this gym is good for your average gym goer, however it is nothing special, at peak times its unbearable business and there isn't enough machines for the crowds however when its quiet its quite a pleasant place

Positive experience: Not bad apart from everything is all over the place equipment wise. There seems to be no proper organisation of equipment could do with a bit of a sorting out. Would I sign up to this gym no unfortunately not. Its ok if k in the area and fancy a quick trip to the gym. But Its not for me. But I'm sure plenty of people will still like it there. We have over 220 bits of kit in each gym and aim to have a broad spread, getting the balance right between cardio and weights. We do usually group items together that are aimed at a certain part of the body but are always open to feedback. Negative experience: Maskless and dangerous. Started going to this gym after coming out of a national lockdown. Face masks were required by law within enclosed spaces unless exercising or exempt. This included while entering, walking around, toilets changing rooms, etc; and for the first couple of months everyone was following the rules. A little later on, I noticed many people were getting lax and not wearing masks. And I then noticed that the manager was stood at the entrance reminding people to wear masks and giving out ones to people without. (Well done, this bumped you up to 2 stars) However, unfortunately now, I only see about 2 other people per session with a mask on when they should. There’s only one sign in the whole gym asking people to “please” wear a mask. And I’ve even seen groups of around 5-8 people just stood in a circle having a chat without masks. It’s getting ridiculous. I understand staff may not be allowed to challenge/force people about masks but they can remind people, and can challenge them about socially distancing themselves. (And from the staff member handing out masks a couple weeks ago, they clearly can do this) It’s also not very difficult to have more than a single sign reminding users it’s the law to wear a mask unless exempt. The mask law in the UK: "you must wear a face covering by law, unless you are exempt or have a reasonable excuse [...] in indoor places where social distancing may be difficult and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet." - gov.uk “The government says members of the public should not challenge people for not wearing a face covering, but people who work in premises where face coverings are required can. They should be “mindful and respectful” of those who are exempt.” “Gyms are thought to be more high risk than other indoor venues because people exercising expel more droplets and aerosols as they breathe more deeply.”

Positive experience: Visited here 3 times while on a training course with work and first time in a PureGym before. Okay gym, to many cardiovascular machines and not enough benches but this could be due to covid? Was fine to use for a few days but wouldn't like it to be my usual place as I found the machines a bit dated.

Fantastic experience: As gyms go. I really like this one.
Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN. Upon joining I specifically asked if the showers were in good order and was lied to. MOST OF the glass shower doors are BROKEN and won't stay shut. The showers are not clean. It doesn't get that dirty in one day which means they aren't being cleaned properly. Every single cabin was full of human debris and felt slimy on my feet. Disgusting. Would not recommend.
Negative experience: Too much waiting for equipment
Fantastic experience: A very big and good gym with enough equipments to support your requirements, and a lot of sanitation stations to keep yourself safe in this environment. You might find the fees of the gym a bit high, but if you are really serious about going to the gym, then you'll find this investment worth it.
Positive experience: Sometimes can be waiting for niche machines but otherwise lots of space, lots of weights
Negative experience: I have been very disappointed with this gym. The equipment and space is good. However, the customer service isn't & when asked post an honest review of my first visit since lockdown, my review was rejected. Their cleaning facilities aren't kept topped-up & there is a lack of people wearing face masks & social distancing at this gym. It is really difficult to speak to someone about gym memberships/changing gym memberships. They can only be contacted by email or social media, and there are long delays in getting a response.
Positive experience: Decent gym
Positive experience: The gym itself is great but due to restrictions I go around 3am - 4am as there is only around 5-10 people and let's face it the weights area is way to small for a busy period. The problem with it being un-staffed is that people are not following Covid-Rules (wearing masks when they should or sanitising after finishing with equipment) and the place looks like a dump, used bottles, towels and weights are all over the place.

Fantastic experience: Great gym in a convenient city centre location. It has pretty much everything the average gym goer could need to get in a decent workout and offers 2hrs of free parking whilst you are in the gym - just need to input your registration as you enter the gym to make sure you avoid any parking charges. The staff are friendly and helpful and the cleanliness of changing rooms or equipment is always to a high standard.

Fantastic experience: First time in today. Not the sort of gym I am used to but seems really good it has everything you need for a workout. Gym really clean and staff wiping equipment for Covid-19
Positive experience: Good facilities obviously the selling point is 24/7 access which is plus if you go late at night. Usually always people there at lest 5-6 even at the odd hours For me 5star experience will be massaging chair as the one found in Pure gym Dunde/yes I am slightly envious / Also showers on the left side of men cubicles tend to have colder water for some reason I only use the two in the right . Everything else seems to be spot on. Keep up the good work. It is pleasure to train and gain there

Positive experience: I like it here. I like that it's a 24 hour gym. But I've been asking for a plyo box for 2 years now and still haven't got one. I used to LOVE doing these at my old gym. Core and body weight training is becoming more and more popular now so it needs to move with the changes. Also wall bars would look amazing in this gym. There's a few spaces on the walls where these would fit and are perfect for abs workouts and LOTS of different exercises. Even practicing the 'human flag'
