Positive experience: I found it to be extremely expensive having to pay for a ticket plus skate hire plus 6.60 for a aid.. I would of thought skates are included in ticket price. Fair enough to charge for aids but way to pricey.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing time watching ice hockey with my family! The staff were so nice, they gave me a free raffle ticket and even gave a relative a birthday shoutout on the microphone which was incredibly nice of them.

Positive experience: Ice surface was in great condition and not crowded session so plenty of space (Tuesday 6pm). Music could have been louder for a bit more atmosphere. Main negative was the right hand skate being blunt and hard to control(tried several pairs and all had same issue presumably because all sessions run in the same anti clockwise direction?). Otherwise though, everything else was good, clean and dry floor to change shoes to skates and not too long queues for skate hire.

Positive experience: Lockers need upgrading. Not everyone carries cash nowadays

Negative experience: The quality of staff has really gone down hill over the last couple of years compared to when it first opened. The current staff (yellow tops) don't seem to be competent in fitness. I really enjoy the quality of the spin class however I find the instructor(Maggie) incredibly unnecessarily rude (not what you say mainly it's how you say it situation). I was 4 minutes late once to the class and she barked out me in front of everyone to come out however I have since witnessed her allow other members who she's pally with into the class later.. Great class but perhaps if she didn't speak to adults like children then she may get more attendees..

Negative experience: The customer service at this gym was absolutely deplorable. I had an extremely rude encounter today when I tried to enter the gym and encountered issues with the gate not opening properly. As I approached the gate, I pressed the button, but nothing happened. Frustrated, I made my way to the reception desk to ask for assistance in opening the gate. There, I encountered a woman with blonde hair and a short hair if I am not wrong her name is Su. I politely asked her several times for help, but she blatantly ignored me and refused to assist me in opening the gate. I was taken aback by her dismissive attitude and lack of consideration for my predicament. It was clear that she had no intention of providing any sort of customer service, let alone basic courtesy. After this encounter, I was left feeling extremely disappointed and disrespected. I would never recommend this gym to anyone based on the appalling customer service I experienced. It is crucial for businesses to prioritize the needs and concerns of their customers, and this gym clearly falls short in that regard. My experience serves as a warning to others to steer clear of this establishment if they value respect and proper treatment as customers.A specially with the Blondie hair woman in the reception.

Negative experience: It used to be a really good local gym. However since the council took over it the quality has decreased quite a lot with an increase of prices, unprofessional front desk, no booking slots!!! Definitely not a good change.

Fantastic experience: I go once, maybe twice a year, and really enjoy going. My kids love going, and you get to see some amazing skilled people on ice. It's a beautiful sport. And a great day out with the family.

Positive experience: Large ice skating venue with course available. Convenient parking, same entrance as Tesco carpark, just follw sign (turn left) once you entered the carpark. Unfortunately the QR with discount offered by the leisure centre doesn't work, so have to pay the full price.

Negative experience: I joined this gym recently and as I work from home, it seemed like a good option at the time. I finish work a bit earlier and go for about 3pm. Sadly, this is when all the local kids attend the gym. It's quite intimidating, they will be running around, standing in groups laughing and sniggering. They will hog the machines and it just has a school feel to it. I dropped some water on the mat, and one girl thought it was urine and they proceeded to point and laugh. I go here to relax and end up feeling more stressed after. It's really hard to ignore the groups of kids as they form the majority of the attendees at that time. I'm not sure what can be done about it but I'm seriously considering changing my membership to somewhere a bit better. The machines are ok but still quite worn out and some are not working at all. Lots of missing weights too. I think for the price I would expect a little better. I wouldn't recommend anyone to join. Bit of a headache overall.

Negative experience: Used to be reasonably priced as soon as Lambeth took over prices went up, used to regularly ice skate here, cancelled my membership as soon as they took over for increasing prices with no previous communication, this was when Lambeth first took over

Positive experience: Only reviewing the ice rink. We went mid week and not too busy. There was plenty of room to skate without banging into anyone, unlike when you skate at Christmas rinks. Hire skates are not the best but are completely fine and cheaper than buying your own skates.

