Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly staff, and the pilates classes are excellent.

Negative experience: Very poor don’t accept cash anymore. I’m 65 years old and use cash to budget weekly. Stop penalising old people for using legal, legal tender!

Negative experience: I've worked in and been a member in gyms and clubs all over the south West and I can honestly say, Teignbridge are the worst I've ever come across. Tired old gyms in tired old buildings, app that doesn't work, and why oh why do we have to still book a session? (Hang over from COVID) Very outdated systems... Watching a video to act as an induction?? David Lloyd, LED, Fusion Woodbury, none of these top rated clubs still ask for an induction to be completed. Very over priced for the Level of equipment and service you get. Just awful!

Negative experience: I've become increasingly offput with every visit at the cleanliness of the women's changing rooms. Today they were particularly disgusting. While changing, I heard others commenting and online reviews would show that this is a popular opinion. The changing rooms always have a terrible smell to them, I will use the mother and baby changing cubicles as they are furthest away from what seems to be the smelliest part of the room. They normally smell of urine. Today, a musty poop smell was mixed in with it. The floors are dirty and slimy, between the tiles on the floor and walls is disgusting. There is a tide line at ankle level on the tiles of the entire room from years of built up dirt. The showers literally have mould in them that you can pull your finger though. I will change at home before my swim and not shower after my swim to spend as little time in the changing room as possible. I have noted a tap attachment under the hairdryers (also filty) and fantasised about bringing in my own jet wash so I can clean for everyone's benefit. This is a copy of feedback that I have also sent via email direct to the centre.

Negative experience: I'm pretty fed up with teignbridge leisure. They closed teignmouth (at least, pretty much all classes are not running) and I go to newton Abbott today (30 minutes drive) for a class and there is zero parking available. When I called to mention this I'm told, yes that's because of all the additional classes from teignmouth. You couldn't make it up. It's really poor, looks like I'll have to cancel

Negative experience: Used the gym and pool the gym was great but the ladies pool changing rooms were dirty and stank !

Negative experience: When walking the door and asking the lady in reception whether the place was open and do I need to book and she questioned why I thought it wasn’t open because I said sat in the car park outside it looks all closed down overgrown with weeds and the windows, you can see all used for Storage And looks deserted. Then asking whether it was ok to come swimming, I was informed that I had to have an account which she was not able to help me with and I would have to go home to go online to create an account or go to a library as i had no access you internet. Swimming pool had only a handful of people in it I can see why now.

Positive experience: Not bad, just over £16 for 2 adults and a child for 45 mins swim session. The changing rooms were clean, tidy and dry. lockers are provided but require tokens from reception.

Negative experience: Puts rude and inconsiderate customers above everyone else

Negative experience: Swimming changing rooms are in appalling condition every time I go, slimy dirty floor and stench of urine, particularly after children/school swimming, suggested to staff it would be nice if they cleaned the floor properly periodically throughout the day and was greeted with a shrug, Cancelled my membership as I just got sick of the lack of cleanliness and lack of lane swimming availability.

Negative experience: Nobody answers the phone ever ! Also loosing booking privileges after canceling once do to unforeseen circumstances is bloody harsh.I was actually going to switch from the gym group to the this gym to support local but will no longer do so.

Positive experience: It's a sports and leisure centre, not much else than that really. The staff are nice and friendly, and the facilities are always clean and tidy. Not used anything else than the pool, so can't comment one much else.

Fantastic experience: Returning to use the Leisure Centre after absence of several years. The infrastructure has changed little and possibly some updating needed in pool area but the staff and classes are outstanding. From the moment you enter and speak to any staff member you are made welcome. Their approach is professional and supportive. Started with one day a week cycle spinning. Now doing minimum of three days a week with mix of spinning, Pilates, Rowing and Gym. Jo Boardman and her colleague staff members, Andy Ash, Hannah B, and others I haven’t named have all provided excellent and very professional training and support, all done with a hint of humour. They have given us structure, purpose, fitness opportunities and a feeling of wellbeing which is both welcome and incredibly valued for a couple in their late sixties. Well done and thank you!

Negative experience: Reasonably priced for sure, but the toddler/kids pool is disgusting, nothing seems to have been renewed since I went as a child (15 years ago) Rusty slide overhanging the pool, broken tiles and skanky changing rooms. I told the receptionist and she seemed surprised. Good place to get a verruca probably, or tetanus.

Fantastic experience: I'm just swimming at the moment but lots of classes to join , gym ,yoga keep fit etc loads of facilities they do special member deals worth looking out for that workout £1 a day bargain !

Positive experience: Only 3 because we were there to watch a competition and viewing is only available from one end of the pool and that is limited

Negative experience: Came for a "fun swim" but slide not operating and there were 6 large scabby floats left out for the dozens of families. Website says there are 122 spaces to book a session but they only provide 6 old floats and a dozen bodyboards to go between everyone. Staff were nice but the centre is desperate for some updating.

Positive experience: One of Teignbridges largest leisure centres....Gym, Pool , classes and plenty of parking.

Negative experience: How do I book to go swimming here ? It says I need to book but I can't create an account to book it. I've entered all my details on the booking app but don't get the promised email with a password ! They don't answer the phone either.

Positive experience: Great staff, very helpful. Could do with updating but good size pool, and starting up the fun inflatable sessions ( think wipeout) . Great fun for children and adults.

Negative experience: Is it 80's? Nope. It's 2021 but the pool looks like from last century. Rusty and ugly slide - closed of course. No facilities for babies. If you want to swim-avoid. If you want to take family - avoid.

