Hartsdown Gymnastics Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: This place needs serious updating! The amount of children going to gymnastics, can some of that funds be used to modernise the place? No investment at all in the facilities.
Positive experience: Daughters confidences has come on leaps and bounds within two terms. Highly recommend
Negative experience: Unfortunately had to stop taking my little girl here as she wasn’t getting anything out of it. It has the potential but the instructors are too busy chatting or focusing on a couple of kids who they must know personally and not actually teaching. They seem to spend the entire time stretching or walking around instead of actually showing the kids what to do. No structure to the place and what was the final nail in the coffin is that they don’t even bother to update the app to show what competencies have been carried out so my little girl and work on these (unlike the swimming instructors who do this weekly). Lazy to be honest and not worth the £33 monthly fee
Negative experience: The facilities themselves are good however the coach Gemma and her two assistants are just terrible, every week it’s the Gemma show. Children are not effectively coached and encouraged, coaches never have their full attention on the child on the apparatus, Gemma seems to be always trying to find something sarcastic to say and unfortunately the two younger coaches are following her lead. One coach constantly got my daughters name wrong but never apologised just made sarcastic comments, even after she had been corrected. In my opinion they play favourites and do not treat all the kids the same. All in all it was the most excruciating part of my week and was relieved when my daughter no longer wanted to attend.
Negative experience: I don't no I was working on the road Im the car park tarmacing.
Fantastic experience: Our daughter loves it. Listens and comes home and practices what she's learnt
Fantastic experience: Went and watched my granddaughter. So cute xx
Fantastic experience: Good place for young people
Fantastic experience: My daughter loves gymnastics at hartsedown :)
Fantastic experience: Attended 'Twinkling Stars' (18months - 3yrs) with my 19 month old daughter. Highly recommend. The staff at the gym were very professional and aware of COVID needs. The class was begun by Gemma who went through some warm up drills for the children and parents to do together. The children were then given free play on all the equipment with parents supervision. Two staff members Gemma and Abbie were overseeing and made themselves available for questions, suggestions and apparatus demonstrations. Both members of staff were considerate towards each Childs needs and wants, regarding space and attention. The 30min class was concluded with all children sitting and singing a song. Each child was given a 'great job' sticker which my daughter was happy to wear and tell anyone who asked about it that it was because of gymnastics.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, staff all really friendly and helpful. Good facilities all kept very clean.
Positive experience: Super class for toddlers. Can't add photos due to privacy of children. But the apparatus is safe and well placed for the kids to play without mishap
Fantastic experience: My youngest is hypermobile and it can take her a little longer to build strength. She's doing so well in their supportive environment. Love the coaches and how my children are responding. Both leaving their sessions happy and can't wait to return.
Fantastic experience: Good place for sport and leisure for whole family
Positive experience: Need referb
Negative experience: Horrible nothing's system for children this is not gymnastic. Very expensive for nothing's
Negative experience: Gymnastics for my 7 year old daughter - unprofessional and disorganised in both Hartdown centre but worst of all, dangerous. Serious safety concerns with how the lesson was conducted. For example children being pulled by other children with a rope near to brick pillars that have no padding. No information taken about the child i.e any type of health consideration. There were 5 "instructors" for 16 children but mostly not paying attention to the children. Seemed to only be 15 mins of actual gymnastics with a balance beam Vs 45 mins of kids giving each other piggyback rides. Had 1 lesson but will not be going back. Additional: Total cost for 1 lesson £26 due to admin fee for cancelling.
Fantastic experience: Parcour. Brilliant class. Can't recommend TPA highly enough