Negative experience: The toilets and changing areas in the pool are dirty, the pool itself is very badly run for lane swimming with no real regard for different speeds, with loads of classes on leading to a cramped experience. When you cancel membership they also just add a month on for no reason. I cancelled this morning (during which they rather insulting put my reason for doing so down as "not reaching goals" when I've actually lost 10kg in 4 months) and will be paying until August, due to a notice policy hidden in the terms and conditions. The prices are increasing too, it's an increasingly expensive ask for a very poor experience overall. Be kind to yourself and go to a nicer place.

Positive experience: Decent gym but quite expensive for what it is. Seems to be better looked after since AL took over. The machines received a much needed update. However, after all of that investment they replaced the semi-decent treadmills with very very old, touch screen ones that take about 2 minutes to get going. They are very unstable and shake side to side when even lightly jogging. Half of them are nearly always always broken and out of order for weeks at a time. Not good enough for the price of the membership. There are also no mirrors in front of the squat racks (there used to be) doesn't seem like a logical adjustment and is quite unsafe. They also say that the pricing is flexible but there is no 'gym only' tier. They also play the radio in there very loudly which realistically just means we are listening to annoying radio ads every time at excessive decibel.

Fantastic experience: Damien at reception was extremely helpful and attentive during our visit. We had a great time, centre was clean and well kept. We would definitely return! Thank you

However since the council took over it the quality has decreased quite a lot with an increase of prices, many pieces of equipment are out of service for the past month or longer, services not clean, lockers super dirty and reduction on number of classes. Definitely not a good change.

Positive experience: Soft play 1 on the ground floor is new and clean. Ideal for babies and toddlers, lots of padded floor space, some foam rocking animals, 2 small ball pits,a big mirror and a TV screen in the floor showing insects, and an area with big foam blocks to make a mini assault course. It's maybe for children up to 4/5 as it has a very small up and over. Soft play 2 is advertised as 0-8 which is misleading. My small 6 year old couldn't stand up and was a bit bored after 10mins. It's a small double level peice of apparatus, again ideal for maybe 2-5y olds. We've had some nice bday parties there. The baby area is just a ball pit and some mats on the floor with a few bigger foam blocks, so again not much (downstairs is much better for babies). My main issue with upstairs soft play (2) is that we were the first session of the day and it was really dirty :( There were drinks cartons and snack wrappers in the apparatus (parents please supervise your kids and clean up after them???) and the mats were really dirty - unswept and crumby/dirt on them which was unacceptable as for an area babies are rolling/crawling around on. There was also a highly suspicious brown smear on one of the mats Again this is parents responsibility to clean up after their kids, but the place should also be having a proper clean at least once a day?

Positive experience: They're doing a decent job since taking over from Greenwich Leisure. The staff are friendly and competent. The memberships are good value and the app works well (hopefully it now works if you are on THEIR WiFi network!). Some of the gym machines ARE new but some are past it - broken / missing bits / and / or clunky or with faults. Cafe is a bit random with its opening - often no staff - leisure centre staff sometimes help and serve you.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of this gym for almost 10 years and use several of the facilities regularly. The choice and frequency of classes are good. The instructors are good, helpful and friendly. There’s a great community spirit here and I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Positive experience: My go-to leisure centre whenever I want to do an activity. Has a good range of activities, though I mainly use the Ice Rink despite how expensive it is. There's a Tescos and car park nearby which is quite good as well. Overall, nothing but pleasant experiences over the years!

There is a strong commitment to hygiene evident through well-maintained facilities, great availability of a wealth of knowledgeable trainers offering classes catering to a variety of fitness levels and styles, and decent equipment in good working condition. Since Active Lambeth took over, the management team has prioritised customer satisfaction by continuously striving to enhance the overall experience for members, from sign-up to sweating sessions.