Negative experience: Stopped going to this gym because the staff decided they are using it at the same time which is stopping paying customers from using equipment. I mentioned this to reception several times ,and nothing was done about it , the guys in the gym are only interested in talking to the attractive girls and showing off on gym equipment to them , imagine paying for gym membership and then realising that the instructors are using the equipment same time stopping you from using them , absolute joke

Fantastic experience: A modern and well lit building with lots of parking, located not far from Newton Abbot downtown area. Friendly and helpful staff on duty. All the usual amenities with a large swimming pool, slide and smaller paddle pool. The place offers all kinds of physical courses. A great atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: We went for a kids party and were really impressed with the place, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the room was great, it looked like they had loads to do there

Positive experience: I visited to attend Cardiac Rehab. so only used one of studios. Looked like there were very good facilities. 3 decent sized sport halls, a gym and pool. All the staff appeared very friendly + a good sized free car park.

Positive experience: I actually quite like the center, the staff are nice and the facilities seem to be clean, however, although it is advertised as a 'heated pool' the water is always so cold. My daughter always wants to get out after around 10 minutes and so do I. The baby pool is also way too cold. The slide seems to only be there to entice people in. I've been quite a lot of times over the last 10 years and only once have I seen the slide open. And even then it was only open for about 10-15 minutes. There is potential for it to be really good but.... It's falls short.

Repeatedly am told that they are experiencing a high volume of calls whatever time of day i try, from first thing in the morning to late at night. Negative experience: I have been trying to get price for family swim for two days, I have sent a message had no reply, tried ringing instead the morning but I am being told to go online, which is where I started, so no personal contact info, I am afraid every business needs that beside there might not be every potential custmso instead of gaining new customers you have lost 3 adults and 4 children as potential regular customers, I have just spoken now to one of your team prices are not reachable for low income families a fun swim really doesn't Warrent such a high price considering that there is just a few thing flung in the water for kids to play with as this is what I was told a fun play is, let's face it you could bring your own, you have the Rivera swimming pool with all of great things to enjoy and less price

Positive experience: changing rooms need attention, 80% of all our weekly visits they are dirty and smell and need fixing damage. seating for swim observation average, limited seats and dirty. all glass viewing windows are dirty. used a few classes, generally ok but felt instructor was distant and less than helpful. not used gym but always busy and price puts me off. limited parking. car park always busy.

Negative experience: I came this night for the AquaFit course, I always paid and booked before going but 20 days ago (!) I wasn't feeling well and I couldn't attend the lesson; I know the bookings are not refundable and in fact I never expected to get the money back as I know the rules, but tonight....surprise! After 20 days they told me that they had to charge me 6 additional pounds for not attending that lesson, apparently losing the money already paid is not enough of a penalty for them, like in any other sensible place but for me this is nothing but a THEFT and you are THIEVES!!! DISGUSTING! Anyway congrats, you lost a customer and I hope you'll lose many more, since you are such dishonest and petty people ; ) Farewell

Negative experience: Current paying member. I really like the gym itself and the layout but I think the value for money is poor. Two of the TVs in the gym haven't worked for months and they still haven't been repaired. They tend to be pointless anyway because when you plug your headphones into the equipment it doesn't connect to the TV anyway like most other gyms would do. Things seem to take stupidly long to repair. One of the two steps machines has only recently been repaired and it was broken since January at least. Showers poor quality and smell like sewer. Only a small handful of lockers in changing rooms so you often struggle to get a locker in the changing room. I wouldn't mind so much if my membership was £20 a month but for £34 a month it's not good value for money. There doesn't seem to be any investment in this gym everything stays broken.

Negative experience: As a member I find that any repairs required always take months to get done ...changing rooms in the sauna area are too small for the amount of users ..lockers are usually broken ..and trying to contact the centre by phone is like trying to contact Jesus himself ....no investment

Positive experience: Staff:5 facilities 2 or 3 at best. To be fair I'm judging it from the sauna/ stream which was very disappointing. Firstly the parking is problematic. Then I found the layout of the facilities very poor. I had to put my clothes in a locker in the reception / stairway as there were only a handful of lockers in the dry change. The only lockers left were so high I could not reach easily. Not disability accessible at all! I also didn't like having to go out to a public area, wet and in my costume, to get my clothes . Then there are no private cubicals to change , only the showers where there is no bench to sit on. Not great for people who are very body consious, or say, women who have had a masectomy and may not want to change in a public space. Because the shower space was separate from men I was not able to share toiletries with my partner. Small thing but annoying that in future we will have to each bring our own. I don't know why the planners cant make individual shower cubicals communal and drying areas separate. You are also less likely to be waiting for a shower at busy times too. The sauna and steam were clean but there was nothing pleasant about the area there were a couple of plastic chairs outside but it wasn't an area you'd want to relax. A sauna is not just about getting hot - it's the whole experience to relax. The area outside should have a pleasant ambience where you can sit down a cool off. It was ckean but depressing frankly. The only shower in that area is a freezing one. That's OK if you want that but if you want a tepid or warm shower you have to go through a security door back to the gender segregated dry area. In addition I find that sauna is great to combine with a swim although I may only want to swim for a few minutes. You couldn't do this here without walking through the public space and there was no combined price which is often the case in centres I've been before. I'd give the planners a 1 star. You can't blame this all on a lack of space. It just hasn't been thought through and I think it has a huge impact on the customer experience. Pretty disappointing overall.