Fantastic experience: This is probably the cleanest, best run leisure centre I have ever been to. The lobby area is bright and welcoming. Front desk staff are helpful and polite always, despite some unreasonable and occasionally hostile patrons who vent their frustrations about things clearly beyond the staff's control. One great feature is the re-opened café, with reasonable priced drinks and snacks, as well as plenty of seating - again kept very clean and tidy by the staff. I only swim there, do not know anything about the ice skating and gym facilities, but they seem popular and well equipped. I saw some negative reviews here about the cleanliness of the pool changing area, but in three years of coming here I have never seen anything but clean, well looked-after cubicles, showers and toilets. They even get the water temperature in the showers right - a feat almost impossible for most facilities of this type in my experience. Pool lifeguards are diligent and polite. The pool is rarely overcrowded thanks to the booking system, but sometimes lanes get busy when aqua fitness classes occupy half the pool. It pays to keep a photo of the term-time schedule (helpfully posted on the wall outside the pool) so you can avoid times when swim classes occupy several lanes. I will let someone else review the gym, ice skating, sports hall areas and classes, because I don't use them. Overall I find this a great facility, and pricing is extremely reasonable for seniors like me. I often find that in a facility like this (and I have used many over the years in several countries) the most important thing is the quality, politeness, and enthusiasm of the staff - and in this aspect, Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre is a gem.

Negative experience: Paid for monthly skating lessons and it’s as if they cancel the session every other week due to no cover. For the price paid, this should not be happening. They refund you in credit but it can only be used to pay for the monthly membership.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities and friendly staff. Changing rooms and very clean and spacious. Always plenty of space in rhe pool. Would definitely recommend this leisure centre.

Negative experience: The elliptical machine has been ‘out of order’ for four weeks there is one other working one in the whole gym and 10 treadmills. Please get more elliptical machines the one working one is always in use 24/7

Positive experience: I forgot my jacket hanging in changing area with my wallet and cellphone while I’m in the pool but i got them back, lifeguard give it back to me but my cash is gone first time using the facility, pool is good but bad experience with my personal things. I should more careful next time with my personal things.

Negative experience: it used to be ok before it changed to new management. Now so crowded with play area as you walk in. it's a mess. Always crowded. No hand gels for infection control and its winter. Its only a matter of time before covid infest this thing again......I'm changing gym membership.

Fantastic experience: Good fun watching ice hockey!

Negative experience: I wish I could share actual pictures of how dirty the gym lockers are before you enter the gym. Either they don't have cleaners or they don't request the cleaners to clean the lockers. There are multiple lockers with grub and dirty containers in them that have been there for months on end. How do they expect members to actually use the lockers? Additionally, the machines are always sticky and now they've switched the wet wives with dry wipes which makes cleaning even more of a struggle. To top it off they have INCREASED their prices?! Yes they've updated the gym a bit but members shouldn't have to pay more just because they've updated broken machines from 10 years ago. Just in general, there are not very sanitary, and the place isn't very clean (except for the front lobby floor). The group exercise coaches never show you how to fix your form. I actually got injured once because of this. Front desk staff also seem like they don't enjoy their jobs and aren't always helpful. I would not recommend paying full price for this facility to only use the gym + group exercises but I understand the convenience of the other amenities if you have kids. As another update since March 2024, it looks like they finally cleaned the lockers two weeks after I left this review, but that was only because of the review. Cleanliness should be prioritized at all times, not just when someone voiced concern about it. Hopefully it will continue.

Positive experience: This place is adequate and functional - absolutely no-frills. I went for the ice rink. The access gate scanners weren’t working, so after paying we had to wait (while a large queue built up behind us as we waited to be let in as the receptionists were serving other people.) Was annoying as you only get one hour of access so felt like our time l was being wasted! It’s is very basic.. I went a few years ago and noticed that some of the spectator seats were broken - fast forward to present day and they are still broken. And it’s expensive- £9 entry plus £6 skate hire. But it’s a decent sized rink. Can get very busy!

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend coming here. The icerink is a great place to spend a day with friends or family. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the ice is always in great condition. They offer a variety of classes and programs for all ages, so there's something for everyone. A great sized icerink, although it can get quite busy at times.

Positive experience: I really loved ice skating it was acc fun! And the staff were really nice!! I would give it 5 starts, but the rental skates and really bad quality. They don't give u anke support. The blades are blunt, but everything else was good! Defo go ice skating, but I wouldn't recommend wearing the rentals xx

Negative experience: Easily the worst but somehow the most expensive Gym in Streatham. For the price you pay it's ridiculous that the machines are constantly out of order, the bathrooms are extremely dated, half of the lockers are broken. It also took them months to fix the only water fountain in the Gym. From a Gym goers perspective you would be much better going to thegymgroup down the road which costs £30 for much more equipment. Active Lambeth Streatham charges you around £60 for Gym + Classes + Swimming but don't offer a package just for the Gym like their other "Active Lambeth" counterpart Gyms. They do this under the pretence of offering a "whole" package but if that was the case why do they offer swim only packages? Active Lambeth needs to offer a package for Gym only which should be competitively priced with other gyms in the area (around £30 a month) because for Gym goers the small gym at £60 a month is not worth it (not everyone wants to do classes or swim)

Fantastic experience: Cafe is great and not just for when you’re hungry after exercise, it’s also really easy to coast into when you have a baby sleeping in a buggy. Nice panini options, drinks and snacks. Hot chocolate is an absolute treat after swimming and it’s all very reasonably priced. Facilities are great with group changing rooms for the pool that work well for families and lots of single and mid sized changing rooms too. Lockable buggy parking (£1 coin needed) and lockers (£1 needed). Haven’t used the ice rink yet but it looks great. The soft play is great for kids and again you have lockable buggy parking on the ground floor or you can leave them in the area by the side of the soft play.

Positive experience: It is such a pity that sessions are so short. Today we queued 20 minutes to get our skates and we didn't have much time left to skate as beginners. Also, there is no music so bit boring. Apart for these to minors. It is an okay experience.

Negative experience: Facilities in the Gym are good, only problem is there is an onslaught of school children who arrive and sit on their phones, between 3:30-6PM and render most of the gym inaccessible. They use the machines incorrectly at risk of hurting themselves and their are never staff around to monitor this. It's quite worrying. The lockers in the mens changing room are slowly falling apart and the whole place stinks of urine. The water fountain has been broken for the past two months. I asked staff about this who said they were unaware to be then told that managment are dealing with it. They've just spent a massive amount of money on a rebrand but with no new facilities.

Positive experience: Could do with sprucing up but it was cheap and cheerful. Organisation was great, staff were pleasant enough, assisted when needed. Can't complain to be honest but nothing special either.

Positive experience: The biggest and best. My only issues are the car parking machines, which are very nearly impossible to understand, the cost of aids for newer skaters (£6) and lack of staff on the rink itself to help kids get started.

Positive experience: Had ice skate with my son today, the facility is great. What disappointed me is, I expressed I wanted to hire skate aid (penguin), I would have to go downstairs to reception to pay with only socks on and also left my child upstairs. The operating process is not customer friendly. What made me shock is, the skate aid is so EXPENSIVE! It’s £6.15, the most expensive I’ve ever heard/hired. I don’t find any price info for this on website or at Reception until the moment I was in rush to pay and went back to the rink.

Negative experience: . Very bad customer service. . Management refuse to deal with complaints. They would not even acknowledge the receipt of your complaints. Example: complaint against their duty manger Yasser. . Agreed refund never issued despite promises from their staff Marva from Finance Department. We sent her emails to request an update and copied the centre's managers but she chose not to reply! No response from managent.

Fantastic experience: Great service, lovely crowd on a well maintained ice rink. Good facilities here. They have an ice skate shop, skates also sharpened on site. Great fun for individuals, group and family.

Negative experience: The company running the sakes has bad customer service. Following an incident with their staff who did not even know how to process a refund, we contacted their customer services to complain. We never heard from them. Be prepared.. If anything goes wrong and you complain to them, they may never get back to you. We are still waiting for their reply.

Negative experience: Desperately in need of 1. Better training for the front desk staffs. To think outside the box, you can deal with your sticky issues and unsatisfied customer which mainly due to your incompetence, while you multitask as a gate keeper to let students enter to attend their lesson. 2. Better system for the students attending lessons (which not considered as "membership")

Negative experience: Great place with lots to offer but awful front desk staffs. Words to the staffs: if you hate your job, quit. Don't stay and give bad customer service. Ever since Better taken over by Lambeth Active, the services has gone down hill.

Negative experience: Painful SOP for children to attend every lesson, lining up at busy counters that's dealing with all sort of matters, while those who had signed up for lessons waiting forever to just get in. Inefficiency at it's worst, when we are on-going direct debit, pre-paid client, being given a barcode which has got no functionality. The scan & enter gates are a luxury feature "only for members", like you need to buy fast-pass for a theme park.

Negative experience: Good morning, the comment about this gym is bad, starting with the lack of organization, every Saturday I went with my children to the pools where they did a test and received a wristband to use the entire pool, however the last Saturday next to the pools as always was asked age where he said 7 and 8 and said sorry but the 7 cannot take the test.. see the license plate? revolted said because since coming here the sign has always been there but, they always built the test and always used the whole pool. they didn't allow him to take the test.. I sent the email asking for information on how to cancel our contracts and about the situation. the answer was to give our data for the cancellation (that is, the customer is not worth anything they said as soon as they canceled without trying to resolve the situation) and that they would check for me, that's fine, it's 103 euros, that's not much... continuing you mark the pools in the app when you arrive it only shows the appointment they do not check the age of the children, when you arrive at the pools they ask the age advice lie for them they just trust your word.... If it really was a law applied to age, it would be certified at the entrance as a mandatory law.... going to the gym, the boditrax machine that made the body medications was removed, many machines were out of order and in the morning to take a shower it takes about 9 minutes for the heated water.... but the 5 star gum staff and cleanliness has improved a lot with the new staff..... but I think the gym should lose enough customers to know how to value those who pay to attend.... Whoever has a council for a new gym, thank you in advance

Positive experience: Really enjoy the venue. Two minor niggles: I) front desk really slow to let you in, and ii) crack down by new management on wearing earphones.

Fantastic experience: Loved it. Staff were great. Nice size rink replenished often enough. So very pleased. Small things: Pricing should reflect that skate hire isn't included. The generic skate can be problematic for broad feet. So if you intend on going regularly, get your own skates it'll save your nose too.

Positive experience: After the negative experience turn into a better one. Marva from the complaints team give me a call and in a very professional manner handled my problem. The company refunded my money and give me the same amount of goodwill. Surprised me well. If I could give 0 stars I would. The quality of the ice ring was terrible, and the entry system is out of date. The ice was dirty and overused. The skats were old and broken and weren't enough sharp. I managed to buy 2 extra tickets and cancelled 12 h before the season started and they don't want to refund. When I bought the tickets nowhere warn me these tickets are not refundable if I need to cancel. I try to call reception to sort out my refund problem, over 30 minutes of waiting on the phone and no answer. I will never go ever again.

Negative experience: I would leave 0 stars if I can. Paid for a student membership and uploaded my ID, then suspended my account saying no ID uploaded. No way for me to upload another ID, multiple email unanswered, phone unanswered, now still charge me for my membership!

Positive experience: Unfortunately Active Lambeth took over recently and made a right pig's ear of the transfer over the weekend. One really felt for the brilliant reception (but hard pressed) staff were having to cope with an avalanche of (justified!) concerns from us frustrated members who simply wanted to get into our activities without queueing for ages whilst the systems continually failed to deliver simple solutions?!? Hopefully it will swiftly be resolved & we can all return to normality; Hey-Ho, eh?!?

Positive experience: I used the swimming pool yesterday for the first time, and was rather disappointed with it. It is underground, with no natural lighting, the changing cubicles have very narrow benches, almost impossible to sit on, and in the pool itself, Lane discipline is neither enforced nor observed. I find I prefer Clapham!

Negative experience: They need to create a separate website for ice skating because the system they’ve got in place now isn’t working. Can’t get a booking or find any of the info I need. It just keeps prompting me to join and start a membership. They don’t accept cash either so how am I meant to get £1 for the locker. This place puts me off ice skating. I avoid better gyms in general but I have no choice here because it’s the only ice rink on the area sooo

Positive experience: Used better gym facility, good equipment not too busy at 10 am. Changing facilities fine, but showers could use some improvement water not draining water properly sometimes. Make sure to get qr code before leaving parking area. Parking is located next to tesco car park look for the signs.

Negative experience: Wow.. what an experience.. been using center for a month now ..staff seemed nice and friendly till I met manager. Went for public ice skating. I pay monthly membership- so there was no bookings available and lots of ice users also one of the team members said to me, as you have membership you can come over without booking. I never really have opportunity to book a slot as its never available. Maybe something wrong with my membership.. So came today without booking and i Was stopped at the Reception by the manager as my membership code didnt working. Tried to tell her that whenever I want to book a slot it's not available. She didn't even asked me to look into my account. Seemed very into rush to serve other clients behind me , like my problem didn't count. Also I don't think its really inappropriate to call a client you don't know - "Darling" she was keep repeating Darling after each sentence .. which I felt unprofessional ..I'm pretty sure that manager is someone who deals with problems. In this case membership problems etc. But I felt like I'm not welcome there. Funny enough we customers pay money for service for the saff to get their salary and buy bread but still we been treated like we are no one. Sad experience could be dealt in different manner

Negative experience: Don't cancel your membership in person. I did this back in March and they claim to have no record of it and say that they're camera footage only goes back 2 weeks. They charged me 3 extra month's membership. I've never felt so cheated.

Positive experience: Courts finally resurfaced. To be honest they are definitely repolished, they claimed to have laid a new floor, but I've played there for years to know it's the same. The polish that they've done will only probably last a couple weeks and unfortunately it'll end up becoming the same slippery dangerous surface. The lights have not been fixed in the sports hall... It's been 6 months... Again dangerous as it gets difficult seeing the shuttlecock. The reason they tell us is due to an electrical fault, I think that should be a priority to fix. It's a nice place, the gym is good, but the points I've mentioned above make this place feel so neglected. Staff are good, but one or two do have a bit of an issue of understanding when a court is not set up, instead you get a cold response on when the courts will get set up.

Negative experience: It was good center before but now it is getting worse and worse. Today (15/01/23), the water was cold in the swimming pool in the morning class. Teachers were arguing amongst themselves who will take the class. Kids were shivering and they turned off the showers. This is outrageous as kids could get severely ill.

Negative experience: SWIMMING (with school) I attended swimming lessons with my school, which was extremely disappointing. First of all, for the experienced swimmers like me, who knew how to swim, were left on the side half the time and given 5 seconds max to even take a dip in the pool. As well as that it was November, and it was freezing, being left out on the side of the pool with the air con beating in our heads. The instructors weren’t well either, giving us attitude instead of being patient and taking their time with us. It was unfair as the less experienced swimmers got to stay into the pool the whole lesson, having fun. I catched a very bad cold, having to stay in my bed for 3 weeks due to intense ear pain and fever. A fellow parent observed this and took it into consideration immediately. ICESKATING Nevertheless, the iceskating experience was fantastic. Many experienced ice skaters go there Overall, I would recommend the other facilities here, other than swimming lessons.

Positive experience: I played ice hockey there. Its really good, but the rental skates are not good and uncomfortable. I now have my own skates but i would recommend buying your own unless its a one time thing... Good rink, really nice.

Fantastic experience: This is a great fun night out with your kids. We had a birthday party here, you can burn of loads of energy and have the best time here. Staff were great, atmosphere is so uplifting and high octane energy. Brilliant night.

Positive experience: Too pricey, I used to pay £18 for a whole family ice skating experience. Now I end up paying £35 for the only 3 of us. Overall, the experience was fun and I enjoyed it.

Negative experience: A great facility which has become run down. Filthy toilets, many staff disengaged, no enthusiasm to go above and beyond. Wouldn't take much to bring it back up to the facility it once was.

Positive experience: It was ok I arrived 10 minutes and only had 40 mins as we had to pay for the skates at the desk, usually you could pay online. Prices are a bit more expensive.

Negative experience: Very disappointing… there was no clear sign at the entrance nor the website that the lifts were out of service. The lady let me pay then came to me and explained the lift is not working. I cannot walk at all. It was my son’s birthday it was very upsetting no refund nothing. The only thing that gave us grace was one of the employees carried me upstairs; I can’t remember his name but himself and another young man with beautiful curly hair made that happen thanks to them I got to see my son skate. And 4 other disabled people came there and was turned away, they again lost there money!!

Negative experience: The gym facility is really dirty. I went there a few times and every time was the same. * The floor looks like it was never cleaned especially next to all machines * All machines full of dust. * water fountain not good condition * quite a lot machines out of order
